Summary:

It is important to know how church government is supposed to be run. Looking at the church trail of Joseph Smith as proof that the church high counsel is not quorum of the apostles as stated in D&C (LDS 107) (RLD 104) (1835 3) (1844 3). Current restoration churches are not governing themselves by the revelations of Yah. The traveling twelve apostles are to not to run the church but to build it aka do missionary work. The Law of Moses is not Torah. Early LDS apostles gave into their male parts. Once the apostles organize a new branch they have no more authority in that area. When a member of the church presidency transgresses they are to be judged by the high counsel of the church not the quorum of the traveling twelve apostles. Joseph Smith was accused of being a false prophet and mismanaging money, this was found to be not true during initial investigations. Sylvester continued to slander Joseph after he was told to stop and apologize and thus a church court was held on him when he did not do so. The reason for the equal authority is because the apostles do for the mission field what the church high counsel does for the church. Two powers of authority, one for the missionary field and another for the church. Both powers are under the presidency of the church. The court that investigated Joseph Smith was not the traveling quorum of the twelve apostles, showing the high counsel of the church is not the quorum of the twelve. John used to be a follower of Phil Davis and as John studied more, found out Phil didn’t know what he was talking about. Likened means compared. Joseph Smith is not the Mighty and Strong One. Technical details do matter. Anything given to YHWH is consecrated, which includes tithing. YHWH in the D&C told Zion’s camp to buy the land peacefully. The statement to Abraham about blessing and cursing those who did it to Abraham is a statement about being justified because when you are justified you are in YHWH’s kingdom and the leader takes cares of his subjects. There is a difference between laying down your life and dying. It’s harder to become like Yeshua than to die. Many who participated in Zion’s camp misunderstood and ignored D&C 103. Faith is trust in YHWH’s promises and being diligent to YHWH’s Torah. Early church leaders were not patient. YHWH can and has given revelation to wicked people, but it is not wise to look to the wicked for regular revelation from YHWH. If Zion’s camp would have done it how they were told, YHWH would have helped them getting the land back. Israel is determined by behavior not a blood line. Second Coming is the second exodus. Zion was to be purchased during Joseph Smith’s day because Joseph was compared to the Mighty and Strong One, who is the son of Joseph of Egypt, who will purchase the land with blood Joseph was to purchase with money. YHWH only leases land to mortals. YHWH will deed land to His meek / sanctified after they are resurrected. Joseph Smith did things close to what the Mighty and Strong One will do. YHWH will turn our weaknesses into strength if we work with Him.

00:00:02 Hello brothers and sisters. Another
00:00:04 video to you. Today we are going to be
00:00:07 going over uh church councils, a little
00:00:10 bit of how a little bit of the
00:00:12 redemption of Zion. Uh but basically
00:00:17 we’re trying to tie all of these things
00:00:20 back into church governance and church
00:00:23 government.
00:00:24 Um because we feel that it’s important
00:00:27 that you understand how the church of
00:00:30 Messiah is supposed to run. Messiah
00:00:35 being church of Christ. Okay.
00:00:39 Um that is uh that is that is what I
00:00:43 mean when I say Messiah, a church of
00:00:45 Christ. Yeah. Which is the Hebrew word
00:00:49 Messiah is a more English variation of
00:00:52 it. Correct. Correct. I’m going to try
00:00:54 to say that one because I have a hard
00:00:56 time. I believe that Messiah has so
00:01:00 carries so much more meaning than simply
00:01:02 Christ because Christ is Greek for
00:01:05 anointed one, but Messiah literally
00:01:07 means anointed savior.
00:01:10 Yeah. And I I so uh John said the more
00:01:15 Hebrew way of saying it, I have a hard
00:01:18 enough time with English. I’m not going
00:01:20 to try to do one. So yeah, so but
00:01:26 anyway, so that’s what we’re going to be
00:01:29 going over today. What convinced what
00:01:32 kind of led us to this conclusion to go
00:01:35 over this recording is we were reading
00:01:38 in DNC section 42 where it talks about
00:01:42 disciplinary councils or who is supposed
00:01:45 to uh uh judge
00:01:50 on importance of
00:01:53 the five commandments according to love
00:01:56 your neighbor which is revealed in
00:01:59 section 42. 2. Um,
00:02:04 now,
00:02:06 uh, which is I should say restored in
00:02:09 section 42, not revealed, but restored
00:02:12 because it was already in the Bible. So,
00:02:15 maybe like maybe new, which means
00:02:18 renewed.
00:02:19 Yeah, exactly. So, here Yeah. So, are we
00:02:23 going to go through 36 through 38? I’m
00:02:25 working on Yeah. I’m not quite done yet.
00:02:28 Oh, okay. You’re good. So intro. Yeah.
00:02:31 Yeah, I’m still doing my intro. Sorry
00:02:32 guys, I’m jumping the gun again. It is
00:02:34 what it is. So the question was asked,
00:02:39 is there a difference? Because Joseph
00:02:42 Smith, of course, in history, we know
00:02:44 that Joseph Smith was taken before a
00:02:47 disciplinary council. Oh. So real quick,
00:02:50 um we because of some of the stuff in
00:02:52 DNC 42, we started going to DNC 107.
00:02:57 Yes. Um, and I then I asked this
00:03:01 question which I’ll now give back to
00:03:03 John since he’s doing the intro. Yeah.
00:03:07 So, we asked the qu uh Stephen asked the
00:03:10 question,
00:03:12 were the members of the council that
00:03:15 judged Joseph’s actions the same as the
00:03:18 members of the quorum of the 12? Now, I
00:03:20 I did postulate because of what is in
00:03:23 107 that they weren’t. Mhm. Uh so guess
00:03:28 what? So let me let me show you guys
00:03:30 something here. The council on that
00:03:32 trial
00:03:34 on August 11th, 1834, the council
00:03:37 formally convened for the first time to
00:03:39 consider charges made by Sylvester Smith
00:03:42 against Joseph Smith after the return of
00:03:44 Zion’s camp. Nul K. Whitney, the
00:03:46 presiding bishop, resided at the council
00:03:48 with John P. Green. So that’s
00:03:50 interesting. The presiding bishop be the
00:03:53 presiding bishop was the head of the
00:03:54 council. Yes. With John P. Green, John
00:03:58 Smith, Reynolds Cahoun, Isaac Hill,
00:04:02 Samuel H. Smith, Isaac Story, Amasa
00:04:05 Lyman, uh Peter Schz, Truman Wait,
00:04:09 Roswell Evans, Alfus Cutler, and Thomas
00:04:13 Berdick acting as 12 high priests.
00:04:18 clerk and Orson Hyde also participated
00:04:21 as clerks. So, they’re just recording
00:04:23 the minutes of this proceeding of this
00:04:28 uh um council. Now, I I I would just
00:04:32 quickly uh there were the they were the
00:04:34 high council of the church. Yes.
00:04:38 And Rigdon participated as a member of
00:04:40 the first presidency. The council
00:04:43 determined that Smith had acted in every
00:04:45 respect in an honorable and proper
00:04:46 manner with all monies and properties
00:04:49 entrusted to his charge. So, Sylvester
00:04:51 Smith brought up the charge that uh
00:04:55 Joseph Smith was a false prophet and
00:04:57 that he had mismanaged funds and
00:05:00 supplies during the uh Zion’s camp
00:05:04 expedition. Now, with that being said,
00:05:07 that’s just to give a smalish little
00:05:09 history. Now when we go back over here
00:05:12 to history to answer the question of who
00:05:15 is in the quorum of the 12 versus this
00:05:18 council you will see that
00:05:23 none of the names actually yeah it was
00:05:26 Orson Hyde and Oliver Calgary. None of
00:05:29 these names Orson Hyde was there as a
00:05:32 clerk. As a clerk but not as a high not
00:05:36 as a judge. Not none of the high
00:05:38 counciljudge
00:05:40 of the church, right? Yeah.
00:05:44 None of the 12 were in that high
00:05:46 council.
00:05:48 Um, which goes to show that
00:05:53 um I know this is a bold statement, but
00:05:58 we’ll get into it.
