00:00:21 on the gold plates and those who have um

00:00:30 book of mormon the earliest texts can

00:00:37 the little tilde that’s kind of fuzzy i
00:00:41 don’t know how long that’s good well
00:00:42 it’s gonna
00:00:42 come up um but that little tilde
00:00:47 shows it’s the beginning of a chapter on
00:00:50 on the actual gold plates um
00:00:54 in an interesting point the rlds
00:00:58 uh versifications kept these chapters
00:01:01 where the lds one does not
00:01:03 and one example i know off top my head
00:01:06 or the lds didn’t keep with those
00:01:07 chapters
00:01:08 is alma 13 and 35
00:01:13 26 because they have a chapter
00:01:16 on the book on the gold plates in the
00:01:18 middle of the chapter
00:01:19 of the book of mormon or of the lds

00:05:16 some people say miracles

00:05:25 and bible says yeah i’ve seen miracles
00:05:28 done among unbelievers
00:05:32 and that’s what caused them to believe
00:05:34 yeah the book of mormon states that’s
00:05:36 part of the reason they’re there and
00:05:38 that people did believe because of
00:05:40 miracles i could go look up the
00:05:42 i don’t know it off top my head but i
00:05:44 have it in my one note
00:05:46 but i know in the church that we both
00:05:48 grew up there’s a lot of people it says
00:05:50 uh they can’t perform miracles because
00:05:53 of the unbelievers and that’s just
00:05:55 that’s a lie and and they believe
00:06:00 that the members are the only ones that
00:06:03 have the holy
00:06:05 but i met many non-believers
00:06:08 that had the holy ghost attend them
00:06:12 yeah they’re so since you bring that one
00:06:16 up i do want to
00:06:16 sidetrack on this verse real quick brie
00:06:19 okay
00:06:20 you know along those lines uh nephi
00:06:24 raised his brother lehi in front of
00:06:26 non-believers
00:06:28 but the one about the having the spirit
00:06:31 i’m gonna side track us on that one

00:10:59 consciousness of his guilt so he knew

00:13:56 relates to what just happened with jesus

00:14:04 unto all that tremble and are angry
00:14:08 because of the truth of god
00:14:10 right right and i’ve had that experience
00:14:14 myself oh
00:14:16 no president oh that he
00:14:19 traveled oh yeah and he got
00:14:23 he he got shook up
00:14:26 so much that i could see
00:14:31 the spirit
00:14:34 leave the holy spirit
00:14:37 leave because when they go into fear
00:14:41 there’s a choice you can either submit
00:14:44 like zizram is submitting
00:14:48 to it or you can harden your heart even
00:14:52 more so and then
00:14:53 come against the individual
00:14:57 well the stake president spread his
00:15:00 cloak
00:15:01 you know his suit all right
00:15:05 and he was like i have
00:15:08 authority you know

00:16:19 shunning that happens when you leave i

00:16:26 personally he didn’t want to pay the
00:16:28 price that it takes
00:16:30 he told me in the last on the third time
00:16:33 when he said all right here you go
00:16:35 um he didn’t know who was right me or

00:16:40 so at least he was honest about that

00:16:51 to remember we’re to remember the ten

00:34:08 but i know and it goes along with
00:34:12 the third nephi when the lord himself is
00:34:15 teaching
00:34:17 about if it’s a man’s
00:34:20 name oh yeah church is the man’s name
00:34:23 then it’s church yeah so there’s there’s
00:34:27 two requirements so there’s the name
00:34:29 and the works and part of the works are
00:34:31 the works of
00:34:32 or the signs of believers which i
00:34:35 haven’t seen
00:34:36 in churches including the one i grew up
00:34:38 in the lds church
00:34:40 one of those signs is healings and
00:34:43 supposedly now we’re supposed to have
00:34:46 faith not to be healed
00:34:48 that’s contradictory but anyways let me
00:34:50 read this one verse and move on
00:34:52 well i personally i personally
00:34:55 have been a recipient of the healing
00:34:59 but it’s the individuals faith
00:35:02 combined with my faith because i had
00:35:06 the faith true and prepared
00:35:10 now there’s others that have worked and
00:35:12 they’ve had
00:35:13 faith as well and not seen
00:35:17 the results and i do not know the reason
00:35:20 for that
00:35:21 but i personally have
00:35:25 um in the heat of the moment the urgency
00:35:30 laid my hands on individuals
00:35:34 and it’s not the priesthood power no
00:35:36 it’s not you know that it had but it was
00:35:39 the power
00:35:39 of faith that i have
00:35:42 in yahweh’s authority so
00:35:46 um on that subject i have a
00:35:50 i don’t know if you’ve read abish a
00:35:51 woman healed the queen post that i have
00:35:54 um but in mosiah 27 a woman
00:35:58 healed the queen not a man
00:36:01 a woman um
00:36:06 yeah and i get into details how when
00:36:09 alma the um
00:36:12 younger when he went through a similar
00:36:15 experience
00:36:16 the priesthood couldn’t bring him back
00:36:19 but abish brought the queen back
00:36:23 so i
00:36:26 i think there’s a lot of misconceptions
00:36:28 about the priesthood
00:36:30 for sure um but yes
00:36:34 anyways okay so real quick i’ve seen
00:36:37 too many medals in my life oh
00:36:41 yeah they’re things aren’t quite
00:36:44 the way that they claim in fact even um
00:36:46 i bring this out in my holy ghost
00:36:48 holy spirit post that
00:36:52 in the early chapters of moroni it talks

00:36:56 people were um
00:37:01 set apart to their calling
00:37:04 and it was not the by the power of the
00:37:06 priesthood but the
00:37:07 power of the holy ghost

00:37:15 moroni
00:37:16 chapters maybe moroni 3 but we’re
00:37:19 sidetracking so

00:38:15 on that that gets into the lunar sabbath

00:38:19 those who believe in that have a verse
00:38:21 from ezekiel
00:38:22 that says it was closed on new moon days

00:38:25 anyways um
00:38:29 they serve another stranger within thy
00:38:30 gates for in six days the lord
00:38:34 made heaven and earth and the sea and
00:38:36 all that that
00:38:37 all that in them is wherefore the lord
00:38:41 blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it
00:38:43 honor thy father and thy mother that thy
00:38:46 days may be long upon the land
00:38:49 and the lord thy god thee giveth thee

