00:00:05 so I had a
00:00:08 thought about a week or so back as I was
00:00:12 uh driving back from dropping Mt off at
00:00:16 work he had another funfilled day of fun
00:00:19 and adventure for
00:00:20 him
00:00:23 um I uh as I was driving back I was
00:00:28 thinking about the the way that the
00:00:31 early
00:00:33 Christians identified
00:00:36 themselves uh the
00:00:38 early the Early um Jewish Christians
00:00:42 identify themselves they identifi
00:00:45 themselves as
00:00:47 kesim which is uh which is a blending of
00:00:51 two
00:00:52 words Kesh which is the spirit and IM
00:00:58 follower kesim follower of the
00:01:02 spirit um and I
00:01:05 thought and I also thought about um the
00:01:09 uh the words uh the words that are used
00:01:13 to describe the apostles and The
00:01:15 Disciples of Jesus in the uh Hebrew
00:01:19 gospels they’re called
00:01:22 talim uh talmid again a blending of two
00:01:27 words talmid is a teacher
00:01:31 and IM is
00:01:32 follower the apostles were referred to
00:01:36 as
00:01:38 tadim before they were
00:01:42 Kim and that’s the way it is with all of
00:01:45 us all of
00:01:47 us the idea is to get to the point where
00:01:51 you can follow where you’re living in
00:01:53 the spirit where you’re living in the
00:01:54 spirit because you know the mind and
00:01:57 will of
00:01:58 God so well because you’re living in
00:02:01 it that you uh that you understand when
00:02:05 the promptings that you re when the
00:02:07 spiritual promptings you receive are
00:02:08 from God and when they are
00:02:11 not uh and partly the way to do that is
00:02:14 to know his
00:02:16 Torah because if it goes against his
00:02:18 Torah it wasn’t from him that’s right
00:02:21 even says that and such are
00:02:26 kesim but we all start from a place
00:02:30 just like the apostles just like
00:02:32 yeshua’s Apostles we all start from that
00:02:35 place where we are
00:02:37 T we have to follow the
00:02:40 teacher because the teacher helps us to
00:02:44 the te the teacher the teacher helps us
00:02:46 to learn
00:02:47 things and he helps us to see he helps
00:02:50 us to see things correctly that’s why
00:02:52 it’s so
00:02:53 important that we choose a good
00:02:57 talit yeah or a good teacher yes um so
00:03:04 so that we may so that we may be taught
00:03:08 correctly the law of our God that we may
00:03:12 understand his minded will that we may
00:03:14 ourselves become kesim and as we become
00:03:17 kesim following the spirit living in the
00:03:20 spirit walking in the spirit all the
00:03:22 things that we do are by the spirit or
00:03:24 by
00:03:26 Torah for the for the two are the same
00:03:31 yep the the uh are scriptures being a
00:03:37 manifestation of the mind of the
00:03:39 revealed mind and will of
00:03:41 God so
00:03:43 Torah is and Torah being the revealed
00:03:45 mind and will of God the holy spirit
00:03:48 being the mind and will of God they are
00:03:50 the
00:03:51 same we become
00:03:54 Kim
00:03:57 through knowing the Kadesh
00:04:00 knowing
00:04:01 Torah uh so that way we can deliberately
00:04:04 keep it because otherwise that’s right
00:04:07 if you’re not making a choice to keep it
00:04:10 deliberately you’re not being righteous
00:04:13 but it is
00:04:14 important it is vitally important as
00:04:18 we’re getting our
00:04:19 start to choose good to meat and as we
00:04:26 become as we become
00:04:28 kesim for some the spirit gifts them
00:04:32 with the ability to
00:04:35 teach for some it does
00:04:39 not but for some it gives them the
00:04:41 ability to
00:04:43 teach y there’s different gifts of the
00:04:45 spirits um some are teachers some
00:04:49 are um followers now as been mentioned
00:04:52 teachers have to be followers and the
00:04:55 Book of Mormon states that in places but
00:04:58 uh I’d rather look at some other things
00:05:00 but yeah yeah um and so yeah so the uh
00:05:07 and so that is the
00:05:10 so choose
00:05:14 good choose good tell me then you two
00:05:17 will become
00:05:18 kashim yeah so uh real quick here’s
00:05:22 second Nei
00:05:24 2814 uh if you want Ben I can read it
00:05:27 but it goes along with what you’re
00:05:29 saying yes go ahead so they people in
00:05:33 general wear stiff necks and high heads
00:05:35 meaning they don’t listen to God and
00:05:38 won’t change their ways okay yay because
00:05:41 of Pride and wickedness and Abominations
00:05:44 and
00:05:44 whoredoms they have all gone astray save
00:05:48 it be a
00:05:50 few and these few who are The Humble
00:05:54 followers of the
00:05:57 Messiah nevertheless or or but they are
00:06:02 LED that in many instances they do air
00:06:06 or sin because they are taught by the
00:06:09 precepts of men as in they’re listening
00:06:13 to Bad Teachers okay so yeah so the the
00:06:17 main thing
00:06:19 is is that if you are given the gift to
00:06:23 be able to
00:06:26 teach there is a terrible responsibility
00:06:29 that goes with
00:06:34 that and that is that if you teach
00:06:39 lies you damn your soul to
00:06:46 hell um and
00:06:50 so I encourage and so I
00:06:53 encourage all to receive a teaching by
00:06:57 my hand
00:07:00 to test
00:07:01 it do not just believe it because I said
00:07:07 it
00:07:12 because that’s not the found that’s not
00:07:14 a sure foundation for your gaining
00:07:16 knowledge well
00:07:19 so
00:07:22 um it is good to accept truth no matter
00:07:25 where it comes and then and then as Paul
00:07:28 States in act 17 it’s even better to
00:07:31 then go confirm it inside well yeah
00:07:35 because this is how you actually this is
00:07:37 how you actually internalize the words
00:07:40 of the teacher that’s just how you
00:07:41 internalize the words of the to me Y is
00:07:45 you check it yeah and you come to a
00:07:49 knowledge of
00:07:51 it and
00:07:53 so test the tests in in Alma
00:07:57 32 right
00:07:59 you receive the word you receive a
00:08:01 portion of the word and then you perform
00:08:04 the experiment and when you and when you
00:08:07 feel the results and you see the results
00:08:11 of your test and that the fruit of what
00:08:14 you’re doing is good then you
00:08:17 know you have that
00:08:19 knowledge right so um FYI because this
00:08:24 goes along with what Josh is saying the
00:08:27 Book of Mormon does use the phrase by by
00:08:30 on occasion and that means soon in fact
00:08:33 here it is regarding at least in one
00:08:35 verse here but I did not mean to do that
00:08:39 he did it again yeah anyway some apps
00:08:43 are funny but uh but here I believe this
00:08:47 is a verse that goes along with what
00:08:48 Josh is just saying there um Elma
00:08:52 3242 and because of your diligence and
00:08:55 your faith and your patience with the
00:08:57 word in nourishing it I taking care of
00:08:59 it right that it may take root in you
00:09:04 AKA written upon your heart behold soon
00:09:09 you shall pluck the fruit
00:09:12 thereof um and there’s lots of things
00:09:15 that go along with this but that means
00:09:17 you’re you’re going to start doing it
00:09:19 okay and and thus then receive the joy
00:09:22 that comes from it which is most
00:09:25 precious uh and so this is going along
00:09:28 this fruit also is eternal life
00:09:31 which requires that you are doing y’s
00:09:35 Torah okay which is sweet above all that
00:09:38 is sweet and that which is white above
00:09:41 all that is white and as I’m going along
00:09:45 with yahweh’s glory and his ways right
00:09:47 they’re pure this is interesting this is
00:09:49 interesting this idea of by and by being
00:09:52 soon hi Z hi hey Esther how are you yeah
00:09:59 this idea of by and by being soon being
00:10:01 applied to the fruit which is eternal
00:10:04 life which means that you can taste the
00:10:07 fruit the quality of eternal life in
00:10:12 mortality yes yes you can and that’s
00:10:14 where the joy comes
00:10:17 from
00:10:18 um and there’s lots of verses that get
00:10:21 into that um but yeah you can know we
00:10:25 may not have it completely we have a
00:10:29 taste of it we don’t know it completely
00:10:32 and this is where even here I I’m pretty
00:10:35 sure it said taste
00:10:37 right and that is a start of that it’s
00:10:41 not all of it right so but
00:10:44 anyways well and here’s and here’s
00:10:47 another thought to go along with that
00:10:49 right so as we as we come out of the
00:10:52 world and we are living Torah right
00:10:56 because the world and Torah are
00:10:57 diametrically opposed osed to each other
00:11:01 um persecution will follow
00:11:06 right uh yes but there’s a beauty but
00:11:09 there’s a beauty even in the
00:11:13 persecution yeah and that comes from the
00:11:15 knowledge that we
00:11:17 have right that we are doing what we are
00:11:20 supposed to be doing and we know in whom
00:11:23 we place our trust in our faith and we
00:11:25 know that he has overcome
00:11:27 everything so and that goes along with
00:11:31 lectures on faith six um
00:11:35 where Focus here in this lecture is how
00:11:39 once you get that knowledge you are able
00:11:42 to
00:11:44 withstand and that it actually
00:11:46 specifically States that’s how Abraham
00:11:48 was able to withstand and do what he
00:11:50 needed to
00:11:53 do uh if I remembered how to spell um
00:11:58 maybe maybe it’s not Abraham
00:12:01 but uh this lecture does bring out how
00:12:05 as in law of sacrifice um shows that
00:12:07 once you do the sacrifice and keeping
00:12:10 his
00:12:11 Commandments you then are given this
00:12:13 knowledge and then you can
00:12:15 withstand
00:12:17 um oh oh maybe it’s let’s see observe
00:12:20 the religion that does not require the
00:12:21 sacrifice of all things as power
00:12:23 sufficient to the face
00:12:25 necessary I’m trying to find the verse
00:12:29 okay it was in the offering sacrifices
00:12:31 that Abel the first martyr obtained
00:12:34 knowledge that he was accepted of
00:12:36 Elohim and from the days of righteous
00:12:40 Abel to the present time the knowledge
00:12:42 that men have that they are accepted in
00:12:45 the sight of Elohim is obtained by
00:12:47 offering
00:12:49 sacrifice um and and the sacrifice this
00:12:53 is talking about is keeping the
00:12:55 Commandments and the especially when
00:12:58 it’s bringing out
00:12:59 the the offering that Abel did that was
00:13:02 according to Torah okay yes that that
00:13:07 was Passover but anyways sacrifice is
00:13:10 that we are obedient yes to
00:13:13 Torah and that we sacrifice the natural
00:13:17 man and root him out of our hearts to
00:13:19 follow Torah yes very good than and
00:13:23 there’s a there’s a very good scripture
00:13:25 that talks all about that in mosiah 3:1
00:13:27 17 okay let me go let me go
00:13:32 switch that is very
00:13:41 true
00:13:44 because people love to
00:13:46 say that people are naturally
00:13:51 good uh maybe not 17 No 19 sorry
00:13:55 319 people love to say that people are
00:13:57 naturally good guess what that’s not
00:14:00 scripturally
00:14:02 accurate people are not naturally good
00:14:05 for the natural man is an enemy to
00:14:10 God that makes them
00:14:14 evil well the very least Wicked and has
00:14:17 been from the beg and has been from the
00:14:20 fall of Adam and will be forever and
00:14:22 ever unless he yields to the enticings
00:14:25 of the Holy Spirit and putteth off the
00:14:28 natural man and becometh a saint through
00:14:31 the atonement of Christ the
00:14:34 lord of Yeshua hamashiach and becometh
00:14:37 as a child submissive Meek humble
00:14:42 patient full of love willing to submit
00:14:46 to all things which the Lord seeth fit
00:14:49 to inflict upon him now those all things
00:14:51 that the all things which the Lord seeth
00:14:54 fit to inflict upon Him is Torah yeah um
00:14:57 because every all things is a phrase in
00:15:01 many cases means Torah and it does here