00:06:00 The church is not governed by the
00:06:03 revelations of Yahw.
00:06:06 Yes.
00:06:07 Amen. We can go we can go to doctrine
00:06:10 and covenants section U 112 I believe
00:06:16 to Thomas B. Marsh
00:06:21 where he tells
00:06:24 Okay. So 21 go one
00:06:31 go to your Okay. Oh yeah it’s easier to
00:06:34 go there. Yeah you’re right.
00:06:36 It’s easier to go here. All right. Now,
00:06:40 do you remember which verse? Okay. Go
00:06:42 down.
00:06:45 Uh, go down.
00:06:48 Okay.
00:06:50 Uh,
00:06:56 uh, okay.
00:07:00 I don’t remember the exact person. I
00:07:04 for a second then.
00:07:08 Okay. So, just to just to piggyback on
00:07:11 this idea that the church is no longer
00:07:13 led by the revelations of Yahw, we here
00:07:16 we have one of the revelations of Yahw
00:07:18 given in these latter days, which also
00:07:20 goes along with the subject how the 12
00:07:23 has nothing or the traveling 12 aka
00:07:26 apostles have nothing to do with the
00:07:27 church, which goes along with what we
00:07:30 were talking about. So, this is
00:07:31 supportive of that. Yes, this is
00:07:33 supportive of this idea uh and the the
00:07:38 and that the church and it shows that
00:07:41 the church is now no longer governed by
00:07:44 the revelations of Yah.
00:07:47 And again I say unto you that whosoever
00:07:49 ye shall send in my name by the voice of
00:07:51 your brethren, the 12 duly recommended
00:07:54 and authorized by you shall have power
00:07:57 to open the door of my kingdom unto any
00:07:59 nation whethersoever ye shall send them.
00:08:01 Oh, wait. The 12 are to be sent and
00:08:04 they’ll have power to open 12 apostles,
00:08:07 just to make sure it’s clear in
00:08:08 everybody’s head. Yeah. The 12 apostles
00:08:10 are to be sent and they will have power
00:08:12 to open the door of the kingdom in
00:08:14 whatever place that they go. Now, to
00:08:17 help support who it’s talking about,
00:08:20 this is a revelation to
00:08:22 Thomas S. Marsh. Thomas B. Marsh. Okay.
00:08:26 President of the Quorum of the 12. Yeah.
00:08:28 Or the traveling 12. Yeah.
00:08:31 Yeah.
00:08:33 The quorum of the the quorum of
00:08:34 apostles. Sure. Sir. Yeah.
00:08:39 That’s the definition of apostle. Thank
00:08:41 you. In as much as they
00:08:45 carry on. In as much as they shall
00:08:47 humble themselves before me and abide in
00:08:50 my word and hearken to the voice of my
00:08:52 spirit. Okay. There’s the condition.
00:08:55 There’s the big condition that they have
00:08:57 the power to do this so much as they
00:08:59 humble themselves before Yah and abide
00:09:03 in his word. That’s all of his word
00:09:07 including the Old Testament that most of
00:09:09 them had already nailed to a tree. Uh
00:09:13 right. And this gets into a side
00:09:14 subject. I’ll just say this. It was not
00:09:16 Torah that was nailed to the tree. It
00:09:18 was the law of Moses. And I’ll I’ll put
00:09:20 a link to that. But also this shows that
00:09:24 they weren’t being humble at that time.
00:09:28 Yeah. Mhm.
00:09:31 Verily, verily, I say unto you, darkness
00:09:34 coverth the earth, and gross darkness
00:09:37 the minds of the people, and all flesh
00:09:41 has become corrupt before my face. He
00:09:43 doesn’t say all flesh except the church
00:09:45 of Jesus, except for the church of the
00:09:47 Latter-day Saints. He says, “All flesh
00:09:50 has become corrupt before my face.
00:09:55 Behold, vengeance cometh speedily upon
00:09:57 the inhabitants of the earth, a day of
00:10:00 wrath, a day of burning, a day of
00:10:03 desolation, of weeping, of mourning, and
00:10:05 of lamentation, and and as a whirlwind.
00:10:08 It shall come upon all the face of the
00:10:10 earth, saith Yahw.
00:10:12 And upon my house shall it begin. And
00:10:16 from my house shall it go forth, saith
00:10:18 yo.
00:10:20 When he’s talk, he’s talking about my
00:10:22 house. He’s talking about is Yesel.
00:10:26 This is a reference. This is a kind of a
00:10:28 I see in this a kind of an oblique
00:10:30 reference to the roaring lions.
00:10:35 I I can see that. I can see that. Yeah.
00:10:39 From my house shall it go forth.
00:10:42 First among you, saith yo, who have
00:10:45 professed to know my name and have not
00:10:49 known me?
00:10:52 First among you. Wait, wait, wait a
00:10:54 minute. Who professed to know my
00:10:57 character but don’t know my character?
00:11:01 My character because you yourselves have
00:11:04 nailed the revelation of my character to
00:11:07 a tree.
00:11:09 Yeah. Incorrectly. Incorrectly.
00:11:12 And have blasphemed and have blasphemed
00:11:16 and have blasphemed against me in the
00:11:18 midst of my house, saith y. At this
00:11:22 point, they had already served missions
00:11:24 to the Lammonites.
00:11:27 They
00:11:29 served a mission.
00:11:32 Yeah. Valid point. Valid point. So, just
00:11:36 in case anybody’s only listening, I’m
00:11:39 doing air quotes here. They were told
00:11:41 to, but then they didn’t really and they
00:11:44 did it with such great
00:11:48 immensity,
00:11:51 but and the and the and the gospel that
00:11:54 they preached was the Christian gospel.
00:11:57 Um so but also I want to bring how they
00:11:59 blasphemed being against me meaning they
00:12:03 taught incorrect things. Okay. Uh uh
00:12:08 innocent manner. So right. And so but
00:12:11 blasphemy is more than just teaching
00:12:13 incorrect things. It’s teaching
00:12:14 incorrect things in the name. Yes.
00:12:20 Yes. Yeah. And then closing it in the
00:12:22 name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
00:12:28 Yeah, that that’s uh pretty bad. So, but
00:12:32 I will
00:12:34 that’s a common thing for for most
00:12:36 people. For most people, they don’t know
00:12:38 what they’re doing. And I’m sure that
00:12:40 there’s still a I’m sure that there’s
00:12:44 still a level of uh a level of
00:12:47 forgiveness for that. Uh yeah. So, um,
00:12:50 an a general member is way different
00:12:53 than someone who, you know, says that
00:12:56 they’re an apostle. But here’s the
00:12:58 thing. Okay. But in verse 26, he’s
00:13:01 speaking directly to Thomas B. Marsh and
00:13:04 the 12 and the 12. Yes. He’s saying
00:13:07 first among those, first among those
00:13:12 among you. Oh, okay. But it’s in
00:13:14 reference to 25. Never mind. Okay. Yes.
00:13:17 So also he’s given the condition he’s
00:13:20 given the condition that they can
00:13:21 repent, humble themselves, abide in the
00:13:24 word,
00:13:26 the whole word, and hearken to the voice
00:13:29 of the of Yah’s behavior or Torah.
00:13:36 Therefore, see to it that ye trouble not
00:13:39 yourselves concerning the affairs of my
00:13:41 church in this place, saith Yoha. Now,
00:13:44 this is a two-fold th this is a two-fold
00:13:47 warning here.
00:13:50 He’s warning them against their pride
00:13:52 and their he’s warning them against
00:13:55 their pride
00:13:57 and he’s also warning them that they
00:13:59 have concerns among themselves
00:14:01 and with their own duties that they need
00:14:05 to discharge with more faithfulness.
00:14:11 But purify your hearts before me.
00:14:16 Then go ye into all the world and preach
00:14:19 my gospel unto every creature who has
00:14:21 not received it. Okay? So nowhere in
00:14:24 here, nowhere in that after they’ve
00:14:26 purified their hearts, then they’re to
00:14:29 go into all the world. They’re not to
00:14:31 worry themselves about the affairs of
00:14:32 the church. They’re to go into all the
00:14:34 world. And he that believeth and is
00:14:36 baptized shall be saved. And he that
00:14:37 believeth not and is not baptized shall
00:14:39 be damned. Right. But they were only to
00:14:42 go to the world after they purified
00:14:44 their hearts. And Correct. Correct.