00:39:50 observe the sabbath day and keep it holy

00:40:03 to god all the time right okay that’s
00:40:06 great
00:40:06 but still you’re supposed to keep the
00:40:09 sabbath
00:40:10 day and keep it holy and how do you keep
00:40:13 it holy
00:40:14 you separate it you make it so it’s not
00:40:17 common or you do
00:40:20 you sanctify it unto the lord and do
00:40:24 not your common work that you do on a
00:40:26 regular basis because otherwise how do
00:40:28 you make it different
00:40:29 if you’re just doing the same things you
00:40:30 are doing
00:40:32 all the other six days
00:40:35 and what i noted i agree um
00:40:39 what i noticed when i had
00:40:42 um active in the church
00:40:45 i had five callings at one time
00:40:49 okay and then i
00:40:53 was doing teaching on the sabbath
00:40:58 i was also taking a meal
00:41:02 to an individual you know once i heard
00:41:05 and really society
00:41:06 and so it was in need so go home cook
00:41:10 take that meal over there and i was
00:41:13 talking to mother and it was like
00:41:16 i’m so exhausted on sundays
00:41:21 i led music you know and then i’m
00:41:24 i’m running and nursing my baby and then
00:41:27 i’m working in nursery then i went and
00:41:30 led music
00:41:31 and released society and then
00:41:34 you know taught in primary and and i’m
00:41:37 like
00:41:38 where’s the rest where does it feel
00:41:42 like it’s really a holiness
00:41:47 get out the lds church gives us a lot of
00:41:51 busy work to keep us busy yes to the
00:41:54 point where we can
00:41:55 you know study and and figure things out
00:41:58 because we’re always so busy doing
00:42:00 things that we think we’re supposed to
00:42:02 so we put off studying god’s word um
00:42:05 and i i think that’s on purpose
00:42:08 personally
00:42:09 but i i think so too i enjoyed doing
00:42:12 home teaching uh on because i i
00:42:15 generally did it on sunday but i did it
00:42:17 on other days
00:42:18 too yes yeah but
00:42:21 i liked it but um
00:42:25 being under satan’s yoke
00:42:30 is being busy yes
00:42:34 yeah um
00:42:37 so i i completely agree if if we’re
00:42:42 for some reason for whatever reason
00:42:44 we’re too busy we don’t have time to
00:42:46 study and search god’s words
00:42:50 which then means meditate we’re going to
00:42:52 be
00:42:54 ignorant and hosanna or josiah i said

00:42:58 josiah teaches isaiah hosea
00:43:02 teaches us if we’re ignorant we’re going

00:43:58 in fact he’s the reason why i remember
00:44:00 it from that chapter now

00:44:05 see the other thing that
00:44:08 i remember is at the very beginning
00:44:13 of lehigh getting
00:44:16 a heads up of what actually
00:44:21 you know is going on to curse
00:44:25 jerusalem and
00:44:29 when he is through
00:44:32 he quakes oh i
00:44:36 i forgot about that i mean
00:44:40 one thing that i’ve noticed from what i
00:44:43 would
00:44:43 term lehi’s first vision there’s a lot
00:44:46 of parallels between lehigh’s first
00:44:48 vision and
00:44:48 and joseph smith’s first vision um
00:44:52 myself i see but i don’t remember him
00:44:56 lehigh quaking no i don’t remember oh
00:45:00 yes and then when lehi is talking
00:45:04 i turned to lehi first nephi uh
00:45:07 chapter 2 verse 14. lehi is talking
00:45:12 to layman and lemieux and
00:45:15 they shake before him
00:45:18 because of his
00:45:23 the words and the truth is pricking
00:45:26 them so along those lines one that i
00:45:30 remember
00:45:30 about and i forgot about this one but
00:45:32 the one that i remember is when alma the
00:45:34 younger
00:45:35 younger uh when the angel visited him
00:45:38 angel uh i do remember that one i forgot
00:45:43 about this one about layman and lemuel
00:45:48 in multiple places right
00:45:52 right here’s lehi’s that’s first nephi
00:45:54 chapter one verse
00:45:56 six and it came to pass
00:45:59 as he prayed unto the lord there came a
00:46:02 pillar of fire
00:46:04 and dwelt upon a rock before him and he
00:46:07 saw and heard
00:46:11 much and because
00:46:14 of the things which he saw
00:46:17 and heard he did quake
00:46:20 and tremble exceedingly i forgot that
00:46:24 lehigh did that
00:46:26 i mean i remember the pillar but i
00:46:27 forgot about the quaking
00:46:30 yeah and he he was a righteous
00:46:34 well not perfect but i would
00:46:37 probably say better than i am because he
00:46:39 he grew up with the law
00:46:41 he didn’t have a lot of unlearning
00:46:44 that he had to do as much as you and i
00:46:47 do and my personal opinion so i think he
00:46:49 was
00:46:50 probably a lot better person than
00:46:53 you were or have been i think they
00:46:56 perverted it
00:46:57 i mean the jews yeah yeah he could have
00:47:02 and he could have been brought up under
00:47:04 false
00:47:05 traditions of the fathers yeah you know
00:47:08 that’s an
00:47:08 unbelief
00:47:14 perverted things too that is very true
00:47:17 so maybe he was kind of
00:47:19 so bad
00:47:23 really bad to the point of destruction
00:47:26 and slavery that’s you know that’s a
00:47:29 very good point
00:47:30 i guess maybe i was putting lehigh in a