00:15:03 and we can um it absolutely means it
00:15:06 here because there is ABS the things
00:15:09 that most of the bad things that happen
00:15:11 to us in our lives are simply the result
00:15:15 of being
00:15:19 mortal we are mortal bad things happen
00:15:23 they are not inflicted Upon Us by
00:15:27 God but to
00:15:29 his mind and
00:15:31 will
00:15:33 is what he gives
00:15:36 us is what is is what is put upon us
00:15:40 even as a child does submit to his
00:15:42 father so we have to be so the uh the
00:15:47 natural man sees Torah as being
00:15:49 inflicted as as an inflicted
00:15:54 wound yep right because now I can’t do
00:15:57 it but we we need to but we need to
00:16:01 crucify the natural man just as Christ
00:16:04 was
00:16:08 crucified we need to crucify the natural
00:16:14 man and with
00:16:16 Christ and with
00:16:19 Christ be laid in the water and with
00:16:23 Christ be raised out of the
00:16:27 water
00:16:30 that we may become a
00:16:34 saint just like when Christ went into
00:16:38 the
00:16:39 Earth or when when Christ when
00:16:44 Christ was when Christ went was in the
00:16:49 uh I believe it’s uh when
00:16:52 Christ was giving us the sign of Jonas
00:16:54 when he was in the belly of the Earth
00:16:57 for three days
00:17:01 and he came up and was risen again so
00:17:04 when we are buried in the
00:17:07 water it
00:17:12 should preceding that we should have
00:17:15 crucified the natural
00:17:17 man and then be raised from the water a
00:17:20 new man or woman in Yeshua
00:17:25 hamashiach a new man or woman does
00:17:28 things in a new way not doing things the
00:17:32 old way with new
00:17:37 excuses and so so this is the and so
00:17:41 this is the thing uh this is this is
00:17:43 where it is this is
00:17:46 why
00:17:48 those who were of those who
00:17:53 followed
00:17:55 Christ in the early days
00:17:58 in the early days called themselves
00:18:01 kesim because they were new men and
00:18:05 women in the spirit upon
00:18:07 baptism sure many instances there are
00:18:11 many instances where they received the
00:18:13 baptism of fire immediately upon
00:18:16 baptism yeah um no just not to put that
00:18:20 down but they they went by multiple
00:18:22 names and that was one of them was not
00:18:24 the only one them
00:18:27 right
00:18:28 but
00:18:31 regardless uh
00:18:33 the
00:18:36 they they were not known as Christians
00:18:39 in the
00:18:41 beginning no no they weren’t
00:18:45 um so one one thing that’s interesting
00:18:48 here on verse
00:18:51 19 um so this holy
00:18:54 spirit is actually saying Torah Cu uh
00:18:58 one one of the definitions of spirit is
00:19:00 behavior and the way that Yahweh Elohim
00:19:03 tells us to behave holy is in his Torah
00:19:07 and that teaches us how to put off the
00:19:10 natural
00:19:12 man now also this brings out how a saint
00:19:17 is someone who has done that there
00:19:20 Saints are those who have been
00:19:24 Sanctified that they’re actually have
00:19:26 put off the natural man not that they’re
00:19:30 still struggling with it and become a
00:19:33 new man or
00:19:38 woman in the spirit living in the
00:19:43 spirit aka the behavior AKA
00:19:49 Torah
00:19:50 yep so that was uh that was your thought
00:19:55 so that’s my thought and the spin-off
00:19:56 from it
00:19:59 so well those were some good thoughts
00:20:01 right and so I I would encourage uh and
00:20:04 so like I say test all
00:20:08 things be be
00:20:12 accept and
00:20:14 test accept what is
00:20:16 true and
00:20:19 test
00:20:21 no and if it is true it will stand the
00:20:24 test yeah as you brought out with Alma
00:20:26 32 and you’ll start getting fruit
00:20:28 right yep and it will start to be
00:20:32 delicious
00:20:35 yes um I forget the verse but that would
00:20:37 be easy most desirable and I’ll tell you
00:20:39 and I’ll tell you was it desirable most
00:20:42 desirable most desirable well which is
00:20:45 it said which is most desirable and
00:20:48 delicious above all other fruit I think
00:20:51 or something to
00:20:52 that yeah so there’s
00:20:57 desire
00:20:59 uh so desire and delicious is there
00:21:02 desire is there more often though so but
00:21:05 they’re
00:21:06 both y yeah and it beginneth to be
00:21:09 delicious to
00:21:10 me so yeah it begin I like this it
00:21:15 beginneth to
00:21:17 Enlighten
00:21:22 mying light in the darkness well and
00:21:26 it’s it’s like I say poro was the light
00:21:29 that God called onto creation on the
00:21:32 first day poro
00:21:34 was yeah
00:21:37 yeah um it’s without that none of this
00:21:41 without that and without Yeshua none of
00:21:43 this is possible because we need both
00:21:46 correct and Torah testifies of the
00:21:50 father and the son which yes correlates
00:21:54 with it being the holy spirit so
00:21:59 ah all these correlations I wonder if
00:22:01 they’re by accident or because it just
00:22:03 is no but you’ve got to understand
00:22:06 anyways I’m not gonna go down that
00:22:08 road anyways
00:22:11 um so pause that was really good thought
00:22:15 Ben that was really good thoughts man
00:22:16 really good thoughts thanks did you
00:22:18 wantan to say something
00:22:21 Zach no no okay all right I’m
00:22:25 pause so I had a thought about the rich
00:22:29 man uh upon the road um that deals with
00:22:34 tithing and Josh would like to hear it
00:22:36 so we’re gonna focus on that and so this
00:22:40 is jst Matthew chapter 19 and we’re
00:22:44 going to start with verse
00:22:47 16 um Josh do you want to read 16 sure
00:22:53 you want me to read the uh the whole
00:22:56 thing without the line with the lineup
00:22:58 jst so cross outs don’t say and bolds
00:23:02 you do say
00:23:05 okay okay okay uh and behold one came
00:23:09 and said good Master what good thing
00:23:13 shall I do that I may have eternal
00:23:16 life so here here’s a rich man just uh
00:23:21 because we know everybody I think this
00:23:24 is pretty famous one but he’s a rich man
00:23:27 coming down the road
00:23:30 and and he’s calling Yeshua good okay
00:23:34 and the first thing he’s do is going to
00:23:35 address that and uh Zach you read
00:23:41 17 and he said unto him why call us thou
00:23:45 me good there is none good but one that
00:23:48 is God but if thou Wilt enter into life
00:23:53 keep keep the Commandments okay so this
00:23:55 is a really interesting thing in verse
00:23:57 17
00:23:58 it’s like uh what he’s saying here
00:24:03 is
00:24:05 he’s the guy Yeshua is sorry you’re the
00:24:09 guy has called him
00:24:10 good and Yeshua is like what he’s
00:24:14 basically saying is you don’t believe
00:24:15 that I am who I am so why are you good
00:24:19 correct he Yeshua is saying you don’t
00:24:20 believe on God so why are you calling me
00:24:24 good right because there’s only one good
00:24:27 person or
00:24:28 only one that has never sinned and that
00:24:30 is Yeshua okay right um but then he he
00:24:34 addresses that and then says if th will
00:24:36 enter into eternal life right I’m adding
00:24:40 Eternal but anyways because it’s up
00:24:42 there uh that’s right
00:24:45 Torah yeah okay so there’s this
00:24:49 residence here of Torah keep Torah to
00:24:51 get eternal life okay
00:24:54 yeah Ben you want to read 18 yeah that
00:24:57 that’s that’s important context by the
00:25:00 way yes it’ll get more clear as go on
00:25:03 it’s important context for the way in
00:25:05 which uh Yeshua frames this up yeah and
00:25:09 he saith unto him
00:25:12 which okay so this is one of those I’m
00:25:15 gonna get smart and Dodge what he’s just
00:25:18 told me right right because he doesn’t
00:25:20 believe he’s God he thinks he’s just a
00:25:23 teacher and he thinks he can trip him up
00:25:25 here right yep so he say to him which
00:25:28 Yeshua
00:25:30 said Thou shalt uh Thou shalt not kill
00:25:36 Thou shalt not commit adultery Thou
00:25:38 shalt not steal Thou shalt not bear
00:25:40 false
00:25:41 witness okay so let’s stop there so
00:25:45 there he listed four there he’s going to
00:25:47 list oh I I’ll read the fifth one he
00:25:49 lists and then we’ll talk about it okay
00:25:52 fifth one he listes honor thy father and
00:25:54 thy mother and thou shalt love thy
00:25:57 neighbor and as thyself
00:25:59 so the this last this first one a first
00:26:04 half of 19 is a specific commandment
00:26:07 from the 10 divisions of Torah okay yes
00:26:10 this last one is a
00:26:12 summary of the five dealing with our
00:26:17 neighbors okay yep um so with that in
00:26:21 mind let’s go and look at my Torah page
00:26:27 and I’m looking at a specific part where
00:26:29 I’m listing the 10 divisions of Torah so
00:26:33 there’s the five that deal with um your
00:26:38 leaders specifically Yahweh and your
00:26:41 parents okay and then there’s the five
00:26:44 dealing with others okay
00:26:47 neighbor did you want to say something
00:26:49 Ben I just said your neighbor your
00:26:52 neighbor yeah sorry sorry if I said it
00:26:54 wrong um so the first one he list is
00:26:57 Thou shalt not murder right right second
00:27:01 one he listed Thou shalt not commit
00:27:03 adultery right Thou shalt not steal Thou
00:27:07 shalt not bear false witness now it’s
00:27:11 interesting
00:27:12 here um that he then lists another one
00:27:16 out of
00:27:19 order now I will tell you he did that on
00:27:23 purpose um so as we can let’s just look
00:27:26 here how
00:27:28 these Ten Commandments have five
00:27:32 principles um so one commandment one and
00:27:35 commandment six both have don’t do away
00:27:38 with
00:27:39 others okay commandment two and
00:27:41 commandment seven has to do don’t betray
00:27:44 relationships commandment three and
00:27:46 commandment eight don’t violate
00:27:48 commandment four Y and nine protect the
00:27:53 truth um and so I need to update this
00:27:56 because this is a little old now part of
00:27:59 commandment 5 and 10 is recognizing
00:28:01 yourself but there is another part in
00:28:03 here that has to do with tithing which
00:28:06 is what we’re going to get at but um
00:28:10 it I do believe it’s
00:28:13 purposeful that
00:28:15 Yeshua stated the fifth in place of the
00:28:20 10th and this even gives fil of the
00:28:26 split of five by five split that I that
00:28:29 I believe in and kind of promote
00:28:33 right now the interesting thing here
00:28:36 both of five and 10 have to De with
00:28:41 tithing different aspects of tithing so
00:28:46 some of tithing goes
00:28:50 to the judges of the church okay right
00:28:55 and that would go along with the
00:28:57 vertical portion of the tithing
00:29:01 commandment the other ones do not covet
00:29:04 has to do with tithing giving to your
00:29:08 neighbor okay those are
00:29:11 two categories of tithing okay um and
00:29:16 that might not be the best way to put
00:29:18 it but there are two different divisions
00:29:21 of tithing or because they both have to
00:29:24 go over these two different Commandments
00:29:25 here now it’s interesting if we go back
00:29:31 here um he brings out what was it verse
00:29:35 19 Thou shalt love the neighbor as
00:29:38 thyself so he’s kind of pointing the
00:29:39 focus is loving your
00:29:41 neighbor right that’s not what’s going
00:29:44 on with the fifth commandment which he
00:29:49 actually States here honor thy father
00:29:53 and mother that doesn’t have to do with
00:29:55 your
00:29:56 neighbor no has to do with your family
00:29:59 right and it actually also then points
00:30:01 to your Authority your parents yep and
00:30:05 God or Elohim okay but uh this does
00:30:10 touch it means your parents
00:30:14 Elohim and
00:30:18 those who and those who um and those who
00:30:23 are called to be a light unto the people
00:30:27 yeah so this has to do with uh leaders
00:30:31 okay um because your father and mother
