Summary:
Going over Romans 7 and it’s connection to Torah and the Law of Moses. The New Translation / JST / Inspired Version of the Bible is very pro Torah. Torah and Law of Moses are two different things. Numbers 28 brings out how the Law of Moses has an expiration which was Yeshua’s death on the cross. Hebrew 7 brings out a change in the priesthood duties because no more day to day two daily lambs. Paul is talking to those who know the law. Torah is about love. Torah is about YHWH’s character, and YHWH acts the same in Heaven as He does on Earth. Joseph Smith in the Lectures on Faith teaches that if YHWH’s ways are changing we would not be able to have faith unto salvation. The death of the husband is about the death of Yeshua and we are no longer to do the two daily lambs. Yeshua was judged multiple times. Yeshua always wants us to remember what He did for us. Paul taught Torah to everyone. The Law of Moses was done away with Yeshua’s death, and we are to keep Torah in the church of the Messiah. Under the law means under the curse of the broken law. All things means Torah. There is no repentance after you die. Sinning is breaking Torah. The word oldness deals with Law of Moses, newness deals with Torah. We need Torah to know what is right and wrong. Without the law, there is no sin, and no need for a Savior. Acts 10 was about Peter letting go of a false tradition of not teaching the Gentiles. Israel, the first born, is to teach others. Little children, under Hebrew 8 years or Greek 7 years, are without the law. Modern science has confirmed this that Greek 7 years the brain changes to know the difference between right and wrong. Sin causes us to deny Torah.

00:00:02 So, uh, today, uh, Ben wanted me to
00:00:06 share some thoughts that I have about,
00:00:09 um, the first part of Romans 7. Uh, we
00:00:12 could go over more, but the really
00:00:14 sticky stuff is at the start of Romans
00:00:18 7. And uh and just one thing I’ll say
00:00:21 real quick is how uh as we’re looking at
00:00:24 the JST here uh or the new translation
00:00:28 as uh Yahweh called it in the DNC. Um if
00:00:32 we go look at some specifics, it is very
00:00:35 pro- Torah
00:00:38 and Romans 7 is after the resurrection,
00:00:42 right?
00:00:45 Uh but
00:00:46 I don’t think there’s anybody that can
00:00:48 argue with that.
00:00:50 They can. Um and people do.
00:00:56 Yeah.
00:00:58 Well, that’s just But it’s just
00:01:00 ignorance.
00:01:01 Yes. Uh is definitely a lack of
00:01:04 understanding.
00:01:05 Um,
00:01:07 and I I I’m happy to talk to people
00:01:09 about it if they want to get into it and
00:01:11 you’ll probably see some of that in this
00:01:13 recording here. So,
00:01:16 yeah.
00:01:18 Yeah.
00:01:19 Uh, this chapter,
00:01:22 the one key, one of the keys to help
00:01:25 understand some of these tricky verses
00:01:26 is how Torah and law of Moses are two
00:01:30 different things. Okay,
00:01:33 I know that’s probably a new idea for a
00:01:36 lot of people. Um, there’s a lot to it.
00:01:38 I have a page and I have some videos.
00:01:42 Uh, even numbers 28 uh brings out how
00:01:46 there is an expiration to it if you pay
00:01:48 close attention. Um, so which
00:01:52 in it’s in the wording.
00:01:53 It’s actually in the wording. It’s not
00:01:55 in the white spaces. So it’s not you
00:01:57 have to read very carefully.
00:02:01 You’ll have to be careful. So let’s just
00:02:02 go look at it real quick. Um because I
00:02:05 think that’s the number 281. We’ll just
00:02:07 do that.
00:02:08 Yeah.
00:02:08 A quickie.
00:02:10 Actually, I I will show my kaizen
00:02:12 because I’m addicted to that stuff. So
00:02:15 And you did all the work to bring it up.
00:02:17 Why don’t Why not show it off?
00:02:18 Yeah. Yeah, that’s right.
00:02:23 Got to find the buttons, though.
00:02:26 Yeah.
00:02:27 Button. Button. Who’s got the button?
00:02:30 You and your button.
00:02:35 Don’t press my buttons.
00:02:39 That’s generally pretty good. Um,
00:02:42 so the word is due season. Oh, there it
00:02:46 is right there. Oh.
00:02:49 Oh, it looks like it’s verse two. Sorry,
00:02:51 not verse one. Sorry. I I remembered
00:02:55 something a little wrong. But anyways,
00:02:57 in their due season, it has to do with
00:02:59 expiration. Okay.
00:03:01 Yeah.
00:03:02 And in here it does say continually or
00:03:05 continue or something to that. Oh, it is
00:03:08 continual. Okay.
00:03:09 Yeah. So, this is the thing. Something
00:03:10 that’s in its due season has its due
00:03:13 season and that due season passes.
00:03:16 Yeah. So, this is somewhat cryptic, but
00:03:19 this is bringing out that there is an
00:03:21 expiration date to it. Okay. Uh, and
00:03:25 that expiration date is the cross as
00:03:28 Paul brings out. In fact, let’s go look
00:03:30 at the page real quick. So, let me pause
00:03:33 while I go get that up. So, hold on.
00:03:37 Okay.
00:03:38 Okay. So, the one that I was referring
00:03:40 to is uh 2:14.
00:03:45 Um,
00:03:47 Ben, you want to read it for us?
00:03:50 Okay, let’s see.
00:03:52 Right here.
00:03:53 Blotting blotting out the handwriting of
00:03:57 the the handwriting. That’s uh the word
00:03:59 means legal note of daily performances
00:04:02 and ordinances. This
00:04:04 I want to bring out though, sorry, I
00:04:06 know I’m rude and interrupting, but I’m
00:04:08 just full of hot air, but and I got to
00:04:10 get it out otherwise I’m going to
00:04:11 explode.
00:04:13 There you go. Um,
00:04:15 we wouldn’t want that. That would be
00:04:17 disgusting.
00:04:19 This is right here. This legal note
00:04:22 against them
00:04:25 is not false traditions. Oops. I me
00:04:29 silly clicking. I I don’t know what I
00:04:30 just did.
00:04:32 Yeah, I I don’t know what you did
00:04:33 either, but that’s that.
00:04:34 Oh, somehow. Okay. All right. So, you
00:04:37 guys see the my law Moses page, right?
00:04:39 in the
00:04:41 and and the reason and it would not and
00:04:43 God would not need to blot that out
00:04:45 because God doesn’t really take that
00:04:47 into account.
00:04:48 Correct. It means nothing. Well,
00:04:51 actually, it means you’re probably
00:04:53 sinning, but uh that’s which uh if
00:04:57 you’re anything like
00:04:59 which does mean something which does
00:05:02 mean something if you’re sinning and
00:05:04 that’s not good.
00:05:05 Yeah. Yeah. But that’s still happening
00:05:07 is my point. Go look out. Go look out
00:05:09 your or your window or whatever, right?
00:05:13 It’s
00:05:13 Yeah, you can pretty much see it
00:05:15 everywhere. Yeah.
00:05:16 Yeah, that hasn’t gone away. Um, okay.
00:05:21 Sorry about that interrupting I did,
00:05:23 Ben. But
00:05:24 so let’s see.
00:05:27 Starting from the beginning, blotting
00:05:28 out the handwriting
00:05:30 word means legal note
00:05:33 of daily of
00:05:36 now this is a and this is a glyph
00:05:38 statement daily performances and
00:05:41 ordinances
00:05:42 the actual words are of ordinances
00:05:45 blotting out the handwriting of
00:05:46 ordinances and that’s daily performances
00:05:48 and ordinances which is the law of Moses
00:05:53 that was that was against us and The
00:05:56 reason it was against them is not
00:05:58 because they’re morons, but because they
00:06:00 transgressed.
00:06:02 Mount Zioni.
00:06:03 Something that’s against you because of
00:06:05 false tradition is because you’re a
00:06:07 Something that’s against you and
00:06:10 something that’s against you from Ya is
00:06:14 because of transgression
00:06:16 or in other words, sins.
00:06:18 [Music]
00:06:19 Yes.
00:06:19 In case it was some serious sins. We’ll
00:06:22 leave it at that.
00:06:22 Yes. which was contrary
00:06:25 or set against us. It’s when one of the
00:06:30 word one of the meanings of contrary is
00:06:32 when
00:06:33 somebody is set against you. They are
00:06:37 um they’re they are they’re there to
00:06:40 stop you from getting what you want,
00:06:42 which was contrary to us
00:06:46 because it was a punishment.
00:06:49 and took and took it out of the way.
00:06:52 Removed it. This is the older this is
00:06:55 the um this is the uh law of Moses
00:06:58 again. what that was removed uh which is
00:07:02 uh and because the law of Moses was
00:07:05 removed the old covenant there must
00:07:07 needs be a new covenant
00:07:09 but
00:07:11 and took it out of the way nailing it to
00:07:15 Yeshua’s cross
00:07:18 uh which goes along with assistance it’s
00:07:20 right there the change of the priesthood
00:07:22 in Hebrews 7 because
00:07:25 no more daytoday
00:07:28 ordinances is okay.
00:07:30 Yeah,
00:07:31 since we’re here, well, we’ll just do it
00:07:33 here. Uh, numbers.
00:07:38 Um, okay. So, here’s this due season.
00:07:43 Okay.
00:07:44 And this by day,
00:07:47 this due season means it’s for a
00:07:49 specific period of time, right?
00:07:53 During that season, when it is due.
00:07:56 Yeah. So
00:08:00 used to be continually day by day during
00:08:04 its due season.
00:08:07 Mhm. Yes.
00:08:08 That season is over.
00:08:10 Okay. Now with that, let’s go back to
00:08:13 Romans 7.
00:08:16 Actually, we haven’t even started yet.
00:08:18 Sorry.
00:08:20 Whatever.
00:08:21 Let’s go to Romans chapter 7.
00:08:24 Yeah, we were still in uh we were still
00:08:26 in Numbers chapter 28 showing that the
00:08:29 that the uh we were talking about how
00:08:31 the law of Moses and Torah are two
00:08:33 different things and now there is
00:08:35 evidence of this in the Bible. The law
00:08:37 of Moses was handed down for its due
00:08:39 season.
00:08:40 Yes. Um
00:08:43 I I from on this point I will be honest.
00:08:45 I I first Yahweh first brought this out
00:08:48 to me with Mosiah 13, but I have since
00:08:52 been able to bring it out from just the
00:08:53 Bible alone as we just kind of went over
00:08:56 right there, right?
00:08:58 Um, now let’s look at this first part of
00:09:01 uh Romans 7. This is like really
00:09:03 specific. He’s not just talking to
00:09:06 anybody, okay?
00:09:08 No, no,
00:09:09 he’s talking to specific people, at
00:09:11 least according to Paul here, okay? And
00:09:13 I’m going to take Paul for his word
00:09:15 here.
00:09:16 He’s saying, “I speak to those that know
00:09:20 the law.”
00:09:22 So,
00:09:23 teachers, in other words,
00:09:25 uh, yes, or those who are keeping it,
00:09:28 but I do think it’s probably more those
00:09:30 who are really keeping it turn into
00:09:32 teachers. So,
00:09:34 yes.
00:09:35 Yeah. Because in order to fully keep
00:09:37 Torah, you teach it. You help other
00:09:41 people to keep it. No, it’s the guarding
00:09:43 part that’s actually
00:09:44 right. Exactly. So that’s what I’m
00:09:46 saying is if you’re if you’re actually
00:09:48 living Torah, you can’t help but become
00:09:52 a teacher.
00:09:53 Yeah. And the for the way that I like to
00:09:57 put it is uh how can one properly how in
00:10:02 order to properly guard the Torah, you
00:10:04 have not anyone not just anyone can
00:10:07 teach it.
00:10:09 I I agree with that. But I do want to
00:10:11 add something to Josh’s point.
00:10:14 Torah is about love.
00:10:16 Yes.
00:10:17 Amen.
00:10:17 Amen.
00:10:18 If you love someone,
00:10:21 you want to help them out and
00:10:23 specifically help them out to where they
00:10:25 can help themselves,
00:10:26 which involves
00:10:27 But if you’re But if your understanding
00:10:29 of Torah is not sufficient to be is not
00:10:32 sufficient yet, you can always help them
00:10:34 out by pointing them to a good teacher.
00:10:37 Yes. Yeah. And I do agree. um
00:10:41 if there’s an area that you don’t
00:10:43 understand um
00:10:46 given
00:10:46 you can always re make recommendations
00:10:48 and stuff like that but I I do agree
00:10:51 with Stephen that Torah is about love
00:10:55 and if you truly love your neighbor as
00:10:58 yourself
00:11:00 you will reach out to them and you will
00:11:02 help them the best way you can now that
00:11:04 doesn’t mean that you need to know
00:11:06 everything about the law so that you can
00:11:08 be the best teacher and doesn’t mean
00:11:09 that everybody is a good teacher,
00:11:13 but it does mean that you reach out in
00:11:15 love and at least point somebody in the
00:11:20 right direction.
00:11:21 Yeah. To help support Ben’s point, even
00:11:24 with Torah, it brings out how um if you
00:11:29 don’t know how to judge this, you send
00:11:31 it up uh to a a judge who knows.
00:11:35 Yep.
00:11:36 Yep. So,
00:11:37 Yep. Absolutely.
00:11:39 You you can teach what you know, just
00:11:41 don’t go beyond that. Okay.
00:11:43 Right.
00:11:44 And that’s and there’s an example in the
00:11:47 law that goes along with that. Right.
00:11:49 And I’ll just and I’ll just wrap myself
00:11:51 out here a little bit. Most of the times
00:11:54 when I get in trouble with the Torah,
00:11:57 it’s because I’m trying to go beyond
00:11:59 what I know.