00:47:58 the wilderness he didn’t
00:48:00 something along those lines i don’t
00:48:01 remember the exact
00:48:03 word right and also um
00:48:06 what really it
00:48:10 it touched me because we were led by the
00:48:13 spirit to leave
00:48:14 everything okay so i related
00:48:19 to second knee i mean first nephi
00:48:22 um second chapter
00:48:25 verse four where here is
00:48:28 this individual he had status
00:48:32 a reputation comfort
00:48:35 oh yeah okay you’re
00:48:38 left it all so once he
00:48:42 was shown the real picture
00:48:45 hey this is what really
00:48:48 is going on and
00:48:51 shackler coming off of you i’m setting
00:48:54 you free
00:48:57 you have a choice and he made the choice
00:49:02 so then and then
00:49:06 he lives in a tent
00:49:09 verse 15. he doesn’t try to go
00:49:12 and build him something better
00:49:16 for comfort and go back he was
00:49:20 supposed to stay because i would
00:49:24 i don’t think once they got to the
00:49:26 promised land that he stayed in a tent
00:49:29 um and also i think that the phrase
00:49:33 my father dwelt in the tent i think
00:49:35 relates back to the tabernacle which we
00:49:38 could talk about
00:49:42 um
00:49:44 when it’s talked about when those
00:49:45 phrases is used
00:49:48 i believe they were next to mount sinai
00:49:51 um in fact the and it’s used during the
00:49:54 tree of life visions
00:49:56 around that time uh first nephi 8 and
00:49:59 then what is it 11 12 13 and 14
00:50:02 for e5 but i believe they were
00:50:05 near mount sinai and
00:50:08 i don’t see this so much and nephi’s
00:50:13 vision of tree of life but
00:50:16 in lehi’s tree of life vision i see a
00:50:18 lot of connections
00:50:19 to moses
00:50:22 and mount sinai him going through the
00:50:25 cloud
00:50:27 and nephi going through a mist moses had
00:50:30 to go through a cloud
00:50:32 to go get then go see the lord so did
00:50:35 lehi but a lot of people which is sad
00:50:39 will claim that well this person in
00:50:41 white
00:50:42 who i believe is yeshua because white
00:50:45 has to do with righteousness
00:50:47 in fact in lehi or nephi’s tree
00:50:51 of life vision he relates someone else
00:50:54 who wasn’t
00:50:55 all dressed in wine it was john the
00:50:56 revelator and he’s righteous
00:50:59 i don’t see that the one in
00:51:02 lehi’s tree of life deceiving
00:51:05 he’s just going through the process that
00:51:07 we all have to go through and that moses
00:51:09 went through
00:51:11 moses on the mount had to go through the
00:51:13 cloud the mist
00:51:15 just like we all have to go through
00:51:16 temptations moses had to do it too
00:51:19 it’s just it’s bringing out the process
00:51:22 that we all have to do
00:51:24 to and part of that process is making it
00:51:27 so we can make
00:51:28 a decision do we want to follow god or
00:51:30 do we want to follow our temptations
00:51:32 this is second e52 brings out
00:51:35 right are you talking
00:51:38 about when he’s following a man
00:51:41 in white and he is brought to the
00:51:44 wasteland
00:51:46 no i mean it’s like for hours he’s in
00:51:50 i’d have to go get the verses but that’s
00:51:52 it but he’s brought into
00:51:53 a mist of darkness and he can’t he
00:51:56 doesn’t know where he’s going
00:51:59 um and then he prays when he’s in the
00:52:01 midst right
00:52:02 um right uh
00:52:05 the dreary land might be part of it but
00:52:08 the part that i’m focusing on
00:52:10 is the the mist and the
00:52:14 um the cloud that he had to go through
00:52:18 uh let’s see first lord layman number i
00:52:21 fear i stood mistake
00:52:23 followed him behold i was
00:52:26 in a dark and dreary ways after
00:52:28 traveling
00:52:30 how many hours he began to pray mercy me
00:52:32 and it came to pass
00:52:35 uh it’s not saying the mist there no
00:52:39 it talks about the waste yeah
00:52:43 the jury wastes land
00:52:46 nothing’s producing
00:52:51 but the the he does talk about the the
00:52:53 mist of darkness
00:52:54 later i believe so yes that’s in the
00:52:57 vision
00:53:04 for those that let go of the iron rod
00:53:08 so but we’d have to go look
00:53:11 doesn’t the mist of darkness lead us
00:53:13 into the dark and dreary
00:53:19 see i don’t know
00:53:22 um i took it that he i could see
00:53:26 how we have been taught to rely on a man
00:53:30 trust in the man
00:53:32 that they were taught the same
00:53:35 game the same rules
00:53:39 and he was learning well wait a minute
00:53:43 i have been relying on man more
00:53:47 than my way um
00:53:52 no i i do think you’re right um i maybe
00:53:55 put
00:53:55 lehigh in a bit of a pedestal that maybe
00:53:58 he was
00:53:59 not following the traditions but i think
00:54:01 you have a good point there’s a good
00:54:02 chance he
00:54:03 probably was following some if not all
00:54:06 of the false traditions and then maybe
00:54:08 that’s partly why it got
00:54:10 to him uh so verse 23 brings up the myst
00:54:13 in the midst of darkness say
00:54:14 an exceeding great mist of darkness
00:54:16 instruments who
00:54:18 commenced in the path did lose their way
00:54:20 and wandered off and were lost
00:54:22 and it came to pass they were pressing
00:54:24 forward and came and caught hold of the
00:54:26 end of the
00:54:27 rod of iron they did press forward
00:54:30 through the mist
00:54:32 so moses had to go through a mist the
00:54:35 cloud
00:54:37 clinging to the word clinging to the rod
00:54:40 of iron until they did go forth and
00:54:42 partake of the tree
00:54:44 so some traditions state that
00:54:48 i mean this is not scriptural this is
00:54:50 extra that there was a tree on top of
00:54:52 the mount that
00:54:53 moses went to
00:54:58 it’s extra biblical um i tend to
00:55:01 believe it though but i can’t prove it
00:55:04 with
00:55:05 um and because i
00:55:09 also because i believe in the polar
00:55:11 configuration it completely fits
00:55:14 and also if you go to
00:55:17 nephi’s tree of life vision um
00:55:21 i think it makes that clear also of the
00:55:24 tree
00:55:25 um but anyways so it’s a little bit
00:55:29 going to remember but i i do think
00:55:31 though
00:55:32 um so um they had only traveled three
00:55:37 days
00:55:38 in the wilderness this is why i think uh
00:55:41 a certain way okay they
00:55:44 had gotten to a valley
00:55:48 a low area okay
00:55:51 and i see with the verse
00:55:55 15 and verse nephi 2
00:55:59 that and my father dwelt in a tent
00:56:04 and that is just one
00:56:09 verse it’s separated
00:56:12 okay i don’t know if it was separated
00:56:17 in the original all right but because
00:56:20 it’s
00:56:20 separated what came to my mind
00:56:23 is he had a decision it’s only three
00:56:27 days journey
00:56:29 he could have returned back to the
00:56:31 comfort life
00:56:33 even knowing that it could be destroyed

