Transcript:

00:00:01 hello brothers and sisters this is Matt
00:00:06 I’m joined here by my brother Ben sorry
00:00:08 let me get this equipment situated
00:00:11 properly um and we’re here today to uh
00:00:16 cover what is um what what are the
00:00:20 attributes who is Yahweh what are his
00:00:22 attributes and his character uh we’re
00:00:25 going to pick up where we left off on
00:00:28 the last presentation but as a brief
00:00:31 recap Ben you want to go ahead and do
00:00:32 that okay so what we talked about last
00:00:35 time uh was from the uh from all the way
00:00:39 through verse uh all going as we went
00:00:43 through verses u 11 and 12 we talked
00:00:47 about the love of God being found in
00:00:51 keeping Torah and keeping his
00:00:55 Commandments um and the reason for this
00:00:58 is that Torah and the Commandments of
00:01:00 God are revelation of his
00:01:03 character and therefore when we love to
00:01:07 keep when we love his Commandments we
00:01:09 love him because it is a his
00:01:11 Commandments are a revelation of his
00:01:13 character and this being filled with
00:01:15 this love of
00:01:18 God is what gives us is what gives is
00:01:23 what uh is what makes is what makes us
00:01:27 sufficient it’s the way that’s been
00:01:28 prepared for us
00:01:32 um that we may accomplish the
00:01:34 Commandment that Yeshua gave us to be
00:01:36 perfect yeah so let us move as we move
00:01:41 forward
00:01:42 now what last time we did talk about how
00:01:45 we were going to talk about how we were
00:01:48 going to talk about how
00:01:50 mosiah Benjamin talks King Benjamin in
00:01:52 mosiah chapter 4 talks about goes over
00:01:55 the heart of the law we didn’t quite get
00:01:57 to that last time so this time
00:02:00 we’re going to get into that starting in
00:02:02 verse 13 I’ll start us off all right
00:02:04 this time and you will uh and you will
00:02:07 not have a mind to injure one another
00:02:10 but to live peaceably and to render to
00:02:12 every man according to that which is his
00:02:14 due this verse of scripture reminds me
00:02:17 of one of the subdivisions of Torah well
00:02:22 uh when Yeshua was alive in his Earthly
00:02:24 Ministry he gave us two subdivision he
00:02:27 gave us the two subdivisions of the 10
00:02:32 okay love the Lord uh love Yahweh your
00:02:36 Elohim with all your heart might mind
00:02:37 and strength and the second is like unto
00:02:40 it love thy neighbor as thyself and this
00:02:44 verse is dealing more with the part of
00:02:48 the subdivision that is loving your
00:02:49 neighbor as yourself in support of this
00:02:52 Exodus 20:
00:02:54 13-17 Thou shalt not kill or better
00:02:58 translation Thou shalt not not commit
00:03:00 murder or Thou shalt not shed innocent
00:03:03 innocent blood right yes thank you uh
00:03:08 Thou shalt not commit adultery Okay the
00:03:12 reason that’s important actually is
00:03:14 because this is why
00:03:17 Yeshua judges Jerusalem for stoning the
00:03:22 prophets because they were men who were
00:03:25 innocent blood yes they were clean
00:03:29 through the grace of
00:03:31 Messiah they were not living in sin they
00:03:35 had no s do By The Grace by the grace of
00:03:39 Messiah they were without sin yes and
00:03:42 therefore when they were killed it was
00:03:45 the shedding of innocent
00:03:47 blood yes uh Thou shalt not commit
00:03:51 adultery Thou shalt not steal Thou shalt
00:03:54 not bear false witness against thy
00:03:55 neighbor and thou shalt not covet thy
00:03:57 neighbor’s house Thou shalt not covet
00:03:59 thy neighbor’s wife nor his manservant
00:04:01 nor his maid servant nor his Ox nor his
00:04:03 ass nor anything that is thy neighbors
00:04:06 now just a little funny side note um on
00:04:10 the Commandment Thou shalt not commit
00:04:12 adultery there actually is um an
00:04:16 addition of the King James Bible that
00:04:20 has the knot
00:04:22 removed it’s called The Wicked Bible it
00:04:25 says Thou shalt commit
00:04:27 adultery just uh you know so you know
00:04:31 just for those
00:04:33 who for those who believe in the
00:04:35 infallibility of the entire process by
00:04:38 which the Bible has evolved um well
00:04:41 there’s that’s something for you at one
00:04:44 point uh at one point due to a printer
00:04:47 error yes there was uh now the printer
00:04:51 was
00:04:52 fined and uh lost his printing license