00:12:03 Yes, I agree with that. Um I but I in
00:12:10 Ben’s defense,
00:12:12 he wants to figure it out.
00:12:16 Um
00:12:19 but also not in his defense, sometimes
00:12:22 he listens to these false teachers and
00:12:24 gets them gets himself a little
00:12:26 confused. So anyways,
00:12:28 um but there there’s a there’s a place
00:12:32 to listening to both sides, right? So
00:12:34 this is
00:12:35 Absolutely.
00:12:36 It’s a tricky balance. I’ll leave it at
00:12:39 that. Okay.
00:12:42 I will say I listen to all s Well, maybe
00:12:44 not all sides, but I listen to multiple
00:12:46 sides. Okay. I don’t have enough time to
00:12:49 listen to all sides. Um
00:12:51 Yeah. There’s so much information out
00:12:52 there.
00:12:53 Yeah. Yeah. And partly is to check
00:12:55 myself and partly to see if there’s
00:12:58 something I haven’t thought of. Okay.
00:13:01 Um, so anyways, but back to the main
00:13:04 point here is Paul is speaking to those
00:13:07 who know
00:13:10 and this is a biblical no. They are
00:13:13 intimate with the law because they
00:13:15 actually really understand it. Okay?
00:13:19 They just haven’tice
00:13:21 it,
00:13:23 right?
00:13:23 Lack of a better way of putting it. So
00:13:25 this is this is
00:13:28 when one is intimate with the law, they
00:13:30 are intimate with the Holy Spirit. Okay.
00:13:34 Wait, that’s the same thing.
00:13:36 Sorry.
00:13:38 I know.
00:13:40 So
00:13:41 as in uh we in this group believe in
00:13:44 modalism and and on the part on this is
00:13:47 how the Holy Spirit is Torah, okay? Or
00:13:51 the law.
00:13:53 um because it’s the holy behavior in
00:13:56 Torah is how you’re supposed to behave.
00:13:58 Okay, which is um the nitty-gritty
00:14:02 detail of how Yahweh wants you to love.
00:14:04 Okay,
00:14:06 so this right here is the rhetorical
00:14:09 question. Um or it’s not the best
00:14:12 translation because the Brian Standard
00:14:15 uh has it a little different. Um either
00:14:18 way, I it’s promoting Torah. It’s not
00:14:22 degrading it. Okay. I The King James has
00:14:25 it as a question. It it it
00:14:30 who’s absolutely right on this
00:14:32 translation. I don’t know. But neither
00:14:34 one degrades Torah. Okay. And that’s the
00:14:37 important part.
00:14:38 Yeah. Neither there’s no translation of
00:14:40 that that actually there’s no proper
00:14:43 understanding of a translation of that
00:14:44 that actually degrades Torah. What this
00:14:47 actually is saying,
00:14:49 well, I’m not from what I understand is
00:14:51 that the uh that when it says that the
00:14:55 law hath dominion over a man only as
00:14:57 long as he liveth,
00:14:59 the sinner is dead.
00:15:04 And so the person who is not the person
00:15:08 who is not subject to the dominion of
00:15:09 the law is dead.
00:15:13 Well, so I I I would go a little
00:15:15 different, Ben. Um,
00:15:17 even after someone’s sin,
00:15:20 the law still is uh having
00:15:25 That’s true.
00:15:25 Okay.
00:15:26 Still has the power of judgment over
00:15:27 them.
00:15:28 Yeah. So, let let’s read this real
00:15:29 quick. How that the law have dominion
00:15:32 over a man only as he liveth. So, a a
00:15:37 problem with Paul’s letters is we only
00:15:40 have h half the conversation. So, those
00:15:43 uh uh those easedroppers that love to
00:15:45 listen to people’s phone calls, you only
00:15:47 have half the conversation. Okay? That’s
00:15:50 what’s going on.
00:15:50 Unless you unless you figured out how to
00:15:52 unless you figured out how to spike the
00:15:54 line and just listen in.
00:15:57 Uh there’s people that can do that. So,
00:15:59 yep.
00:16:00 Anyways, um
00:16:03 I I I I’m going to speculate here,
00:16:06 especially the way this is worded, that
00:16:09 they’re asking if Paul if Torah was only
00:16:13 for our mortal lives and he’s
00:16:17 how is that even possible,
00:16:19 right?
00:16:22 Uh because if Torah is about the
00:16:25 character,
00:16:27 right,
00:16:28 of Yahw, is Yahw act different than he
00:16:32 does in heaven than he does on earth?
00:16:35 I’ll tell you he doesn’t.
00:16:37 No, he he he’s the same yesterday,
00:16:39 today, and forever. And his ways don’t
00:16:41 change.
00:16:42 Okay, wait a minute. There’s that F
00:16:43 freaking F word.
00:16:46 I know.
00:16:47 Forever.
00:16:48 Yeah, but it’s not they can’t even be
00:16:50 mad about it because it’s not a
00:16:52 four-letter word.
00:16:53 Oh, okay. But it is still an F word,
00:16:55 right?
00:16:57 Yeah.
00:16:58 I I’m being a little silly just to bring
00:17:00 out how
00:17:03 people
00:17:03 But the law the law
00:17:05 forever means
00:17:06 the law would have to be forever because
00:17:08 if the law wasn’t forever, then God
00:17:10 would cease to be God. Now, let’s keep
00:17:13 in mind though here um what type of
00:17:16 people lived in Rome?
00:17:20 Romans. Oh, anyways.
00:17:24 Oh, no. Josh, no.
00:17:27 That can’t be the case. Okay.
00:17:29 Pagans.
00:17:31 Oh, yeah. They’re Roman.
00:17:34 Romans were pagans.
00:17:35 People were believers. They were
00:17:36 believers in the true God. I’m talking
00:17:38 about the the primary religion of Rome.
00:17:42 Yeah. Yeah. So, but the these are
00:17:43 converts
00:17:45 from a pagan religion who
00:17:49 it’s important still
00:17:50 that
00:17:53 their culture went way against Yahweh’s
00:17:57 way of loving. Well, and this is the and
00:17:59 this is the thing is that um
00:18:02 often times uh
00:18:06 in pagan religions if there are
00:18:08 injunctions against any activities those
00:18:12 everything in paganism is understood to
00:18:14 be for this life only.
00:18:16 Yes.
00:18:18 Yes.
00:18:18 So this goes along with this rhetorical
00:18:21 question as a response I think was a
00:18:23 question to Paul. Okay. Mhm.
00:18:26 No, I can’t prove it because we don’t
00:18:27 have the other side of the conversation,
00:18:29 but I do think that’s the only thing
00:18:31 that makes sense.
00:18:33 So, you’re saying this is more like a
00:18:35 rhetorical question than an actual
00:18:38 uh question.
00:18:40 Yeah. As in I I don’t think it’s a
00:18:42 statement saying
00:18:45 Torah is only for mortals. But
00:18:47 specifically the reason why I brought
00:18:50 out how uh Ben brought out how Yahweh is
00:18:53 the same yesterday, today, and forever.
00:18:57 Oh, bad word.
00:18:59 And that includes beyond mortality.
00:19:02 Yes.
00:19:03 Yes. Because if it didn’t, then Yahwa
00:19:07 would cease to be Yahwa.
00:19:09 Yeah.
00:19:11 And we would never have been we would
00:19:13 never have been here.
00:19:16 That would also go along with lectures
00:19:19 on faith three from Joseph Smith. How we
00:19:22 wouldn’t be able to have salvation faith
00:19:23 unto salvation because we don’t know
00:19:26 what we’re supposed to be doing because
00:19:27 it can be changing
00:19:29 all the time
00:19:30 from one second to the next.
00:19:32 So, so my question to all these uh to
00:19:36 all those who teach a changing God,
00:19:39 how do you know that what you’re doing
00:19:42 won’t be displeasing to him? Yeah. If
00:19:45 you think it’s changed, what is stopping
00:19:47 it from changing again?
00:19:49 Right.
00:19:50 And just like that, just despite you
00:19:54 because see, a changing God is a
00:19:56 vengeful God.
00:20:00 And his godful God is a hateful God. And
00:20:03 I that goes along with how Yahweh states
00:20:06 in his word that
00:20:10 the sons of Jacob I might I might not
00:20:13 remember the exact phrase. Okay. But
00:20:14 here’s the idea that the sons of Jacob
00:20:16 don’t have to worry because he is the
00:20:18 same.
00:20:19 Well, what it says is I change I am Ya
00:20:24 and I change not. Therefore, ye sons of
00:20:29 Yov
00:20:30 are not consumed.
00:20:33 Okay. So,
00:20:34 have to worry.
00:20:36 He will not be destroyed because he
00:20:39 changes not and doesn’t revoke his
00:20:42 promises.
00:20:43 Okay. So, Ben’s got the actual quote.
00:20:46 Uh, I had the idea, but the idea I’m
00:20:49 bringing out from here, this is stating
00:20:52 they don’t have to worry those who are
00:20:55 keeping Yahweh’s ways to be destroyed
00:20:59 because his ways are not changing.
00:21:01 Mhm.
00:21:02 Because you’re destroyed when you sin.
00:21:06 Yeah.
00:21:06 Yes. And sinning happens when you
00:21:09 transgress his way
00:21:13 his law or Torah or Yeah.
00:21:18 Yeah. So I I I I my exact quoting is
00:21:21 horrible
00:21:23 as Ben pointed out here, which is fine,
00:21:25 Ben. I’m glad you brought out the exact
00:21:27 quote.
00:21:27 That wasn’t the intent. It wasn’t the
00:21:29 No, I’m saying I know that was not the
00:21:31 intent. The I But the idea is there.
00:21:34 Mhm.
00:21:35 The reason they’re not destroyed is
00:21:36 because he doesn’t change.
00:21:39 That’s because
00:21:40 promises, right?
00:21:41 It goes along with what Joseph Smith
00:21:43 taught in like three.
00:21:46 Because if he changed, you wouldn’t have
00:21:48 sal faith unto salvation, thus
00:21:51 destroyed.
00:21:53 Yes.
00:21:54 We would that which is not saved is
00:21:57 destroyed.
00:21:58 Yes.
00:21:59 Exactly.
00:22:01 teaching the same idea from a different
00:22:04 angle.
00:22:05 Right?
00:22:07 So now uh this next couple verses is an
00:22:11 illusion. Um so maybe uh Josh, you want
00:22:14 to read verse two and then we can talk
00:22:16 about it.
00:22:17 Sure.
00:22:19 For the woman which hath a husband
00:22:23 is bound by the law to her husband
00:22:27 only as long as he liveth. For if the
00:22:30 husband be dead, she is loosed from the
00:22:34 law of her husband.
00:22:38 Okay. Uh does anybody want to say
00:22:40 something before I say something?
00:22:41 Because I know sometimes I
00:22:42 for the woman for the woman.
00:22:45 Uh so this is a reference back to the
00:22:48 law of divorce as given in uh I believe
00:22:52 it’s in
00:22:54 Deuteronomy.
00:22:56 I I I’d have to look it up.
00:22:58 Yeah. But I’m not I’m not quite not
00:23:00 absolutely sure on that. So don’t quote
00:23:02 me on that.
00:23:03 There’s a bridge there. Okay.
00:23:04 It’s in the law. It’s in the law. This
00:23:07 is going back to the law of divorce.
00:23:09 And
00:23:11 it’s which talks about under what
00:23:15 circumstances a uh under what
00:23:18 circumstances a uh a woman can be
00:23:21 remarried.
00:23:22 Yes.
00:23:24 Now the but there’s a secondary meaning
00:23:28 to this.
00:23:29 Yeah. I I do want to bring out though
00:23:32 it’s about one of the ways she can
00:23:35 Yeah. One of the
00:23:36 one of the ways it’s not the only way.
00:23:38 Okay.
00:23:39 But this is one of the ways that she can
00:23:40 be remarried.
00:23:41 Yeah. Right. Um now the a lot of people
00:23:46 use this to talk and then proceed to
00:23:50 branch off into various other places to
00:23:53 talk about how the northern kingdom was
00:23:56 irrevocably divorced until the death of
00:23:58 Messiah.
00:23:59 This is what and I don’t think but this
00:24:02 is not what this is talking about.
00:24:04 No it is not. And just to I’ll address
00:24:07 this quickly because Ben and I are
00:24:09 planning to address it more thoroughly
00:24:11 later. Mhm.
00:24:12 But
00:24:15 the
00:24:16 anyone who comes under Yeshua’s covering
00:24:18 is Isaiah.
00:24:20 Mhm. Cuz they are the ones that have
00:24:26 with Yahw and man.
00:24:27 You meant Israel, right? Not Isaiah.
00:24:31 Oh, yeah. Sorry. Thank good catch. Thank
00:24:33 you. Uh it it Israel means those who
00:24:38 have wrestled with Yahw and man and have
00:24:42 overcome. Okay. So that’s anyone that’s
00:24:45 come under his covering.
00:24:48 So we’ll leave it at that because to get
00:24:50 into more details we’ll take
00:24:52 Yeah. So here
00:24:54 so here um
00:24:57 the woman is often used uh uh in the
00:25:01 prophetic sense or in the um
00:25:04 in the al in the symbolic allegorical
00:25:06 sense
00:25:08 um to represent the calledout assembly
00:25:12 the ecclesia
00:25:13 or or as in English translations the
00:25:16 church right
00:25:18 right and so because guess what folks
00:25:22 No, it’s not a sin to refer to Israel as
00:25:25 the church.
00:25:27 No. In fact, it Stephen did.