00:56:41 take the time while he was dwelling

00:56:50 that hit and build a
00:56:55 comfortable shed

00:57:01 i think he had the knowledge
00:57:06 he could have uh so he had the manpower

00:57:17 that he couldn’t stay there personally

00:57:31 had the tree life
00:57:33 vision happen is in the same location

01:00:36 psalms teaches that
01:00:39 torah is light okay
01:00:43 and uh is the word and torah
01:00:47 is the word it’s the way and the word is
01:00:49 the lamp and to my feet
01:00:51 yep and so i i find it to go along with

01:00:55 saying brie is this the the parable of
01:00:58 the ten
01:00:59 virgins right those who
01:01:02 basically had and knew and kept the law
01:01:06 and then the ten or the five that
01:01:08 couldn’t
01:01:09 the five that did it
01:01:12 went to the wedding the five that didn’t
01:01:15 couldn’t go to the wedding
01:01:17 and so i think that goes along with what
01:01:19 i think you’re bringing out the order
01:01:21 of the law and then the marriage
01:01:25 yeah well and then you brought out
01:01:29 the fact that there’s three days
01:01:33 journey that you have
01:01:36 to be able to offer
01:01:39 a sacrifice and then the first nephi
01:01:42 chapter
01:01:43 5 verse 9 go on your own altar
01:01:46 like what he’s doing after
01:01:49 his son’s return with the law
01:01:53 oh is it after i couldn’t remember when
01:01:56 it so it’s after they come back with the
01:01:57 law huh
01:01:59 but yeah it comforts sariah

01:02:06 because she was she was not quite
01:02:09 converted completely even though she
01:02:11 went along with
01:02:12 the plan i’m sure i think this shows
01:02:15 that she had her doubts

01:02:26 not a positive i know i’m a visionary

01:03:08 okay so they’re rejoicing and then
01:03:12 did offer sacrifice and burnt offerings
01:03:16 unto the lord and they gave thanks
01:03:19 unto god of israel
01:03:23 then a search
01:03:27 through the records
01:03:34 you know that’s a good point because i

01:03:42 they would know it some back then the
01:03:45 scriptures were a lot harder to
01:03:46 reproduce so

01:03:52 he he didn’t have his uh quad right
01:03:55 because no he had to rely
01:03:58 on the priests

01:04:36 as maybe he could have because he didn’t

01:04:40 he went and searched it right yeah right

01:04:45 so grateful that he is

01:05:13 of yahweh and meditate upon them

01:05:25 to learn to read until i was 19 years

01:05:30 and i cried and struggled and
01:05:33 fasted to be able to be given
01:05:38 the gift and ability
01:05:41 to read his words
01:05:44 and so i don’t know
01:05:48 when i read about lehigh
01:05:52 and and them rejoicing holding the
01:05:55 record
01:05:56 i get emotional i’m sorry
01:06:00 well i i can see that um
01:06:05 i i don’t get quite so emotional about
01:06:07 it but i have a different history
01:06:12 i i grew up in the church
01:06:16 my mom was a believer my dad

01:06:32 across the street from my grandparents

01:06:38 and i wanted to go i enjoyed it

01:06:46 i grew up in the church so um

01:06:53 tabernacle choir i always forget the

01:07:11 oh there at least at that point there
01:07:14 was a
01:07:14 baptistery font in there that i i don’t

01:07:18 why i was done there because my
01:07:22 chapel or the steakhouse which where i

01:07:25 a baptismal fawn so i don’t know why i
01:07:27 went there but
01:07:28 it’s kind of cool it’s a special place

01:07:34 right but anyways
01:07:37 i i’ve always been a believer

01:07:44 still don’t in fact i believe it more

01:07:48 to be honest um look at us

01:08:03 um i’ve gotten help

01:08:09 just try to give back
01:08:13 because sometimes there’s people that
01:08:14 just don’t know that there’s a problem
01:08:17 and they don’t know where to look and
01:08:21 you just need sometimes people just need
01:08:23 a little pointer
01:08:24 i did i just needed a little point
01:08:28 and i’m grateful for the help that some
01:08:31 even though if i don’t agree with them
01:08:32 on everything
01:08:34 i am grateful for the time that they
01:08:36 spent
01:08:37 writing blogs or chatting with me or

01:08:42 to help me get pointed in the right
01:08:44 direction

01:09:32 from him but it just doesn’t make a lot
01:09:35 of sense to me
01:09:36 but when i started looking outside the
01:09:38 orthodox like hebrew roots or
01:09:40 some messianics and some karate and a
01:09:43 lot of
01:09:44 different places it when i let
01:09:48 stop trying to get the orthodox to make
01:09:50 sense which is based on false traditions
01:09:53 it started opening up to me so i
01:09:56 i went through my own opening learning
01:09:59 process on that but i did get some help
01:10:01 in
01:10:02 pointing me and at least in the general
01:10:04 right direction
01:10:06 and i’m grateful for rob on that um
01:10:10 we disagree some but um overall we both
01:10:13 believe in torah in the book of mormon
01:10:16 which is the important thing right right

01:11:18 the church was teacher
01:11:20 i mean i went off the lesson plan but if

01:11:29 oh i know they will not answer your
01:11:32 question
01:11:32 they’ll say okay can we get back to the
01:11:34 subject
01:11:37 or that was not the answer i was looking

01:11:41 and then it makes you feel like okay

01:11:44 i won’t volunteer to answer any more of

01:11:48 if i’m going to be wrong and i think

01:12:23 and i i just i have a hard time with

01:12:36 where we have questions or where the
01:12:38 spirit
01:12:39 leads and directs us not that we’re

01:12:47 except led by the spirit you know

01:12:55 yeah so part of no
01:12:58 a jewish tradition some christians do it
01:13:01 but it’s
01:13:02 a jewish tradition which i do
01:13:05 on my own i don’t do it here on these
01:13:07 here but they’ll study
01:13:09 portions of the torah specific torsions
01:13:12 week to week and so people around the
01:13:14 whole world are studying the same
01:13:16 same verses in torah at the same time
01:13:20 that’s what partially sounds like pdf