00:14:47 Sadly, history shows that’s not the
00:14:49 case. Yeah. History shows that um they
00:14:53 gave into their vanities rather than
00:14:55 checking them. Uh yes, they also all
00:14:59 gave into their male parts. And I’ll
00:15:01 just leave it at that. Yes.
00:15:05 Yes. Yes. So, to go along with this idea
00:15:09 that’s been introduced in 112 as a call
00:15:13 to repentance,
00:15:15 it’s already been outlined in 107 what
00:15:18 their duties are.
00:15:21 Uh but also but we’re going to focus
00:15:24 mostly on
00:15:26 uh we’re not going to focus on the
00:15:28 traveling 12. Not too much. Not too
00:15:30 much. We are only to state that their
00:15:33 power or that their uh office is
00:15:38 different than the standing high
00:15:41 councils at the stakes. Their office
00:15:43 their office in the church is to open
00:15:45 the door. Yes. As in to preach to
00:15:48 non-believers.
00:15:50 Correct. And to organize the branches.
00:15:57 Period. And once the branches are
00:15:59 organized, they’re done. Move on. Move
00:16:02 on. Yeah. Because they’re supposed to uh
00:16:07 extend the stakes,
00:16:10 not control the stakes. Yes. Again,
00:16:16 another sign that the current church
00:16:19 does not follow the revelations that
00:16:22 have been set forth by Yahwa as to the
00:16:25 governance of his church. Yes. So along
00:16:30 with um uh DNC2
00:16:36 verse number uh 27 how they’re not to
00:16:40 have any duties in the church. Um the
00:16:45 high council that is to judge the
00:16:48 president. Oh there let’s let me pause
00:16:51 for a minute and let’s find those verse
00:16:53 real quick. Yes. Okay.
00:16:57 So when we left off, we were talking
00:17:00 about how the if a president or
00:17:04 basically
00:17:06 if the president is in trans if the
00:17:08 president of the priesthood is in
00:17:09 transgression. Yes. If the president of
00:17:11 the priesthood is in transgression, they
00:17:14 are to be judged by a council of the
00:17:18 church. The high council of the church.
00:17:21 The high council.
00:17:23 Yeah. So back here it says the common
00:17:27 council of the church which is another
00:17:29 name for the high council of the church.
00:17:32 Correct.
00:17:34 So in verses 81 through 84 of 107 which
00:17:39 Stephen has placed in a kayazm I’m
00:17:42 addicted to them but I try to I I’m
00:17:45 trying to curve it just because of
00:17:46 timewise with other things I’m trying to
00:17:49 do but I I still I enjoy doing it but
00:17:52 absolutely. So uh there I’ll just go
00:17:55 ahead and start reading this off in
00:17:57 verse 81. There is not any person
00:18:00 belonging to the church who is exempt
00:18:02 from this council of the church. And in
00:18:04 as much as a president of the high
00:18:06 priesthood shall transgress. There you
00:18:08 have it. So yes, it’s talking about as a
00:18:12 president because there’s three
00:18:13 presidents because
00:18:16 today we’d probably say president or
00:18:19 counselors just to uh do a connection
00:18:23 between the different times and how we
00:18:25 say and think of things. Right. But
00:18:28 right
00:18:31 uh but also not only that so now we have
00:18:35 uh so we have to bring up history we
00:18:38 have Sylvester Smith talking about the
00:18:42 wiki document that we had open.
00:18:43 Sylvester Smith brought up complaints
00:18:45 against Joseph Smith, who was a
00:18:48 president of the high priesthood
00:18:51 um of the church, accusing him of false
00:18:55 prophecy
00:18:57 and uh mismanagement
00:19:00 of funds and supplies, right?
00:19:05 Yeah, we can show that. And and that
00:19:07 goes with a misunderstanding
00:19:10 of what was it DNC 103, right? Yes.
00:19:13 Which we will go into later on. Okay. Um
00:19:18 so and in as much as the president of
00:19:21 the high priesthood shall transgress, he
00:19:23 shall be had in remembrance before the
00:19:26 common council of the church. Common
00:19:28 counsel is another way to say high
00:19:30 counsel. Yes. who shall be assisted by
00:19:33 the 12 counselors of the high priesthood
00:19:37 and their decision upon his head shall
00:19:40 be an end of controversy concerning him.
00:19:44 Now what’s interesting is is that they
00:19:48 did state that Joseph
00:19:51 had performed honorably with the monies
00:19:54 and supplies and all and he wasn’t a
00:19:57 false prophet
00:19:59 and that was supposed to be the end of
00:20:03 the controversy. Sylvester Smith
00:20:05 continued to state the false accusations
00:20:09 against him and there was a court
00:20:11 brought up against Sylvester Smith. So
00:20:15 if you want, you can maybe get that page
00:20:17 up and I’ll I’ll pause it. But what I
00:20:20 recall off top of my head is that they
00:20:23 did investigation. They saw it wasn’t it
00:20:27 didn’t have any substance and they told
00:20:28 him to stop it and then he didn’t. So
00:20:30 then they had a court on him. But maybe
00:20:33 we should go double check that. So I’ll
00:20:35 pause for a minute while you prepare,
00:20:37 please. Okay.
00:20:39 So this is the uh AI overview. We’re
00:20:44 just doing brief notes on
00:20:47 what happened during this time. So in
00:20:50 1834, Joseph Smith was involved in both
00:20:52 church disciplinary actions and civil
00:20:54 legal civil legal proceedings.
00:20:57 Number one, church disciplinary action.
00:20:59 Sylvester Smith case following the
00:21:01 Zion’s camp expedition in 1834.
00:21:03 Sylvester Smith, who had been a source
00:21:06 of contention within the group, began
00:21:09 spreading accusations against Joseph
00:21:10 Smith. High council hearings. These
00:21:13 accusations led to hearings before the
00:21:14 Kirtland stake high council.
00:21:18 So that is the standing high council
00:21:20 there in the Kirtland stakes. So the
00:21:22 standing one is for the
00:21:25 Zion or stakes. It’s the high council of
00:21:29 the church. It’s a technicality,
00:21:31 but it is an important technicality.
00:21:33 Yes, it is an important You’re right.
00:21:35 Absolutely. I I misspoke. I’m sorry. I’m
00:21:37 still a little buzzed from uh chasing
00:21:39 wine with beer. August 11th hearing, the
00:21:42 council investigated Sylvester’s
00:21:45 uh claims regarding Joseph’s conduct
00:21:48 during Zion’s camp. The outcome of this
00:21:50 was the council concluded that Joseph
00:21:52 Smith had acted in every respect in in
00:21:54 an honorable and proper manner.
00:21:56 Sylvester made a partial confession and
00:21:59 was directed to issue a public one. On
00:22:02 August 27th 28th hearing, Sylvester
00:22:04 continued to circulate charges against
00:22:07 Joseph and failed to publicly confess
00:22:09 leading to a formal hearing before the
00:22:12 high council. So yes, uh against
00:22:15 Sylvester, not Joseph Smith because the
00:22:18 investigation
00:22:20 uh showed that uh there was no need to
00:22:23 do a full-on court hearing. Yeah. There
00:22:27 was no substance to it. And they told
00:22:29 him to quit it. And they told him to
00:22:32 confess that he had been lying about
00:22:35 Joseph Smith. Mhm. After a two-day
00:22:38 hearing with witness testimony in favor
00:22:41 of Joseph, Sylvester agreed to publicly
00:22:43 acknowledge his malicious falsehoods,
00:22:46 which in history bears out he did.
00:22:50 And this is related to Zion’s camp. Just
00:22:53 correct. Yeah. He was uh he was one of
00:22:56 the major fermenttors of discord in
00:22:59 Zion’s camp.
00:23:04 So I do think that kind of shows how
00:23:08 at least him if not many others
00:23:12 um had misunderstood what was stated in
00:23:16 DNC 103 regarding Zion’s camp. Right.