00:25:31 Stephen did.
00:25:32 And if that’s
00:25:33 not Stephen, but the Steon
00:25:39 the one from the New The one from Acts.
00:25:41 Yeah. Yeah. The one from Acts.
00:25:43 He got stoned.
00:25:45 Yeah. No. Well, yeah, but not
00:25:48 Yeah, he got stoned.
00:25:49 Not in a good way. And not and not in a
00:25:51 way that makes you feel good.
00:25:53 No
00:25:55 marijuana.
00:25:56 Definitely not. There was no good
00:25:58 feeling there.
00:25:59 Yeah. So, uh but uh the the the woman is
00:26:03 often used um allegorically
00:26:08 speaking to represent the ecclesia that
00:26:11 the church called out assembly. Um,
00:26:15 now
00:26:17 they were, this is actually talking
00:26:19 about how they were bound to perform the
00:26:22 law of Moses
00:26:25 until the death of the husband. Who was
00:26:29 the husband? Y or Yahweh
00:26:34 or um, and this might be a good
00:26:37 transition to go to Hebrews nine, the
00:26:39 victim. Right.
00:26:40 The victim. Right. Exactly. The victim.
00:26:42 Well, let’s because I I I know what
00:26:44 Ben’s getting at. So, let’s go. If Ben’s
00:26:47 fine, I’m going to interject and bring
00:26:49 us to Hebrews 9.
00:26:51 That’s fine. That’s fine. I
00:26:53 If I I do read the scriptures.
00:26:57 I don’t know the order.
00:26:58 You
00:27:00 um Anyways,
00:27:03 so the the probably the ones we want to
00:27:05 see off or review off of this is uh 15
00:27:09 through 18.
00:27:11 Yes. No, I’ll read that.
00:27:13 Okay.
00:27:14 And for this cause, he is the mediator
00:27:16 of the new covenant.
00:27:20 So,
00:27:21 wait. Oh,
00:27:23 new covenant.
00:27:25 The mediator of the new covenant, just
00:27:27 like he was the mediator of the old
00:27:29 covenant.
00:27:31 That by means of death for the
00:27:33 redemption,
00:27:36 means of death for the redemption of the
00:27:37 transgressions that were under the first
00:27:40 covenant. they which are called might
00:27:43 receive the promise of eternal
00:27:46 inheritance.
00:27:47 But this this verse ties back to Numbers
00:27:50 28. So what we’re looking at here is
00:27:54 but also I’ll let Ben finish his state
00:27:56 and then I’ll say something. Sorry. What
00:27:57 we’re looking at here is that all those
00:27:59 under the first covenant are were those
00:28:03 under the first covenant, those who died
00:28:05 before Yeshua were resurre the there
00:28:08 were the resurrection began with him
00:28:11 with his resurrection and many of the
00:28:14 saints were also resurrected at that
00:28:17 time according to the New Testament
00:28:22 and so they were called forth.
00:28:24 Yeah. So, but also
00:28:25 the promise of their eternal
00:28:27 inheritance.
00:28:29 So, this is
00:28:32 this first and second covenant uh is a
00:28:36 tricky
00:28:38 statement for a lot of people. Okay. Uh
00:28:42 Jeremiah brings out uh where is it?
00:28:44 Jeremiah 31 maybe.
00:28:45 Jeremiah 31.
00:28:47 Remember very good.
00:28:50 Uh we all have our strengths. Okay. um
00:28:54 in that a renewed covenant or this this
00:28:56 second covenant. Um but this is going
00:29:00 along with how something changed at
00:29:03 Yeshua’s death where and so I’m skipping
00:29:07 ahead here. Sorry. But the death of the
00:29:10 victim as in there for where
00:29:14 as to just tie it back real quick. um
00:29:16 the death of the husband.
00:29:18 For where a covenant is, there must be
00:29:21 also of necessity be the death of the of
00:29:23 the victim.
00:29:26 For a covenant is of force after the
00:29:29 victim is dead. Otherwise, it is of no
00:29:33 strength at all while the while the
00:29:35 victim liveth. whereupon neither the
00:29:39 where whereupon neither the first
00:29:42 covenant was dedicated without blood or
00:29:45 the sec and we could go we could go on
00:29:48 but I’ll just say or the second yes I
00:29:51 agree because uh um they both need blood
00:29:54 but I do think he’s focusing on the
00:29:56 first here on purpose okay but this
00:29:59 first covenant is law of Moses okay
00:30:05 well the yeah the first Moses page. I’ll
00:30:08 put a link. Okay. Because this is a law
00:30:10 and the law of Moses is basically Torah
00:30:14 with the addition of punishments.
00:30:17 Correct. Um which is why something uh
00:30:22 the punishment is what was removed.
00:30:26 Aka writing
00:30:27 of ordinances that was against us.
00:30:31 How dare you quote scripture?
00:30:35 I know. I’m I’m a terrible
00:30:39 person.
00:30:39 But but but I thought that’s where we
00:30:43 find the word of Yeah.
00:30:45 Yeah. I know. It was uh I was being a
00:30:47 dork, but I was being rehetor.
00:30:51 You were being sufficious.
00:30:52 Yeah. Yes. I was being facicious. Um so
00:30:57 there’s a first covenant and second
00:30:59 covenant here. Okay.
00:31:01 Uhhuh. So it’s like there is a death of
00:31:04 a husband in Romans 7.
00:31:07 Yes. So as in going with Ben’s uh
00:31:11 teaching that the woman represents the
00:31:14 church.
00:31:16 The church is married to who?
00:31:20 The bride.
00:31:22 Yes. Yah.
00:31:24 Yeah. Yes. Y
00:31:26 was he the one that died? I I just I
00:31:28 don’t remember my history very well.
00:31:30 Yes.
00:31:30 Oh yeah. Thank you.
00:31:32 Yeah, he definitely died.
00:31:34 Yeah. And just in case people are
00:31:36 wondering, he was judged, too. Cuz I
00:31:39 He was He was absolutely judged.
00:31:41 Oh, yes.
00:31:42 He was judged, too.
00:31:45 Well, and guess what? He was not found
00:31:48 wanting
00:31:49 as in he was not found guilty. Um,
00:31:53 exactly.
00:31:54 In modern English.
00:31:56 In fact, it is quite explicitly stated
00:31:59 that
00:32:01 um Pontius Pilate found no guilt in him,
00:32:04 but he delivered him to be crucified to
00:32:07 pacify the Jews.
00:32:09 Um
00:32:10 yeah. Uh like this is what followers of
00:32:13 Satan do.
00:32:17 And
00:32:17 and now also this goes along with the
00:32:20 Day of Atonement ceremony which we have
00:32:22 a recording I’ll put a link on because
00:32:24 it was prophesied in that ceremony
00:32:28 and it is to continue to be done to
00:32:31 remind us where we gain salvation. It’s
00:32:35 not through me. It’s not through
00:32:38 yourself.
00:32:39 Nope.
00:32:40 It is through Yeshua. And he always
00:32:44 wants us to remember that. Always. Not
00:32:47 not just in the old world,
00:32:50 not just in the old covenant.
00:32:52 He want
00:32:53 just in the new covenant.
00:32:54 Yes. He wants us to remember even now.
00:32:57 Okay.
00:32:58 And he has prescribed ways that he wants
00:33:02 us to remember that.
00:33:04 Yes.
00:33:05 Old Day of Atonement. Okay. Um
00:33:08 Yeah.
00:33:08 Okay. Which is one of the reasons why
00:33:10 which is one of the reasons why
00:33:11 sacrifices have to be brought back
00:33:13 because the day of atonement cannot be
00:33:14 properly kept until the sacrifices are
00:33:17 brought back.
00:33:18 Correct? Because those sacrifices if you
00:33:21 listen to that teaching from Beni
00:33:24 points to the Messiah. Ben focused on
00:33:27 the history. He’s way better at history
00:33:29 than I am. And I focused on the
00:33:31 symbolism but the two go together. Okay.
00:33:36 Yes. Um,
00:33:39 everybody has their strengths and we
00:33:41 should learn them and work with them.
00:33:43 So, but if they’re really from Yahw,
00:33:45 they will work together with truth. I
00:33:47 mean,
00:33:49 they do. The history and the symbolism
00:33:51 very much does that. So, this um Hebrews
00:33:57 9 is talking about the same thing as
00:34:00 what’s going on in Romans 7. Um,
00:34:06 it’s like
00:34:08 Paul’s teaching the same thing to
00:34:10 different people with different
00:34:12 analogies that will reach those
00:34:15 particular people.
00:34:19 Imagine that.
00:34:20 That’s a crazy idea, isn’t it?
00:34:22 Yeah. The letter to the Hebrews was
00:34:25 surprisingly enough written to Hebrews.
00:34:28 Oh, by the way, also one other thing to
00:34:30 keep in mind. This is what is meant by
00:34:34 Yah speaks to us in a way that we
00:34:38 understand.
00:34:39 Yeah. It’s not that he teaches different
00:34:41 things. He will teach the same thing
00:34:43 different way.
00:34:44 And this is also what Paul means when he
00:34:46 says I am all things to all people.
00:34:50 Not that he is not that he keeps one set
00:34:53 of laws when he’s around the Jews and
00:34:55 one set of laws when he’s around the
00:34:57 Gentiles. only that he tells things to
00:35:01 Jew or Gentile differently so that they
00:35:05 can process it more effectively. And to
00:35:08 help support that, what does the phrase
00:35:11 all things mean?
00:35:13 Torah.
00:35:15 He Paul is stating he’s teaching Torah
00:35:19 to everyone
00:35:22 in the way that they to the Greeks.
00:35:26 He quoted one of their pagan poets
00:35:31 and related it
00:35:34 to Yah.
00:35:37 Yeah. As Joseph Smith taught, we are to
00:35:39 find truth everywhere.
00:35:42 There’s one example of it.
00:35:45 This is how you teach that way. not how
00:35:50 the LDS Bighgamite church leadership
00:35:53 does it today where they take their
00:35:55 favorite
00:35:57 uh self-help art author and use lines
00:36:00 from their books
00:36:02 without attribut
00:36:05 I sorry
00:36:06 attributing
00:36:09 without attributing it to them um which
00:36:13 has uh happens a lot uh we’ll just leave
00:36:15 it at that but uh main point here Paul’s
00:36:19 teaching the same thing to different
00:36:21 groups
00:36:23 different ways.
00:36:24 Yes.
00:36:26 Um and there’s probably a lot going on
00:36:30 in his head and the cultures of why he
00:36:33 picks particular ways. Okay.
00:36:37 I I maybe one I Well, okay, I won’t say
00:36:40 maybe one day I will be able to see Paul
00:36:43 and pick his brain.
00:36:45 It’s not right now. That’s going to be
00:36:48 pretty cool though.
00:36:49 Oh yeah, dude.
00:36:52 Yeah, I would love to do that. I do
00:36:54 hope.
00:36:56 Yes,
00:37:00 he’ll be be
00:37:03 somewhat
00:37:05 happy with what I brought out.
00:37:08 But anyways, sorry.
00:37:11 Um, so going back to this analogy,
00:37:16 I I need a minute. Sorry.
00:37:18 No, you’re good.
00:37:21 Okay. Sorry about that. Um, so, um, as
00:37:25 he’s as Ben’s bringing out the analogy
00:37:28 of the woman in the church and the
00:37:30 church being married to,
00:37:33 um, the bridegroom,
00:37:36 Yahwa,
00:37:37 Yeshua, Yahweh,
00:37:40 um,
00:37:42 he died, did he not?
00:37:44 Yes, he did. He did. He died.
00:37:47 And there’s a lot of writings from Paul
00:37:50 that is very misunderstood.
00:37:54 Something changed at his death.
00:37:58 Okay. And I I I I’m going to read. So
00:38:04 when the husband die, she is loosed from
00:38:08 the law of her husband.
00:38:10 Yes.
00:38:11 This is bringing out that when Yahweh
00:38:15 died,
00:38:18 there is something they didn’t need to
00:38:20 do anymore. Okay?
00:38:24 So then, while her husband liveth,
00:38:28 uh, she be married to another man, she
00:38:31 shall be called an adulteress. Okay. So,
00:38:34 this goes along with, um,
00:38:38 is is it
00:38:42 the eighth. I’m sorry. Um, but thou
00:38:46 shalt not commit adultery, which is
00:38:49 parallelled with um,
00:38:54 thou shalt worship Yahw only. Okay.
00:38:58 Okay. Right. Okay.
00:38:59 He has specific ways that you are to
00:39:02 worship him. For example, when the
00:39:06 Israel so-called Israelites
00:39:10 uh went against Yahweh’s ways and
00:39:12 followed the ways of the pagans, that
00:39:14 happens today.
00:39:16 Uh they were called adulteresses.
00:39:19 Yes. Yes.
00:39:20 Oh, that they’re committing adultery.
00:39:22 Okay.
00:39:22 Yep. So,
00:39:25 this goes along with until he died,
00:39:30 they could they still needed to do those
00:39:33 day two daily lambs.
00:39:37 Correct.
00:39:38 When he died, they didn’t have to do it
00:39:41 anymore. But if her husband be dead, she
00:39:44 is free from that law because the victim
00:39:49 died. Right.
00:39:52 Right.
00:39:54 And so if she stopped doing it before,
00:39:59 she would have been an adulterer
00:40:02 and that she is no not an adulteress.
00:40:06 Mhm.
00:40:07 There’s another thing that we need to
00:40:08 take into consideration. This is
00:40:11 beautiful.
00:40:13 Uh this is in Hebrew culture. Uh this is
00:40:16 a beautiful example from Hebrew culture
00:40:19 to teach
00:40:21 the law.