01:13:23 where they want everybody on the same
01:13:25 lesson
01:13:27 basically and i i follow it on my own
01:13:31 but i won’t
01:13:32 i’m not going to dictate that here in
01:13:34 these calls
01:13:36 but the reason they do it is to try to
01:13:38 make sure that people go
01:13:40 through the whole torah which is fine
01:13:42 that’s good
01:13:43 but i think it’s more important to
01:13:45 search and study
01:13:47 more like we’re doing especially when
01:13:49 we’re doing it as a group
01:13:51 um and i don’t think we should have a
01:13:54 set
01:13:54 structure on what to study because
01:13:56 that’s a tradition of man
01:13:58 that’s that’s nowhere right where it

01:14:03 in fact if anything there
01:14:06 are some verses in torah when the people
01:14:08 came to the levites every couple years
01:14:10 and the levites read through the
01:14:12 scriptures
01:14:13 from beginning to end of torah to make
01:14:15 sure they all heard
01:14:16 it and not just what the priests taught
01:14:21 to make sure that they knew it because
01:14:22 they didn’t have their own copy
01:14:24 right right
01:14:27 we’re supposed to search it and say it
01:14:29 because the scriptures don’t say
01:14:31 read the scriptures they say search it
01:14:33 search
01:14:34 and ponder meditate yeah
01:14:37 and meditating is thinking upon it it’s
01:14:40 not emptying your mind like
01:14:42 the eastern occult religions teach it’s
01:14:46 scripturally speaking meditation is
01:14:48 thinking upon
01:14:50 these verses and to know how to apply it
01:14:53 and what they’re saying
01:14:56 and how to live it but anyways and look
01:14:59 at
01:14:59 them as look at them
01:15:03 as individuals with
01:15:06 struggles with weaknesses with stress
01:15:10 the process that they had to go through
01:15:13 it wasn’t just one step and you were

01:15:21 in fact we see that with abraham isaac
01:15:23 and jacob they went through
01:15:25 their process of coming to doc
01:15:28 god is recorded for everybody to read
01:15:32 it’s not about being perfect when you

01:15:35 seeking his way
01:15:39 and then following it even though
01:15:42 that right from a different tradition
01:15:45 because
01:15:45 abraham’s father was a complete pagan
01:15:50 but yes for whatever reason abraham was
01:15:53 woken up by god and said
01:15:55 there’s a better way let me teach it to
01:15:58 you and he followed even when it was
01:16:00 hard
01:16:00 he made mistakes along the way as i have
01:16:09 so he had vision okay so he had dreams
01:16:14 okay so he spoke with the lord
01:16:17 but oh you mean his hunger pains

01:17:40 they claim that they’re

01:17:51 and they’re told that they’re sealed to
01:17:54 salvation there’s nothing they can do
01:17:56 except murder to not right nothing
01:17:59 they can do all the other sins right
01:18:02 and they’ll be buffeted but they’ll
01:18:04 still go to heaven right but they’ll be
01:18:05 forgiven
01:18:06 there was a there was a guy
01:18:10 that was in england or someplace and he
01:18:12 got his second anointing
01:18:14 yeah and he was uh what’s the word
01:18:18 he was disappointed disappointed with it
01:18:21 that’s a good word for it and i think he
01:18:22 did a mormon
01:18:24 stories three
01:18:27 series on it um but there’s been others
01:18:30 but
01:18:31 i think his is the most famous one on

01:18:34 he would they talk it up so much in fact

01:18:42 in the first president state that they
01:18:44 had this sacred experience that they

01:18:50 wife anoints
01:18:51 them it’s not seeing christ it’s the
01:18:54 second anointing that they
01:18:55 say is so sacred it’s not
01:18:58 in the early days of the brigham young

01:19:02 they used to give it to all the members
01:19:03 and then later they are breaking up

01:19:13 um in the early days with brigham young

01:19:17 us every member and then later it
01:19:20 changed into the only be given to the
01:19:22 elite

01:22:17 angel with a flaming sword one or two

01:22:26 two that unless you keep
01:22:28 this because joseph smith didn’t want to
01:22:30 i’m gonna have to
01:22:31 take you out now yeah what are we taught
01:22:34 about
01:22:35 prayer that together emma
01:22:39 is condemned if she doesn’t accept
01:22:42 it oh yeah that has lots of problems
01:22:44 because first of all it
01:22:46 late i don’t remember the verses but
01:22:48 we’ll just focus on that a little bit
01:22:49 that you need your wife’s permission
01:22:52 joseph smith apparently keep it right
01:22:54 kept it hidden from emma he didn’t get
01:22:56 his wife’s permission and if the wife
01:22:58 doesn’t give permission you don’t have
01:22:59 to do it
01:23:00 but he still did it you don’t get it
01:23:02 that’s another prediction
01:23:04 but the one i’m focusing on verse 1
01:23:08 is the story about the
01:23:11 how he received it joseph smith didn’t
01:23:13 want to keep it
01:23:14 right and that’s why the angel came and
01:23:16 said you keep this or i’m going to kill
01:23:17 you
01:23:18 in first man
01:23:23 also the key word that i see
01:23:26 is doctrine
01:23:29 as if there was a doctrine
01:23:33 no and there wasn’t i mean
01:23:38 on that point you know joseph smith book
01:23:40 of mormon and taurus
01:23:42 talk that if someone says something that
01:23:43 contradicts a previous
01:23:45 revelation that they’re not of god yep
01:23:49 and so this is contradicting jacob ii
01:23:52 jacob ii in fact the whole book of
01:23:56 mormon speaks against polygamy
01:23:58 but jacob the last half is that the mall
01:24:01 the one that most probably speaks
01:24:04 against it
01:24:04 right but back to the prayer part
01:24:08 and how the story goes that joseph smith
01:24:11 didn’t want to keep it
01:24:12 he wasn’t willing to he was gonna he had
01:24:14 to have an angel
01:24:15 force him to keep it that goes against
01:24:18 the idea well that agency but real
01:24:22 intent
01:24:24 book of mormon dnc teach we need to have
01:24:27 real intent
01:24:29 before we get an answer to our prayer
01:24:31 yeah so
01:24:32 what what good is it
01:24:36 if someone is forced right
01:24:39 stories showing that
01:24:42 supposedly joseph had to be forced into
01:24:45 keeping this
01:24:45 shows that he didn’t have real intent
01:24:47 when he prayed for this which
01:24:49 contradicts
01:24:50 him being able to get an answer to his
01:24:53 prayers
01:24:55 so the very right has problems
01:24:58 real intent right when you put all the
01:25:01 pieces together
01:25:02 dnc 132 is complete
01:25:06 bogus it’s all lie anyways