00:04:56 however but but the point remains and
00:05:00 they and they resend and they and they
00:05:02 uh and they corrected the error but the
00:05:06 point remains that um you know it’s okay
00:05:11 to admit
00:05:13 that mistakes have happened yeah in the
00:05:16 past with regards to the Bible now does
00:05:19 this mean that we don’t have faith in it
00:05:20 as a word of God no but what it does
00:05:24 mean is that we have to as we look at it
00:05:28 realize um
00:05:31 that what we think it means may not be
00:05:33 what it
00:05:35 means and uh we need and so we need to
00:05:39 do we need to do our due diligence and
00:05:41 go back to the original sources and uh
00:05:44 try to make sure that we know what the
00:05:46 words of what the wording
00:05:49 is yeah and what it means
00:05:54 correct all righty
00:05:57 um and then there King Benjamin goes on
00:06:00 ye shall not suffer your children that
00:06:03 they go hungry or naked neither shall
00:06:05 you suffer that they transgress the laws
00:06:07 of God and fight to quarrel one with
00:06:09 another and serve the devil who is the
00:06:11 master of sin or who is the evil spirit
00:06:14 which hath been spoken of by our fathers
00:06:17 our fathers being the Hebrew
00:06:20 Israelites uh he being an enemy to all
00:06:23 righteousness but ye will teach them to
00:06:25 walk in the ways of truth and soberness
00:06:28 you will teach them to love one another
00:06:30 and to serve one another and and so
00:06:32 here’s here he’s starting to get into
00:06:34 what I call into what is generally known
00:06:38 among
00:06:39 uh poor Scholars as the heart of the law
00:06:43 let’s go to Leviticus chapter 19 and
00:06:45 I’ll read that too Thou shalt not curse
00:06:48 the deaf nor put a stumbling block
00:06:50 before the blind but sh but shalt fear
00:06:53 thy God but shal fear thy Elohim I am
00:06:56 yah Thou shalt not hate thy brother in
00:06:59 thine heart Thou shalt in any wise
00:07:01 rebuke thy neighbor and not suffer sin
00:07:03 upon Him Thou shalt not avenge nor bear
00:07:07 any grudge against the children of thy
00:07:09 people but Thou shalt love thy neighbor
00:07:11 as thyself I am yah so this go so as you
00:07:16 can see if we go back to the to the
00:07:20 verses here you can see how this is
00:07:22 teaching that you will teach your
00:07:23 children to walk in the ways of truth
00:07:25 and soberness you will teach them not to
00:07:27 fight and quarrel with each other not
00:07:29 which is another way of saying that they
00:07:32 don’t hold grudges and that they don’t
00:07:34 create disputes M the um and also
00:07:41 um you know so to love one another and
00:07:44 to serve one another we don’t put if
00:07:46 we’re loving one another and serving one
00:07:48 another we’re not putting um stumbling
00:07:50 blocks in front of the blind as a
00:07:52 mockery we’re not uh and we’re not
00:07:56 cursing we’re definitely not cursing the
00:07:58 death that is that is the opposite of
00:08:01 loving one another and serving one
00:08:02 another so so you can see here how he’s
00:08:06 teaching the heart of the
00:08:09 law moving forward yep and also ye
00:08:13 yourselves will sucker those that stand
00:08:15 in need of your sucker you will
00:08:17 administer of your substance unto him
00:08:19 that standeth in need and you will not
00:08:21 suffer that the beggar putteth up his
00:08:23 petition to you in vain and turn him out
00:08:26 to
00:08:27 perish uh once again this is a
00:08:31 continuation a continuation idea a
00:08:34 continuation of the idea it was re
00:08:37 previously
00:08:39 presented and as further support for
00:08:43 this concept and how the children of
00:08:45 Israel along with uh along with the
00:08:50 Nephites how they were taught in the law
00:08:53 to do this is found in Leviticus 19:
00:08:57 9-10 this is an example
00:09:00 of something they could do verse n
00:09:02 starting in verse 9 and when ye reap the
00:09:05 Harvest of your land Thou shalt not
00:09:07 wholly reap the corners of thy field
00:09:10 neither shalt thou gather the gleanings
00:09:12 of thy Harvest and thou shalt not glean
00:09:15 thy Vineyard neither shalt thou gather
00:09:17 every grape of thy Vineyard Thou shalt
00:09:19 leave them for the poor and stranger I
00:09:22 am
00:09:24 Yim so basically in other
00:09:27 words they were not not to strip bear in
00:09:32 their Harvest they were to grab the