00:40:23 Well, uh
00:40:24 man, and we’re talking about marriage,
00:40:26 the the um the
00:40:31 So when a man
00:40:34 uh or man’s parents
00:40:37 uh
00:40:39 found a bride for their son, the son
00:40:42 would write up a contract
00:40:45 Just like Yeshua, when he found
00:40:50 a people that he wanted or his bride, he
00:40:57 made a contract
00:40:59 and his cuba is the law.
00:41:03 The man’s cuba is what the wife must
00:41:06 abide by while they are yet married. So,
00:41:10 it’s actually very very
00:41:14 uh beautiful imagery that we’re seeing
00:41:17 there and it’s and it’s borne out in
00:41:18 Hebrew culture. But that is the same
00:41:22 idea. So, that’s what he’s talking about
00:41:25 here, the law of her husband. The
00:41:27 husband before they’re married makes a
00:41:31 law, a set of rules that she is to abide
00:41:34 by that will make him happy and and
00:41:39 appreciate and appreciate everything
00:41:41 that she does.
00:41:42 The things that he loves and the things
00:41:44 that he hates are put down in the
00:41:46 cuba. Yeah.
00:41:49 And the same thing goes for Yahwa and
00:41:52 his law. He puts down those things which
00:41:55 he hates and which he loves.
00:41:57 And if you love him, you’ll do those
00:41:59 things which he loves and you won’t do
00:42:00 those things that he hates.
00:42:02 Which is the same thing in the bride and
00:42:06 the husband and that cuba. So I just
00:42:10 wanted to bring that little element of
00:42:11 history in. Uh
00:42:13 that’s good.
00:42:15 It’s more like a cultural thing, but
00:42:17 yeah. Well, whatever.
00:42:20 Onward.
00:42:20 It definitely helps support what’s going
00:42:22 on in these verses here, right?
00:42:25 Yep.
00:42:26 Totally does.
00:42:28 But at Mount Si, there was Torah plus
00:42:34 punishments that was given for them to
00:42:36 be married to him.
00:42:39 Punishments was done to keep them in
00:42:44 remembrance of him.
00:42:47 Yes.
00:42:48 Right.
00:42:48 Hip Yahweh Yeshua is where salvation
00:42:52 comes from, not the law alone. I said
00:42:56 alone.
00:42:57 Okay.
00:42:58 Yeah.
00:42:59 That’s something that a lot of people
00:43:00 get stuck on too. That that’s another
00:43:02 thing a lot of people get stuck on too.
00:43:05 Yeah. Uh the alone word.
00:43:08 Yes. Yeah. Yeah. The alone word.
00:43:10 Yeah. It it is also just going along
00:43:13 with this. Israel was referred to as an
00:43:16 adulteress because she because she
00:43:19 hoarded with other gods.
00:43:21 Yes.
00:43:23 Um as in all Israel, not just the
00:43:26 northern. So
00:43:27 right, the entire the entirety northern
00:43:31 kingdom, southern kingdom, they all went
00:43:32 a
00:43:34 Yeah. If
00:43:35 you’re going to divorce If you’re going
00:43:36 to divorce the northern kingdom, you
00:43:37 have to divorce Judah, too.
00:43:41 Yeah. Okay. So, that’s another subject.
00:43:43 But I I will say um
00:43:47 before my awakening and arising, I did
00:43:49 some whoring. Uh not literally, okay,
00:43:53 but spiritually. Yes. Okay. Um I I I
00:44:02 Yes.
00:44:03 I I I I made Yeshua needing to go to the
00:44:06 cross myself. Okay. Did I I I needed him
00:44:10 to because of my foolishness
00:44:12 as we’ll look at at least I think we
00:44:15 ought at least go through a part in here
00:44:17 that Paul brings that up that it that’s
00:44:19 the same for him also. Okay.
00:44:21 Yeah.
00:44:22 Um all right. So this marriage illusion
00:44:27 here goes along
00:44:30 with what Paul’s teaching other places
00:44:32 that the death of the victim says that
00:44:34 there should be a new covenant a
00:44:36 restored covenant or new covenant
00:44:39 because new and renew the idea is in a
00:44:43 lot of places
00:44:46 I think it’s very much misunderstood.
00:44:49 Okay. I think that causes a lot of
00:44:52 people
00:44:53 to either not
00:44:56 accept Jesso as the Messiah because they
00:44:58 think Paul’s rejecting Torah or to
00:45:02 reject the law as in Torah and whole
00:45:06 because they don’t understand these
00:45:07 things.
00:45:08 Okay.
00:45:09 Right. Um, and and
00:45:13 it’s in the scriptures if we’re willing
00:45:17 to play close attention. And I do
00:45:22 suggest you test me on this. Okay.
00:45:25 Um, all right. So, let’s go to verse
00:45:27 four. Um, John, are you willing to read
00:45:30 it for us?
00:45:31 I am. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also
00:45:34 are become dead to the law by the body
00:45:37 of Messiach, that you should be married
00:45:40 to another, even to him who is raised
00:45:42 from the dead, that we should bring
00:45:44 forth fruit unto Elohim.
00:45:47 Okay. So, there’s something in relation
00:45:49 to that verse that I want to read from
00:45:51 Third Nephi 12 in the Book of Mormon.
00:45:56 Wait,
00:45:56 let me pause and get it up. Okay. He
00:45:59 goes,
00:46:02 Okay. So, there’s a verse in Third Nephi
00:46:04 in the Book of Mormon in chapter 12
00:46:07 starting in verse 43 that uh talks about
00:46:10 an idea similar to this, the idea of
00:46:12 being dead to the old covenant.
00:46:16 Um uh to dead to the old covenant and
00:46:20 alive in a new one. Uh
00:46:24 and that and it’s in third Nephi 12
00:46:26 starting in verse 43. And behold, it is
00:46:28 written also that thou shalt love thy
00:46:30 neighbor and hate thine enemy. But
00:46:32 behold, I say unto you, love your
00:46:35 enemies, bless them that curse you. Do
00:46:38 good to them that hate you, and pray for
00:46:40 them who despitefully use you and
00:46:41 persecute you,
00:46:44 that ye may be the children of your
00:46:45 father who is in heaven. For he maketh
00:46:48 his son to rise on the evil and on the
00:46:50 good.
00:46:52 Therefore,
00:46:54 this is why I say this idea is actually
00:46:56 contingent upon the things that we upon
00:46:59 that previous idea because of the use of
00:47:01 the word therefore. Because God causes
00:47:04 the sun to rise on the evil, you know,
00:47:07 because of all the things that he said
00:47:09 in this chapter, which is basically a
00:47:12 repeat of the sermon on Torah.
00:47:15 Therefore, those things which were of
00:47:18 old time,
00:47:20 which were of the dead husband,
00:47:22 which were of the dead husband,
00:47:24 this is that first covenant that we
00:47:26 looked at in Hebrews 9. Okay?
00:47:29 Right?
00:47:30 Which were under the law.
00:47:33 Okay? So, this is a big deal.
00:47:36 What
00:47:38 does under the law mean? Because I know
00:47:40 a lot of people don’t know this.
00:47:43 There’s a lot of people who say that
00:47:44 under the law simply means under the
00:47:46 curse of the law.
00:47:47 That’s actually what it means is under
00:47:49 the curse.
00:47:49 Yeah, exactly.
00:47:50 The law is under the curse.
00:47:53 Right. And and the transgression and the
00:47:56 old covenant and the old covenant with
00:47:58 its punishments of daily performances
00:48:01 and ordinances that were against them
00:48:04 was under the law.
00:48:06 Yeah. That because that’s a punishment.
00:48:08 It’s a curse. same thing are in Sorry, I
00:48:12 I was going to finish reading for you,
00:48:14 but I’ll let you.
00:48:15 Yeah. Which are were under the law in me
00:48:19 are all fulfilled.
00:48:20 Okay. Yeah. I I I will agree with uh
00:48:24 what people say about the word fulfill
00:48:26 here.
00:48:27 Law of Moses has done away.
00:48:30 Amen.
00:48:30 The punishment has been fulfilled. The
00:48:33 broken he took he took the broken
00:48:37 covenant upon himself.
00:48:40 He took our sins upon him.
00:48:45 He took the but He took the sins of
00:48:49 Israel upon him.
00:48:51 Yeah. Not everybody those
00:48:53 not everybody’s sins but he took
00:48:54 Israel’s sins upon him
00:48:56 as in spiritual Israel not physical
00:48:59 right
00:49:00 just to be specific.
00:49:02 Old things are done away.
00:49:05 Oh, wait, wait. What? What is this? Old
00:49:07 things and all and all things. What in
00:49:09 the world?
00:49:10 Old things are done away.
00:49:14 Old things are the punishments
00:49:16 aka law of Moses
00:49:19 and all things
00:49:20 Torah
00:49:21 has been made a new. They are have
00:49:24 become new or renewed.
00:49:30 This is what he literally says here.
00:49:32 Therefore, for this cause, because Torah
00:49:35 has been renewed without punishments,
00:49:40 I would that ye should be perfect even
00:49:43 as I or your father who is in heaven is
00:49:46 perfect.
00:49:47 Now, I I will add a clarifying
00:49:50 statement. You they could be perfect
00:49:53 before the law of Moses was fulfilled,
00:49:57 right? Yeah. Well, absolutely. Well,
00:49:59 absolutely. It’s uh they
00:50:02 Oh, I I do think the focus is here. Here
00:50:04 I am giving you my law again.
00:50:07 They
00:50:08 you could be they could be perfect in
00:50:11 terms of keeping the law.
00:50:13 Yeah. And I think it’s more
00:50:14 but they couldn’t but they they couldn’t
00:50:17 they could not no man could be
00:50:20 resurrected
00:50:22 until Yeshua was resurrected.
00:50:23 I agree with that statement, but I don’t
00:50:25 and that’s part of the perfection. The
00:50:27 resurrection is a part of the
00:50:29 perfection.
00:50:33 That’s that’s true. But I I do think um
00:50:37 perfect is pointing towards keeping
00:50:40 Torah. And I think what’s going on here
00:50:42 is I have I I am right now helping you
00:50:46 understand Torah so that you can keep
00:50:48 it. There’s no excuse for you to not
00:50:51 keep it. Aka you can be perfect. That’s,
00:50:55 you know, and that’s
00:50:57 that’s
00:50:59 a very valid reading of that.
00:51:01 Sure.
00:51:04 You know, and so it’s and and I won’t
00:51:07 and I definitely don’t intend to argue
00:51:09 about that,
00:51:12 right? But and
00:51:14 so to go along with this, okay, because
00:51:17 I know on sermon on Torah in the New
00:51:19 Testament, he Yeshua does not include
00:51:21 himself as being perfect. Okay,
00:51:24 perfect is sanctification. Yeshua is not
00:51:27 sanctified then. he is now.
00:51:33 Um,
00:51:35 now I I I
00:51:39 can see how some people may go some
00:51:41 different routes, but who doesn’t think
00:51:43 they’re right, right?
00:51:44 Right. Everybody,
00:51:46 there’s a lot of people who have uh
00:51:49 there’s a lot of different a lot of
00:51:51 different opinions on these things and
00:51:52 sometimes uh sometimes u there’s merit
00:51:58 there’s merit to more than one way of
00:52:00 look to more than one angle.
00:52:02 I agree for sure.
00:52:03 Uh so that that’s and I do think that I
00:52:08 do think that what you’re saying what
00:52:09 you’re bringing out here is absolutely
00:52:11 true.
00:52:12 Well, and I will add just because
00:52:14 someone’s resurrected doesn’t mean
00:52:15 they’re perfect.
00:52:16 Well, that’s true because the wicked
00:52:17 will also be resurrected.
00:52:19 Yes.
00:52:20 But but for the righteous but for the
00:52:22 righteous, the ultimate perfection is
00:52:24 found on the other side. Ultimate
00:52:27 perfection. Maybe not in terms of uh you
00:52:31 can become per you can be made perfect
00:52:33 before you’re resurrected. But
00:52:35 well, I along those lines, if you’re not
00:52:37 perfect before your resurrection, you
00:52:38 won’t be perfect after.
00:52:41 say that,
00:52:42 right? But
00:52:43 there is no repentance after death,
00:52:45 right? And that
00:52:46 perfection has to do with keeping Torah.
00:52:51 You can’t repent after you die. And Elma
00:52:56 I’m not
00:52:57 brings out how this Oh, no. I don’t. So,
00:52:59 Elma 34 brings out you have the same
00:53:03 behavior
00:53:05 uh in the resurrection that you had
00:53:07 before you died.
00:53:09 Yes. And that is true. You can’t there’s
00:53:11 no repentance.
00:53:13 There’s no uh after deathbed repentance
00:53:16 which is one of the reasons why these
00:53:19 which is one of the reasons why a lot of
00:53:20 these practices that people do for the
00:53:23 dead are really just silly.
00:53:26 Yeah. Because it if you can’t
00:53:29 doesn’t do any good and you can’t
00:53:31 it’s a waste of blooming time.
00:53:34 Yeah. Yes, it is. Read Alma chapter 40.
00:53:39 It sheds all the light you need on what
00:53:41 you’re doing in your blessed temples.
00:53:46 Well, it it sheds the light on the
00:53:48 futility of what you’re doing in your
00:53:50 blessed temp.
00:53:51 Do you
00:53:52 um
00:53:54 that Yes. Good.
00:53:55 It’s more it’s it’s more that more sheds
00:53:58 a light on the futility of the war.
00:53:59 Yeah.
00:54:00 Yeah. As in bringing out it’s pointless.