00:30:33 is a leader the ultimate leader is
00:30:35 Yahweh but he does call other leaders so
00:30:38 the Ten Commandments are kind of
00:30:40 summaries
00:30:42 of everything that goes under each one
00:30:44 of those okay they’re not full pictures
00:30:47 they’re a quick
00:30:51 summary uh because all the other
00:30:55 Commandments will fit under these
00:30:59 10 right right everything else goes
00:31:01 under these in some way shape or correct
00:31:04 form as I’m stating here there’s
00:31:08 two main types of tithing one goes with
00:31:12 your neighbor one goes with your
00:31:14 Authority okay and if I remember
00:31:17 correctly in Torah the one for the
00:31:18 neighbor was levied every three
00:31:20 years uh you had three years to pay it
00:31:24 yeah okay yeah so it is it’s an every
00:31:28 year thing but if you didn’t know who to
00:31:31 give it to you had three years to give
00:31:33 it to someone right right and that is so
00:31:37 there’s multiple aspects of the tithing
00:31:40 to your neighbor some of it you gave to
00:31:44 the priests to give to others like in
00:31:46 Malachi right the storehouse okay right
00:31:49 another part though is that you are to
00:31:52 give to the poor yourself
00:31:55 personally correct
00:31:58 and that and they gave you a three-year
00:32:00 window to do that and then there was
00:32:03 also a uh then you were also to leave
00:32:07 the farmers were to leave the corners of
00:32:10 their land to be gathered by the poor
00:32:13 I.E and that was a t and that was a
00:32:16 tithe as well yeah yeah and that would
00:32:18 go with 10 of with the tithing for your
00:32:21 neighbor okay do not cover it um because
00:32:24 the priests weren’t going out and
00:32:26 Gathering that that was something that
00:32:28 the poor they did themselves and they
00:32:30 put forth effort to do that but anyways
00:32:33 so there’s these two
00:32:34 divisions or two types of tithings or
00:32:38 two basic types of tithing okay now let
00:32:41 let’s go back but so he this instead of
00:32:47 the neighbor tithing he did the Yeshua
00:32:50 did the leader tithing
00:32:54 okay so let’s go read a little bit more
00:33:01 uh oh 20 Josh you want 20 I said yeah
00:33:06 sure the young man said unto him all
00:33:09 these things I’ve kept from my youth up
00:33:12 okay so black guy yet right right so he
00:33:16 this guy was keeping leader tithing
00:33:20 Church tithing okay right he admitted
00:33:23 that he just said that because honor thy
00:33:24 father and mother uh part of so part of
00:33:28 that is actually taking care of your
00:33:30 parents after they are not able to okay
00:33:34 and that gets into the Corbin tradition
00:33:36 that’s in the New
00:33:37 Testament anyways um part of the leader
00:33:41 tithing is taking care of your parents
00:33:44 right
00:33:46 um now here this young rich man is
00:33:49 saying I’ve done all that right and he
00:33:51 thinks he’s pretty hot stuff yeah yeah
00:33:54 he’s like what what else do I need to do
00:33:57 all
00:33:58 right uh Zach you want to read the next
00:34:01 verse
00:34:02 21 wait before we head on you know I
00:34:05 just I just had a thought okay right so
00:34:08 this young this young rich man he
00:34:12 addresses somebody as good master that
00:34:15 he doesn’t believe is the good Master
00:34:18 correct and all of all of
00:34:22 this that Yeshua is setting up right now
00:34:28 is to teach this young
00:34:31 man not only about tithing and and and
00:34:35 obeying tithing stuff like that but
00:34:37 teaching him that yes I am the
00:34:42 one yeah because he’s reading his
00:34:45 thoughts because and
00:34:46 he’s placing and he’s arranging things
00:34:50 very cleverly that people will who are
00:34:53 familiar with Torah will catch right
00:34:56 right yes even to the point that he put
00:34:59 the fifth out of order in replacement of
00:35:02 the 10th they would have caught that and
00:35:06 you’ll see as we go on he that’s brought
00:35:10 out as we continue on through here
00:35:13 okay um so I forget Zach did you read 21
00:35:19 I can’t I don’t think you did no we
00:35:20 haven’t read 21 yet yeah okay yes sure
00:35:24 said to him thought it would be perfect
00:35:27 go
00:35:28 sell that thou Hast and give it to the
00:35:32 poor th shalt have treasure in heaven
00:35:35 and come and follow
00:35:37 me so this has multiple things here
00:35:43 uh if you will be
00:35:46 Sanctified now go do the tenth
00:35:49 commandment and do tithing go sell one/
00:35:53 tenth of your
00:35:55 Surplus such that you can have the
00:35:57 promise in
00:35:58 Malachi right in other plac follow me
00:36:03 and follow me as in I’m
00:36:06 God I am the one that you don’t think I
00:36:10 am right but I I like how he says and
00:36:14 come and follow me not just follow
00:36:20 me this whole thing he chose every
00:36:23 single word that he said with care
00:36:27 because he was he he was trying to reach
00:36:31 this young man he was trying to teach
00:36:33 this young man he was trying to help
00:36:36 this young man
00:36:39 understand all that he needed to
00:36:43 understand you man of
00:36:45 course you know what I like away
00:36:49 but the wording that I like here go sell
00:36:54 that thou Hast
00:36:57 that’s not saying sell everything right
00:37:01 this is where a lot of people interpret
00:37:03 it as an everything sell that thou Hast
00:37:07 I mean that is
00:37:09 just you know because the things that
00:37:13 you the things that are required just
00:37:14 for your sustenance you don’t really
00:37:16 have
00:37:17 them
00:37:19 correct well you have a house
00:37:23 um some people do you own a house
00:37:27 I will I will posit that even that those
00:37:29 who are still paying a mortgage on their
00:37:31 house they don’t have their house have
00:37:33 house well sure sure but not everybody’s
00:37:35 paying a mortgage that has a house
00:37:39 right ta and and they still have to pay
00:37:41 taxes so they don’t actually have their
00:37:43 house
00:37:45 either I think that’s a different issue
00:37:48 uh which I’m happy to get into but
00:37:50 anyways yeah but that’s but that’s
00:37:52 outside of the perview of what we’re
00:37:53 talking about here yeah um but go sell
00:37:58 that thou Hast the things that we have
00:38:01 are the ex are that which is in excess
00:38:04 of our
00:38:05 wants is that which is an excess of our
00:38:08 needs and our wants according to the
00:38:12 doctrine of
00:38:14 covenants do you have a verse for
00:38:22 that while you’re looking so I’m going
00:38:24 to pause I need to here we
00:38:28 go okay doctrine of Covenant section
00:38:31 42:33 this is the um this is where wants
00:38:36 and need this is where this is one of
00:38:38 those scriptures where once and needs
00:38:39 are actually uh ex are actually lumped
00:38:44 they’re kind of put together here uh
00:38:47 with regard so when we pay when we give
00:38:50 tithing to people it’s not just their
00:38:53 needs there is a a a degree of wants
00:38:57 that they are allowed to
00:38:59 have not knowing what this verse says
00:39:02 but just understanding the principle
00:39:04 it’s not all their wants but some of
00:39:07 their wants right it’s not all your most
00:39:09 extravagant wants but you know
00:39:13 that the idea is that there be no poor
00:39:15 among them and again if there shall be
00:39:19 properties in the hands of the church or
00:39:21 any individuals of it more than is
00:39:22 necessary for their support after this
00:39:24 first consecration which is residue to
00:39:27 be consecrated unto the bishop it shall
00:39:28 be kept to administer to those who have
00:39:30 not from time to time that every man who
00:39:32 has need may be amply supplied and
00:39:35 receive according to his wants sure sure
00:39:39 sure right right so in here uh more than
00:39:43 is necessary that is
00:39:46 Surplus right exactly so this is this
00:39:50 this is the point is that the Surplus is
00:39:55 beyond is the Surplus is that which is
00:39:58 beyond
00:39:59 our our needs and reasonable
00:40:03 wants right um and and to get specific
00:40:08 119 says a tenth of the Surplus but if
00:40:11 you want to give more that’s fine but
00:40:14 the minimum is
00:40:15 one% so let’s so let’s also go Surplus
00:40:19 not grow Sur right not everything right
00:40:23 yeah yeah so section 51 well just think
00:40:26 about that if it’s 10% of everything
00:40:28 then technically you should be giving up
00:40:30 10% of the oxygen that you breathe too
00:40:32 but anyway oh so we can be like so so
00:40:36 that we can be like the apocryphal New
00:40:38 Jersey okay anyways so what verse in
00:40:43 51 well there’s several actually let’s
00:40:46 start in verse three I’m sorry I just
00:40:48 had to throw that out there just show
00:40:51 how how thoroughly ridiculous 10% of
00:40:53 everything is yeah it is so starting in
00:40:57 51 verse fact just on that fact I’m
00:41:01 going to Sidetrack just a little bit if
00:41:03 you had 10 or nine Surplus
00:41:07 cows uh how much tithing do you
00:41:11 give zero well yeah zero because you
00:41:15 give the tenth now the elius church
00:41:18 teaches that it’s the first but the
00:41:22 scriptures actually teach it’s it’s the
00:41:25 last it’s not the first cow that you
00:41:28 give it’s the last surplus of 10 cow
00:41:32 that you give so if you only have would
00:41:35 chop you wouldn’t chop the cow’s hind
00:41:38 Quarters off and give the first three
00:41:40 quarters of the cow to somebody here you
00:41:42 go hope this helps well no but that’s
00:41:46 food so I I I I I understand what you’re
00:41:49 saying but it is food so it would help
00:41:51 but but but at a certain point in time
00:41:55 in history they were work animals they
00:41:57 were farm animals they they helped you
00:42:00 oh right so it depends on what the cow
00:42:02 was being used for but one of the things
00:42:04 they are used for is meat because
00:42:06 they’re kosher so can can we get back to
00:42:10 need to wants and needs sure sure sure
00:42:12 yeah go back to three yep wherefore let
00:42:16 my servant Edward Partridge and Those
00:42:18 whom he has chosen and whom I am well
00:42:20 pleased to point onto this people their
00:42:22 portions every man equal according to
00:42:24 his family according to his
00:42:26 circumstances and his wants and needs
00:42:29 also verse
00:42:33 eight right there and the money which is
00:42:36 left unto this people let there be an
00:42:38 agent appointed unto this people to make
00:42:40 take the money to provide food and rment
00:42:42 according to the wants of the
00:42:45 people sure and that that is the a
00:42:49 levite uh who or a meisd Helder who is
00:42:54 acting as the bishop right
00:42:56 right right now verse
00:42:58 13
00:43:02 okay okay and again let the bishop
00:43:04 appoint a storehouse unto his church and
00:43:07 let all things oh wait a minute wait I
00:43:09 I’m
00:43:10 sorry unto this church onto this church
00:43:15 sorry not the church so uh there’s a
00:43:19 difference there this is where each um I
00:43:23 don’t know if this will be Branch or
00:43:25 stake but it’s considered a different
00:43:28 Church than the overall
00:43:32 Grand
00:43:33 Church he’s speaking geographically here
00:43:37 okay so and again let the bishop appoint
00:43:39 a storehouse unto this church and let
00:43:42 all things both in money and let all
00:43:44 things both in money and meat which are
00:43:46 more than is needful for the wants of
00:43:48 his people be kept in the hands of his
00:43:50 bishop and of the bishop and let him
00:43:53 also Reserve onto himself for for his
00:43:56 own
00:43:57 wants and for the wants of his family as
00:44:00 he shall be employed in doing this
00:44:02 business yeah yeah so this is starting
00:44:05 to get into the two types of
00:44:09 tithing um