01:25:14 came out of
01:25:18 um the fog i guess sure
01:25:22 well no it’s not called fog the spirit
01:25:25 is saying the gross darkness
01:25:28 it’s in section 84. the gross darkness

01:25:49 under sin and if we’re in bondage under

01:53:43 statements are trying to give us

01:54:15 that’s what nephi
01:54:19 nephi said he was taught in the language

01:54:35 first thing five verse one i mean first
01:54:37 name five chapter one verse one
01:54:40 um that he says that right is taught in
01:54:42 the language of my father
01:54:44 um right
01:54:47 because i that’s important when you’re
01:54:49 reading the hebrew
01:54:51 text to understand the way the hebrews
01:54:53 think and said things
01:54:55 because if you don’t things are going to
01:54:57 go
01:54:58 and see healing taught
01:55:04 helaman but his sons
01:55:07 the same thing i see
01:55:10 that throughout the book of mormon where
01:55:14 the fathers make it

01:56:09 that the fathers are putting more effort
01:56:11 into teaching their prosperity than
01:56:14 other people because they have a a
01:56:18 greater responsibility
01:56:19 to their children than they do everybody
01:56:21 else
01:56:23 yeah to keep the records right well
01:56:26 in this case yes they had the
01:56:28 responsibility of keeping the records
01:56:30 but
01:56:30 i’m just talking in general uh we have a
01:56:34 responsibility to help
01:56:35 everybody that we can but we have a
01:56:37 greater responsibility to help
01:56:40 our direct family like our spouse and
01:56:42 our children

01:56:56 where he says i make a record in the
01:56:59 language of my father which

01:57:07 the learning of the jews

02:02:15 uh verse one is that they expounded
02:02:19 the scriptures i mean they say unfold

02:02:24 explained it he went into depth he
02:02:26 didn’t just read it
02:02:27 and then say okay we’re good he
02:02:29 explained it to people the main
02:02:32 connection
02:02:33 he explains beyond that
02:02:37 so he built upon
02:02:40 that foundation that amulek set
02:02:45 right and i think that’s what a lot of
02:02:47 expounding is
02:02:48 is building upon the foundation and
02:02:50 showing how
02:02:51 although it says this it means all of
02:02:54 this
02:02:55 right or
02:02:58 kind of like we’ve done so that goes
02:03:00 back to what
02:03:02 you were leading me showing me
02:03:05 throughout the book warm
02:03:09 and ever since she appointed fulfilled
02:03:12 me didn’t mean
02:03:13 accomplish is done away that yeshua
02:03:17 actually
02:03:21 taught the people
02:03:24 from that foundation he gave to the
02:03:27 israelites he explained
02:03:30 things beyond
02:03:34 um well in the hebrew
02:03:37 context and even the greek fulfill
02:03:41 can and does mean teach
02:03:44 and i i mean there’s multiple examples
02:03:48 of that in the book of mormon
02:03:50 right um but since you bring it up let
02:03:53 me share one
02:03:55 second nephi 31 5 through 10
02:03:59 is i think is a very good example i
02:04:01 don’t know if i’ve shown this one to you
02:04:03 or not
02:04:06 but this one this is uh nephi
02:04:10 right just before it closes up his
02:04:11 record and he wants to bring out some
02:04:13 real important things
02:04:16 and in this verse he’s talking about uh
02:04:19 john the baptist
02:04:20 and jesus christ but in here in these
02:04:23 verses
02:04:24 he brings out um fulfill but then he
02:04:27 also
02:04:29 shows how how christ fulfilled
02:04:33 and it goes on how he showeth unto the
02:04:36 children of men
02:04:37 according to the flesh that he humbled
02:04:39 himself to the father
02:04:40 and witness well let me just read it and
02:04:44 now
02:04:44 if the lamb of god he being holy should
02:04:47 have need to be baptized to
02:04:48 water to fulfill all righteousness
02:04:52 right i mean what is it moroni
02:04:55 8 25 brings out how we are fulfilling
02:04:59 the commandments when we’re baptized and
02:05:00 here’s jesus
02:05:01 fulfilling but how is he fulfilling
02:05:05 all righteousness oh then how much more
02:05:08 need
02:05:09 have we being unholy to be baptized yeah
02:05:12 even by water
02:05:13 and now i would ask of you my beloved
02:05:16 brother wherein the lamb of god
02:05:17 did fulfill all righteousness in being
02:05:20 baptized by water know ye not that he

02:05:25 notwithstanding he being holy he showeth
02:05:29 so this is where he’s you know a lot of
02:05:32 people
02:05:32 say um teach use words when necessary
02:05:37 right because you you teach by what
02:05:39 you’re doing
02:05:40 he showeth unto the children of men
02:05:43 according to the flesh
02:05:45 he humbles himself before the father and
02:05:48 witness unto the father that he would be
02:05:50 obedient
02:05:51 unto him and keeping his commandments

02:06:22 men the straightness of the path

02:06:36 before them and so here’s another

02:06:42 teaching before them
02:06:44 and he said unto the children of men

02:06:48 and follow means imitate wherefore my

02:06:56 be willing to keep the commandments of

02:08:17 and so this chapter is like nephi
02:08:20 uh just before he gives the record to
02:08:23 the doctrine