00:54:02 But anyways, um so I I I do think these
00:54:07 uh old things done away as in uh I ended
00:54:13 it sounds like there’s a lot of similar
00:54:15 ideas going on here said different ways.
00:54:18 Right.
00:54:19 Right.
00:54:20 And Torah has been renewed or the second
00:54:24 covenant versus the first. And
00:54:26 so let’s go back to Romans chapter 7
00:54:29 verse4.
00:54:30 Okay.
00:54:33 So those all things having been made
00:54:36 having become new.
00:54:39 Okay. Verse four. Wherefore my brethren,
00:54:41 you are become dead to the law. The the
00:54:44 law of Moses.
00:54:46 So dead means it it’s no more. You it
00:54:54 it does you no good to keep the law of
00:54:56 Moses anymore. Why another
00:55:00 way to say this? You are dead to the old
00:55:03 things.
00:55:05 Yeah. Yes. In fact, uh later in this
00:55:07 chapter does bring up the word old and
00:55:10 we’ll get there
00:55:11 by the eventually by the body by the
00:55:15 body of Yeshua of Messiah
00:55:18 or as in the church of the Messiah. Now
00:55:23 that ye should be married to another
00:55:28 Torah without the punishments
00:55:32 uh to another as in Yeshua. Um
00:55:35 yeah, even to him who is raised from the
00:55:38 dead that we should bring forth fruit
00:55:41 unto unto Elohim. Now the the you should
00:55:45 be married unto another. That’s going to
00:55:46 be complete with the kuba. And guess
00:55:48 what? What what loves him and what he
00:55:50 loves and what he hates hasn’t changed.
00:55:54 Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
00:55:56 Stephen,
00:55:57 he changes.
00:56:00 Not
00:56:00 it’s the not word. I I forget what that
00:56:03 word is, but it’s not
00:56:05 Yeah, there you mean the same yesterday,
00:56:09 today, and
00:56:11 forever.
00:56:13 There’s that freaking F for it again.
00:56:16 Sorry. Wait.
00:56:17 Yes. Uh, also I do want to bring out to
00:56:20 help support this, the body of the
00:56:22 Messiah is the renewed covenant.
00:56:25 The body of Moses is the old or old
00:56:30 covenant law, Moses covenant.
00:56:32 So, so when Jude talks about the devil
00:56:35 and Michael wrestling over the body of
00:56:37 Moses,
00:56:39 he’s not talking about the actual
00:56:41 physical body of Moses. No. Just like
00:56:44 here it’s not literally talking about
00:56:46 the literal body of the Messiah. Okay.
00:56:50 Yeah.
00:56:51 Um
00:56:54 this is the church here and also his
00:56:58 death. So that there’s multiple things
00:56:59 here because
00:57:02 uh
00:57:04 if you don’t come into the his church or
00:57:06 his covering, you are
00:57:09 subject to the curse that you broke. And
00:57:11 we get talked about that in a little bit
00:57:13 down here further.
00:57:14 Yeah. You’re a dead man walking.
00:57:16 Yeah. Um because if you’ve sinned,
00:57:20 you’re dead. So
00:57:22 um anyways,
00:57:24 um
00:57:25 verse five.
00:57:26 So there he’s talking about how the
00:57:29 husband or victim died and now you’re
00:57:32 marrying again. Okay.
00:57:34 Yep. Um,
00:57:38 yeah, that sounds like old covenant,
00:57:42 renewed covenant.
00:57:45 Yeah, just like when you uh when you
00:57:48 renew a when you renew a lease,
00:57:51 you can’t stay in your apartment. You
00:57:53 can’t stay in your apartment or house
00:57:54 under the old lease, but under the
00:57:57 renewed le but but you can renew the but
00:58:00 the but the lease can be renewed and you
00:58:03 can still say stay in that same house.
00:58:07 Yes.
00:58:08 Yep. Uh which goes along which is a good
00:58:12 illusion for what’s going on here,
00:58:14 right?
00:58:14 Yeah. That illusion would probably Paul
00:58:17 would teach to uh rental managers and
00:58:22 rental
00:58:24 right.
00:58:26 So anyways
00:58:29 um okay and the fruits that we should
00:58:32 bring forth are the good works defined
00:58:35 by Torah as
00:58:37 Torah
00:58:38 as stated by first John which was
00:58:41 written under after the resurrection.
00:58:44 Dang it.
00:58:47 Yeah, that’s a little that’s a pesky
00:58:49 little bit of information there that
00:58:51 everybody wants to ignore when John says
00:58:54 that uh sin is the transgression of the
00:58:58 law. And yet all these Christians want
00:59:01 to say that the law is no more. So I
00:59:04 guess sin is no more. So I guess we
00:59:05 don’t need Jesus. So why are you
00:59:07 following him?
00:59:09 Yeah, sorry. But yeah, if there’s no
00:59:11 law, there is
00:59:12 Stop using logic.
00:59:15 I no I’m a I’m a software engineer. It’s
00:59:19 too ingrained to me. I cannot wait.
00:59:21 Sorry.
00:59:22 Wait, what is let us reason. How many
00:59:25 times does Yeshua and Yahweh say let us
00:59:28 reason together. He talks about in
00:59:31 Isaiah 1. Let us reason together.
00:59:34 I should also like to point out that
00:59:36 you’re you’re thinking too much, John. I
00:59:38 should also like to point out that every
00:59:40 time he says, “Let us reason together,”
00:59:42 it’s usually because your reasoning is
00:59:43 stupid.
00:59:45 Well, or it’s just
00:59:48 No, it’s it’s that your reasoning is not
00:59:51 quite there.
00:59:53 It’s trying to help Torah. Your
00:59:56 reasoning is not in Torah. That’s right.
00:59:58 And he’s trying.
01:00:01 That’s why he says, “Well, let’s let’s
01:00:03 talk this through.”
01:00:05 Yeah.
01:00:06 Yeah. Let’s actually use logic and talk
01:00:09 this through and see if what you’re
01:00:12 saying makes any sense.
01:00:14 Yeah,
01:00:15 precisely.
01:00:17 Yep.
01:00:18 Okay. So, I’ll read verse five. For when
01:00:21 we were in the flesh
01:00:23 or a natural man,
01:00:26 Yeah. the motions of sins
01:00:30 or the desires of sins or the stirrings
01:00:34 of sins or things stirrings of things we
01:00:37 want to do that we shouldn’t be doing.
01:00:39 Right.
01:00:40 Right.
01:00:41 Which were not according to Torah. Oh,
01:00:45 wait a minute.
01:00:47 What? So the motions of sins or the
01:00:51 inklings or feelings of sins is were not
01:00:54 according to Torah. Wait a minute. So,
01:00:55 it’s not just First John that teaches
01:00:57 sin is against Torah.
01:01:00 No, it’s
01:01:00 Yeah. No, it’s Romans chapter 7, too,
01:01:02 apparently. Uh, yeah,
01:01:04 it’s Paul in his letter to the Romans.
01:01:08 That’s not convenient.
01:01:12 Anyways,
01:01:13 well, I guess it depends on your point
01:01:14 of view. If you’re worried about keeping
01:01:18 Torah, then it’s probably not that
01:01:19 inconvenient. probably makes a lot more
01:01:21 sense.
01:01:22 If you want to be sanctified as DNC
01:01:26 Oh, is I wish I get 84 and 88 mixed up
01:01:30 on this one.
01:01:30 84
01:01:31 84 tells us that the law has a part in
01:01:35 our sanctification.
01:01:37 If you want, but here’s the thing. The
01:01:40 only way
01:01:44 that the scriptures
01:01:47 are a revelation of the unchanging mind
01:01:50 and will of ya
01:01:52 is if Torah is still valid.
01:01:56 Amen.
01:01:56 Oh yes.
01:01:58 In fact on that point let me finish this
01:02:01 verse and let’s bring something out. Did
01:02:04 work in our members. So the motions of
01:02:06 sin
01:02:08 did work in our members to bring forth
01:02:10 unto death because what’s the um
01:02:14 the price of sin is death.
01:02:17 Yeah.
01:02:18 The wage of sin is death. Yes.
01:02:21 Yeah. So it’s like it didn’t change
01:02:23 here. And then also look at this uh new
01:02:26 translation also known as uh Joseph
01:02:28 Smith translation or inspired version.
01:02:32 Not according to Torah.
01:02:35 Yep.
01:02:36 this
01:02:37 that actually brings out another verse
01:02:39 that I want to bring into this
01:02:40 discussion and from
01:02:41 okay so before we do that I want to say
01:02:43 this last statement
01:02:45 here is one of many examples how the new
01:02:47 translation is very pro Torah and let’s
01:02:52 pause for one second
01:02:58 so we were in Romans chapter 7 verse 5
01:03:01 and
01:03:03 that’s talk and that’s talking about how
01:03:05 the um
01:03:08 the workings of sin which are not
01:03:11 according to the Torah.
01:03:14 Um and that brought this verse to mind
01:03:17 in Mosiah 3 19
01:03:20 and it states for the natural man is an
01:03:23 enemy to God.
01:03:25 Oh.
01:03:26 Oh. Let’s talk what a natural man is
01:03:29 someone who uh gives into the inklings
01:03:33 to sin, right?
01:03:34 Yeah. He gives in to the workings of
01:03:36 sin. This is the natural man. They give
01:03:38 in to the workings of sin.
01:03:41 And they are an enemy to God because
01:03:43 they are not according to his Torah.
01:03:45 Yeah. They’re fighting against his way.
01:03:49 Uh-huh.
01:03:50 Correct.
01:03:52 And they and has been from the fall of
01:03:54 Adam and will be
01:03:56 forever and ever unless he yields to the
01:04:00 enticings of the Holy Spirit i.e.
01:04:02 becomes alive in the spirit, which we’ll
01:04:04 read about later,
01:04:05 right? And is no longer the natural man
01:04:07 as he’s saying here, and putting off the
01:04:10 natural man.
01:04:11 Mhm. And putth off the natural man and
01:04:14 becometh a saint through the atonement.
01:04:17 A So this is what this is telling us
01:04:21 where becometh a saint. A saint is one
01:04:24 who is sanctified. Mhm.
01:04:26 Wait, and this is talking Wait, he’s
01:04:29 talking sanctification
01:04:31 before
01:04:34 Yeshua’s crucifixion.
01:04:36 Yes. Yeah. Now, this is one of the
01:04:38 things that many Christians will call an
01:04:40 anacronism, but it is not. There were
01:04:43 people who believed it was it was
01:04:46 actually a fairly
01:04:49 it wasn’t the it might not have been
01:04:51 always been popular but there were
01:04:53 always people who knew that redemption
01:04:55 came only through ya and his grace and
01:04:57 mercy.
01:04:58 Yeah. Abraham knew of it despite uh
01:05:01 people loving to proof text things.
01:05:04 Right. Well, you know, it it u but
01:05:07 anyway that I don’t want to sidetrack
01:05:09 because
01:05:10 Okay, sorry.
01:05:10 That brought that brought up Sorry, that
01:05:13 brought up something else and that would
01:05:14 have been a sidetrack and a half. But um
01:05:17 hold on. Don’t sidetrack the sidetrack.
01:05:21 Right.
01:05:22 Because this isn’t really a sidetrack.
01:05:24 It’s supplemental
01:05:26 to what’s actually in what I’m showing
01:05:29 that it’s supplemental to what’s
01:05:30 actually what we’re actually reading.
01:05:32 But it’s also important to understand
01:05:34 that these same concepts that Paul is
01:05:37 teaching and King Benjamin here in the
01:05:39 Book of Mormon are speaking and King
01:05:41 Benjamin is pre crucifixion and Paul is
01:05:45 post crucifixion. They’re both talking
01:05:49 about the same thing. He died.
01:05:52 So in other words, Yahweh is the same
01:05:56 today,
01:05:58 yesterday, today, and
01:06:00 forever. forever. Okay.
01:06:03 Therefore, you sons of young were not
01:06:05 are not destroyed. Uh becometh a Okay.
01:06:08 Putteth off the natural man.
01:06:10 Yes.
01:06:11 Stops working stops giving into the u
01:06:14 stops working sin.
01:06:15 Yeah.
01:06:16 Becometh a saint through the atonement
01:06:19 of Christ of of y of ysiah.
01:06:25 Yes.
01:06:27 and becometh as a child,
01:06:30 submissive, making, humble, patient,
01:06:34 full of love, willing to submit to all
01:06:37 things
01:06:38 Torah.
01:06:38 Torah.
01:06:39 Torah.
01:06:40 Yep. Which Yahweh seeth fit to inflict
01:06:43 upon him. And the thing is, even if you
01:06:46 don’t accept that all things is Torah,
01:06:50 you can still get that same idea
01:06:53 because what is the one thing
01:06:58 Anyway, what is the one thing that Yah
01:07:01 inflicts upon
01:07:04 us?
01:07:06 His law.
01:07:07 His law. So, you can get that same idea
01:07:11 without the without
01:07:15 um the idea that all things is Torah,
01:07:17 though all things is Torah does cement
01:07:20 that and prove it. Mhm.
01:07:23 among other various phrases all over the
01:07:25 place
01:07:26 and tying and tying together all over
01:07:29 the place. But
01:07:30 I do love the final statement of this
01:07:33 verse. Ben, read it.
01:07:35 Which which Yth inflict upon him even as
01:07:38 a child or follower or apprentice doth
01:07:43 submit to his father or master. I really
01:07:47 wanted to go on the literal angle of
01:07:49 this.
01:07:51 When a child
01:07:54 is
01:07:56 following the law of his father in his
01:08:00 house,
01:08:02 he is willing to submit to his father
01:08:07 and to the law of his father. And that’s
01:08:11 and he has all of these traits that we
01:08:17 see spoken of in the bottom middle of
01:08:21 this verse.