00:44:12 where here is some areas where I haven’t
00:44:15 completely figured out but this does
00:44:18 show how some tiing goes to judges
00:44:22 Bishops are Judges and they they did
00:44:26 physical work and they are to be paid
00:44:28 for their time contrary to what is going
00:44:31 on right now and it also talks about how
00:44:34 it’s for the poor also okay and here’s
00:44:37 the and here’s the kicker Doctrine in
00:44:38 Covenant
00:44:43 70 hold
00:44:45 on oh sorry 70 yep section 70 oh SE okay
00:44:50 sorry sorry about that section
00:44:54 70
00:44:56 verse
00:45:01 seven nevertheless in as much as they
00:45:04 receive more than is needful for their
00:45:06 necessities and their wants it shall be
00:45:09 given into my
00:45:10 Storehouse yeah yeah which that is the
00:45:15 that is the boldface statement of what
00:45:19 of what I of what I have put forward
00:45:22 that it’s according to our necessities
00:45:25 and reasonable want right right which it
00:45:28 goes along with Surplus in in my hon
00:45:31 opinion but and so that’s the Bas
00:45:33 statement of that sure sure sure and
00:45:35 that is very much worded the same that
00:45:38 we saw in Matthew 19 right honest
00:45:43 opinion I think it’s yeah teaching the
00:45:45 exact same thing right sell that thou
00:45:50 Hast right right so I now it didn’t say
00:45:54 it doesn’t say go sell everything right
00:45:57 right now I think the reason he says
00:45:59 selling is because he probably went and
00:46:03 bought silver pots gold pots gold cups
00:46:07 silver cups so on a lot of I’m sure he
00:46:10 had some I’m
00:46:11 sure he had some luxury items yeah right
00:46:14 right and because this was a rich man he
00:46:18 probably wasn’t dealing in in farm items
00:46:23 so because of that he had to sell what
00:46:26 he had so that what it can then be given
00:46:29 to the money portion could be used to go
00:46:31 buy food for the poor now it is
00:46:34 interesting back
00:46:36 in was it 70 or one of the others I know
00:46:40 some people will try to claim well it’s
00:46:43 only architect or not architecture um
00:46:47 stuff of the land how do you what’s that
00:46:50 I’m having agriculture agult yes that
00:46:52 word thank you they say tithing is only
00:46:55 after that now was it this section or
00:46:58 the other sections so what was the other
00:47:01 was it 42 and what what was the second
00:47:05 uh 51 42 and 51 okay
00:47:08 51 it actually used the word
00:47:12 money all right there verse yes uh 8
00:47:18 11 and 13
00:47:21 specifies money as part of tithing both
00:47:25 in money more of a modern type of thing
00:47:28 because I I don’t know about you I’m a
00:47:30 software engineer I I don’t deal with
00:47:32 chickens very much so I don’t have a I
00:47:36 don’t have
00:47:37 a you’re not missing a lot okay um well
00:47:41 anyways having dealt with chickens um I
00:47:44 can tell you right
00:47:47 now you haven’t missed much well my my
00:47:51 main point is back then they mostly
00:47:54 dealt with can you say the word again
00:47:56 for me agriculture yeah they mostly
00:47:59 dealt in there but not only and so the
00:48:04 scriptures dealt with mostly what they
00:48:07 dealt with and now the judges themselves
00:48:09 would know it go with money and and my a
00:48:12 big support of that that I would have
00:48:14 and I would submit is DNC 51 that we
00:48:17 just went over is talking about money
00:48:20 here it’s has to do with in fact DNC 119
00:48:25 talks about it as an increase even so it
00:48:28 doesn’t matter what it is yeah I think
00:48:32 it’s in verse eight it specifically says
00:48:36 that an agent be appointed to the people
00:48:37 to take the
00:48:39 money to provide food right right now it
00:48:44 it could be chickens or it could be cows
00:48:47 but in in modern society it’s much
00:48:50 easier to deal with it with it was all
00:48:53 purchased through money right right and
00:48:57 and also in verse 13 which we just read
00:48:59 and again let the bishop appoint a a
00:49:03 storehouse onto this church and let all
00:49:06 things both and let all things both in
00:49:08 money both in money money and and meat
00:49:12 which is food which is food which are
00:49:16 more
00:49:17 agriculture yeah yeah which are more
00:49:21 than is needful for the wants of this
00:49:24 people be kept in the hands of the
00:49:26 bishop and a storehouse which is
00:49:29 why U which is why the um injunction in
00:49:38 Malachi uh is actually against those who
00:49:42 were keeping the storehouse because they
00:49:44 were
00:49:45 skimming right so a lot of churches
00:49:49 including the LDS brigite church will
00:49:51 try to say that that chapter is about
00:49:55 the givers no that was about the
00:49:58 takers um that it was condemning um now
00:50:03 one thing I want I think it’s in this
00:50:05 one I forget
00:50:08 um I just want to look at one uh no so
00:50:11 it’s not that one I’m
00:50:16 sorry it’s not that oh maybe it’s this
00:50:18 one
00:50:19 um yeah this is this one so I have dc19
00:50:25 as a km here uh I I have KMS on the
00:50:28 brain but the the thing that’s
00:50:31 interesting here that the kism really
00:50:34 helps
00:50:35 support uh they shall pay one tenth of
00:50:38 their
00:50:40 interest which is uh stands a DC and the
00:50:44 other DC is their Surplus now
00:50:48 interest talks about profit which is Sur
00:50:53 AKA Surplus
00:50:57 correct um because if you don’t have
00:51:00 profit then you just have barely
00:51:03 enough your needs are met you’re good
00:51:07 yeah
00:51:10 right you have
00:51:12 morean you mean being able to being able
00:51:15 to rack up massive profits is not a sign
00:51:17 of being a
00:51:20 prophet those are different spellings
00:51:23 and you know
00:51:24 that
00:51:27 that’s nice play on words there bud yeah
00:51:30 nice play on
00:51:31 words uh but
00:51:35 sadly many false prophets deal with
00:51:38 money
00:51:40 profits right um that that’s that’s what
00:51:44 their desire is exclusively everything
00:51:46 they say everything they say and
00:51:48 everything they do is geared to get more
00:51:51 yeah more money not uh Believers in
00:51:53 Yeshua the Messiah um correct so but
00:51:57 anyways so um it I I do think the case
00:52:02 has been laid out that um we are
00:52:06 to give a tenth or more of our Surplus
00:52:10 right but the interesting the
00:52:12 interesting thing about that is that
00:52:15 tithing is tied both to honoring your
00:52:19 father and your mother and not
00:52:24 coveting yeah
00:52:25 there’s the two main
00:52:27 categories um and Leadership and so on
00:52:34 this honor thy father and mother part
00:52:36 let’s just look at that just real quick
00:52:38 and the uh Corbin from the New Testament
00:52:42 um we can um maybe we should go look at
00:52:45 that verse so let me
00:52:48 pause while the Corbin is mentioned in
00:52:51 the New Testament it’s actually
00:52:52 enshrined in the talut right right well
00:52:55 it’s condemned in the New Testament um
00:52:58 right so uh let’s go get the verse and
00:53:01 then we can talk about it okay so let me
00:53:04 pause while we
00:53:06 okay so we were talking about um so we
00:53:10 were talking about the uh tradition the
00:53:13 oral tradition at this point at the
00:53:16 point of the New Testament it was oral
00:53:17 tradition it got codified into the
00:53:20 toal
00:53:22 um this is that is called called
00:53:26 Corbin
00:53:28 um now it was the
00:53:31 responsibility of the oldest child of
00:53:35 the oldest male child or of the oldest
00:53:37 child in a HEB the oldest male oldest
00:53:40 male child in a Hebrew family to take
00:53:43 care of the parents when they couldn’t
00:53:44 take care of themselves however just FYI
00:53:48 just give them a little background
00:53:49 that’s partly the reason why the eldest
00:53:52 male got the double portion CU some of
00:53:54 that is to take care of the elderly
00:53:58 parent which typically was the mother
00:54:00 but anyways right so so they they they
00:54:05 have the sacred responsibility to take
00:54:07 care of their parents when they can’t
00:54:08 take care of themselves but it was
00:54:13 reasoned among the uh among the
00:54:18 rabbis that if that portion which was
00:54:22 going to take care of their parents
00:54:26 was made corbid or granted to the
00:54:31 temple that they didn’t have to take
00:54:33 care of their
00:54:35 parents because they
00:54:38 had they didn’t have that they that
00:54:42 portion was now was now
00:54:45 given so this is the and this is one of
00:54:48 those uh this is one of those wonderful
00:54:50 arguments you can read about in the
00:54:52 talet if
00:54:54 you
00:54:56 and I say you can read about it because
00:54:58 I have read about
00:55:00 it we I one of the things that bothers
00:55:03 me is when people who love the talmud
00:55:06 tell people who don’t love the talmud
00:55:08 that the reason they don’t love it is
00:55:09 because they haven’t read it well I I I
00:55:12 will admit I haven’t read all of it but
00:55:14 neither have they but I have read some
00:55:17 of it absolutely it is absolutely
00:55:21 impossible to read the entirety of the
00:55:24 talet yeah it’s it’s huge it’s huge um
00:55:28 but I uh I have read some of it
00:55:33 and there are some things that are
00:55:35 useful for it for history and knowing
00:55:37 Traditions that yesu was speaking out
00:55:39 against in the New Testament this is one
00:55:42 example and there are also some other
00:55:45 traditions and there are some there are
00:55:48 some uh I’ve read about some helpful
00:55:51 I’ve read about some traditions that
00:55:53 have helped me um that have helped me in
00:55:57 um in my understanding of certain High
00:56:02 holidays for
00:56:04 instance um that that I found helpful
00:56:07 from the talet but the but generally
00:56:12 speaking um there’s a lot in the talud
00:56:16 that uh
00:56:18 is additional to
00:56:21 Torah and as in yeshua’s ver words makes
00:56:26 Torah no and void so
00:56:31 yes but okay so with that I I think
00:56:34 let’s read this um tradition here that
00:56:38 deals with the
00:56:39 tithing uh portion that dealing with our
00:56:42 leaders including our our parents okay
00:56:45 so there’s Mark 711 I I’ll read this but
00:56:49 you say that if a man says to his father
00:56:52 or mother whatsoever ever you would have
00:56:56 received from me as in to take care of
00:56:59 them is
00:57:01 Corbin which means a gift devoted to
00:57:06 Elohim or to the temple okay um so
00:57:12 they’re getting out of taking care of
00:57:16 their parents with their money and
00:57:19 claiming that this money is to go to God
00:57:22 in the temple despite that haven’t even
00:57:25 given it to God in the temple yet which
00:57:28 is I find ironic but uh it’s also in
00:57:31 Matthew 155 I’ll just read that one real
00:57:35 quick um it’s using it’s not using the
00:57:38 word Corbin it’s the same tradition but
00:57:41 you say that if anyone says to his
00:57:44 father and mother whatever you would
00:57:46 have received from me is a gift devoted
00:57:48 to Elohim he need not honor his father
00:57:53 or mother with it thus
00:57:55 thus you nullify the word of Elohim for
00:57:58 the sake of your Traditions so this is
00:58:02 really bringing out
00:58:04 how people like to claim who don’t know
00:58:08 any better and some that do that the
00:58:11 Sadducees and Pharisees were only
00:58:13 pushing Torah here is a
00:58:16 verse uh and I’m sure if I read more in
00:58:19 mark it 7even it would be there also
00:58:22 that yeser is specifically stating
00:58:25 your false Traditions are making Torah
00:58:28 null and void meaning you’re not keeping
00:58:32 Torah you’re breaking it with these
00:58:34 false
00:58:35 Traditions well yeah and the the thing
00:58:38 about the particularly the tradition of