00:23:21 Yes. Now, I kind of want to go back to
00:23:23 this idea of the traveling
00:23:26 uh 12 just reiterating this idea that
00:23:31 they have no power within
00:23:34 the local church.
00:23:37 Yeah. The 12 I also want to visit I also
00:23:41 want to visit the councils. Yeah. Well,
00:23:43 which is right here in 36 37 38 after
00:23:46 35. So once again, the twel apostles. So
00:23:49 when they’re talking the 12, they’re
00:23:51 talking about the twel apostles being
00:23:53 sent out.
00:23:55 Holding the keys go.
00:23:59 Sent out. That doesn’t mean like stay in
00:24:01 a church, does it? No. Also, it also
00:24:04 doesn’t mean making YouTube videos from
00:24:06 your basement. No.
00:24:09 Or or from your office cuz they they
00:24:12 are. So just on that point uh the
00:24:14 apostles have started to make YouTube
00:24:16 videos for believers from their offices
00:24:20 not for the non-believers
00:24:23 but anyway
00:24:25 being sent out
00:24:29 holding the keys to open the door by the
00:24:33 proclamation of the gospel of Yeshua
00:24:35 Hamashiach first unto the Gentiles and
00:24:38 then unto the Jews. So they are to be
00:24:42 sent out the standing high councils at
00:24:46 the stake uh at the stakes of Zion form
00:24:49 a quorum equal in authority in the in
00:24:52 the affairs of the church. So it is the
00:24:54 high councils that have the authority at
00:24:58 the local level. Yeah. So the reason
00:25:00 they’re equal is because the uh 12
00:25:04 traveling 12 apostles can do what the
00:25:08 standing councils do for the church.
00:25:10 they do for the missionary field or the
00:25:14 unorganized
00:25:16 area. Yes.
00:25:20 In all their decisions to the quorum of
00:25:22 the presidency or to the traveling high
00:25:25 council.
00:25:27 The high council in Zion form a quorum
00:25:30 equal in authority in the affairs of the
00:25:32 church in all their decisions to the
00:25:34 councils of the 12 at the stakes of
00:25:36 Zion.
00:25:38 It is the duty of the traveling high
00:25:40 council to call upon the 70 when they
00:25:42 need assistance to fill the several
00:25:44 calls for preaching and administering
00:25:46 the gospel. So the traveling so the
00:25:48 traveling high council is again the 12
00:25:51 apostles.
00:25:53 So you have a you have stake high
00:25:55 councils and you have the high council
00:25:58 of Zion in Zion which is over the church
00:26:01 and then there’s the uh 12 or the
00:26:04 council of the apostles or the 12 the
00:26:07 traveling council which is the uh
00:26:10 apostles to do mission and they’re
00:26:13 they’re the head of the missionary work.
00:26:15 Yeah. So you what you see here is two
00:26:18 towers of um two towers of authoritative
00:26:23 hierarchy here.
00:26:25 One in the missionary, one in the
00:26:27 mission field and one in the organized
00:26:29 church. Yes. Yep.
00:26:34 But they’re but but I I do want to point
00:26:37 out though that missionary work is a
00:26:41 part of the church. So yes, they’re
00:26:43 under the presidency of the high
00:26:46 priesthood. All both tow powers are
00:26:49 under the presidency of the high
00:26:50 priesthood. Correct. It’s just uh
00:26:54 they’re to build the church, not run the
00:26:58 church, right?
00:27:01 One one runs, one builds. Yeah. Yep.
00:27:05 Yep.
00:27:07 So, with that being stated, so I I just
00:27:12 I I do if you still have the tab up, I
00:27:14 do want to review real quick that the
00:27:17 names on the high council that Judge
00:27:20 Joseph Smith
00:27:23 are not the same of those of the
00:27:25 traveling 12 council.
00:27:29 Showing from scriptures
00:27:32 and history, they’re two different
00:27:34 councils. And that is not how any
00:27:38 restoration church is ran today.
00:27:41 Yeah. And I I know some sections are not
00:27:45 universally accepted
00:27:47 but 107 is universally accepted.
00:27:51 [Music]
00:27:53 So once again that council consisted of
00:27:57 new K. Whitney the presiding bishop.
00:28:00 He was presiding
00:28:03 John P. Green, John Smith, Reynolds
00:28:07 Cahoun, Isaac Hill, Samuel H. Smith,
00:28:12 Isaac Story, Amassa Lyman, Peter Schz,
00:28:16 Truman Wait, Roswell Evans, Alfus
00:28:20 Cutler, Thomas Berdick, acting as the 12
00:28:25 high priests.
00:28:28 Oliver Cry and Orson Hyde. or sinhyde
00:28:32 was a member of the quorum of the 12 but
00:28:34 he was only here as a scribe as a clerk
00:28:39 to that council. He was not responsible
00:28:42 for pronouncing any judgment. He was
00:28:44 just there to take the minutes right and
00:28:49 that might have been because of lack of
00:28:52 other people. Who knows? But that that
00:28:54 was that was because he was good at
00:28:57 taking that’s because he was recognized
00:29:00 as being better at taking minutes than
00:29:02 most and or modern vernacular notes,
00:29:06 right? Yeah. Yeah. Uh to make kind of
00:29:09 poke fun at Brigham Young a little bit.
00:29:11 Yeah. He was really good at writing
00:29:12 things down. So anything that he wrote
00:29:15 down was sealed in heaven as well. So
00:29:17 anyway, just making a little joke there.
00:29:20 Um, that’s a Doctrine of Covenants 128
00:29:23 joke. That’s correct. And while some
00:29:25 people don’t believe that Brigham Young
00:29:26 wrote that,
00:29:28 it’s got his stamp all over it,
00:29:30 including the misighted scriptures.
00:29:31 Correct. Yes. And we have a recording on
00:29:34 that. I’ll put in the uh links. Um, yes.
00:29:37 So, yes. So, who were in the who was in
00:29:41 the quorum of the 12?
00:29:43 Thomas B. Marsh, David W. Patton,
00:29:45 Brigham Young, Hec Kimell. Oh, well,
00:29:48 there’s somebody who’s familiar, but but
00:29:50 he was he was a minutes taker. William
00:29:52 E. Mlen, Parley P. Pratt, Lucas Johnson,
00:29:56 William William B. Smith, Orson Pratt,
00:29:59 John F. Boon, and Lyman E. Johnson.
00:30:03 These were the members who were the
00:30:05 quorum of the 12 during 1834.
00:30:09 So conspicuously absent
00:30:12 from these proceedings
00:30:16 are um
00:30:21 these names are conspicuously absent
00:30:24 from the proceedings of the high
00:30:25 council. Yes. Of the high council of the
00:30:28 church that are the only council to
00:30:31 judge the presidency.
00:30:33 Yes.
00:30:36 And all of those people were high
00:30:38 priests, were ordained high priests.
00:30:41 Correct.
00:30:43 Yeah. So, I I I don’t know if we want to
00:30:47 review at least some of DNC 103 now
00:30:51 because I think we’ve done enough on the
00:30:53 council part
00:30:56 to go over some maybe misconceptions.
00:31:01 I do. You want to read all of it or just
00:31:03 do some highlights? Let’s do some
00:31:06 highlights. Okay. So, let’s pause while
00:31:08 we go figure out highlights. Okay. Yes.
00:31:10 Yes. Yes.
00:31:13 So, with this being said, now we’re
00:31:16 going to go into what brought these
00:31:19 allegations from Sylvester Smith onto
00:31:22 Joseph Smith. And that is a little bit
00:31:25 of what happened through Zion’s camp.
00:31:28 Well, and and the revelation for it
00:31:30 because he correct stating Joseph Smith
00:31:33 was a false prophet. So,
00:31:36 and so we start off, we’re going to
00:31:38 start off with the with the section that
00:31:42 ties into
00:31:44 uh the prophecy that had them prepare
00:31:47 basically for going out on Zion’s camp.