00:09:34 majority yes they were to
00:09:38 leave they were to leave for the they
00:09:40 were to leave and they were to leave on
00:09:42 their land for the poor together yeah um
00:09:45 and the point is and and so the you know
00:09:48 the point is is everybody work Everybody
00:09:50 Eats by the sweat of their brow yeah um
00:09:54 and this is this is a righteous
00:09:56 principle uh so
00:10:00 but at the same time we provide for
00:10:03 other from what the from what yah has
00:10:06 provided for us we provide for
00:10:08 others um and that and I’m sure we can
00:10:12 think of multiple ways that we can apply
00:10:15 this even if we don’t happen to have
00:10:17 Fields but the point remains
00:10:22 that um part of the law of tithing is
00:10:25 giving to the
00:10:26 poor part of the law of tithing
00:10:30 is for the Levites and part is for the
00:10:33 poor so you uh so I mean and so this is
00:10:39 the um this is the uh this is where
00:10:43 that’s where that’s where that sits
00:10:46 there yeah so um and
00:10:50 also this is and of course there’s the
00:10:53 surface level meaning here which is
00:10:55 talking about you know you pass somebody
00:10:58 who asks you for
00:11:02 money don’t give him the evil eye you
00:11:04 know what the evil eye is the evil eye
00:11:06 is not this one mystical thing it’s
00:11:08 actually just a um mean stingy eye that
00:11:13 doesn’t want to give the people uh that
00:11:17 is the evil eye so don’t give them the
00:11:19 evil
00:11:20 eye give them what they ask for
00:11:25 yeah go figure it’s not your PL and so
00:11:29 and as we’re going to find out here it’s
00:11:31 not your place to judge perhaps Thou
00:11:34 shalt say the man has brought upon
00:11:36 himself his misery therefore I will stay
00:11:39 my hand and I will not give onto him of
00:11:41 my food nor impart to him of my
00:11:43 substance that he may not suffer for his
00:11:45 punishments are
00:11:47 just you know what yah says about that
00:11:49 in
00:11:51 Torah ye shall do no unrighteousness in
00:11:55 judgment Thou shalt not respect the
00:11:57 person of the poor nor honor the person
00:11:59 person of the mighty but in
00:12:00 righteousness shalt thou judge Thy
00:12:02 Neighbor the other thing
00:12:07 is it’s not our place to decide we don’t
00:12:12 know the workings of anybody else’s mind
00:12:15 more than more often than not we don’t
00:12:17 even seem to know the workings of our
00:12:19 own mind at least um at least if what we
00:12:24 say about ourselves is true more often
00:12:27 than not we probably don’t understand
00:12:29 the workings of our own mind let alone
00:12:31 anybody
00:12:32 else’s so the so it is not our place to
00:12:37 judge what they will do our place is to
00:12:40 judge whether we should give to those in
00:12:44 need because remember we ourselves were
00:12:48 are always in need and Yahweh has
00:12:52 blessed us with substance with substance
00:12:55 so if we have more substance we should
00:12:58 give
00:12:59 if we have more than what we need and
00:13:02 than we need and we’re going to go into
00:13:04 that here
00:13:06 yeah but I say unto you oh man whosoever
00:13:10 doeth this the same hath great cause to
00:13:12 repent and why because of the wicked
00:13:15 judgment yes and except the evil
00:13:19 eye and except he repented of that which
00:13:22 he had done he perisheth forever and ha
00:13:26 no interest in the Kingdom of Elohim
00:13:29 for behold are we not all Beggars do we
00:13:32 not all depend upon the same being even
00:13:36 Elohim for all the substance which we
00:13:38 have for both food and rment and for
00:13:41 gold and for silver and for all the
00:13:43 riches which we have of every
00:13:45 kind and behold even at this time ye
00:13:49 have been calling on his name and
00:13:50 begging for a remission of your sins and
00:13:53 as he suffered that you begged in vain
00:13:56 nay he has poured out his Spirit upon
00:13:59 you and is caused that your heart should
00:14:01 be filled with joy and his caused that
00:14:03 your mouth should be stopped that you
00:14:06 could not find utterance so exceedingly
00:14:09 great was your joy well the interesting
00:14:11 thing
00:14:12 here uh as we close up this segment of
00:14:15 mosiah chapter
00:14:17 4 is that that’s what suult or the Feast
00:14:22 of Tabernacles is supposed to be yeah a
00:14:25 festival of joy that y