00:58:43 Corbin was it was it was particularly
00:58:46 offensive to
00:58:48 God
00:58:51 because
00:58:53 here you’re short
00:58:56 changing well you’re totally doing
00:59:01 out you’re F your
00:59:04 parents breaking the
00:59:07 Commandment by promise and all you have
00:59:10 to do is promise to give a double
00:59:16 portion to
00:59:20 God so you make God
00:59:23 stink
00:59:25 by not taking care of your parents which
00:59:28 is uh who gave you life and helps
00:59:34 you make your way in life right and here
00:59:37 you are just completely abandoning them
00:59:41 just like they’re abandoning
00:59:44 God right well not only are you
00:59:47 abandoning
00:59:48 God you are
00:59:51 defaming
00:59:53 God
00:59:55 you are turning your back you’re you are
00:59:57 turning your back on all that is
00:59:59 good right you think about when you
01:00:02 think about that act when you think
01:00:04 think about it in its totality
01:00:08 right you are saying mom and
01:00:12 dad you get nothing because God gets
01:00:18 everything um and that’s what God has to
01:00:21 say to
01:00:23 you
01:00:25 that’s what you’re
01:00:26 saying and God says the actual opposite
01:00:29 in the New Testament
01:00:31 um um one thing it’s a vile pernicious
01:00:34 teaching but yes uh so one thing I will
01:00:38 say real quick that this goes against in
01:00:41 the Greek World they love retirement
01:00:46 funds and that people are supposedly are
01:00:49 supposed to take care of themselves with
01:00:50 retirement funds I see something
01:00:53 different with honor thy father and
01:00:55 mother as even as Yeshua brought out
01:00:57 because it’s bringing out these New
01:01:00 Testament verses that we read bring out
01:01:03 how um the children specifically or more
01:01:09 primarily the firstborn son is to take
01:01:13 care of the
01:01:17 parents uh when they get old and they
01:01:19 can’t do it
01:01:20 themselves it’s not the fact that they
01:01:23 have a retirement fund
01:01:25 that they stay alive it’s because the
01:01:27 firstborn son takes care of
01:01:30 it and if you think about it the
01:01:32 retirement fund is is just another way
01:01:34 of saying I can save
01:01:36 myself yeah yeah it’s not trusting God
01:01:41 correct um and it’s trusting men that in
01:01:45 multiple cases through history has shown
01:01:48 uh it it do falls through it falls
01:01:52 through yeah um
01:01:55 in many countries they have the same
01:01:57 system but they’re further advanced in
01:02:01 the problems that
01:02:03 the the equivalent Social Security or
01:02:07 retirements give them almost absolutely
01:02:10 nothing right we’re very quickly getting
01:02:13 to that point even in the United States
01:02:16 yes I agree it’s getting we’re already
01:02:18 hey we’re already
01:02:20 there well it’s better in the USA than
01:02:23 it is in other countries that I I know
01:02:25 of but it’s getting bad so but let let’s
01:02:30 go back and read
01:02:32 some ma Matthew chapter 19 yeah yeah
01:02:35 let’s go back there um trying to
01:02:38 remember where we left off 22 left off
01:02:42 at 21 I
01:02:44 believe so yeah go be San if you want to
01:02:47 be
01:02:49 Sanctified uh go and sell your Surplus
01:02:53 and give it to the poor
01:02:56 right okay so 22 Josh you want to read
01:03:00 it sure okay but when the young man
01:03:04 heard that saying he went away
01:03:08 sorrowful or he had great possessions
01:03:12 now okay so I want to go look at uh
01:03:16 Torah and that division of Torah that
01:03:21 deals with this um cuz what happens when
01:03:26 someone has lots of possessions what do
01:03:28 they start
01:03:30 doing they start coveting he coveted his
01:03:34 own
01:03:35 possessions
01:03:37 yeah how messed up is that yeah he
01:03:41 wasn’t willing to give it up well the
01:03:43 whole thing is is that covetousness is a
01:03:46 very Insidious
01:03:49 sin yeah it’s uh a root for many sins
01:03:54 actually now one thing I will say no
01:03:57 mortal judge can judge you on this
01:04:01 commandment okay uh because you would
01:04:05 have to know their hearts and Men does
01:04:08 not know other people’s hearts men only
01:04:11 knows their actions correct in fact for
01:04:15 the most part I would say that your
01:04:19 average person doesn’t even know their
01:04:20 own
01:04:21 heart because they think they’re good
01:04:24 right right which goes against lots of
01:04:26 scriptures which I could show if we
01:04:28 wanted to Sidetrack we just the natural
01:04:31 man is an enemy to God yeah yeah and
01:04:34 that’s an example of that spr one oh
01:04:36 yeah yeah but I mean ones that actually
01:04:37 specific specifically State heart but
01:04:40 it’s the same teaching just different
01:04:42 imagery right right right right so the
01:04:45 yeah most most people don’t know their
01:04:48 own heart or their own
01:04:51 mind they’re not that aware of
01:04:53 themselves
01:04:56 they’re very one thing for sure they
01:04:59 most people don’t study torus so that
01:05:02 way they can discern right and wrong so
01:05:04 they don’t know what’s going on because
01:05:07 they don’t know what is right and wrong
01:05:08 right right when you live in a constant
01:05:10 state of confusion it’s very hard to
01:05:12 know your heart or your mind sure sure
01:05:16 um also I do think
01:05:19 considering that I now I know I’m
01:05:22 reading into this some but but that rich
01:05:26 man on the road was keeping the fifth
01:05:28 commandment so he was giving tithing the
01:05:31 portion or the type of tithing that was
01:05:33 for his parents and leaders in yahweh’s
01:05:37 church okay probably one of those Corbin
01:05:40 guys yeah yeah and maybe that’s maybe he
01:05:43 was a Corbin guy because he was not
01:05:45 doing it for his
01:05:48 neighbor um and which brings us back um
01:05:54 um to this part the last part of verse
01:05:56 19 Thou shalt love thy neighbor as
01:05:59 thyself showing that he was not doing
01:06:04 that no he he cared about himself way
01:06:09 more than his neighbor to the point he
01:06:13 wasn’t even willing to give up his any
01:06:15 of his Surplus to help his neighbor he
01:06:19 went away
01:06:21 sorrowful yeah so um that’s probably one
01:06:24 of the to me that’s one of the saddest
01:06:27 phrases in scripture yep
01:06:31 absolutely absolutely you know when when
01:06:34 when I when I read that
01:06:40 and it hits me every time
01:06:44 because when he walked away
01:06:47 sorrowful it’s because he knew at that
01:06:50 moment who he
01:06:53 was
01:06:54 it had been revealed to him by Yeshua
01:06:58 who he
01:06:59 was and he didn’t want to he wasn’t
01:07:01 willing to change so this could be
01:07:04 likened on a nashing and wailing of
01:07:06 teeth right here’s what’s here’s what’s
01:07:08 sad for me he was with
01:07:12 Yeshua but he went
01:07:15 away right he wouldn’t listen to him he
01:07:18 went away
01:07:20 sorrowful
01:07:22 yeah and that to me is the saddest part
01:07:26 of it he was with Yeshua in that
01:07:29 moment and he went away right but he
01:07:32 didn’t recognize who he was right we
01:07:36 talked I’m not saying that he did right
01:07:39 right I’m just saying you know how many
01:07:43 people turn their backs on turn their
01:07:45 backs on Torah not realizing that
01:07:47 they’re turning their backs on
01:07:50 Yeshua right right I I agree I agree
01:07:53 it’s the same
01:07:54 situation and they like many people in
01:07:58 the world today will actually hate
01:08:00 Yeshua and not recognize him because of
01:08:02 what he
01:08:03 teaches
01:08:07 yeah which goes
01:08:09 along sorry say that again because it’s
01:08:12 not mainstream right right and it goes
01:08:14 along with the saying that
01:08:16 recogniz yeah it goes along with the
01:08:19 saying that we will recognize him
01:08:20 because we will be like him right
01:08:26 because people want saviors who are like
01:08:30 themselves well yeah because they tell
01:08:33 them it’s okay uh was is it Helman five
01:08:36 or 13 or something that you like the
01:08:40 prophets because they tell you all is
01:08:42 well in Zion I mean I’m
01:08:45 paraphrasing yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
01:08:47 yeah if one come among you yeah I know
01:08:50 what you’re I know what you’re referring
01:08:52 to yeah if one come among you saying
01:08:56 peace all is
01:08:57 well uh for your money you can be
01:09:00 forgiven of your sins him you will
01:09:02 accept and build
01:09:04 up right which um sounds a lot like a
01:09:08 lot of churches including the one I grew
01:09:10 up in the ldas brigite church because I
01:09:13 they’re loaded
01:09:16 it’s they so it is all of
01:09:20 Christianity teaches this Doctrine yeah
01:09:23 yeah yeah
01:09:24 um some are worse than others um but yes
01:09:28 you know and
01:09:30 and while I say all of Christianity I
01:09:32 would say I I will qualify that by
01:09:36 saying
01:09:41 that all the churches all the churches
01:09:45 well I I would put most but and on this
01:09:48 example that Ben bring up with the
01:09:50 churches they have the same problem uh
01:09:54 it is slightly different because the
01:09:56 preachers should not be getting paid
01:09:59 because that’s priestcraft that’s
01:10:01 another uh subject but they’re giving to
01:10:05 the
01:10:07 leaders uh tithing to the supposed
01:10:11 leaders that are practicing priestcraft
01:10:14 right right then they’re not actually
01:10:16 giving to the poor so there
01:10:20 most Christians and and Jews I will say
01:10:24 also cuz I know what they do are in the
01:10:26 exact same situation as this rich man on
01:10:29 the road and nor are they take and nor
01:10:32 are they taking care of their parents Mo
01:10:34 most
01:10:36 of put them in uh they put them in
01:10:39 nursing homes paid for by paid for by
01:10:42 their Medicaid they’re not really taking
01:10:45 care of their parents yeah yeah I agree
01:10:48 I I I I I take an educated guest I
01:10:51 wouldn’t say I wouldn’t say I wouldn’t
01:10:53 say most but a lot do yeah I I I would
01:10:56 say this young rich man was not doing
01:10:59 that um is my educated guess from the
01:11:02 text but I don’t know absolutely right
01:11:05 right well but I’m going that is a
01:11:09 modern-day problem I’m going back to I’m
01:11:11 going back to the idea of
01:11:13 Corbin uh sure sure right right right
01:11:18 because what you have in
01:11:20 modern uh
01:11:22 churchianity
01:11:25 is a whole lot of
01:11:28 Corbin yes and the same situation that’s
01:11:33 going on with this young rich man right
01:11:36 yep um so we could read the rest of this
01:11:39 because it gets into a few other things
01:11:41 or we could call this good I I’ll let um
01:11:44 Josh decide because he’s the one I think
01:11:47 I think it’s I think this is good it
01:11:50 gave me another way to look at this
01:11:53 particular
01:11:54 happening um in the in the New Testament
01:11:58 and you know open my eyes up to a few
01:12:00 more things and
01:12:01 just just how
01:12:04 personally Yeshua knows every single one
01:12:08 of us because how he talked to that rich
01:12:11 young
01:12:13 man he knew him oh yeah he knew him and
01:12:18 he knows
01:12:19 every single one of us the same way
01:12:24 and
01:12:25 um that that was what came to my
01:12:29 mind today as we were going through this
01:12:32 I mean the tithing points were very good
01:12:34 and and thank you Stephen and Ben for
01:12:38 for for taking the lead on that I
01:12:40 appreciate it um you’re welcome the
01:12:41 thing that really came to my mind is
01:12:45 how well he knows every single one of us
01:12:52 well and um amazing yeah he does and for
01:12:56 me and for me you know I had to deal
01:13:00 with a lot of the
01:13:03 misinterpretations of uh this
01:13:06 particular
01:13:08 experient
01:13:10 the biggest most prevalent