02:08:27 doctrine of christ in it but
02:08:28 at this point he’s talking about how
02:08:30 jesus is going to be baptized
02:08:32 by john the baptist and he’s
02:08:36 going off and
02:08:39 i don’t know if purposely or just
02:08:41 happening that he goes off and shows us
02:08:43 how fulfill
02:08:45 is teaching and in this point he
02:08:48 is by example in this in these verses
02:08:52 because he
02:08:55 i think this is a good passage to show
02:08:57 that fulfill
02:09:00 means teach because jesus went around
02:09:02 teaching
02:09:03 and and we teach by our example
02:09:06 and that’s how he goes through at this
02:09:08 in the like verse
02:09:10 7 and beyond that he
02:09:13 show us the example how to be and that’s
02:09:16 how he taught he taught with his words
02:09:18 and by example
02:09:21 okay so i’m going to read it ii 5 31
02:09:25 5-10 and now if the lamb of god
02:09:29 he being holy should have need to be

02:11:07 that example is the best way to teach
02:11:10 right that’s right an example is showing
02:11:14 um so i think i’m in verse 8 now

02:12:05 and we teach with our example before

02:12:09 and he said unto the children of men

02:12:13 me now follow means imitate
02:12:17 it doesn’t it i do yeah do as i do
02:12:21 uh imitate it doesn’t just mean
02:12:25 like in the game um
02:12:29 simon says well i guess it kind of does
02:12:31 and that but
02:12:32 it’s not just that you’re walking on the
02:12:34 path but you’re becoming the same type
02:12:36 of person and doing the same things
02:12:39 right um
02:12:42 you have to become like not just say the
02:12:45 same things but become
02:12:47 the same thing um fact
02:12:50 on that point i think the gospel is more
02:12:53 about being
02:12:54 along with be ye perfect yes
02:12:58 yeah um i i think the gospel is more
02:13:01 about becoming
02:13:03 rather than just knowing some
02:13:07 nice little words to say it doesn’t
02:13:09 matter if you say the words it matters
02:13:10 if you become like
02:13:12 the words and
02:13:16 there is power in being like christ
02:13:19 there is power in the way
02:13:23 the book of mormon says there’s and i
02:13:25 can get the verses
02:13:26 if you want but there’s power in the
02:13:30 holy ghost
02:13:31 and you agree with me that the holy
02:13:33 ghost is the word of god the mind of god
02:13:36 his way his plan and the book of mormon
02:13:40 also says there’s power in the word
02:13:46 absolutely absolutely
02:13:50 but there’s power behind the words
02:13:52 because we are
02:13:53 living the words that’s only when it’s
02:13:55 applied
02:13:57 right you don’t get the power by just
02:13:59 saying it
02:14:00 you get the power when you live it we’re
02:14:03 playing
02:14:03 it because you understand it okay you
02:14:07 can hear the word
02:14:11 uh go ahead and finish your thought bree

02:14:18 the word but
02:14:21 it doesn’t mean anything if you are not
02:14:25 taking that word

02:14:45 lectures on faith

02:14:53 along part of the reason why people
02:14:55 believed the people in their words is
02:14:57 because they could see that that’s what
02:14:59 they were
02:14:59 doing and it’s who they were they had
02:15:02 the reputation that they actually
02:15:04 believed it and did it
02:15:06 that’s where the power is because if you
02:15:07 say one thing and then you don’t
02:15:09 believe it you’re taking the lord’s name
02:15:12 in vain
02:15:13 and you’re making it so people won’t
02:15:16 want to believe it
02:15:17 like amma kind of chewed out coriantom
02:15:21 for doing for teaching it but not living
02:15:23 it and he
02:15:24 almost says you’re making it so people
02:15:26 won’t believe it
02:15:28 or won’t even hear him yeah right um
02:15:31 and so it there is no power
02:15:35 fruits you shall know them yeah in your
02:15:38 fruits or actions it’s your
02:15:40 righteousness like
02:15:42 in first nephi eight it ties whiteness
02:15:45 to the fruit and whiteness has to do
02:15:47 with righteousness or
02:15:48 keeping the commandments right and the
02:15:51 thanks to the con
02:15:53 sanctification from the holy spirit
02:15:56 yeah i i mean it goes along with the
02:15:59 atonement
02:16:00 which is given to those who are
02:16:03 going away from their sins because the
02:16:05 book of mormon makes it clear we’re
02:16:06 saved
02:16:07 from our sins not in our sins it anyways

02:16:15 more and more but um like in isaiah yeah

02:16:19 isaiah right he will make our
02:16:22 i don’t remember the exact phrase but

02:16:26 white as snow white because we come

02:16:33 because of his righteousness as in
02:16:36 second nephi too brings out with us lehi
02:16:39 brings out to his son jacob
02:16:41 it’s not our righteousness we need to be
02:16:43 righteousness
02:16:45 righteous but it’s not our righteousness
02:16:47 that saves us
02:16:48 it’s yeshua’s and it’s because he never
02:16:52 sinned that he could save us because
02:16:56 he did not deserve death and that’s why
02:16:58 he could break the bounds
02:17:00 of death it’s because he didn’t deserve

02:17:09 and he set himself apart
02:17:13 for our world you know we are supposed
02:17:16 to be
02:17:17 set apart from the world
02:17:21 but he lived set
02:17:24 apart from the world so that we would

02:17:29 what exactly does that look like what
02:17:31 does it sound like
02:17:33 right he was our example he was a little
02:17:35 like a teacher
02:17:37 and set apart that’s like the holy that
02:17:40 i was bringing out
02:17:41 holy is set apart christ was holy
02:17:45 yeshua was is the holy one of israel

02:20:35 did believe fulfill meant teach

02:20:47 if someone’s not teaching you you have
02:20:50 to unlearn it
02:20:51 on default traditions and then you have
02:20:53 to
02:20:54 be ready to see it and then when you’re
02:20:56 reading you have to pay attention and
02:20:58 that can be hard
02:21:00 and so i i’m not saying i’m perfect but

02:21:04 when i i try to let go
02:21:08 yeah i’m willing to let go and i try to

02:21:11 talk to me and what tell me what it’s
02:21:14 saying rather than me trying to

02:21:20 i’m just saying that’s what i try to do

02:21:26 that got me to see that and others
02:21:29 like it

02:21:40 he is so trustworthy
02:21:45 because he’s so consistent
02:21:51 he he he is consistent
02:21:54 um and it’s beautiful
02:21:57 i i honestly
02:22:01 i i honestly don’t know how anybody