00:14:31 in spite of the fact that we haven’t
00:14:33 there’s nothing that we’ve done to earn
00:14:34 this yahwah has given us his
00:14:37 instructions on how to be like him yes
00:14:41 and there’s nothing we’ve done to earn
00:14:43 it there’s nothing that we’ve done to uh
00:14:47 there’s nothing that we’ve done to
00:14:54 U that could C that causes us to deserve
00:14:59 even the right to be as he is to come to
00:15:04 know him because we’ll be like
00:15:08 him and yet in his goodness graciousness
00:15:13 grace and mercy he has given us
00:15:16 instructions on how to walk out our
00:15:18 faith as you
00:15:21 know so many people that want to get
00:15:24 stuck in this in this argument about
00:15:27 Grace versus work works for salvation
00:15:30 and the point
00:15:32 is
00:15:34 um it’s not a valid
00:15:37 argument because technically if you look
00:15:40 at both sides you’re pitting the word of
00:15:43 God against itself well yes but more
00:15:51 importantly the Torah is instructions
00:15:54 for the walk in faith for those who have
00:15:57 been saved if one
00:15:59 looks at the Salvation pattern given by
00:16:04 the first
00:16:06 Exodus when were they
00:16:09 saved at
00:16:11 Passover when they came under the blood
00:16:13 of the Lamb put the blood of the Lamb
00:16:15 upon their doorstep upon their
00:16:18 doorposts that’s when they were saved
00:16:21 similarly just like that we’re saved
00:16:23 when we come under the blood of the Lamb
00:16:27 yeah so so that is by
00:16:31 faith that is by
00:16:33 faith and the work and the
00:16:39 works and the and the works of the law
00:16:42 and the law what they should be doing
00:16:44 day by day was not given to them until
00:16:47 after they had been
00:16:49 saved so it’s not a matter of Works
00:16:52 versus Grace for
00:16:55 salvation because
00:16:59 we do the works of the law because we
00:17:03 have been saved and we are grateful and
00:17:05 we have love for him who saved
00:17:12 us now for those in the restoration who
00:17:16 believe in the Book of Mormon I would
00:17:18 encourage you to consider what we’ve
00:17:20 said over these last couple of uh over
00:17:23 these last couple of U presentations
00:17:25 presentations and think and think upon
00:17:28 uh
00:17:29 think upon your state with regards to
00:17:34 uh do you love to keep his
00:17:37 Commandments do you yearn to walk in the
00:17:39 ways of
00:17:43 Holiness because if you
00:17:48 don’t you have some you need to work on
00:17:50 your
00:17:53 faith and you need to repent and you
00:17:55 need to remember the New Covenant go
00:17:58 forward
00:18:00 MH because you are under condemnation we
00:18:04 are all of us in the restoration are
00:18:06 under condemnation until we remember the
00:18:08 New
00:18:09 Covenant they shall remain under this
00:18:11 condemnation until they repent and
00:18:13 remember the New Covenant even the Book
00:18:16 of Mormon and the former Commandments
00:18:19 which I have given
00:18:22 them not only to say but to do according
00:18:27 to that which I have written the only
00:18:31 Commandments that yah wrote are the 10
00:18:35 with his finger and he wrote them with
00:18:37 his finger on tablets of blue
00:18:40 sapphire yes
00:18:44 now those that is the New Covenant that
00:18:48 is how we in the restoration come to
00:18:51 know the New Covenant is through the
00:18:53 Book of Mormon and the Old Testament
00:18:55 actually that’s the New Covenant law and
00:18:58 just now you you what’s the value of the
00:19:00 New Testament well that tells us that
00:19:03 teaches us that teaches us all about
00:19:05 salvation yes it teaches us all about um
00:19:10 it teaches us all about the grace of God
00:19:13 now all that’s in the Old Testament as
00:19:15 well because if it wasn’t in the Old
00:19:17 Testament it wouldn’t be true because
00:19:19 God doesn’t change now it’s all in the
00:19:21 Old Testament but it’s very well but
00:19:23 it’s more
00:19:27 um hidden
00:19:29 MH it’s more
00:19:31 obscured so and so it’s more open very
00:19:36 much more open in the New Testament and
00:19:37 in the Book of Mormon but all of the but
00:19:41 I’m telling but the thing is is
00:19:45 that Nephi and Lehi knew these things
00:19:51 because they were written on the brass
00:19:53 plates which
00:19:55 contained B
00:20:01 so the I want to leave that there for
00:20:04 you for your