01:13:13 misinterpretation of
01:13:14 this is
01:13:18 that you know Yeshua tells the rich
01:13:21 young man to keep the Commandments
01:13:24 the rich young man says I’ve been
01:13:25 keeping the Commandments since I was
01:13:26 born and then Yeshua gives him a
01:13:29 personal
01:13:30 commandment yeah I I I growing up in the
01:13:33 LDS church uh that is a common one that
01:13:37 is stated and this is not what’s going
01:13:40 on here no it’s not um I I I think
01:13:45 though most
01:13:47 people are trying to understand it and
01:13:50 they’re doing their best of what they
01:13:52 think they know to understand it though
01:13:54 it’s very far off I can tell
01:13:58 you that at one point um
01:14:04 I I can’t remember when it was but it
01:14:06 was sometime last year but there in one
01:14:09 of our lessons we were going over this
01:14:11 story and when I started going into you
01:14:14 know what I had learned about this story
01:14:21 it yeah I got the uska look a lot from a
01:14:25 lot of people in that room and I was
01:14:28 just like no but he’s just telling him
01:14:30 that he’s the young man’s telling Jesus
01:14:34 Christ he’s living the Commandments and
01:14:35 Jesus Christ is telling him no you’re
01:14:37 not right right and that’s what’s going
01:14:39 on and hopefully you can show that even
01:14:41 better now right yeah no yeah yeah this
01:14:45 this thank you there’s multiple points
01:14:49 how it it’s he’s bringing out how this
01:14:51 man was not not keeping the
01:14:55 law um for one the perfect which is uh
01:15:00 means Sanctified which means keeping the
01:15:02 law in fact even in there it it kind of
01:15:05 brings out how keeping Torah will make
01:15:08 you perfect even in the context there
01:15:11 correct absolutely absolutely and
01:15:14 knowing how there’s the two divisions of
01:15:17 Torah and how
01:15:19 Yeshua did one out of order in
01:15:22 replacement of the other also helps kind
01:15:25 of bring things out of what’s going well
01:15:28 it
01:15:29 just it just goes to show that he was he
01:15:32 was highlighting hey I gave you these
01:15:34 Commandments for a reason right and it
01:15:36 wasn’t so you could twist them it was so
01:15:38 that you could keep them right right but
01:15:41 he knew which one he was not
01:15:43 keeping and he he shows that from the
01:15:47 very beginning in the way that
01:15:51 he personalized the message for him
01:15:54 right yeah right exactly in in a way
01:15:58 that
01:16:00 only could have gotten through to that
01:16:02 young man right
01:16:04 right and it did get through but he
01:16:08 turned his back on it right and walk and
01:16:12 went away
01:16:15 sorry yeah so one thing uh I I I had a
01:16:21 false interpretation before I
01:16:23 had understanding of Torah I thought he
01:16:26 was calling him to be an apostle there
01:16:30 um but it’s not for one he didn’t even
01:16:32 recognize who he was so I understand
01:16:35 it’s wrong now um but in the past I was
01:16:40 doing what other people doing trying to
01:16:42 make sense out of it with what I
01:16:46 had right which actually kind of ignores
01:16:49 some of it right because he wouldn’t be
01:16:52 calling someone apostle that who didn’t
01:16:54 believe he was Elohim so right exactly
01:16:58 well it ignores the most important
01:17:00 aspects of it yeah right right but now
01:17:02 that I am striving to keep Torah and I
01:17:06 do put good effort into that it’s just I
01:17:08 I get that phrase from Nephi Nephi says
01:17:10 he stroes to keep it right but anyways
01:17:14 um it makes a lot more sense
01:17:17 now right right there’s there’s no
01:17:20 little gotz that I we have to ignore
01:17:23 to make it
01:17:24 fit now all fits correct and it’s and
01:17:30 that’s why it is become one of my
01:17:31 favorite
01:17:33 happenings um you know from the from the
01:17:37 life of
01:17:39 Yeshua yeah well he was the great
01:17:44 teacher he was the greatest feacher
01:17:48 which is why the apostles chose what
01:17:51 which is why the disciples
01:17:53 who would become Apostles chose wisely
01:17:56 when they chose to become his tadim yeah
01:17:59 yep
01:18:00 yeah um and and on that issue I will say
01:18:04 picking a
01:18:07 teacher is a very important
01:18:10 decision yep and declaring yourself a
01:18:15 teacher is a very
01:18:18 important
01:18:20 step that needs careful consideration
01:18:25 yeah uh because in fact let me get this
01:18:28 up I was going to show earlier then we
01:18:30 got Sidetrack
01:18:33 but um so there’s a couple here maybe
01:18:38 this one Ben you want to read you’ll
01:18:40 probably like this jacob 22
01:18:44 yeah now my beloved Brethren I Jacob
01:18:47 according to the responsibility which I
01:18:49 am under to God to magnify my office
01:18:53 with soberness and that I might rid my
01:18:55 garments of your sins oh wait wait
01:18:58 that’s the part he Jacob’s a teacher and
01:19:01 he’s a leader so if he’s not doing
01:19:05 everything he can who’s he’s not only
01:19:09 sin SP he’s not only responsible for his
01:19:11 sins he’s responsible for the sins of
01:19:14 the nation well those who are underneath
01:19:17 him right right um now Jacob being the
01:19:21 top leader at that time it was Nation
01:19:25 but it depends on your um right depends
01:19:29 on the situation right talid the talid
01:19:32 is not only responsible for his own sins
01:19:34 he’s also responsible for the sins of
01:19:35 his tal yes and that’s what’s going on
01:19:39 here uh if you’re claiming you’re a
01:19:41 teacher and you’re not and you just say
01:19:45 things to make people feel warm and
01:19:47 fuzzy so that way they’ll come to you
01:19:48 and give you money guess what according
01:19:52 to that
01:19:53 you have their sins upon you and I can
01:19:56 show that in other places too but we’ll
01:19:58 yeah no no no yeah no I agree I come up
01:20:01 into the temple this day that I might
01:20:04 declare unto you the word of
01:20:06 God oh and so that is part of the way
01:20:10 that he’s cleansing his garments is
01:20:12 teaching what Yeshua actually we is yep
01:20:19 Tora yes yeah
01:20:24 and is eternal T is eternal law of Moses
01:20:27 is not that’s another subject but um
01:20:30 yeah yeah no it’s it’s it’s a it’s it’s
01:20:32 a subject that a lot of people get stuck
01:20:34 on uh yes it is a very sticky Point um
01:20:39 it’s the primary source of why people
01:20:41 call us doctrinal innovators you know
01:20:44 what you know what maybe we could uh
01:20:46 maybe we could uh spend some time on
01:20:48 that
01:20:50 next sure I’m happy to next I have lots
01:20:54 of notes um and I can share some new
01:20:57 ones that I haven’t shared yet even the
01:21:00 demarcation have a recording about some
01:21:03 of the issue um and I’ll put it in the
01:21:07 notes for those who want to watch it but
01:21:10 there’s more and at the same time we
01:21:14 didn’t go too deep because Ben didn’t
01:21:16 have tons of time and it was I think
01:21:18 that was our first meeting but anyways
01:21:20 yeah yeah happy to get into what other
01:21:24 depth that you want to so right well I
01:21:27 would like to get I would like to get
01:21:28 into that because I would like to be
01:21:31 able to speak more intelligently on on
01:21:34 that when people bring that
01:21:37 up uh you know quick summary for
01:21:42 you Torah is the ancient and eternal
01:21:46 Commandments that are it’s the oh let me
01:21:49 change my screen judgments and statutes
01:21:52 yes it’s the judgment and
01:21:54 statutes uh those are very key words um
01:21:57 which uh makes things clear as you look
01:21:59 in other places the law of Moses is the
01:22:02 performances and ordinances which is
01:22:05 points to primarily the two daily
01:22:09 Lambs given as a punishment as Paul
01:22:13 States it’s those performances and
01:22:16 ordinances which point to the sacrifice
01:22:19 of Yeshua hamashiach yes uh which Elma
01:22:23 34 brings out among others but Elma 34
01:22:26 is my favorite for
01:22:28 that that’s a but that’s a quick that’s
01:22:30 the quick rule of thumb guide um yeah
01:22:33 and then here’s Paul in Galatians 3
01:22:36 bringing out how it was a
01:22:38 punishment y so um because a lot of
01:22:44 people don’t know that the children of
01:22:47 Israel and the mixed
01:22:49 multitude got the Ten Commandments
01:22:52 before Moses mooses went up onto Mount
01:22:54 Si yes right it was verbal then and and
01:22:57 then Moses went up to get it written
01:23:00 which is an important thing um but then
01:23:03 when Moses came down they were breaking
01:23:06 what they already covenanted to keep so
01:23:09 uh mosiah 13 brings out they got it to
01:23:12 keep them in remembrance uh of how to
01:23:16 resolve their sins um and I think that’s
01:23:19 here but anyways I have a lot of
01:23:23 oh that’s so I probably don’t have the
01:23:26 13 anyways there there’s a lot of
01:23:29 scriptures on this um it is a confusing
01:23:33 uh subject for a lot of people and I can
01:23:35 understand why because of a lot of
01:23:37 traditions that are well and because in
01:23:40 our scriptures law of Moses and Torah
01:23:44 are sometimes used
01:23:47 interchangeably yeah and
01:23:50 um and so sometimes you do need context
01:23:54 right um now the of I’ve looked at it in
01:23:57 the
01:23:58 Hebrew um the of is not actually in
01:24:02 Hebrew that is
01:24:04 English additive right additive to try
01:24:07 to make it make sense I think a better
01:24:09 word is through than um but anyways
01:24:14 that’s a whole another
01:24:16 interesting all right well it’s about
01:24:20 one it’s almost one o’clock here and
01:24:22 okay
01:24:23 tired probably gonna wait it stop real
01:24:28 quick
01:24:29 sorry it stop real quick yeah yeah
01:24:33 I and as Jesus pass uh we’re gonna read
01:24:38 the story the
01:24:40 account uh of Jesus healing the blind
01:24:44 man um with uh making
01:24:51 mud uh
01:24:53 so here we go in chapter nine verse one
01:24:57 and as Jesus passed by he saw a man
01:25:00 which was blind from his birth and his
01:25:03 disciples asked him saying
01:25:05 master who did Sin this man or his
01:25:09 parents that he was born
01:25:12 blind now that’s an interesting question
01:25:14 that they’re posing there because your
01:25:19 eyes have to do with your desires
01:25:24 and so if there was a very it it’s very
01:25:28 ingrained in Hebrew belief that if you
01:25:30 were born
01:25:32 blind you are blind you had to have
01:25:36 sinned there there had to be a sin uh it
01:25:40 was his or his parents as what the
01:25:43 apostles are bringing out here right and
01:25:45 then also later in the um when the
01:25:50 healed man was taken to the Pharisees es
01:25:53 uh they brought up that same
01:25:56 idea later uh during that um court case
01:26:01 right correct so moving on to verse
01:26:06 three Jesus answered neither has hath
01:26:09 this man sinned nor his parents but that
01:26:12 the works of God should be made manifest
01:26:14 in him so go ahead uh so
01:26:21 with
01:26:25 ah the Lord is teaching something very
01:26:29 very
01:26:30 important
01:26:33 about the about kind of combating this
01:26:39 idea of somebody has had to have
01:26:44 sinned well we all sin we’re all human
01:26:47 we we are all natural men right but he’s
01:26:52 specifically addressing that no one’s
01:26:55 sin caused him to be blind right right I
01:26:59 I was getting to that sorry um uh so
01:27:03 so we’re
01:27:06 all but my point is is that we’re all
01:27:10 Sinners we are all blind to the works of
01:27:16 God due to our natural man now we all
01:27:20 have the Light of Christ I I totally get
01:27:22 that but the natural man can make us
01:27:27 blind I’m working off of a another level
01:27:30 of thought here right right uh basically
01:27:34 pointing out the spiritual aspect of