01:08:23 They’re submissive,
01:08:25 meek, not a doormat, but meek, humble,
01:08:30 patient, full of love, and willing to
01:08:35 submit.
01:08:36 You know, and just for the quick
01:08:38 definition of meekness, it is humbly
01:08:40 obedient to Torah. Yes.
01:08:44 And it’s a way of living humbly obedient
01:08:49 to Torah. You’re abiding in Torah,
01:08:53 right? Just like
01:08:54 So, it’s a
01:08:56 it’s resting in Torah,
01:08:59 right? Just like
01:09:02 when a child lives in his father’s
01:09:05 house.
01:09:06 If he abides
01:09:09 in by his father’s rules,
01:09:12 life is good.
01:09:18 Just like life is good for us as the
01:09:23 follower of Yeshua if we submit and are
01:09:28 willing to do so to his law and show
01:09:33 that we love him. This these attributes
01:09:36 show that the child in a literal sense
01:09:39 that the child truly does love his
01:09:42 father or that the follower truly does
01:09:45 love his teacher or
01:09:49 that the servant truly does love his
01:09:54 master. Would that tie to when Yeshua
01:09:57 said, “If you love me, keep my
01:10:00 commandments,”
01:10:02 which by the way is the perfect teaching
01:10:04 of charity, and all these people who
01:10:05 ramble on for hours about it, don’t know
01:10:07 anything, which in two lines.
01:10:12 Yeah. And if you don’t believe us, you
01:10:15 can go check the Hebrew word definition
01:10:17 behind the English translation charity.
01:10:20 It’s um righteousness.
01:10:23 It’s right. It’s just action,
01:10:25 righteousness, which includes of course
01:10:29 giving to the poor. But that is not the
01:10:31 entirety of it.
01:10:32 No, not
01:10:35 it is an important part though,
01:10:37 but it’s not all of it. So,
01:10:41 um,
01:10:42 so yeah. Shall we go back to Romans 7?
01:10:46 Sure.
01:10:48 I’ll try to find one with the double R
01:10:50 in it.
01:10:53 Oh, you don’t have to have a double R in
01:10:55 Spanish. If the letter if the word
01:10:58 begins with an R, you roll the R.
01:11:01 Okay, you would know Spanish better than
01:11:04 me, but anyway. Okay. So just to review
01:11:08 here for when we are in the natural man
01:11:12 the inklings of sin
01:11:16 which were not according to Torah
01:11:20 here again showing that sin is breaking
01:11:23 Torah. So go ahead.
01:11:26 One other thing that I can relate this
01:11:28 between Mosiah 3:19 and this. It talks
01:11:31 about the enticings, yielding to the
01:11:34 enticings of the Holy Spirit. There’s
01:11:35 two things that entice us. Sin and
01:11:38 Torah.
01:11:40 They are both outside of they’re both
01:11:43 outside of ourselves. Though Torah is
01:11:45 given to every man uh through their
01:11:47 conscience,
01:11:48 as in uh men and women, just in case
01:11:51 there’s woke people.
01:11:53 Yeah, I’m using this in the Hebrew
01:11:55 inclusive sense.
01:11:56 Um, but
01:11:57 it’s English inclusive too, just so
01:11:59 you’re aware.
01:12:00 Yeah. Yeah.
01:12:01 It’s not in woke mind. So,
01:12:03 yeah. In woke land, it’s not inclusive,
01:12:06 but in reality, uh, which we tend which
01:12:10 we tend to try to live in here, it is.
01:12:13 Yeah. Yes. Okay. Anyways,
01:12:17 so but yeah. So, there’s two things that
01:12:19 act on us. There’s two things that
01:12:21 entice us. sin and the Holy Spirit.
01:12:24 Yes.
01:12:26 So
01:12:27 that so when you’re giving So what you
01:12:30 have here is when you’re giving in to
01:12:32 the motions of sin, the enticings of
01:12:33 sin, you die.
01:12:36 Yeah. And because
01:12:39 the wages of sin is death. So when when
01:12:43 when we did when sin worked in our
01:12:47 members
01:12:48 to bring forth fruit unto death.
01:12:51 Mhm.
01:12:52 So sinning causes death and sinning is
01:12:56 breaking the law.
01:12:59 Okay.
01:12:59 Yes.
01:13:00 So uh verse six. Now this one can be a
01:13:03 little tricky but knowing that there’s a
01:13:06 difference between Torah and the law of
01:13:08 Moses really helps clear this up. Okay.
01:13:11 Would you like me to read it?
01:13:13 Sure. Go ahead.
01:13:14 But now we are delivered from the law
01:13:17 wherein we were held.
01:13:19 Okay. Were
01:13:22 what? What? Okay. I I know I’m maybe
01:13:25 being like really stupidly trying to
01:13:28 bring something out.
01:13:30 Were is past tense.
01:13:33 Correct.
01:13:35 And so Paul has a statement that
01:13:37 something ended at the cross.
01:13:40 Yeah.
01:13:42 being dead to the law that we should
01:13:46 serve in newness of spirit in of spirit
01:13:50 sorry and not in the oldness of the
01:13:54 letter.
01:13:54 Yeah.
01:13:55 Okay. So being dead to the law. So this
01:13:58 is pointing to cyani
01:14:00 they sinned were dead and they got uh
01:14:05 Torah plus some punishments. Okay.
01:14:08 Correct.
01:14:09 Which whi which old covenant was
01:14:13 actually under the law.
01:14:15 Yeah. Uh because under the law it deals
01:14:17 with being under the curse of the law.
01:14:20 Okay. We need to under the law is under
01:14:24 the curse. Okay. And that’s defined by
01:14:27 Paul. I forget where. Anyways, sorry. I
01:14:31 can’t it’s hard to remember everything.
01:14:33 But under the law is under the curse.
01:14:36 And you can get this from one of the
01:14:37 dreams that Joseph of Egypt interpreted
01:14:41 where the one that had the crows uh
01:14:44 above him and pecking him.
01:14:47 That’s the baker. The baker.
01:14:49 The baker. Yeah. The baker. And uh the
01:14:52 crows were giving him the curse. And he
01:14:55 was under the law. He was under the
01:14:58 crows. The curse. Anyways, where the one
01:15:01 that repented
01:15:03 parttook um was the wine cup holder and
01:15:08 wine represent the chief butler.
01:15:11 Yes. And he wine represents joy and the
01:15:14 atonement. Okay.
01:15:16 Yes.
01:15:17 And he gave and he pressed the wine into
01:15:19 Pharaoh’s cup
01:15:21 and was reinstated
01:15:23 uh in and was and was given back his
01:15:26 position.
01:15:27 Yes. Yes. So uh now that we were serve
01:15:32 in newness of behavior. Yes. Spirit
01:15:36 means behavior.
01:15:39 Uh we we could actually let’s go look at
01:15:42 the Greek word under that just real
01:15:43 quick. Okay. So I’m going to pause for a
01:15:45 second.
01:15:48 Okay. So here’s the Brian Standard um
01:15:51 translation, but well focus on spirit.
01:15:56 uh renew the serve in renewed way of the
01:16:00 behavior or wind breath and spirit which
01:16:05 those who uh know the Hebrew word I
01:16:09 can’t say it Ben you want to say it for
01:16:10 me I’m not even
01:16:13 yeah
01:16:15 uh that is when breath and spirit and
01:16:17 Torah okay
01:16:19 okay the renewess of behavior defined in
01:16:23 Torah
01:16:25 and not in the old
01:16:28 way
01:16:30 of the written code or we’ll go do the
01:16:33 King James which I think um and not in
01:16:36 the oldness of the letter. Um so this is
01:16:41 law of Moses had to be kept to the
01:16:44 letter. Okay.
01:16:46 Every sacrifice performed to exactness.
01:16:50 Yeah. Now I I will also say that Torah
01:16:54 uh has to be kept by the letter too but
01:16:56 the focus is on your behavior
01:16:59 not
01:17:00 doing something at a particular time of
01:17:03 the day and stuff like that. Okay. Yeah.
01:17:06 Well, and and the and the way that it
01:17:09 was the particular time of day um
01:17:15 is to uh is to remind them as they’re um
01:17:21 as they are uh going about the
01:17:24 particular times of day that the
01:17:25 offerings were offered was to remind
01:17:27 them as they were going about their work
01:17:30 that they had and the way that the
01:17:32 offerings were required to be offered
01:17:35 was to remind them that they had
01:17:38 violated the covenant.
01:17:40 Yeah. And where to find salvation is to
01:17:43 Yeshua because on this point uh
01:17:46 important things happened between the
01:17:49 mornings and between the evenings of
01:17:51 when these lambs happened in Yeshua’s
01:17:54 last hours of his life. Okay.
01:17:56 Yes.
01:17:56 And so it’s pointing to Yeshua when you
01:17:59 start getting into the details. But
01:18:02 yeah, it’s pointing to the it’s pointing
01:18:04 to the husband who that who they were
01:18:06 unfaithful to.
01:18:07 Yeah. Which goes back to verses two and
01:18:10 three.
01:18:11 Right.
01:18:13 So the more and more this is pointing
01:18:16 how
01:18:19 law Moses is done but Torah is still
01:18:23 valid.
01:18:24 Yeah.
01:18:25 Okay. There is a difference.
01:18:28 Um, and I know that it’s probably a new
01:18:31 concept to most
01:18:34 but I am trying to bring it out with the
01:18:37 help of my friends here. So anyways, so
01:18:40 Ben, you want to reverse seven?
01:18:42 Yeah.
01:18:44 Uh, what shall we say then? Is the law
01:18:48 sin?
01:18:49 Okay. So he’s like Torah is still valid,
01:18:52 right?
01:18:53 Well, what that is this is these are
01:18:55 rhetorical questions.
01:18:57 The response to the rhetorical questions
01:19:00 is what says Torah is still valid. God
01:19:05 forbid the law be sin. And in other the
01:19:10 um
01:19:12 the Greek there
01:19:15 let let’s take a look at that.
01:19:17 Okay. Let me sure.
01:19:21 He’s he’s going to pull it up.
01:19:22 I’m getting there. Yeah. Yeah.
01:19:24 It just takes me a minute to push some
01:19:26 buttons.
01:19:28 Yep.
01:19:30 You want to go in linear?
01:19:33 Yeah, interlinear.
01:19:36 Okay.
01:19:37 So, let’s see.
01:19:40 Yeah, let me pause for a minute for you.
01:19:42 How about that?
01:19:43 Well, the problem is is that it’s so
01:19:45 small. I’m having a hard time seeing it.
01:19:47 That’s the issue.
01:19:47 Okay. Well, let me pause and we can get
01:19:49 the right
01:19:54 Okay. So this this we’re here we are in
01:19:57 Romans chapter 7:7
01:19:59 going into the um that phrase um God
01:20:04 forbid and the actual Greek in there is
01:20:12 meito
01:20:15 which really means
01:20:19 literally let it never be. But this is a
01:20:22 translation of a Hebrew phrase
01:20:25 which means basically
01:20:29 the person who thinks this let him be
01:20:31 accursed.
01:20:34 Now uh for those who don’t know Paul was
01:20:37 a Hebrew and very studied Hebrew. Right.
01:20:42 Right. So,
01:20:43 so this is a translation of a Hebrew
01:20:45 phrase that means if you think this
01:20:50 you are accursed.
01:20:52 Yeah. Because you’re saying
01:20:55 Yeah. So because you’re because you’re
01:20:58 saying that God is that the mind and
01:21:01 will of Yah is a sin
01:21:06 is sin. It’s evil.
01:21:11 So, let’s go back to um
01:21:14 Sure. A new translation.
01:21:16 Yep. To the new translation.
01:21:21 Oh, actually, this is just King James.
01:21:23 But anyways, sorry about that
01:21:25 right here. This verse is all just King
01:21:27 James because this is actually one of
01:21:29 the clear verses in this that’s really
01:21:32 very very inconvenient for the
01:21:35 anti-nomian position
01:21:37 which is anti-law. Just so people aware.
01:21:41 So what shall we say then? Is the law
01:21:44 sin? If you think this, you are a
01:21:46 cursed. Nay, I had not known sin but by
01:21:50 the law.
01:21:51 Okay. So he here’s another example where
01:21:56 Torah defines what is sin,
01:21:58 right?
01:22:00 For I had not known lust except the law
01:22:03 said, “Thou shalt not covet.”
01:22:06 So I would not I think probably a better
01:22:08 translation here would be I have not
01:22:10 known what lust was without the law
01:22:13 telling me about it.
01:22:15 Right. Right. And so uh yeah so the
01:22:19 thing is is
01:22:21 we can lust we can lust after a lot of
01:22:24 things. Lust is not just associated with
01:22:27 sex.
01:22:28 No no it’s coveting as he’s bringing out
01:22:30 here as a connection to the 10th
01:22:33 division of Torah. So That’s why he’s
01:22:35 connecting it to the 10th division of
01:22:37 Torah because shoot
01:22:41 I used to l I I used to lust I used to
01:22:45 after Mountain Dew I used to find ways
01:22:48 to get to it and buy it and drink it.
01:22:54 I can attest to that.
01:22:56 My life revolved around
01:23:01 making sure that I had it. I don’t know
01:23:04 if it was that bad, but anyway.
01:23:06 Well, at one point it was.
01:23:07 It was.
01:23:08 Oh, okay. All right.
01:23:11 It may not have been at that point when
01:23:13 you went to visit him last, but
01:23:15 yeah, I can attest to it as well.
