David Taylor – Chief Midegah

SeekingYHWH Posts:

  • Midegah – contacted by a 70: Midegah has claimed he does not remove negative comments from his videos. But that is a lie. The following comment I made was deleted twice from his “contacted by a 70 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints … I am doing nothing wrong” YouTube video. I did no personal attacks, I focused on the issues and doctrines. I can see how he and others could construe calling him a liar a personal attack. I do not believe it to be the case, as I see it as a proven fact.

  • Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde: Sherry Cardinal Talks Chief Midegah 2: In this second installment of Dr. Blythe’s Loss Library on Sherry Cardinal, the episode continues Sherry’s relationship with David Taylor, also known as Chief Miga, and her growing doubts about his behavior and claims. Sherry describes a contrast between Taylor’s public persona as a “kind warrior” and what she experienced privately as anger, deception, and patterns involving multiple women. She recounts a turning point during a trip to the Yucatán with Taylor and his followers (“the Zion ears”), where she learned he had married without telling her, which she viewed as a breach of the mother/son-style relationship and “chief grandmother” protocol. Sherry also describes feeling disoriented by a ceremonial procession at a Church of Jesus Christ (Bickerton) conference and says Taylor pressured her to be baptized to improve his “numbers” while she was trying to attend her sister’s funeral. She alleges Taylor used her credit cards for travel and other expenses, ran up significant charges, stopped repayment after several months, and later threatened her with legal action while offering a partial settlement tied to a non-disclosure agreement. The episode connects these disputes to the broader question of the Sacred Records app and the alleged Birchbark Scrolls, with Sherry expressing doubts about the scrolls’ age and authenticity and noting she only saw photos. The host states he contacted Wendy Phillips at the Eighth Fire Lodge, which allegedly houses the scrolls, but received no answers. The episode closes with a statement from David Taylor disputing Sherry’s account, attributing the fallout to her disapproval of his marriage, asserting reimbursements were overstated, and claiming independent and church-related AI analysis found no artificial intelligence involvement in the sacred records materials.

In a library conversation, Chris interviews Dr. Kyle Beshear, a pastor from Mobile, Alabama and author of the forthcoming book “40 Questions about Mormonism,” about an essay he wrote analyzing the “Sacred Records” app, which offers allegedly ancient “records” delivered to David Miga and published behind a $10/month paywall. Beshear explains why the language in texts like “The Sermon of Yahuah” and the “Records of Merunhi” feels modern, echoing the Sermon on the Mount and 3 Nephi while using romanticized “noble savage” imagery, and he reports that six AI text detectors rated the Sermon as highly likely AI-generated. They discuss claims that an employee used AI to revise texts to sound more like the Book of Mormon, narrative issues and anachronisms (including “punctuation” and a candle), parallels with James Strang’s 1845 Voree plates, and a related print-on-demand “Book of Yashua” with AI-like art and a 12-hour revelation story.

Mormon Book Reviews

  • Chief Midegah William Bickerton & The Church of Jesus Christ w/ Dr. Daniel Stone: In this conversation, Dr. Daniel Stone sits down with Steven Pynakker to talk through the life and legacy of William Bickerton, along with reactions to a recent video from Chief Midegah about Bickerton. They get into some bigger ideas too, like what radical prophethood really looks like, how religions actually take shape, and the role millennial beliefs play in all of it. It’s a thoughtful back and forth on how figures like Bickerton, Chief Midegah, and other Latter Day Saint prophets don’t just teach ideas, but actively spark and shape entire religious movements. The works of Christopher Blyth, Thomas Murphy, and Josh Gehly also inform the conversation as well.
  • Chief Midegah Threatens to Sue Dr. Blythe: Christopher Blythe, host of Dr. Blythe’s Lost Library, talks with Steven Pynakker about his new series and the claims made by Chief Midegah and the impact that it has made in the Mormon Podcast community and the Restoration as a whole. He also addresses the lawsuit that Midegah has threatened against Dr. Blythe.