01:27:37 this as well as trying to tie it back
01:27:40 into the physical right right so in
01:27:42 support of that you have um
01:27:47 Samson yes uh in in the tanak uh it does
01:27:52 specifically State he became blind
01:27:54 because of his sins yes might I add
01:27:58 something else here yeah when he States
01:28:03 but that the works of God may be shown
01:28:06 forth in him or manifest manifest in him
01:28:10 same deal right um he’s
01:28:16 actually he’s actually telling
01:28:20 you about the means by which he’s going
01:28:23 to heal him
01:28:25 yeah and he’s also telling
01:28:28 you that uh the means by which he’s
01:28:32 going to heal him will show The Works of
01:28:37 God because the works of God aren’t just
01:28:39 about the healing
01:28:42 right the works of God are about the The
01:28:45 Works of God are about the repentance
01:28:47 and the change and the becoming
01:28:51 and
01:28:52 our eyes being opened as right um which
01:28:56 goes along with the next verse well well
01:28:59 and also I was thinking I think it’s
01:29:02 Abraham oh yeah it bring to pass the
01:29:04 immortality and eternal life etal life
01:29:06 of Moses 139 oh okay sorry um sorry I
01:29:12 don’t remember the place um no you’re
01:29:14 fine you’re fine that is embedded that
01:29:19 uh our repentance right in fact that
01:29:21 goes along with our purpose of life
01:29:23 which there’s tons of verses about we
01:29:27 are to repent and help other people to
01:29:29 do the same right the works of but that
01:29:32 the but that the works of God should be
01:29:35 made manifest notice he doesn’t say
01:29:39 through him there’s that common
01:29:42 misconception uh in the church that
01:29:45 we’re all just glass mirrors and we’re
01:29:48 you know supposed to be transporting the
01:29:50 light of God to all man
01:29:52 uh through ourselves through ourselves
01:29:55 you know people can just look into us
01:29:57 and or you know basically it’s you know
01:30:02 here we go light light people
01:30:05 light how they describe it very much
01:30:08 like that you know what I me sure sure
01:30:10 and that’s contrary to how it stated in
01:30:14 the sermon on Torah or more known Sermon
01:30:16 on the Mount right that Yeshua is the
01:30:20 light that we are to shine it’s him in
01:30:24 his ways and light is a idiom for Torah
01:30:30 right well interesting in the that in
01:30:34 the Hebrew
01:30:35 Matthew it doesn’t say ye are the light
01:30:40 it says ye are the
01:30:42 instruction ah okay and uh I’m fine I’m
01:30:46 happy with both because I know what
01:30:48 light is um yeah and go really saying
01:30:52 anything different it’s just saying it a
01:30:54 different way yeah yeah because another
01:30:57 word for Torah and a lot of um
01:31:03 messianics or Jews like to translate
01:31:06 Torah as instructions yeah so it it
01:31:11 points to the same
01:31:12 thing what one thing I do want to say
01:31:14 just real quick that’s a little
01:31:16 Sidetrack but along with you know who
01:31:19 sinned um so Nephi brings out in the
01:31:23 Book of Mormon that how our sins will
01:31:26 affect other people yes yeah and that
01:31:32 might had some part in it just I don’t
01:31:36 know in this case but another case as it
01:31:38 does um yeah but he Yeshua did
01:31:43 specifically State this didn’t happen
01:31:46 because his parents nor him sinned
01:31:50 right
01:31:52 I must work the works of him that sent
01:31:56 me while I am with
01:31:59 you the time cometh when I shall have
01:32:03 finished my work then I go unto the
01:32:07 father so we see
01:32:11 that talking about the question of the
01:32:15 disciples he’s answering the question of
01:32:16 the disciples who has
01:32:19 sinned neither this man nor his parents
01:32:27 because I need I must
01:32:31 do the works of him I must work the
01:32:35 works of him that sent me I must
01:32:39 do I must it’s it’s literally this I
01:32:44 shall finish my work that’s pointing to
01:32:46 the right there yeah and that’s also he
01:32:50 when Yeshua states on the cross I
01:32:52 finished my work he’s saying I finished
01:32:55 the atonement yes especially when you
01:32:58 take in account
01:33:01 um 2 Nephi 29 it states that yeshua’s
01:33:05 work is never finished and so it’s
01:33:07 talking about something specific in his
01:33:10 mortal Ministry which the main thing was
01:33:13 his
01:33:14 atonement right but the beautiful thing
01:33:18 is is we’re about to see the beautiful
01:33:23 imagery of his
01:33:26 atonement in the
01:33:29 cleansing correct
01:33:32 of in the in the cleansing and healing
01:33:35 so we’ll continue reading right and I
01:33:37 think also the reason he’s bringing up
01:33:39 is because he’s saying this is why it’s
01:33:42 possible Right what I’m about to do this
01:33:44 is why it’s possible right yes exactly
01:33:48 as long as I am in the world I am the
01:33:50 light of of the
01:33:53 world sees the perfect
01:33:56 personification of Ora as long as I am
01:34:01 in the world I am Torah yes all right I
01:34:05 I this is how it’s I am giving you a
01:34:08 perfect example of how to keep Torah
01:34:11 right right when he had thus spoken he
01:34:13 spat on the ground and made clay of the
01:34:16 spittle and he Anointed The Eyes of the
01:34:19 blind man with the clay now it’s
01:34:22 interesting he goes to the ground the
01:34:26 ground in Hebrew thought or Earth or
01:34:31 dirt is the domain of
01:34:36 sin it is the domain of the devil it is
01:34:39 sin right right and that’s why the
01:34:43 serpent AKA an idium for enemy yes uh is
01:34:49 devouring things or eats of the Dust
01:34:52 because that’s um where he has his
01:34:55 domain over and can get people is when
01:34:57 they’re sinning the dust his domain
01:35:00 yep and he Anno so he now he he spat on
01:35:06 the ground he’s made clay he’s made
01:35:12 that
01:35:14 he’s he’s made that which he
01:35:17 will um
01:35:20 heal from the domain of the Earth but
01:35:23 it’s not just straight
01:35:25 dirt it
01:35:28 is the water from his it is the water
01:35:31 from his mouth he is the Living
01:35:35 Water right right water has to do with
01:35:38 Revelation that’s his words which is
01:35:41 actually came out of his mouth
01:35:43 specifically yes right and he and he
01:35:47 made the clay he made the clay from the
01:35:50 living water which came from his mouth
01:35:54 his his uh he’s giving
01:35:59 Revelation the imagery is he is showing
01:36:03 this
01:36:04 man how to be free from the domain of
01:36:11 Satan correct and he said and said unto
01:36:15 him go wash in the pool of Shalom which
01:36:20 is by interpretation
01:36:24 sent and he went his way therefore and
01:36:28 washed and came
01:36:31 seeing the neighbors therefore and they
01:36:34 which I I think we got to talk about
01:36:35 that a little bit Yeah here he went
01:36:39 and immersed himself in yahweh’s
01:36:43 Revelations the waters yeah and it
01:36:46 washed away the sin such that he could
01:36:50 see now now I think it’s also
01:36:52 interesting he went under the
01:36:57 water and the sin died and the man of
01:37:00 sin
01:37:01 died and he came
01:37:04 up a new man who could right right this
01:37:07 uh image of washing can go to baptism as
01:37:11 been as bringing out right yeah um go
01:37:14 wash the pool of
01:37:16 Shalom and he became a new
01:37:20 man
01:37:22 which is by
01:37:23 interpretation
01:37:26 sent go
01:37:29 wash in the pool that I have sent you
01:37:33 right and he went his way therefore and
01:37:37 washed and came seeing so his sins were
01:37:42 cleansed from him which made it possible
01:37:45 for him to see see just as um Samson
01:37:51 it states in the Old Testament that his
01:37:54 sins took away his
01:37:57 sight
01:38:00 yes and his so oh this is such a
01:38:05 beautiful uh it’s beautiful imagery here
01:38:09 that we see but it’s not just imagery
01:38:12 he’s what Christ is doing is he’s
01:38:16 using the physical to
01:38:20 highlight to highlight the
01:38:23 imagery right to make it understandable
01:38:25 for the people that are watching him
01:38:29 perform the
01:38:33 miracle we
01:38:36 who before now had no
01:38:41 idea we just thought oh he just uh
01:38:45 picked up a bunch of mud rubbed it on
01:38:47 his eyes and said go
01:38:50 off
01:38:51 you’ll see
01:38:53 again anyway you
01:38:56 know to us before we were given the key
01:39:01 by Yahweh to understand
01:39:06 this and I say we Stephen yes you may
01:39:10 have been the mouthpiece for it well
01:39:13 that’s but Yahweh sent the key sure sure
01:39:17 sent the key so that’s why I say
01:39:21 You by
01:39:24 extension of you were an extension of
01:39:28 Yahweh uh sure sure uh I did help you
01:39:31 see it but you you but anyways but now
01:39:34 you’re helping others see it exactly and
01:39:38 yeah you’re right but the point is is
01:39:46 that what Yeshua did for thew Jewish
01:39:53 people every single instance he is
01:39:57 teaching them I am your Messiah I am
01:40:02 your
01:40:06 Messiah and they still did not use their
01:40:13 eyes to see except for those who had the
01:40:20 works of God
01:40:21 God manifest in them like this blind
01:40:27 man right he he believed yes so
01:40:32 although he had some
01:40:35 issues when he heard the
01:40:38 word and the
01:40:40 Commandment he did it yes he didn’t give
01:40:43 excuses say it’s not reent anymore
01:40:46 that’s silly and stupid and how in the
01:40:49 world is that going to work
01:40:53 he went
01:40:57 believing and it changed him it did
01:41:00 physically and then Also
01:41:03 spiritually um so I think Matt’s done so
01:41:08 if he is I want well I a funny thought
01:41:11 came to my mind okay it’s this the man
01:41:14 has been blind all of his life right and
01:41:18 this is just another this is kind of a
01:41:20 funny little
01:41:21 Gentile way of thinking about it right
01:41:24 the man’s been blind all of his life
01:41:27 right and so Jesus anoints his eyes with
01:41:31 mud and tells him to go wash in the pool
01:41:33 of
01:41:35 salom the Gentile would sit there and
01:41:38 say if he’s been spent all of his life
01:41:42 blind what else do I have to
01:41:47 lose
01:41:49 oh sure what why not right why
01:41:54 not well yeah I can see where they’re
01:41:58 coming up from them but if he didn’t do
01:42:00 it believing it would not have worked um
01:42:04 no it wouldn’t have but but my point and
01:42:08 my point is to highlight that fact sure
01:42:11 is to make sure
01:42:13 that the people guess the main part of
01:42:16 our audience is not Jewish they don’t
01:42:19 understand this so I’m highlighting the
01:42:21 point give me one sec I wasn’t give me
01:42:25 one second I was just trying to
01:42:26 highlight this point that he didn’t have
01:42:32 that mentality of well why not sure sure
01:42:36 right okay now you were going to say yes
01:42:40 I was um the
01:42:45 uh
01:42:48 Yeshua je Yeshua they have
01:42:52 covenanted with one PE with one with one
01:42:56 man through his seed
01:43:00 Abraham through his seed all the
01:43:03 kindreds of the Earth would be
01:43:06 blessed G while we
01:43:09 maintain and keep our Gentile way of
01:43:13 thinking our Gentile way of
01:43:17 doing we have no
01:43:21 Covenant with yeh that’s true we must
01:43:24 cross over we must think like this
01:43:29 man we must go
01:43:32 believing when Yeshua says
01:43:35 something when the when when it is
01:43:37 revealed in his word that something is
01:43:40 said we must do
01:43:44 it or we will be forever blind and like
01:43:48 the Gentiles have no promise no
01:43:54 Covenant yep yeah yep um as in Torah and
01:44:01 uh A7 reemphasizes from
01:44:05 Torah um it does matter the reasoning
01:44:08 why we do
01:44:10 things so the idea that a lot of people
01:44:13 push that it doesn’t matter why you do