00:31:50 uh but here I’m going to start in verse
00:31:53 21 because I feel it very important
00:31:57 that I I make a concept very very very
00:32:03 clear
00:32:06 I used to be a follower of Phil Davis
00:32:10 and as I studied and more I learned the
00:32:15 English language for myself
00:32:18 the more I found that He was all wet
00:32:22 and or in other words full of Yes.
00:32:28 He all his big claim is that Joseph
00:32:31 Smith has returned
00:32:34 because of verses like this. Now I’m
00:32:37 going to sit here and I’m going to teach
00:32:38 well the verses that we’re about to look
00:32:40 at through you and we’re going to use
00:32:43 dictionary definitions to and we will
00:32:45 use the we will use the defary diction
00:32:48 uh dictionary definition sorry about
00:32:51 that to
00:32:54 explain what the word that he used to
00:32:58 say that it’s exactly the same that it’s
00:33:01 actually not and the word is likened
00:33:03 we’ll get to that in just a second but I
00:33:06 am going to go ahead and publicly uh
00:33:09 refute that. Could you pause real quick,
00:33:11 Stephen? Yes.
00:33:14 We will start in verse 21 of section
00:33:17 103.
00:33:19 Verily, verily, I say unto you, and my
00:33:22 servant Joseph Smith Jr. is the man to
00:33:26 whom I likened. Wait a minute. What is
00:33:30 So, I know my I I’m not a walking
00:33:33 dictionary.
00:33:35 No, I know. But but firstly, there are
00:33:38 certain key words in this phrase
00:33:42 before
00:33:43 likened that can actually point that it
00:33:46 is not him.
00:33:50 Yes, even just looking at DNC 101, we
00:33:53 can tell that. Um, but yes. Yes. But
00:33:57 looking at this verse at looking at this
00:34:00 verse side of the word liken we can find
00:34:03 indicators that Joseph Smith is not the
00:34:06 one is not the servant in 101. Correct.
00:34:11 But that he is rather a prophetic like
00:34:14 or as correct. I I I will just say this.
00:34:19 I the major servant talked about in 101.
00:34:22 I’m going off rough memory here. I do
00:34:25 believe the majority of it is the mighty
00:34:27 strong one. But there’s a few things in
00:34:29 there for Joseph Smith. Yes. Yes, there
00:34:32 are. But the the one that that Phil
00:34:34 likes to twist is about the mighty
00:34:36 strong one. That’s for sure. Correct. So
00:34:39 the word like hidden. Let’s look at the
00:34:42 de dictionary definition. Stephen, could
00:34:44 you please read this definition, please?
00:34:47 I think it’s too long. Compared. Oh,
00:34:49 man. Compared.
00:34:53 Okay. So if it’s compared
00:34:56 um is it perpendicular or parallel? Uh
00:35:00 well that I I don’t know if that’s the
00:35:02 right the best I think better is to
00:35:06 state it’s a different person or a
00:35:07 different thing. Well, right because you
00:35:09 have to have two subjects. You have to
00:35:11 have two different subjects to have a
00:35:14 likened or compared analysis. So Joseph
00:35:19 Smith Jr. is the man to whom I compared
00:35:24 the servant to whom Yahwa of the
00:35:27 vineyard spake in the parable which I
00:35:31 have given unto you in 101. Now we will
00:35:34 do a future recording on section 101 by
00:35:37 itself because I feel it
00:35:40 extremely
00:35:42 important to actually with the added
00:35:45 knowledge that we have obtained
00:35:48 through study of DNC and the scriptures
00:35:52 that we go back and we revisit section
00:35:55 101. For sure. That’s I I do want to say
00:35:58 yes. Phil taught this incorrectly. He’s
00:36:01 not the only one. Okay, he is not and
00:36:04 there are many there are actually
00:36:05 several people who teach this. But
00:36:08 likened is compared and in order to have
00:36:11 a compared situation you have to have
00:36:14 two different people. Yes. Yes. Two.
00:36:17 Yeah. Or three or you have to have
00:36:21 multiples. If you liken to something
00:36:22 else, it cannot be the same thing. It
00:36:25 cannot be the same quantity. That that
00:36:27 is correct. It cannot be one.
00:36:31 Therefore, I will just say there and
00:36:35 I’ll give a link to this recording, but
00:36:37 second Nephi 3 recording we have, we did
00:36:40 talk about how Joseph Smith did things
00:36:42 like
00:36:44 or liken or I I’ll just say like here
00:36:48 it’s I was trying to use the word here,
00:36:50 but I don’t think it’s in hindsight. But
00:36:53 anyways,
00:36:54 I’ll use the word close close to what
00:36:57 the mighty strong one will do. But there
00:37:00 are some technical Timmy differences.
00:37:04 But technical Timmy, although you might
00:37:07 find him annoying,
00:37:10 uh it is good to listen to him. So yes,
00:37:12 it because technical Timmy is what keeps
00:37:16 us from committing grievous doctrinal
00:37:18 errors. Yeah. Yes. Yes.
00:37:22 And I don’t use those I do not use the
00:37:24 term grievous lightly. Yeah. So
00:37:28 therefore,
00:37:31 Stephen, could you read 2:22? Yes.
00:37:34 Therefore, let my servant Joseph Smith
00:37:36 Jr. say unto the strength of my people
00:37:40 house, but that means people, my young
00:37:43 men, uh, so this is going to be 20 years
00:37:47 old and middle-aged and and there’s I I
00:37:51 don’t know what that would be, but just
00:37:53 specifically not frail, not old. Right.
00:37:57 right? Um, gather yourselves together to
00:38:00 the land of Zion, upon the land which I
00:38:03 have bought
00:38:05 with money that has been consecrated
00:38:08 unto me. So, I do want to say real quick
00:38:12 before maybe John wants or Ben wants to
00:38:15 say some other things. Anything given to
00:38:18 Yahweh is consecrated. Anything. Okay.
00:38:22 Yes. consecrated simply means set apart
00:38:26 to Yahwa. Yes,
00:38:30 it doesn’t. And one instance of that is
00:38:34 tithing.
00:38:36 Yes. Anyways, I’ll just leave it at that
00:38:38 because that’s a whole another can of
00:38:39 worms. That is that is. And let all the
00:38:42 churches send up wise men with their
00:38:45 monies and purchase lands even as I have
00:38:49 commanded them. So, I I mean, I’ve never
00:38:53 been a church history buff, but I I do
00:38:56 have a general recollection
00:39:01 that it’s presented
00:39:04 that Zion’s camp was to go to war.
00:39:09 Yeah. Here in the DNC, it says was to go
00:39:13 purchase, go buy. So, I’m surprised the
00:39:17 women weren’t arguing to go with them.
00:39:19 That’s more of a joke. But anyway, there
00:39:22 there actually were women that went with
00:39:24 the camp. Oh, okay. So, they’re the ones
00:39:26 that wanted to do the buying then. So,
00:39:29 anyways, that’s more of a joke just as
00:39:31 in uh women generally spend the money
00:39:33 and men make the money nowadays, right?
00:39:35 But anyway,
00:39:37 um but here are the men were to go out
00:39:40 and purchase the lands, right? not not
00:39:44 fight for them, which goes along with
00:39:48 part of the false accusation from I
00:39:51 forget his Sylvester Smith. Sylvester,
00:39:54 that guy against Joseph Smith and
00:39:57 claiming he was a false prophet and
00:40:01 didn’t have the right provisions because
00:40:03 what Joseph Smith probably bought was
00:40:05 fine for
00:40:07 um going and buying but not for an army.
00:40:11 Yes.
00:40:15 It was fine for a peaceful mission. Yes.
00:40:20 Yeah. And in as much as mine enemies
00:40:22 come against you to drive you from my
00:40:24 goodly land which I have consecrated to
00:40:26 be the land of Zion, even from your own
00:40:29 lands after these testimonies which ye
00:40:32 have brought before me against them, you
00:40:35 shall curse them.
00:40:37 And whomsoever ye curse, I will curse,
00:40:39 and you shall avenge me of mine enemies.