01:23:18 But the but and that is a form of lust.
01:23:24 Yeah.
01:23:29 Or coveting. Lust and coveting together.
01:23:32 So,
01:23:33 yeah. Lust and coveting are invariably
01:23:35 tied to each other.
01:23:37 Yeah.
01:23:37 Um lust is al lust is also tied to um
01:23:41 lust is also tied to gluttony. Lust is
01:23:43 tied to practically uh to a lot of the
01:23:48 um
01:23:49 to a lot of the um human to a lot of
01:23:53 what we review what we view as human
01:23:55 failings.
01:23:57 Well, um, so, uh, the five divisions of
01:24:02 Torah dealing with your neighbor and
01:24:05 yourself do fall into covet. So,
01:24:10 they’re specific ways of coveting um,
01:24:14 that are important enough to bring out,
01:24:16 but anyways.
01:24:17 Yeah. So, so that so that’s what’s going
01:24:21 on here. He’s he’s not he’s uh the best
01:24:26 way to read that last line is simply
01:24:30 I wouldn’t know what
01:24:32 sin I wouldn’t know the whole way to
01:24:34 read that last part of the verse is I
01:24:36 wouldn’t know what sin is if I didn’t
01:24:38 know the law.
01:24:40 Yes. Yeah. And he’s giving a specific
01:24:42 example of that there in the end we’re
01:24:46 dealing with the 10th division covet.
01:24:49 So, and so here’s a here’s a question
01:24:52 for people who think that the law was na
01:24:54 that that the Torah was nailed to the
01:24:57 cross
01:24:59 because we have to get we really
01:25:01 actually do have to be very careful at
01:25:02 this point because
01:25:04 a law was nailed to the cross
01:25:08 but not Torah. Yeah, it’s now I I do
01:25:12 understand
01:25:14 uh I’m interpreting which law was nailed
01:25:18 to the cross, but I do think there’s
01:25:21 lots of evidences that we have gone
01:25:23 other places including the timing of 430
01:25:27 years
01:25:28 uh after Abraham when law Moses was
01:25:31 given. So,
01:25:32 by the way, just well and here’s another
01:25:35 thing too.
01:25:38 If you’re not, if you’re keeping the ten
01:25:41 commandments,
01:25:43 you’re keeping a part of Torah. If
01:25:47 you’re saying that Torah was nailed to
01:25:49 the tree, what the hell are you living
01:25:52 then?
01:25:54 Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, the 10 divisions of
01:25:57 Torah or the Ten Commandments are the 10
01:26:01 basics
01:26:03 or beginnings.
01:26:05 Yeah. or uh categories
01:26:08 and every other and every other law in
01:26:13 the five books of Moses and that’s and
01:26:17 that is or that is talked about every
01:26:20 bit of law that is talked about after
01:26:23 those after those five books of Moses
01:26:26 they all relate to one of the ten
01:26:29 commandments.
01:26:31 Yes. Yeah. there they’re there they’re
01:26:32 there
01:26:34 10 divisions or the f or the 10
01:26:36 categories. Okay.
01:26:38 Right. And and if you don’t think I if
01:26:41 you don’t I’m just for instance um food
01:26:46 kosher
01:26:48 just for a shortand
01:26:50 um
01:26:53 thou shalt not murder including thyself.
01:26:57 Yeah. by uh slowly by eating poisonous
01:27:01 food,
01:27:02 right? It’s it’s really come it’s a part
01:27:06 of thou shalt not murder.
01:27:08 Yeah, it is.
01:27:09 Uh and or thou
01:27:12 you know now if you’re not so so that is
01:27:17 the so that’s the whole thing behind.
01:27:20 So e even these laws that everybody
01:27:22 objects to uh
01:27:26 the holy days, thou shalt thou shalt
01:27:28 love the Lord thy God with all thy
01:27:30 heart, with all thy mind, with all thy
01:27:31 soul. Thou shalt keep and remember the
01:27:34 Sabbath day to keep it remember the
01:27:35 Sabbath day to keep it holy. Uh all of
01:27:38 those things are tied up in the holy
01:27:39 days because the holy days Sabbaths.
01:27:42 Yes, there are uh there’s three types of
01:27:44 Sabbaths. So Yes.
01:27:46 Yeah. So all of that’s tied up in this
01:27:49 all of that all that’s tied up all these
01:27:52 commandments that uh that um the lawless
01:27:56 set want to complain about
01:28:00 they’re all rooted in the ten
01:28:01 commandments.
01:28:04 Yeah. Yeah. Which they say are still
01:28:07 valid. But maybe they’re just what they
01:28:10 mean is their own understanding of it is
01:28:13 still valid, not
01:28:16 what uh the holy prophets stated as what
01:28:22 they mean, which is tricky because uh
01:28:27 Yeshua in the New Testament states that
01:28:29 Torah hangs
01:28:31 uh on love that’s from the law and the
01:28:35 commentary of the prophets. I know I
01:28:37 messed up the quote, but anyways, the
01:28:39 idea is there.
01:28:40 What? So, going back going back to
01:28:42 Romans again, so we can proceed on. What
01:28:45 shall we say then? Is the law sin? God
01:28:47 forbid, nay, I had not known sin, but by
01:28:49 the law, for I had not known lust,
01:28:52 except the law had said, thou shalt not
01:28:54 covet. But sin, taking occasion by the
01:28:57 commandment.
01:28:59 Okay. Sin is offended by the presence of
01:29:03 the commandment. Mhm.
01:29:04 Man of sin is offended by the presence
01:29:07 of the
01:29:07 and so just so people are aware in case
01:29:09 they’re not catching Ben’s bringing out
01:29:11 how taking occasion means being
01:29:13 offended. Okay. It’s a that’s an English
01:29:16 phrase that maybe some people don’t know
01:29:18 but taking occasion is being offended.
01:29:21 Yeah. But sin being offended by the
01:29:24 commandment wrought in me all manner of
01:29:26 concupisence. Now concupisence actually
01:29:29 means basically just lustly lustful
01:29:31 desires. uh you’re looking around.
01:29:33 You’re just you want everything. It’s
01:29:36 all all yours. You don’t want to but you
01:29:39 don’t but you definitely but you
01:29:41 definitely want it for a five finger
01:29:42 discount. But anyway,
01:29:47 not necessarily just by five finger
01:29:49 discount, but uh I I’m I’m say I’m
01:29:54 trying to be trying to be a little
01:29:55 light.
01:29:57 Basically, basically what you’re saying
01:29:59 is it it must be yours at all costs.
01:30:02 Right.
01:30:02 Yes.
01:30:03 Right. Including the cost of your
01:30:05 integrity and your
01:30:07 Yes.
01:30:08 Yes.
01:30:09 For without the law, without the
01:30:12 commandment,
01:30:14 the sin was dead. There was nothing for
01:30:16 sin to act on to cause him to rebel.
01:30:19 Yeah.
01:30:20 Yeah.
01:30:21 If there’s no law, sin that that the
01:30:25 enticing the sin has nothing to entice
01:30:27 you with. It doesn’t have an opposite to
01:30:29 entice you with.
01:30:30 Well, and there’s and also it’s just
01:30:33 kind of bring out how there’s no sin
01:30:34 without the law is probably a quick way
01:30:37 of stating in another way what’s there.
01:30:40 Right.
01:30:41 Right.
01:30:41 The law, no sin.
01:30:43 Yep.
01:30:45 Sin being dead is saying there’s no more
01:30:48 sin.
01:30:49 Yeah. Just like when I die, I I am no
01:30:53 more.
01:30:55 Yeah.
01:30:55 Without the law, there is no sin.
01:30:58 There’s probably a more modern way of
01:31:00 saying that.
01:31:01 Yep. But uh that doesn’t mean But that
01:31:06 but you look but when you look in Second
01:31:08 Nephi, you realize that that’s not
01:31:10 necessarily that that’s not at all.
01:31:13 Yeah. So 2 Nephi 2 and Elma 42 both
01:31:17 teach that without the law
01:31:19 that is not a good alternative.
01:31:22 Yeah. Yeah. But the law is still there.
01:31:24 Okay. It’s eternal,
01:31:27 right?
01:31:28 Well, just like just like just like
01:31:30 Yahwa is eternal, his mind and will is
01:31:33 eternal.
01:31:34 Yeah. And and if he there’s no sin, why
01:31:36 do you need a Messiah? That he’s just
01:31:38 telling us up earlier that we need to be
01:31:41 uh connected to So, there’s one thing
01:31:44 that I would encourage everybody
01:31:47 to get out of their lexicon when they’re
01:31:50 trying to interpret scripture, and that
01:31:52 is the word now in relation to now
01:31:57 versus then.
01:31:59 Because otherwise, you’re applying a
01:32:02 faulty lens to your interpretation of
01:32:04 scripture except as it pertains to the
01:32:08 punishments. Because punishments have a
01:32:11 just like when you lay a say you ground
01:32:14 your kid, you’re grounded for a week,
01:32:18 it’s got it’s already got a it’s already
01:32:21 got its expiration date built in.
01:32:25 So that so the only way that now and
01:32:28 then should ever apply is when you’re
01:32:31 talking about punishments.
01:32:34 I I think as in uh the abishment of is
01:32:39 what he’s trying to get to. As in
01:32:41 punishments do not need to be eternal is
01:32:43 I think what he’s trying to get at.
01:32:45 Yeah, that’s that’s basically it. But
01:32:47 the law itself is eternal. So if there’s
01:32:50 something that should be done if there’s
01:32:52 something that’s stated that should be
01:32:53 done in the New Testament that maybe you
01:32:55 don’t understand was stated in the Old
01:32:56 Testament, guess what? It probably was
01:32:58 stated in the Old Testament. You don’t
01:32:59 understand it,
01:33:01 but it’s always been true.
01:33:04 Yes. Uh
01:33:07 Torah has not changed.
01:33:09 Uh but punishments have as in
01:33:15 um they’re not eternal. Okay? They don’t
01:33:18 need to be eternal. Some will be if you
01:33:21 don’t come under his covering.
01:33:23 So if Yeshua sends a special vision to
01:33:25 Peter to tell him to preach to the
01:33:26 Gentiles, what does that say? That means
01:33:28 that the Gentiles should always have
01:33:30 been preached to.
01:33:32 Okay. So on this point, um,
01:33:37 it was a mixed multitude that left with
01:33:40 Moses that everybody loves to forget
01:33:42 about. It was a mixed multitude at Sinai
01:33:44 that the law was gi or Torah was given
01:33:46 to. They were also told that it’s that
01:33:50 same law that’s given to everybody, the
01:33:52 nativeborn and the foreigner,
01:33:54 right?
01:33:55 They were also supposed to give and
01:33:57 preach this to other people. They just
01:33:59 did not. And um
01:34:03 Yahweh was helping Peter let go of false
01:34:07 tradition that he grew up with in there
01:34:11 that actually goes along with the end of
01:34:14 the 70 years from Daniel 9. Okay. But
01:34:18 but they were they were always the Torah
01:34:21 was given to them so that they might
01:34:22 show the wisdom
01:34:26 of Yah.
01:34:28 Yes. on and not just in action. The way
01:34:31 the the one of the primary way yes we
01:34:34 show his wisdom as we act out Torah in
01:34:36 our lives but the other way that we show
01:34:38 his wisdom is as we show what makes
01:34:42 sense and
01:34:43 and Israel is referred to as the
01:34:45 firstborn and the firstborn son always
01:34:48 or should be teaching the other
01:34:51 siblings. Okay.
01:34:54 Um they’re supposed to be the example,
01:34:57 right? So anyway,
01:34:58 once I was alive without transgression.
01:35:01 Okay. So I want to interject a little
01:35:03 bit. So verse 9 is another one of the
01:35:06 tricky verses. Okay. So well Ben can go
01:35:10 finish reading now and then we’ll talk
01:35:12 about how to make it unticky. Okay.
01:35:15 For once was alive without transgression
01:35:18 of the law. But when the commandment of
01:35:21 Christ Oh, did he just call the the law
01:35:24 the commandment of Christ?
01:35:26 Yeah. Well, because the Messiah is
01:35:28 Yahweh. So,
01:35:29 Right. But I’m I’m just pointing that
01:35:32 out. It’s something that people need to
01:35:33 realize. He just called the law the
01:35:35 commandment of Christ.
01:35:37 Yeah.
01:35:38 When the commandment of Christ came, sin
01:35:41 revived and I died. Now, the main reason
01:35:43 why I want to bring that out is because
01:35:45 one of the really petty
01:35:49 picky talking points that lawless
01:35:52 Christianity always likes to bring out
01:35:55 is that we’re not supposed to obey the
01:35:57 law of Moses. We’re supposed to obey the
01:35:59 law of Christ. That we’re not supposed
01:36:00 to obey that that we’re not supposed to
01:36:02 obey the Torah. We’re supposed to obey
01:36:04 the law of Christ.
01:36:06 Well, here Paul just equated the law of
01:36:08 Christ with Torah.
01:36:11 Yeah. because he’s talking about two
01:36:13 laws here using different words. The law
01:36:15 of Moses and Torah. Okay? And Torah uh
01:36:19 is the law of the Messiah because the
01:36:22 Messiah is Yahweh who gave it. Okay?
01:36:25 Now, let’s talk um this one thing. For
01:36:29 once, I was alive without transgression
01:36:31 of the law.
01:36:33 Now, I will admit that the the scripture
01:36:36 that makes this the most obvious what’s
01:36:38 going on here is the Book of Mormon, but
01:36:40 it’s also in the five books of Moses.
01:36:42 Okay? Uh and I can look that up uh
01:36:45 because I don’t have memorized, but this
01:36:47 is that the law is not given to little
01:36:51 children, those who are under the Hebrew
01:36:54 8, which is the age of accountability.