01:44:16 it just do it is completely contrary to
01:44:20
01:44:21 right the reason you do it matters very
01:44:24 much absolutely I think we should
01:44:27 continue reading just a little bit well
01:44:30 um sure we can did you want to say
01:44:31 something else uh well mainly because
01:44:35 I’m seeing some important things in the
01:44:38 let’s continue then the neighbors
01:44:41 therefore and they which before had seen
01:44:44 him that he was blind said it’s not this
01:44:48 he that sat and begged
01:44:51 some said this is he others said he is
01:44:54 like him but he but he said I am he
01:44:59 therefore said they unto him how are
01:45:02 thine eyes opened and he answered and
01:45:05 said a man that is called Yeshua made
01:45:08 clay and anointed mine eyes and said
01:45:11 unto me go to the pool of Shalom and
01:45:14 wash and I went and washed and I
01:45:17 received sight and they said unto him
01:45:21 where is he and he said I know
01:45:25 not and they brought him who had uh been
01:45:30 blind to the
01:45:31 Pharisees and it was the Sabbath day
01:45:33 when Jesus made the clay and opened his
01:45:35 eyes so this actually kind of links into
01:45:39 a uh another
01:45:43 issue uh but there is
01:45:47 actual
01:45:49 import
01:45:52 to the fact that he was
01:45:55 blind you know that
01:45:57 that that
01:46:00 song Amazing
01:46:03 Grace is actually pretty powerful it’s
01:46:07 not completely 100%
01:46:12 correct but there
01:46:15 is there is power
01:46:19 to
01:46:21 um there is a there is power to the line
01:46:24 where uh it’s
01:46:28 stated I once was blind but now I see
01:46:31 it’s the final Stan It’s the final part
01:46:33 of the first
01:46:36 stanza um and
01:46:40 it’s but it’s once again highlighting
01:46:44 the
01:46:45 same idea uh it’s highlighting a similar
01:46:49 idea to this that is that
01:46:54 Yeshua has the
01:46:58 power to manifest his Works manifest his
01:47:03 miracles even for those who may whom it
01:47:07 may seem have been touched by sin and
01:47:11 are you know it may seem like they have
01:47:15 been touched by sin and are Beyond
01:47:18 Redemption and that he has power over
01:47:21 the domain of the earth to pull those
01:47:25 out of that out of the domain of sin so
01:47:30 um maybe uh this might be an okay time
01:47:33 to say this so the Pharisees and the
01:47:36 Sadducees were very concerned about this
01:47:40 event okay absolutely uh and the reason
01:47:44 is because they had Traditions which I
01:47:47 do think this one is a correct tradition
01:47:50 um because it is kind of brought out
01:47:52 here that the Messiah would heal someone
01:47:57 who was born
01:47:59 blind and here they
01:48:02 are trying to make it look like that’s
01:48:05 not what happened right because they’re
01:48:08 trying
01:48:10 to he keepeth not the Sabbath because he
01:48:12 worked right right well and this goes
01:48:15 off of another instance of their false
01:48:18 Traditions making Torah noan void that
01:48:21 they have yeah because Yeshua never
01:48:25 sinned uh he did go against the false
01:48:29 traditions of men and I will add at
01:48:33 times blatantly to throw it into their
01:48:36 face yeah he he was not always easy
01:48:40 peasy about it he it he did things to
01:48:43 put in their face actually um but a big
01:48:48 part of why they were so scared to this
01:48:50 and trying to put it down so much was
01:48:54 their Traditions that the Messiah would
01:48:58 heal someone who’s born blind and later
01:49:02 in the account I don’t remember the
01:49:04 verse but the man that is healed does
01:49:07 specifically bring out how no one else
01:49:10 has ever done that as in to somewhat to
01:49:14 give Credence to the the idea that it’s
01:49:17 only the Messiah who could he someone
01:49:20 that’s blind that was born blind MH yeah
01:49:25 uh there’s
01:49:28 actually um people who have become and
01:49:32 people have become blind as a result of
01:49:34 trauma can be that can it can be
01:49:38 reversed but um yeah with modern
01:49:42 medicine there some there are some cases
01:49:44 where fixes it and and not just modern
01:49:48 medicine also modern alt medicine
01:49:50 chiropractors have healed blind people
01:49:53 heal death
01:49:54 people
01:49:56 okay
01:49:57 um so did you want to read a little more
01:50:00 Matt or should I bring up another
01:50:01 thought go ahead and bring up that
01:50:03 thought okay because basically you’ve
01:50:06 basically covered the rest
01:50:09 of you’ve basically covered the rest of
01:50:11 the
01:50:12 experience uh sure um I mean highlights
01:50:16 of it anyways yeah right right um but
01:50:20 but um so there’s another thing that I
01:50:22 think is important to bring
01:50:25 out so in the scriptures there’s a thing
01:50:28 called
01:50:29 justification and
01:50:31 sanctification uh another way of saying
01:50:34 that is baptism of the fire and then
01:50:38 baptism of the holy spirit so uh the
01:50:42 baptism of Fire or
01:50:45 the uh or justification is when yeshua’s
01:50:50 has found you with a broken heart and
01:50:52 contrite spirit and he then thus makes
01:50:55 it
01:50:57 easier
01:50:58 to keep his ways because although before
01:51:02 you get baptized by water you promise to
01:51:07 do that it will take some time for you
01:51:10 to completely honor that
01:51:16 promise because we have to unlearn
01:51:19 things so that we can learn the truth
01:51:21 but um and then
01:51:24 later with your own works you by keeping
01:51:29 Torah uh uh you doing it yourself you
01:51:33 then become Sanctified through the grace
01:51:36 of the Messiah and why do you become
01:51:38 Sanctified through the grace of the
01:51:40 Messiah by keeping
01:51:42 Torah because you have proven that you
01:51:45 love him
01:51:48 yes love me keep my Commandments that is
01:51:52 the why that’s the only acceptable
01:51:58 why is because you love
01:52:00 him
01:52:02 yeah uh and others but primarily him um
01:52:07 so what I see here though is that
01:52:11 Yeshua um started the process where that
01:52:17 um spit is weakening the dust okay it’s
01:52:23 not hard and crust like a hard heart it
01:52:27 is now
01:52:28 softening it also has to do with his
01:52:31 word now is starting to enter into you
01:52:35 okay and
01:52:37 then this blind
01:52:40 man kept the Commandment that he was
01:52:43 told to go do which is representative of
01:52:46 keeping the
01:52:48 Commandments and then and he could fully
01:52:52 see because he got
01:52:56 Sanctified his desires became one and
01:52:59 the eyes equaling desire his desires
01:53:03 became one with Yeshua correct and then
01:53:07 he could fully see because of that and
01:53:12 so here’s an example
01:53:15 of justification or baptism of fire and
01:53:19 sanctification or baptism of the Holy
01:53:22 Spirit where
01:53:24 Yeshua did the baptism of fire the blind
01:53:30 man did works such that he could be
01:53:34 Sanctified through the
01:53:36 Messiah right and that which brings us
01:53:40 back to which brings me which always
01:53:42 brings back to my mind my favorite verse
01:53:46 I think you know what it is yeah 88 um
01:53:49 show it somewhere
01:53:51 else yeah so let me go get
01:54:02 it because it tells us how it is that we
01:54:06 are Sanctified there you
01:54:09 go okay sorry verse 34 again verily I
01:54:13 say unto you that which is governed by
01:54:17 law by Torah is also preserved
01:54:22 justified by by law or Torah
01:54:26 perfected and Sanctified by the
01:54:32 same which is law or Torah and you the
01:54:36 wonderful thing about this verse is that
01:54:38 it combines all those verses which say
01:54:43 that Yeshua
01:54:45 sanctifies with the
01:54:48 Commandment to sanctify
01:54:52 yourselves because Yeshua is the way
01:54:55 Yeshua is the
01:54:57 law Yeshua is
01:55:01 Torah yeah he is the living Torah he is
01:55:05 the living Torah yes and
01:55:10 so I love that verse it it just
01:55:14 encapsulates
01:55:16 everything that is good
01:55:20 it it encapsulates the entire process
01:55:23 which is highlighted beautifully in the
01:55:25 healing of the blind
01:55:29 man that which
01:55:39 breakthe perfected even Sanctified so I
01:55:44 I know we talked about some of this
01:55:46 earlier today but here is a verse in the
01:55:50 DNC that is
01:55:53 equating perfect Perfection with
01:55:57 sanctification just like there are
01:55:59 verses in the Doctrine and Covenants
01:56:01 which
01:56:03 equate the Holy Ghost with Torah yes and
01:56:10 it’s throughout the scriptures I do
01:56:13 understand it goes against the grain of
01:56:16 what almost everybody says but it is
01:56:20 there y that which breakthe and abideth
01:56:25 not by law but seeketh to become a law
01:56:28 unto itself that which thinks like a
01:56:30 freaking
01:56:34 Gentile and acts like a freaking Gentile
01:56:38 and willth to abide in sin and
01:56:40 altogether abideth in sin cannot be
01:56:43 Sanctified by law neither by Mercy
01:56:46 Justice nor judgment therefore they must
01:56:49 remain filthy
01:56:52 still they are outside of the
01:56:54 Covenant and
01:56:58 uncovered the mud
01:57:03 remains
01:57:12 yep um an interesting little tidbit to
01:57:15 go along with this DN c76 about the glor
01:57:19 stories
01:57:21 of uh the yeshua’s Kingdom
01:57:24 right uh is the those who
01:57:29 receive Celestial Glory are
01:57:32 Sanctified now going back to this when
01:57:37 he went and baptized right he he washed
01:57:43 baptized um and then got
01:57:47 Sanctified it is only
01:57:50 those who receive the celestial glory
01:57:52 and are Sanctified that are required to
01:57:55 be baptism by water to be in the
01:57:58 kingdom turral and testeral people don’t
01:58:04 need to be baptized by
01:58:06 water
01:58:07 yep according to DNC 76 which I do
01:58:11 believe all they have all you have to do
01:58:13 to be telestial is acknowledge your lord
01:58:16 and
01:58:17 savior yep
01:58:21 Y and you can and you can be a and you
01:58:25 can be a liar in the Celestial
01:58:29 Kingdom
01:58:31 wellory i i
01:58:33 i they could have been a liar
01:58:36 immortality right um that’s a little
01:58:39 harsh sorry uh now I don’t think
01:58:43 there’ll be Liars up there um so it’s
01:58:46 kind of a technicality which I think is
01:58:48 along the line what you actually meant
01:58:50 but anyway
01:58:53 yeah yeah that’s yeah I I acknowledge
01:58:57 that I was a little a little
01:58:59 overreaching a little harsh a little uh
01:59:01 probably a little um hyperbolic in my
01:59:05 use of language uh but yeah the point
01:59:13 is to acknowledge your lord and
01:59:17 savior to acknowledge Yeshua as your
01:59:20 lord and savior and not to keep his
01:59:26 laws is at the very
01:59:34 least rude and
01:59:37 presumptuous and you are
01:59:41 um you are acting like you are entitled
01:59:44 to his
01:59:46 grace and and so since binb bringing
01:59:49 this up uh Grace I I will add Mercy goes
01:59:54 with
01:59:56 justification Grace goes with
01:59:58 sanctification so yeah you’re acting
02:00:01 like you’re acting like you’re entitled
02:00:03 to his grace but what
02:00:05 you’re all that your all that your lips
02:00:08 all that your lip submission will earn
02:00:10 you
02:00:12 is a degree of
02:00:15 Mercy right if it’s sincere which he
02:00:18 will know
02:00:20 himself um
02:00:23 yeah while Mercy is the beginning of
02:00:26 Grace it is not the abundance of Grace
02:00:30 that’s correct it is it’s just like the
02:00:35 first step AKA justification right
02:00:43 yeah uh so I I think unless you have
02:00:45 something else to say that’s probably a
02:00:47 good time to no I’m I’m actually very
02:00:50 satisfied
02:00:52 uh I I I myself have been
02:00:57 fed I hope that I brought something to
02:00:59 feed other people and I’m very tired
02:01:03 actually okay so I’m going to
02:01:07 pause