00:40:41 Okay, I do want to go with this because
00:40:43 this goes with an interesting statement
00:40:45 that Yahw gave Abraham, right? Yes. So,
00:40:49 let’s uh let’s go get that. So, I’m
00:40:51 going to pause for a minute.
00:40:54 All right. So, we found the verse. I
00:40:56 Yeah, I I I’m more worried about
00:40:58 concepts than references. They’re
00:41:01 they’re they’re both important.
00:41:04 I think concepts are more but that’s my
00:41:06 bias. Okay. Oh, absolutely. And you know
00:41:10 it it probably would help to read the
00:41:13 whole or or read at least read into read
00:41:17 to the point of the blessing
00:41:20 of so starting in verse one I I would
00:41:24 start over. That’s fine. All right. Now
00:41:26 Yahwa had said unto Abram, “Get thee out
00:41:30 of thy country, and from thy kindred,
00:41:33 and from thy father’s house unto a land
00:41:36 that I will show thee, and I will make
00:41:38 thee a great nation, and I will bless
00:41:40 thee, and make thy name great, and thou
00:41:42 shalt be a blessing. And I will bless
00:41:45 them that bless thee, and curse him that
00:41:48 cursseeth thee, and in thee shall all
00:41:51 the families of the earth be blessed.”
00:41:54 Do you want to keep reading or is it
00:41:55 okay to talk about that? No, let’s talk.
00:41:57 Okay. All right. So, this is um an
00:42:01 ancient tradition. Some places like
00:42:04 Africa actually still does this in that
00:42:09 when you covenant with the leader,
00:42:13 the leader protects you.
00:42:17 And it’s as if when you’re interacting
00:42:19 with other people in the area is as if
00:42:21 you are the king.
00:42:24 So if you as a representative bless the
00:42:28 king and you’re doing it within his
00:42:30 names which means character the king
00:42:33 will do that and if people are cursing
00:42:35 you while you’re acting in his name
00:42:38 which is character he will curse them.
00:42:42 Now this goes along with how kings did
00:42:45 this when you became part of their
00:42:47 kingdom.
00:42:51 This is justification
00:42:55 or um mercy
00:42:59 uh or baptism of fire are three of the
00:43:02 names for the same event or becoming a
00:43:05 member of his kingdom.
00:43:10 Uh because it’s going off an old
00:43:11 tradition. You are now part of my
00:43:13 kingdom and I will take care of you
00:43:16 because you have the baptism of fire and
00:43:19 you now are justified. That’s what’s
00:43:22 going on there. Yes.
00:43:26 Now, I I know this might sound a little
00:43:28 foreign to people, but it’s an old
00:43:30 custom and it is actually still
00:43:32 practiced in some places.
00:43:35 And um when you
00:43:40 when you let Yahweh be your head as
00:43:43 talked about in Torah, the head will
00:43:45 take care of things. And that’s what’s
00:43:47 going on there. Okay. So, um yes.
00:43:54 And so, yeah,
00:43:57 whomsoever ye curse, I will curse, and
00:43:59 you shall avenge me of my enemies, and
00:44:01 my presence shall be with you present.
00:44:03 So this right here 25 is saying you
00:44:06 these people
00:44:08 um that he’s talking to God’s talking to
00:44:10 is saying they’ve had the baptism of
00:44:12 fire and are been justified or in in his
00:44:16 kingdom.
00:44:18 Yes.
00:44:20 And my presence shall be with you even
00:44:22 in avenging me of mine house unto the
00:44:25 third and fourth generation of them that
00:44:27 hate me. And that goes along with the
00:44:30 divisions of Torah. Correct.
00:44:34 Let no man be afraid to lay down his
00:44:36 life for my sake. For who so layeth down
00:44:38 his life for my sake shall find it
00:44:41 again.
00:44:42 And who so is not willing to lay down
00:44:44 his life for my sake is not my disciple.
00:44:48 Now I I I do want to talk about about
00:44:51 2728 real quick. On the surface I could
00:44:54 see how someone could take that to mean,
00:44:57 oh, I’m going to war.
00:44:59 But the one thing you need to keep in
00:45:01 mind, there is a difference between
00:45:03 laying down your life and dying.
00:45:08 Yeah. Laying down your life is uh saying
00:45:10 I will do as thou wilt,
00:45:13 not as my will and not dying. And I will
00:45:18 tell you that is harder than physically
00:45:21 dying.
00:45:24 That takes diligence. Dying takes
00:45:27 nothing.
00:45:30 Yeah.
00:45:32 And and this laying down thy life as in
00:45:36 suppressing my will for your will is
00:45:39 becoming
00:45:40 which is what the gospel in Torah and
00:45:43 Yeshua is all about.
00:45:48 Yeah. Yep.
00:45:50 And look even brings out if they don’t
00:45:54 lay down this life he’s not my disciple.
00:45:57 So if you don’t die, you’re not his
00:45:59 disciple. Is that what people think? I
00:46:02 sure hope not. Is if you don’t become
00:46:06 you’re not my disciple. If you don’t lay
00:46:08 down your old life and become born
00:46:11 again.
00:46:15 Yeah. So I man, not an old man with new
00:46:19 excuses.
00:46:21 Yeah. Um, so I I’m mainly bringing this
00:46:23 up though to show how I I could see how
00:46:27 some people can misinterpret this,
00:46:29 right, if they’re not
00:46:34 as studied um and practicing or have
00:46:37 become right. Um,
00:46:42 but it’s not okay. This is what probably
00:46:45 one of the reasons I mean I I don’t know
00:46:48 how much of the minutes that we have of
00:46:50 Jose’s trial but or or the um initial
00:46:54 findings for the trial because the
00:46:56 actual trial was against the accuser um
00:47:00 to to show some of these things. I I’m
00:47:02 no history buff. Okay. I know enough to
00:47:05 be dangerous.
00:47:07 Um but it anyways it’d be curious. Yeah,
00:47:12 it would be that would be um and then
00:47:16 also covering more of these sections
00:47:20 just
00:47:24 these sections are so crucial to
00:47:26 understanding.
00:47:32 So, um, the trial that we kind of talked
00:47:35 about was because of Zion Camps. 103
00:47:39 is telling them to do Zion’s camp, which
00:47:42 was misunderstood. Correct. Probably.
00:47:46 It’s also telling them on what grounds
00:47:48 they were supposed to do Zion’s camp.
00:47:50 Right. Totally ignored. Correct. Um, and
00:47:55 then 105 is something that was given
00:47:58 after Zion’s camp failed.
00:48:02 Yes. Uh trying and so I I do think we
00:48:05 want to look at some of that to bring
00:48:07 out um that how it was for peace and for
00:48:12 purchasing not war. All right.
00:48:17 And so we’ll start in verse 20. We’re
00:48:20 going to start in verse 20 of 105.
00:48:24 And now, verily I say unto you, a
00:48:26 commandment I give unto you, that as
00:48:28 many as have come up hither, that can
00:48:30 stay in the region roundabout, let them
00:48:32 stay. And those that cannot stay,
00:48:35 families in the east, let them tarry for
00:48:36 a little season, and as much as my
00:48:38 servant Joseph shall appoint unto them,
00:48:41 for I will counsel him concerning this
00:48:44 matter, and all things whatsoever he
00:48:46 shall appoint unto them shall be
00:48:47 fulfilled. So in other words, they need
00:48:51 you need to be obedient. You need to
00:48:54 whatever is appointed you need to do.
00:48:57 That’s what fulfilled means. You need to
00:48:59 do it in this context because this
00:49:03 context because there are uh definition
00:49:06 there’s a def there’s a different
00:49:08 definition of fulfilled that is applied
00:49:10 to um like the law. Yeah. The law of
00:49:14 Elohim versus the law of Moses. Well,
00:49:16 yeah. Anyways, yeah. Well, that’s a
00:49:19 different story.
00:49:21 matter for a different recording.
00:49:24 And let all my people who dwell in the
00:49:27 regions round about be very faithful
00:49:30 and prayerful and humble before me. I
00:49:33 will state very faithful,
00:49:38 okay? Trusting and diligent. Faithful
00:49:42 has nothing to do with just spouting
00:49:44 lots of beliefs or believing real hard
00:49:48 even.
