Most English translations of Revelation 21:22 incorrectly states there will be no temple during the Millennium. The King James Version is good sampling of these translations.

There are some translations that claim that there will be no sanctuary during the Millennium.

The Hebrew Gospels translation of Revelation 21:22 claims it should be a “house of prayer”.

Although the Greek word “G3485: naos“, from Revelation 21:22, can be translated as “temple”, it is not correct, because the prophecies about a Temple during the Millennium, thus “temple” can’t be the correct translation, because YHWH’s word does not contradict itself.

Another meaning of “G3485: naos” is shrine. According to the 1828 Webster’s Dictionary a shrine is a case or a box where sacred things are deposited, which is what the Ark of the Covenant is.

Ezekiel 40 – 48 is the fullest description of the Millennial Temple, and it’s artifacts, that I know of, and while it does mention a holy of holies, it does not mention the Ark of the Covenant being in the Millennial Temple. In addition how Ezekiel 43:7 mentions YHWH’s thone along with other scriptures listed above tell us how Yeshua / Jesus will sit on His throne to sit in judgement and rule, goes along with how Yeshua / Jesus will be the ark.

Taking all this information into account, and knowing that YHWH’s word does not contradict itself, below is my SJR Translation of Revelation 21:22.

Lets look into why Yeshua / Jesus can be considered to be the ARK. First thing to know is what is kept inside the Ark of the Covenant.

All these three items are characteristics of Yeshua / Jesus.
Manna is probably the easiest one to see, considering it is the bread that came from heaven, and Yeshua / Jesus said He is the bread of life.

Yeshua / Jesus is the perfect personification of Torah which is light and life of the world.
JST John 1:1-19 (KJV John 1:1-18)
A Power and hope through the Son
BA In the beginning all things were made by the Son
BB The gospel vs the law of Moses
BC Israel didn’t see the light and got the law of Moses
C John was before the Son
D John bear witness of the Son
E John bear witness of the Son
F Witness of Who never succumbed to the flesh
G When we receive light we become followers of the Son
H The world and Israel reject the MessiahJST John 1:1-19 (KJV John 1:1-18)
AA 1 In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son.
A-BA And the gospel was the Word [Torah],
A-BB and the Word [Torah] was with the Son,
A-BA and the Son was with God [Elohim],
A-BB and the Son was of God [Elohim].
AA 2 The same was in the beginning with God [Elohim].
-BAA 3 All things were made by Him;
-BA-B and without Him
-BAA was not anything made which was made.
-BBA 4 In him was the gospel,
-BBB and the gospel was the life,
-BBC and the life was the light of men;
-BCA 5 And the light shineth
-BC-B in the world,
-BC-B and the world
-BCA perceiveth it not.
–C 6 Then was a man [John] sent from God [Elohim],
—D whose name was John.
—-EA 7 The same [John] came into the world for a witness,
—-E-B to bear witness of the Light,
—-E–C to bear record of the gospel through the Son,
—-E-B unto all,
—-EA that through him [John] men might believe.
—–FA 8 He was not that Light,
—–FB but came to bear witness of that Light.
——GA 9 Which was the true Light,
——GB which lighteth every man who cometh into the world;
——-HAA 10 Even the Son of God.
——-HA-B He who was in the world,
——-HA-B and the world was made by Him,
——-HAA and the world knew Him not.
——-HBA 11 He came unto His own [Israel],
——-HBB and His own [Israel] received him not.
——GA 12 But as many as received Him,
——G-B to them gave He power to become the sons of God [Elohim];
——GA only to them who believe on His name [authority & character].
—–FA 13 He was born,
—–F-B not of blood,
—–F–C nor of the will of the flesh,
—–F-B nor of the will of man,
—–FA but of God [Elohim].
—-EA 14 And the same Word was made flesh,
—-E-B and dwelt among us,
—-E–C and we beheld His glory,
—-E-B the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father,
—-EA full of grace and truth.
—D 15 John bear witness of Him, and cried, saying,
–CA This was He of whom I spake;
–C-B He who cometh after me,
–C-B is preferred before me;
–CA for He was before me.
-BAA 16 For in the beginning was the Word [Torah], even the Son,
-BA-B who is made flesh,
-BA–C and sent unto us by the will of the Father.
-BA—DA And as many as believe on His name
-BA—DB shall receive of His fullness.
-BA–C And of His fullness have all we received,
-BA-B even immortality and eternal life,
-BAA through His grace.
-BBA 17 For the law [of Moses] was given through Moses,
-BBB but life and truth came through Jesus [Yeshua] Christ [the Messiah].
-BCA 18 For the law [of Moses] was after a carnal commandment,
-BC-B to the administration of death;
-BC-B but the gospel was after the power of an endless life,
-BCAA through Jesus [Yeshua] Christ [the Messiah],
-BCAB the Only Begotten Son,
-BCAC who is in the bosom of the Father.
AA 19 And no man hath seen God [Elohim] at any time,
AB except he hath borne record of the Son;
AC for except it is through Him no man can be saved.
The last item what was in the Ark of the Covenant was the Rod of Aaron, which represents Authority and Life.
Hebrews 2:17
A 17 Wherefore in all things [Torah]
-B it behoved Him [Yeshua] to be made like unto his brethren,
–C that he might be a merciful and faithful
-B high priest in things pertaining to God [Elohim],
A to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.Hebrews 4:14
AA 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest [Yeshua],
AB that is passed into the heavens,
BA Jesus [Yeshua] the Son of God [Elohim],
BB let us hold fast our profession.
In conclusion, I hope it is now obvious that there will be a Temple in the Millennium during Yeshua’s / Jesus’ reign. That Revelation 21:22 is stating that there will be no Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies, because Who it represents, Yeshua / Jesus, will be taking it’s place and will be sitting on His throne to rule and judge in it’s place.
