Yeshua / Jesus in Sermon on Torah, more known as Sermon on the Mount, along with Mark (JST 9:46-48)(KJV 9:47-48) teaches we are to remove our sinful desires and leaders that cause us to stumble or in other words sin.

Matthew (JST 5:31-33)(KJV 5:29-30) [Bolds and strikeouts are restorations]
AAA 31 Behold, I [Yeshua] give unto you [everyone] a commandment,
AAB that ye suffer none of these things [sins]
ABA to enter into your heart [desires, law],
ABB for it is better that ye should deny yourselves of these things [sins],
ACA wherein ye will take up your cross [diligence to YHWH & rejection of the world],
ACB than that ye should be cast into hell.
BAA 32 29 And Therefore, if thy right eye [desires, leaders] offend thee,
BAB pluck [repent, remove], it out and cast it from thee;
BBA for it is profitable [Torah] for thee
BBB that one of thy members [desires, leaders] should perish,
BCA and not that thy whole body [soul, church]
BCB should be cast into hell.
CAA 33 30 And Or if thy right hand [works] offend thee,
CAB cut it off and cast it from thee;
CBA for it is profitable [Torah] for thee
CBB that one of thy members [works, church] should perish,

AA 46 47 And if thine eye [leader] which seeth [direct] for thee,
AB him [leader] that is appointed [voted] to watch over [teach] thee to show thee light [Torah],
-BA become a transgressor [break Torah] and offend [cause to sin] thee,
-BB pluck [remove] it him [leader] out.
–CA 47 It is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God [Elohim],
–CB with one eye [without a leader],
–CA than having two eyes [with wicked leader]
–CB to be cast into hell fire.
-BA 48 For it is better that thyself should be saved,
-BB than to be cast into hell with thy brother [leader],
AA where their [wicked leaders] worm [hatred] dieth not,
AB and where the fire [judgement] is not quenched [removed].

In Moroni (LDS 7:19)(RLDS 7:18), Mormon tells us we should “search diligently in [Torah]” to be able to know what is good and what is evil. Yes, I did replace the word “light” with “Torah”. Proverbs 6:23 directly tells us that Torah is light. There are many more scriptures that show that light is symbolic of Torah at Torah is Light.

Moroni (LDS 7:19)(RLDS 7:18)
A 19 Wherefore, I [Mormon] beseech of you, brethren [believers],
-B that ye should search diligently
–C in the light [Torah] of Christ [Messiah]
—D that ye may know good from evil;
–C and if ye will lay hold upon every good thing [every word of YHWH],
-B and condemn it not,
A ye certainly will be a child [follower] of Christ [Messiah].

Proverbs 6:23
A For the COMMANDMENT is a LAMP;
B and the LAW [Torah] IS LIGHT;
C and REPROOFS of INSTRUCTION are the way of life:

Once we realize that the “light of the Messiah” is Torah, it totally makes sense why we are told to search the light which is Torah, it’s because YHWH’s Torah has been written down for the believers to search and read it to know the mind and will of YHWH Elohim to know what is right and wrong. YHWH’s Torah is found in the written word of YHWH Elohim and His holy prophets. The Oral Law / Torah of the Orthodox / Pharisee Jews is their own traditions that make YHWH’s Torah null and void.

Exodus 32:15-16
AA 15 And Moses turned, and went down from the mount,
A-B and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand:
A-B the tables were WRITTEN on both their sides;
AA on the one side and on the other were they WRITTEN.
BA 16 And the tables were the work of God [Elohim],
B-B and the WRITING was the WRITING of God [Elohim],
BA graven upon the tables.

Joshua 1:6-9
AA 6 Be strong and of a good courage:
A-B for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land,
A-B which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
AA 7 Only be thou strong and very courageous,
A-B that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law,
A–C which Moses my servant commanded thee:
A-B turn not from it to the right hand or to the left,
AA that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
-B 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth;
–C but thou shalt meditate therein day and night,

—D ACCORDING TO ALL THAT IS WRITTEN THEREIN:

Hebrews 10:16
A 16 This is the covenant that I [YHWH] will make with them after those days,
-B saith the Lord [YHWH],
-B I [YHWH] will put My [YHWH] laws [Torah] into their [believers] hearts,
A and in their [believers] minds will I [YHWH] write them;

Alma (LDS 37:20) (RLDS 17:51)
A 20 Therefore I command you,
-B my son [follower] Helaman,
–C that ye be diligent in fulfilling all my words,
-B and that ye be DILIGENT in KEEPING the COMMANDMENTS of GOD [ELOHIM]
A AS THEY ARE WRITTEN.

A 4 And they shall give heed to that which is WRITTEN,
-B and pretend to no other revelation;
-B and they shall pray always
A that I [YHWH] may unfold the same to their understanding.

After you learn what is right and wrong by searching and learning from YHWH’s written Torah you will be able to know what desires are wicked and thus will know which desires you need to remove. In addition when you know what is right and wrong you will be able know which leaders and teachers are leading people to sin and thus know which leaders and teachers you are to remove. One example of removing leaders because of their sins including the president of the church is found in D&C (LDS 107:81-84)(RLDS 104)(1835 3)(1844 3). Considering YHWH is telling us that even the president of the church could be removed brings out that they can lead us astray. You can find more scriptures on removing leaders at Church Government.

AA according to truth and righteousness.

The movie Ender’s Game gives us a very vivid image of plucking out the right eye. In the movie, the leader that is being plucked out is Satan. The clip below, from my Ender’s Game commentary timestamps 02H43M55S – 03H07M58S, you can find the whole commentary here, shows how the coming Mighty and Strong One will pluck out the world leader Satan along with judging Satan’s false traditions. The scene is setup by showing a rotten tree stump as a table to have a meal and enter a covenant. Not knowing any better the Mighty and Strong One tries both the knowledge of good and evil from Satan’s tree before he received help from YHWH and then was able to discern through Satan’s lies.