00:49:52 Faithful has everything. Faithful is
00:49:55 absolutely the action the is born out in
00:50:00 the actions of faith. Yes. Well, faith
00:50:03 is trust and diligence. So that’s being
00:50:06 faithful is being that yes full of that
00:50:12 behavior which is the behavior is
00:50:14 trusting and diligence.
00:50:18 That diligence is diligent obedience to
00:50:21 every word that proceedth forth from the
00:50:24 mouth of Yah. Yes. Yeah. So be very
00:50:29 faithful,
00:50:32 trusting and diligent obedience to every
00:50:34 word out of the mouth of Yahwa and
00:50:36 prayerful
00:50:39 full of prayer. And a lot of times
00:50:43 prayer can be shown to us through Torah
00:50:49 or every word that proceedth forth out
00:50:51 of the mouth of Yahwa. That’s not a
00:50:53 prescribed punishment, but yes, that is
00:50:56 correct.
00:50:57 And humble
00:50:59 before me.
00:51:03 Humble.
00:51:05 You must not think yourself to be better
00:51:10 than anybody else.
00:51:12 Your stinks, too. My stinks,
00:51:15 too. Everybody’s crap stinks. Humility
00:51:18 before ya. Yeah. It’s about uh
00:51:23 the acknowledgment of our need for
00:51:25 mercy. Correct.
00:51:27 Right. which also does
00:51:31 imply that uh what John is bringing up
00:51:37 because to be keeping Yahw’s
00:51:39 commandments includes not putting your
00:51:43 self above others
00:51:46 uh which is pride right uh which was if
00:51:49 we read through church history a very
00:51:52 common issue with the early members of
00:51:54 the church yes
00:51:59 and reveal not the things which I have
00:52:01 revealed unto them until it is wisdom in
00:52:03 me that they should be revealed. We in
00:52:07 the early church we had a lot of
00:52:09 overzealous people that were impatient
00:52:12 for things to happen. Yeah. In fact,
00:52:15 that’s just natural, man. That that’s
00:52:16 just natural. And they were trying to
00:52:20 some members were trying to have forced
00:52:22 revelations and ca and got fake ones. So
00:52:26 correct.
00:52:29 Okay.
00:52:31 Talk not of judgments, neither boast of
00:52:34 faith, nor of mighty works. That kind of
00:52:38 goes along with what Stephen was saying.
00:52:40 Don’t be prideful. Don’t be prideful.
00:52:43 but carefully gather together as much in
00:52:46 one region as can be consistently with
00:52:50 the feelings of the people.
00:52:53 So here we’re talking about what should
00:52:56 happened in Zion’s camp here partly.
00:53:00 Right. Correct. And this goes along with
00:53:03 being peaceful and not forcing as in
00:53:06 war. Correct.
00:53:10 And behold, I will give unto you favor
00:53:13 and grace in their eyes, that you may
00:53:16 rest in peace and safety.
00:53:20 This was this is what he was trying to
00:53:23 get them to do. Yeah. And seek vengeance
00:53:29 for themselves,
00:53:31 but allow Yahwa to have vengeance. So,
00:53:36 my favorite example uh of Yahw
00:53:41 whispering things to people to uh get
00:53:44 them to do something is with the Ardium
00:53:48 and Gideon and the enemies. I don’t
00:53:50 remember other than just maybe
00:53:52 Canaanites, but the Midianites. The
00:53:54 Midianites. Okay. A and specifically
00:53:58 Yahw gave them dreams making that made
00:54:01 them fear the Israelites which helped
00:54:04 out with what Yahw told them to do.
00:54:09 So um trust him. I I mean he even the
00:54:16 words that he gives people and he can
00:54:19 give them to unrighteous people. For
00:54:21 there’s Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and
00:54:23 Pharaoh’s dream among other things.
00:54:26 Yeah. That were actually very well
00:54:30 established from Yahw because I I mean
00:54:33 they’re they came true and continually
00:54:36 are, right? To get into specifics, but
00:54:38 anyways, um he can do that. Now, I I
00:54:43 will also say if you expecting uh wicked
00:54:46 men to get revelations from Yahw on a
00:54:48 regular basis,
00:54:51 uh you’re mistaken. Yeah, you’re
00:54:54 mistaken. You’re wasting your time. It I
00:54:57 do agree it can happen and it’s there’s
00:55:00 scriptural precedents for it, but if
00:55:01 you’re looking for regular re revelation
00:55:04 from Yahw, go find his holy servants.
00:55:08 Yes. And holiness it has to do with the
00:55:12 behavior
00:55:13 which is defined by Torah for so go find
00:55:17 a teacher servant that uh
00:55:20 uh strives to keep Torah as Nephi did
00:55:23 and teaches others to do the same. Mhm.
00:55:28 So that you may rest in peace and safety
00:55:33 while you are saying unto the people,
00:55:35 “Execute judgment and justice for us
00:55:38 according to law and redress us of our
00:55:42 wrongs.”
00:55:46 So Yahw will help them get back what is
00:55:51 theirs in this case if they would have
00:55:53 done it the right way. Correct.
00:55:57 Now behold, I say unto you, my friends,
00:56:00 in this way you may find favor in the
00:56:02 eyes of the people until the army of
00:56:06 Israel becomes very great. Now, here’s
00:56:09 an important concept that I want to kind
00:56:11 of bring out just briefly.
00:56:14 Israel
00:56:16 or Yashrael
00:56:19 is
00:56:23 designated by a behavior,
00:56:26 not a bloodline.
00:56:29 Correct. Well, a covenant and behavior.
00:56:32 So, yes, covenant and behavior. Thank
00:56:34 you. Well, for that, there are there are
00:56:38 certain peoples with whom Yahwa has made
00:56:41 promises. Correct. And those so it is
00:56:46 like they say covenant and behavior. Um
00:56:50 those people will have to be awakened to
00:56:53 their awful situation
00:56:56 and accept the true Torah of Ilha.
00:57:01 Yes. And I will also say this has uh
00:57:08 shadowing or or maybe that’s not the
00:57:11 right but it’s a prophecy of second
00:57:13 coming events. I’ll just leave it at
00:57:14 that. Yes. Yeah. Now I think 27 is also
00:57:20 very important
00:57:24 and I will soften the hearts of the
00:57:26 people as I did the heart of Pharaoh.
00:57:28 This even solidifies this idea that
00:57:31 Stevens just put out about second coming
00:57:34 events because just as he will soften
00:57:37 the just as he soften the heart of
00:57:39 Pharaoh.
00:57:41 So the reason why this could go along
00:57:43 with second coming is because the second
00:57:45 coming is the second exodus. M Pharaoh
00:57:48 goes with Moses which is the first
00:57:50 exodus. Correct.
00:57:55 So from time to time until my servant
00:57:58 Joseph Smith Jr. and mine elders whom I
00:58:00 have appointed shall have time to gather
00:58:02 up the strength of my house. Now the
00:58:06 house he’s talking about is Israel.
00:58:10 That house will mean people in this
00:58:13 context here. Correct.
00:58:16 and we and to and to have sent wise men
00:58:20 to fulfill that which I have commanded
00:58:23 concerning the purchasing of all the
00:58:25 lands in Jackson County that can be
00:58:28 purchased and in the adjoining counties
00:58:30 roundabout. Oh, wait a minute. So, we
00:58:33 weren’t just supposed to take them?
00:58:35 Nope. Oh, we were supposed to purchase
00:58:37 them. Purchase. All right. Just make
00:58:41 sure we’re clear of that. Wait a minute.
00:58:44 And we even get a clearer picture in 29.
00:58:46 For it is my will that these lands
00:58:48 should be purchased.
00:58:52 Now the question is why in this instance
00:58:54 did the lands need to be purchased and
00:58:57 why in the instance of Israel did they
00:59:00 just go in and take the land without
00:59:02 purchasing?
00:59:06 Uh so this is my theory. I have nothing
00:59:10 to really support it is because Joseph
00:59:13 Smith was not to do a lot of things and
00:59:16 he was to be likened or compared to the
00:59:19 mighty strong one who is the son of
00:59:22 Joseph of Egypt that’s coming. Um and so
00:59:27 he’s supposed to do things
00:59:29 compared to it but not actually that.