01:36:57 And I will say uh modern science has
01:37:01 even confirmed this that something
01:37:03 changes in the brain at seven Greek
01:37:07 which is 8 Hebrew
01:37:10 which allows them to start understanding
01:37:12 the consequences of choice.
01:37:14 Yeah. So it it help it’s and what what
01:37:17 is right and what is wrong. Okay. So uh
01:37:22 science
01:37:24 proves out what the scriptures have
01:37:27 taught for
01:37:29 since Adam. Okay?
01:37:31 Right?
01:37:32 So
01:37:34 once I was a little child under the age
01:37:37 of seven Greek
01:37:40 uh and I was without transgression
01:37:42 because I mean it’s very brought out in
01:37:45 five books of Moses and Deuteronomy. I
01:37:47 can find the verse and also in the Book
01:37:50 of Mormon in a couple places that little
01:37:52 children are without the law.
01:37:55 Thus, they don’t have the consequence,
01:37:56 the transgressions. Okay?
01:38:00 But after they become the age of
01:38:02 accountability, here came Yahweh giving
01:38:05 them the commandments as in uh that all
01:38:10 men are given the light of Christ, the
01:38:14 law of the Messiah.
01:38:17 And then
01:38:18 and now sin has an opposite. And now sin
01:38:20 has something
01:38:22 to tempt them with.
01:38:24 Well, now
01:38:26 now they’re sinful because now that
01:38:29 they’re doing
01:38:31 Yep.
01:38:32 they if they keep doing what they
01:38:34 shouldn’t have been doing in the first
01:38:35 place, they’re they now are in sin.
01:38:38 Yep.
01:38:40 Because they’ve been given the law.
01:38:43 Okay. And then they get the wages of
01:38:48 sin, death. So then Paul’s bringing out
01:38:51 here that when he was uh under 8 Hebrew
01:38:56 or inclusive or Greek 7 exclusive time
01:39:00 of years,
01:39:03 he didn’t have any transgressions. He
01:39:05 was sinless because he didn’t have the
01:39:08 law. But then he was no longer a child
01:39:11 to quote somewhere else from Paul.
01:39:14 Yep.
01:39:17 And now he’s dead
01:39:20 because of Jesus and his death. Okay.
01:39:22 His sin his sin convicts him. Um now the
01:39:26 main thing is is don’tice once again the
01:39:30 second Nephi chapter 2 lets us know that
01:39:32 a lawless state is not where we want to
01:39:34 be.
01:39:35 Uh, no it’s um you’ll be nashing and
01:39:40 railing of teeth. So anyways, but let’s
01:39:43 not get into that because we’ve already
01:39:45 sidetrack sidetrack sidetrack.
01:39:47 Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So I I do think with
01:39:50 the understanding of little children
01:39:55 and little children only are the only
01:39:57 ones without the law. Okay.
01:39:59 Right.
01:40:00 And Paul, despite I never knew him as a
01:40:03 child, he was a child one time because
01:40:05 he did come from his mother. Okay. So,
01:40:09 and that’s what’s going on there.
01:40:10 Yeah. It’s at one point all of us were
01:40:13 children.
01:40:14 Yes.
01:40:15 Just like at one just like it’s at one
01:40:17 point all of us will die. And when that
01:40:20 time comes,
01:40:24 we will know of assurityity of our guilt
01:40:26 if we have.
01:40:28 Okay. You want to do verse 10, Ben?
01:40:31 And when I believe And when I believed
01:40:33 not
01:40:35 the when I believed not the commandment
01:40:37 of Christ which came which was ordained
01:40:39 to life. Oh, wait. The commandment is
01:40:42 ordained to life.
01:40:44 Yeah. Uh Torah is life just like
01:40:47 Yeshua’s life. In fact,
01:40:49 to have eternal life, you need first and
01:40:53 foremost come under the Messiah’s
01:40:55 covering and then second to keep it,
01:40:59 which is the baptism of the Holy Torah.
01:41:02 Oh, I mean Holy Spirit.
01:41:04 So when I believe behavior,
01:41:06 so when I believed not the commandment
01:41:08 of Christ, which came, which was
01:41:10 ordained to life, I found it condemned
01:41:14 me unto death. What is it that condemned
01:41:16 him unto death? Was it the law or was it
01:41:18 the fact that he didn’t believe in it?
01:41:21 It was the fact that he was breaking it.
01:41:24 Yeah. And and I do love that this is
01:41:27 when I believed not the commandment.
01:41:30 He’s saying he believed not, but he’s
01:41:32 talking about how he broke the law.
01:41:35 Yeah. So, Hebrew
01:41:37 unbelief equated with disobedience.
01:41:41 Yes. Hebrew is a functional language. If
01:41:44 you don’t believe it, that’s because
01:41:45 you’re not doing it. If you do believe
01:41:47 it, it’s because you’re doing it or at
01:41:49 least trying to do it, right?
01:41:52 Yes.
01:41:54 So, here here’s a new translation here
01:41:57 that really makes Romans 7
01:42:00 pro Torah.
01:42:02 Yeah. This Yeah, this sorts out the This
01:42:06 sorts out that which is made this sorts
01:42:10 out that which was um which has been
01:42:13 rendered u in
01:42:16 And this sorts out the difficult
01:42:18 teaching of Paul.
01:42:21 Yes. Not that um I don’t believe
01:42:25 the problem is Paul per se in this case.
01:42:29 I do think some words were removed.
01:42:31 Okay.
01:42:33 Yeah. And yeah,
01:42:36 that would be an interesting that would
01:42:38 be an interesting study to go through
01:42:39 the translation and see what might have
01:42:41 been removed. But uh
01:42:43 well these bolds are res restorations.
01:42:46 They’re not the there’s nothing that’s
01:42:48 been removed that that could have come
01:42:49 from. So
01:42:51 yeah,
01:42:52 uh those were restored. Um
01:42:55 so I do believe this came from the pen
01:42:58 of one of Paul’s scribes as Paul was
01:43:01 talking
01:43:03 but
01:43:05 was removed for whatever reason,
01:43:07 accidental or purpose. Okay.
01:43:08 Right. And and that not every removal
01:43:11 not every omission is a malicious error.
01:43:15 Oh yeah. Uh copying by hand is tedious.
01:43:19 Okay. So
01:43:22 and there will be and you’ll miss some
01:43:23 words.
01:43:25 Yeah. Um I I I I
01:43:30 one thing you could like scribes to is
01:43:32 data entry today. Data entry. There’s
01:43:35 errors in data entry because
01:43:38 copying from one place to another you
01:43:40 it’s a long term doing a lot of it is
01:43:44 errorrone. Okay.
01:43:46 Anyways so avers so anyways it’s
01:43:49 bringing out how it’s breaking Torah
01:43:53 which brought him unto death because the
01:43:55 wages of sin is
01:43:59 death.
01:43:59 Death. Yes. Thank you for reminding me
01:44:01 Ben because I think I might have forgot.
01:44:04 Yeah. And since the last five verses
01:44:06 that we talked about that.
01:44:08 Yeah. Well, I have memory problems.
01:44:12 No, I don’t. But anyways, uh
01:44:14 sin taking occasion denied the
01:44:18 commandment.
01:44:21 Sin is what causes us to deny the law.
01:44:25 Right. And now look at this. Here’s
01:44:26 another instance of the New Translation
01:44:29 being very pro- Torah here. Mhm.
01:44:35 So without the new translation through
01:44:37 Joseph Smith, for sin taking occasion
01:44:40 the commandment. Oh wait, so this
01:44:43 without the new translation is saying
01:44:45 the commandments or Torah is sin.
01:44:49 For sin taking occasion by the
01:44:51 commandment received me. So once again
01:44:55 it it becomes simply what I see is that
01:44:58 it’s becomes for sin taking occasion uh
01:45:02 it’s being offended by the commandment
01:45:06 deceive me.
01:45:07 Well I so I I taking other things into
01:45:10 account I agree but that’s not there.
01:45:14 Yeah. Uh it it’s Yeah. This this makes
01:45:18 it a sin’s hand in our denial of the
01:45:20 law. Uh much more active.
01:45:25 Yeah. Um because sin’s breaking the law.
01:45:29 Wait a minute. That’s in First John.
01:45:31 Dang it. Um but
01:45:34 And that’s after the resurrection, by
01:45:35 the way. So, nope. Not done away with.
01:45:37 Um
01:45:37 Yeah. Yeah. And First John even says he
01:45:40 has to walk as Yeshua walked. And no one
01:45:44 rejects that Yeshua kept Torah.
01:45:47 Yeah. For sin taking occasion denied the
01:45:50 commandment and deceived me. And by
01:45:55 sin deceived him
01:45:58 or breaking the commandments deceived
01:46:00 him or these inklings that we talked
01:46:02 about earlier deceived him, right?
01:46:05 Yeah. It’s those two things, those two
01:46:08 waring things, sin. Sin and the Holy
01:46:12 Spirit. Sin on the left hand, Holy
01:46:14 Spirit on the right. We’ll put it that
01:46:17 way. Those two things are trying to
01:46:22 entice us towards them.
01:46:26 Yes.
01:46:27 In charge of sin
01:46:31 or who who entices to sin?
01:46:34 Uh our natural man and Satan and his
01:46:37 minions. um mortal and and
01:46:41 ones that haven’t even gotten a physical
01:46:43 body. So anyways,
01:46:45 and who enti who entices to law or to
01:46:49 the holy
01:46:49 uh Yahweh
01:46:51 uh and his servants?
01:46:53 Yes. So these twin forces are always
01:46:56 acting on us. One deceives one one
01:47:00 deceives sin, one tells the truth.
01:47:04 Law.
01:47:04 Yeah.
01:47:06 And then this last part, and it is by
01:47:08 sin that I was slain or put to death
01:47:12 because the wages of sin is remind me
01:47:16 death.
01:47:17 Death. Okay. All right. Cuz I I see my
01:47:20 memory is apparently not very good.
01:47:22 Okay. So I we could keep going, but I do
01:47:26 think these verses uh these beginning
01:47:29 ones are the bigger issue ones. But I I
01:47:32 mean you can see just briefly here that
01:47:35 the new translation is uh very more pro
01:47:40 Torah than King James is uh throughout
01:47:43 this. Okay.
01:47:45 And the and the new translation is a
01:47:48 restoration of what was before.
01:47:52 Yes. I and um mostly I think sometimes
01:47:56 as Ben also believes though there’s
01:47:58 occasionally Joseph Smith is just trying
01:47:59 to make it easier to understand but
01:48:03 little less King Jamesishish a little
01:48:05 less King Jamesish.
01:48:06 Yeah. But I there’s enough here in this
01:48:08 chapter that I do believe there’s actual
01:48:11 restorations of words that were lost.
01:48:13 Okay. So I there it’s
01:48:18 not just one in thing in the uh new
01:48:21 translation but I do believe a lot of
01:48:23 this especially even even just this one
01:48:25 word not that’s not trying to make it
01:48:27 just easier to understand that’s
01:48:29 actually correcting and bringing words
01:48:31 back. Okay. Well, and and a lot and
01:48:34 you’ll see how a lot of it makes how a
01:48:37 lot of these how a lot of these uh
01:48:39 restorations
01:48:42 really bring us back to this idea that
01:48:47 we bring us back to this truth
01:48:50 that there is a battlefield in this
01:48:53 world going on for our minds and our
01:48:56 souls.
01:48:59 Yeah.
01:49:00 Satan
01:49:02 battles with Ya.
01:49:06 And Yoha’s primary weapon in this
01:49:10 battle, he has two major weapons in this
01:49:14 battle.
01:49:17 Yeshua
01:49:20 and Torah.
01:49:23 And those two
01:49:26 are what will defeat
01:49:30 the devil.
01:49:32 Yeah.
01:49:33 Along with his servants that Well,
01:49:36 well, yes, because Well, but we’re going
01:49:39 But the two major ones are Yeshua and
01:49:41 the law. So,
01:49:42 Yep. Those are the two major weapons. Uh
01:49:45 the the servants use his servants use
01:49:48 the law and they preach Yeshua.
01:49:51 Yeah.
01:49:53 So, uh, they preach Yeshua crucified and
01:49:56 resurrected.
01:49:58 So, just to review real quick, if that’s
01:50:00 fine, a lot of what’s going on, uh, at
01:50:03 the beginning part of Romans 7 is
01:50:06 bringing out contrast between Torah and
01:50:09 law of Moses and how the husband Yeshua
01:50:14 had to be the victim that died from
01:50:17 Hebrews 9. and going along with the
01:50:22 renewed covenant from Jeremiah 31 and
01:50:27 also uh old and new uh which deals with
01:50:32 that same idea from Jere Jeremiah 31 but
01:50:35 is explicitly stated in
01:50:38 uh JS or new translation Exodus 34 and
01:50:41 in the DNC
01:50:44 is it 84
01:50:47 um among many other places. Okay. And
01:50:51 another thing is how little children
01:50:56 are free of sin.
01:50:59 They’re under Yeshua until they become
01:51:02 in the age of canability,
01:51:04 which is Hebrew 8, Greek 7, which
01:51:08 science confirms something changes in
01:51:11 the mind, in the brain. Okay?
01:51:15 Because they they’re being able to start
01:51:17 to see
01:51:19 right and wrong and consequences. Okay.
01:51:22 Yep.
01:51:24 So, with that, hopefully this makes
01:51:26 Romans 7 more understandable. Okay.
01:51:32 Um, and I say this name is Yeshua, the
01:51:35 Messiah. Amen. Amen.