00:20:06 consideration realize that you may have
00:20:10 been understanding your scriptures from
00:20:12 the wrong vantage point if you’re
00:20:15 looking at things from a Greek
00:20:17 perspective you’re going to be you’re
00:20:19 going to be skewed because the Greek
00:20:21 perspective is that we’re constantly
00:20:24 evolving con as a race we’re constantly
00:20:26 evolving constantly becoming more like
00:20:29 y y Elohim um and U just naturally and
00:20:35 therefore newer ideas are better than
00:20:36 older
00:20:38 ideas but the facts of the matter are
00:20:41 what has yo said about his
00:20:46 ways that they’re
00:20:48 unchanging there is nothing better there
00:20:52 is no higher law than the law which
00:20:55 David said was perfect
00:21:00 there is no higher law than a perfect
00:21:02 law you can’t have one you can’t find
00:21:06 one there is no such thing as degrees of
00:21:09 perfection Perfection is
00:21:12 perfection therefore since the the law
00:21:16 being perfect perhaps we should seek to
00:21:19 understand our
00:21:21 scriptures from the oldest
00:21:25 ideas because God’s mind and will does
00:21:28 not change
00:21:29 change and then bring it forward and
00:21:33 test your other scriptures against that
00:21:37 and
00:21:39 see whether they are not
00:21:46 true as opposed
00:21:49 to
00:21:50 um teaching as a as as opposed to
00:21:54 espousing a changing God who um oh wow
00:21:59 Yeshua came down it’s time to change
00:22:01 everything the whole system
00:22:05 is blow up the whole system that that’s
00:22:09 not the way y works that’s the way Satan
00:22:12 works oh something happened time blow up
00:22:14 the system and start a new one
00:22:17 yep oh what you what you don’t have
00:22:20 confidence that
00:22:22 um you don’t have you don’t have
00:22:24 confidence that I’ve got your best that
00:22:26 I’ve got your best um
00:22:30 that I have your best
00:22:32 uh interests at
00:22:34 heart oh well too
00:22:39 bad by the way that’s really that’s
00:22:41 really small sold of you you
00:22:45 know other ways that he makes you feel
00:22:47 guilty the devil is Prim the devil is
00:22:51 um
00:22:54 devil God will make you feel God will
00:22:57 make you feel guilty until you bent but
00:23:00 the devil just wants you to feel guilty
00:23:02 and terrible forever and ever and ever
00:23:05 so I so I would
00:23:08 suggest that perhaps it’s time to
00:23:11 revisit your scriptures and start with
00:23:13 the Old Testament this time yep then
00:23:16 read the New
00:23:17 Testament then read the book of
00:23:20 Mormon which by the way the subtitle
00:23:23 another Testament of Jesus Christ is a
00:23:25 really lousy subtitle yeah because it’s
00:23:28 not another
00:23:31 Covenant it
00:23:33 isn’t Testament means
00:23:36 Covenant yeah so another Testament of
00:23:38 Jesus Christ is really a lousy thing a a
00:23:42 better subtitle would be another witness
00:23:44 of the Covenant
00:23:52 yeah and uh so I just want to leave
00:23:55 those thoughts with you in the name of
00:23:56 Yeshua hamashiach me me

00:25:11 read tonight that truly is the heart of
00:25:14 the law right now we’ve focused a lot
00:25:17 the first two verses of of what we
00:25:20 focused on in the last
00:25:23 presentation
00:25:25 was showing how you can can uh magnify
00:25:31 the first subdiv or the first division
00:25:35 of Tor that should love the Lord thy God
00:25:38 with all thy heart might mind and
00:25:39 strength and this presentation was all
00:25:42 about how you can love your neighbor and
00:25:48 fulfill the second division of Torah
00:25:51 which is Thou shalt love thy neighbor as
00:25:55 thyself it’s really
00:25:59 it’s really
00:26:01 uh it’s really amazing the the things
00:26:04 that Yeshua um taught taught us and how
00:26:09 he made the law that much more simple to
00:26:15 understand um if uh he truly is a
00:26:19 great he truly is a great
00:26:22 Rabbi a great teacher Great Master of
00:26:26 the
00:26:27 law uh um and I just am grateful for
00:26:31 everything that he has done in
00:26:34 uh in
00:26:36 supporting uh and supporting this
00:26:38 ministry um and also seeking yahweh. org
00:26:42 and upholding us even um even when

00:27:21 have seen that it works for me as well
00:27:25 test it against the scriptures yeah also

00:27:29 because that’s what the scriptures are
00:27:31 there are for they’re the mind and will