00:59:32 And purchasing land can be compared to
00:59:36 taking land by blood.
00:59:38 Yeah. Yes.
00:59:42 So, that is my working theory on that.
00:59:45 Um, I’m just being honest. I don’t know
00:59:48 everything. I’m still trying to figure
00:59:50 things out. Well, also I I uh as we were
00:59:53 discussing this earlier today, Stephen,
00:59:55 I loved the idea with the especially
00:59:58 with the children of Canaan being in the
01:00:01 land of Canaan, their lease was up. They
01:00:04 did not live righteously. Yeah. Okay. So
01:00:07 let me give a little bit uh yeah to help
01:00:10 with what John is saying to give a
01:00:12 little better understanding for people
01:00:14 that may not know all the details.
01:00:17 The land earth
01:00:20 Yahweh only leases it to mortals. Okay.
01:00:24 Yes.
01:00:26 uh it will be the sanctified
01:00:30 or those who receive the baptism of the
01:00:32 Holy Spirit which is Torah or those who
01:00:36 receive celestial glory or received
01:00:38 eternal life or
01:00:41 um
01:00:43 yeah there’s a lot of names for it who
01:00:45 will inherit or get to own some land
01:00:50 after they’re resurrected. Okay. Yes. Um
01:00:54 but until then and guess what those are
01:00:57 righteous people now it is evil
01:01:00 governments righteousness is defined by
01:01:03 Torah correct um it is wicked people
01:01:07 that control the governments in the
01:01:08 world today
01:01:10 they’re on
01:01:14 a lease or being allowed to be on the
01:01:17 land because they don’t own it. Yahweh
01:01:21 leases land to mortals and you’ll even
01:01:24 see that with the distribution of
01:01:27 inheritance with Moses andor Joshua
01:01:31 because there’s kind of a mix there,
01:01:32 right? Anyways, um
01:01:36 and this goes along how when Israelites
01:01:41 cannot sell the land permanently,
01:01:45 they can rent it for a period of time
01:01:49 because they don’t own it. Yahweh does.
01:01:54 So I think with that little Oh, go
01:01:56 ahead, Ben. The reason for that is
01:01:58 because it was showing with that one
01:02:00 piece of land
01:02:03 what is true with all the earth.
01:02:09 Yeah. Owns all the earth. The earth is
01:02:13 his foottool. Correct. So I think with
01:02:16 that little intro I’d probably uh now go
01:02:18 back to John with what he was stating uh
01:02:21 because I do think that would be a help.
01:02:23 Yeah. So, but basically
01:02:26 with the children of Israel,
01:02:29 their time on that land
01:02:32 was at an end. And it was time for
01:02:37 his for Yahwa to give the land that he
01:02:41 covenanted
01:02:44 to the descendants of the righteous men.
01:02:47 And many of whom many of those people
01:02:50 whom who went in to possess the land
01:02:53 were righteous at that time but then
01:02:56 became corrupted over time.
01:03:01 But still the point is is that Yahwa
01:03:07 this land this earth as a whole is
01:03:11 Yahwa’s foottool. He owns it. We don’t
01:03:15 own it.
01:03:17 It is his to give to whom he will and
01:03:20 those are his and uh so to mortals he
01:03:24 leases. So correct correct for it is my
01:03:29 will that these lands should be
01:03:31 purchased and after they are purchased
01:03:33 that my saints sanctified ones should
01:03:37 possess them according to the laws of
01:03:40 consecration which I have given.
01:03:46 And after these lands are purchased, I
01:03:49 will hold the armies of Israel guiltless
01:03:52 in taking possession of their own lands,
01:03:55 which they have previously purchased
01:03:57 with their monies, and of throwing down
01:03:59 the towers of mine enemies, that they
01:04:01 may be upon them, and scattering their
01:04:03 watchmen, and avenging me of mine
01:04:05 enemies unto the third and fourth
01:04:07 generation of them that hate me. And
01:04:09 when we go over 101, verse 30 is
01:04:13 described in detail in section 101.
01:04:16 Yeah. And I I just want to add on 30. If
01:04:19 um
01:04:23 I if the people would have purchased uh
01:04:26 during Joseph Smith time as they were
01:04:27 supposed to and then it was taken away,
01:04:30 Yahweh would have let them and helped
01:04:32 them take it back.
01:04:34 Correct? because just like when the when
01:04:37 on I talked about with the lease, you
01:04:39 can sell your lease for a period of time
01:04:43 uh to someone else. Okay? So there is
01:04:46 even within that leasing that y’all
01:04:48 does, you can do stuff with it yourself.
01:04:52 Um and it’s your lease for until someone
01:04:56 else buys it. Okay. Um so they would
01:05:00 have been justified if they to done an
01:05:03 army to take it back if they would have
01:05:05 done it the right way in the first place
01:05:06 and they didn’t correct. They were
01:05:10 disobedient to the will or what does it
01:05:13 say his will is in verse 29 that the
01:05:16 lands should be purchased. That was his
01:05:19 will
01:05:22 because Joseph Smith is likened unto the
01:05:25 mighty and strong. So he will do things
01:05:27 close to it
01:05:30 but not how the mighty strongman will do
01:05:32 it. Correct.
01:05:35 Correct. So I I kind of wanted to do uh
01:05:40 a lesson on
01:05:42 uh DNC 112 103 and 105 to kind of set up
01:05:48 uh a future lesson on a most spectacular
01:05:53 section. loads of end time prophecy uh
01:05:57 second coming imagery
01:05:59 in 101.
01:06:02 Uh that will be a different lesson. But
01:06:05 I I hope you understand
01:06:08 that
01:06:13 Yahwa
01:06:20 Yahwa’s ways
01:06:26 he works
01:06:28 with He works with mortal men who have
01:06:31 their weaknesses.
01:06:34 Yes. But if men bring their weaknesses
01:06:37 unto him,
01:06:42 he will strengthen them and give them
01:06:44 fortification as we can read in
01:06:50 um
01:06:52 ether.
01:06:55 Let me pull this up real quick.
01:06:59 Chapter 12.
01:07:02 You probably search for weakness if you
01:07:04 don’t know the verse number. I’m
01:07:05 guessing that’s what you want. So 27.
01:07:11 I’ll give a an intro to verse 20 uh to
01:07:15 it with uh verse 25. Thou hast all also
01:07:20 made our words powerful and great even
01:07:22 though we cannot write them. Wherefore
01:07:24 when we write we behold our weakness and
01:07:26 stumble because of the placing of our
01:07:28 words. And I fear lest the Gentiles
01:07:30 shall mock at our words. And when I had
01:07:33 said this, Yahw spake unto me, saying,
01:07:36 “Fools mock, but they shall mourn, and
01:07:39 my grace is sufficient for the meek.”
01:07:42 Meek is another word for righteous
01:07:44 behavior and righteousness,
01:07:47 that they shall take no advantage of
01:07:50 your weakness.
01:07:52 And if men come unto me, I will show
01:07:54 unto them their weakness. I give unto
01:07:57 men weakness that they may be humble.
01:07:59 And my grace is sufficient for all men
01:08:03 that humble themselves before me.
01:08:08 For if they humble themselves before me
01:08:12 and have trust and diligent obedience in
01:08:17 me, then I will make weak things become
01:08:21 strong unto them.
01:08:26 This is
01:08:30 part of the way that Yahwa
01:08:36 brings people to the path of
01:08:39 sanctification.
01:08:41 If you wish to have part
01:08:44 in inheritance, you must become meek.
01:08:48 You must start living righteously.
01:08:53 and righteousness, righteous living,
01:08:56 living righteously is defined by Torah.
01:09:02 Please humble yourselves before Yahwa.
01:09:07 Take upon you his burden, which is
01:09:09 light, and that burden is Torah.
01:09:14 I can testify to you that this is true
01:09:19 and that joy untold can be yours
01:09:24 in the name of Yeshua Hamashiach. Amen.
01:09:27 Amen. Amen. Amen.