02:22:04 trust a god who is not consistent
02:22:08 to be honest right in fact
02:22:12 lectures on faith joseph smith taught
02:22:14 that how could anybody
02:22:15 have faith unto salvation of a god that
02:22:18 has different roles for
02:22:20 different people meaning not being
02:22:23 consistent
02:22:23 because otherwise how do you know that
02:22:26 this is actually what he wants you to do
02:22:29 because if he has different roles for
02:22:31 different people he’s a respecter of
02:22:33 persons
02:22:35 uh because they’re giving that means i
02:22:37 mean it partly goes away to a judge but
02:22:40 yeshua is our judge that if a judge
02:22:44 is not following the same rules and
02:22:47 conditions that he is with everybody
02:22:48 he’s respecting one person
02:22:50 over another meaning and if he
02:22:53 god does that with us how do we know if
02:22:58 when we keep his ways that he’s going to
02:23:00 deal justly
02:23:02 with us because justice not only is
02:23:04 about
02:23:06 giving out punishment it’s also doing
02:23:09 things that are right
02:23:10 because could a judge be just and
02:23:13 condemn a righteous person
02:23:15 no he could not be just and do that
02:23:18 right justice has more than just
02:23:19 condemning a sinner there’s more to it
02:23:22 than that
02:23:24 right it’s the blessing and the curse
02:23:28 yes in fact i i don’t know the verse
02:23:32 off top my head but the scriptures talk
02:23:34 about how
02:23:35 um
02:23:39 the law justifies the righteous and it
02:23:41 might be alma 42.
02:23:44 i’m not sure on that it’s just emma 42
02:23:46 deals with those types of subjects so
02:23:48 it’s a good
02:23:49 go-to for that but i don’t know if it’s
02:23:51 actually in that chapter
02:23:53 but without the law even the righteous
02:23:57 couldn’t be saved because
02:24:01 what’s the point if there’s no right or
02:24:03 wrong
02:24:04 what what is there to be saved from
02:24:08 right we’re not being saved you know

02:24:12 our breaking the law
02:24:17 is sins because sin is breaking the law

02:24:56 see in the scriptures
02:24:59 and how come he’s different that
02:25:02 i i kept on asking the question how come
02:25:05 you’re being different with us
02:25:07 in the latter days we’re told we’re the
02:25:09 chosen generation
02:25:10 we are the warriors for the last days
02:25:14 and now you want to be dead with us
02:25:18 yeah i don’t understand that i never
02:25:22 understood it either but i didn’t know
02:25:24 how to
02:25:25 contract or or teach against it so
02:25:30 to some degree i kind of went with it
02:25:32 right growing up
02:25:34 but with studies i mean joseph smith
02:25:37 said that’s a lie
02:25:38 the book of mormon says that’s a lie
02:25:40 taurus says that’s all right it doesn’t
02:25:42 lectures on faith says it’s a lie in
02:25:44 fact if you ask me
02:25:47 i mean the biggest reason people say
02:25:50 that the lectures on faith was removed
02:25:51 is because
02:25:54 lecture 5 verse 2 and the questions from
02:25:58 that same
02:25:59 lecture say that the holy spirit is the
02:26:03 mind of god it’s not a personage that’s
02:26:06 the biggest reason
02:26:06 right it changes section 130.
02:26:10 130 but 130 have problems because it’s
02:26:14 it’s not a revelation it is two crimes
02:26:18 making notes and the two scribes
02:26:21 disagree on that point about the holy
02:26:23 ghost but they picked
02:26:25 the personage one i think it’s because
02:26:27 that’s what maine christianity was doing
02:26:29 and they want
02:26:31 to be accepted um but anyways but
02:26:34 joseph didn’t teach that right i
02:26:37 discovered
02:26:38 no he doesn’t and the book of mormon
02:26:39 doesn’t either the book of mormon
02:26:42 says it’s an it like moronic 7

02:26:47 mormon right
02:26:48 which i saw after god taught me that
02:26:51 because if i hadn’t been taught that i

02:27:10 lectures on faith were removed in my

02:27:15 because it states it can’t change
02:27:18 but that does not give the liberty of
02:27:20 lds
02:27:21 presidents slash false prophets to
02:27:24 change things
02:27:26 the the lectures on faith teach against
02:27:29 that multiple
02:27:30 times in the lectures on faith and they
02:27:31 don’t want members to think that
02:27:34 is part of the reason in my opinion
02:27:37 and there’s others reasons why but it’s
02:27:40 because it’s teaching true doctrine and
02:27:42 they don’t want it

02:27:49 when the lord started opening up
02:27:52 my eyes and introduced
02:27:57 to me the lectures on faith
02:28:00 that opened a whole new world
02:28:04 for me and the majority of the members
02:28:08 have never even heard
02:28:12 of the lectures on faith
02:28:16 or they might have heard it in a talk
02:28:20 but they haven’t bothered to buy their
02:28:23 own copy
02:28:25 and explore it
02:28:28 so i i learned about it when i was on my
02:28:31 i’ve had many conversations
02:28:33 with members and
02:28:37 sorry i first learned of it on my
02:28:39 mission
02:28:41 and i think so i was a bad missionary on
02:28:44 this part
02:28:44 i bought it even though it was against
02:28:46 the rules that have lectures on faith
02:28:49 which i find ironic because you know
02:28:51 what that is the lecture yeah
02:28:55 well so i kept most of the rules i was
02:28:58 pretty good
02:28:59 um the other one that i i did um on so
02:29:03 we’re supposed to wear ties
02:29:04 right but on sunday to church i wore a
02:29:07 bow tie
02:29:08 instead of an anointing right that’s
02:29:10 actually technically against the rules
02:29:12 um but i did it anyways yeah i
02:29:16 maybe i was a rule breaker but you know
02:29:18 what i don’t care
02:29:19 on those two itch the lectures on faith
02:29:22 should
02:29:23 not be against the rules because those
02:29:25 are the lectures that joseph smith
02:29:27 taught the missionaries before they went
02:29:29 on missions to teach
02:29:30 people in fact in it it says to memorize

02:29:38 yeah it was in the school prophets that
02:29:40 it was given and the school the prophets
