Summary:

Going over D&C 53-55. Someone is elected in the church by vote. You need to be 30 years Hebrew or 29 years Greek to use the Melchizedek in the church. The reason Yeshua started His mortal ministry at 30 years was because as stated in Hebrews He was a Melchizedek priest. Elder and high priest are two names for the same thing, someone who has the Melchizedek priesthood. YHWH is answering things that most likely Joseph did not know that Sidney Gilbert was wondering about. Be in the world but not of the world. Melchizedek priests are to call repentance just as taught in the book of Alma. Some tithing we are to give to the poor directly.  Purpose of life is to come under Yeshua and keep Torah and help others to do the same. Faith is trust and diligence. We are sanctified by Torah. YHWH’s rest is eternal life. The Greek word behind rest goes with abode aka being in YHWH’s presence. We are to endure to the end. Taxes is part of the 10th division of Torah. People complained that Solomon was taking too much taxes not that he was taking taxes. The general store goes against what the LDS church teaches about the united order. Brigham Young’s perversions of the united order goes against the 10th division of Torah. One definition of ordinance is law. Joseph Smith laid his hands upon Emma to give her the Aaronic priesthood. The Bible and the Book of Mormon does not focus on giving us priesthood ordinances. YHWH does not change which means His ways don’t change. YHWH only uses branch in the D&C. YHWH in the D&C brings out how the bishop is the president of all the Aaronic priesthood. Offices of the church are voted on after the branch is organized. To receive YHWH’s protection you need to repent. False teachers and prophets will say repent of your favorite sin instead of all your sins. Law of Moses was a punishment and Numbers 28 states there was an end date. The majority of the church broke YHWH’s covenant. D&C 54:8 shows the Lehites are living in the USA. USA government murdered more Native Americans than the number of Jews that Hitler murdered. Get a job and live by the sweat of your brow. We are to do things for YHWH’s glory not our own. Church is to print books to help people believe. We are to learn what holy prophets and YHWH has taught to others.

00:00:02 Hello brothers and sisters. Here’s to
00:00:05 another
00:00:06 uh teaching here in the doctrine and
00:00:08 covenants uh on our journey DNC
00:00:12 uh where we are journeying through the
00:00:14 doctrine and covenants covering uh
00:00:19 covering these sections uh written
00:00:21 during the early restoration. the early
00:00:23 revelations received to the ear uh the
00:00:26 uh restored church under the uh
00:00:29 leadership of Joseph Smith. And uh so we
00:00:33 will be reading these sections and going
00:00:37 over what’s important in them as we go.
00:00:41 Now um
00:00:43 just to let you know, we have nothing
00:00:46 prepared. We will see these things and
00:00:49 we will call them out as we see them. Uh
00:00:53 so that’s why we call this the journey
00:00:55 DNC is because we are reading through
00:00:58 seeing the type seeing the teachings
00:01:01 seeing the doctrines and uh applying
00:01:05 them or uh
00:01:07 responding
00:01:07 responding to them even yeah better
00:01:10 better word responding to them. Uh so
00:01:13 without further ado today we are going
00:01:15 to be doing sections 53 54 and 55. So,
00:01:18 three sections today. They’re all pretty
00:01:21 short, but
00:01:24 as we have uh seen in previous sections,
00:01:30 a short section can take a while to get
00:01:33 through if it is loaded with doctrine.
00:01:36 So, uh and and uh good teachings and uh
00:01:40 that which point back to Torah. So,
00:01:43 without further ado, here we go. Section
00:01:46 53. Stephen, do you want to start us off
00:01:48 in verse one?
00:01:49 Sure. Behold, I Yahweh say unto you my
00:01:52 servant Signney Gilbert that I have
00:01:55 heard your prayers and have called upon
00:01:59 me that it should be made known unto you
00:02:03 of Yahweh Elohinu concerning your
00:02:05 calling and election in the church which
00:02:08 I Yahweh have raised up in these last
00:02:12 days. So do you want to start with
00:02:14 comments or do you want me to? So
00:02:17 basically I what I see in this verse
00:02:20 I’ll let you cover calling an election
00:02:22 if you want to. Uh but this church, the
00:02:27 restored church of Jesus Christ
00:02:32 was raised up in these last days by
00:02:36 Yahwa,
00:02:37 who is Yeshua, who did come down to
00:02:41 suffer for our sins and iniquities, so
00:02:44 that we may have the opportunity to
00:02:46 repent. But this is the church which he
00:02:49 has raised in these last days. I do
00:02:52 think that it’s interesting to note
00:02:56 um
00:02:59 concerning your calling an election in
00:03:02 the church. So when some people talk
00:03:05 about calling an election, they’re
00:03:07 talking about you’re calling an election
00:03:08 made sure that’s not by that definition
00:03:11 by with that definitional statement in
00:03:13 the church. I don’t think that this is
00:03:16 what that is talking about.
00:03:17 No, it it’s not. This is about uh your
00:03:23 office that you received by your
00:03:26 election or voting
00:03:28 of the voice of the people as we have
00:03:30 read in previous sections.
00:03:32 Yeah.
00:03:33 Right. In fact, that’s one I should
00:03:34 probably add to that list. Um so, um
00:03:39 because that is one about voting right
00:03:42 there. Okay.
00:03:43 Yes, it is.
00:03:43 Yes, it is. the especially the thing is
00:03:47 is that a lot of times we have a
00:03:49 tendency to look at these scriptures in
00:03:52 the Doctrine and Covenants and try to
00:03:54 mystify them beyond all recognition.
00:03:56 Now, one thing I also
00:03:59 I just want to say real quick, people do
00:04:00 that with all scriptures, not just the
00:04:03 DNC.
00:04:04 Well, um we’re in the DNC, so I’m
00:04:06 talking about
00:04:06 Yeah. Yeah. Anyways,
00:04:08 but it’s a fair point. Fair point. They
00:04:10 do it to all scriptures, but right now
00:04:12 DNC is what we’re in. So, let’s uh we
00:04:15 will continue here in just a little bit.
00:04:17 But one thing I do want to point out is
00:04:20 that Sydney Gilbert is obviously
00:04:23 somebody who is a believer and he’s
00:04:26 calling on the name of Yahwa as he as
00:04:29 Yahweh says, “Behold, I say unto you, my
00:04:32 servant Sydney Gilbert, I have heard
00:04:35 your prayers.” Okay. So, here’s a Why
00:04:38 don’t we find out a little bit about
00:04:39 Sydney Gilbert?
00:04:42 All right, that’s a great idea.
00:04:46 So, let me pause for one second.
00:04:47 Yep.
00:04:50 [Music]
00:04:54 So, we did some We pulled up a little
00:04:57 sheet. His first name is Alernon. That
00:05:00 is an epic first name. Alarnon Sydney
00:05:04 Gilbert. He’s born guessing he probably
00:05:07 didn’t use it much because it’s not in
00:05:08 the revelation
00:05:10 because it is absolutely epic.
00:05:13 Oh yeah. Oh yeah. And he was born
00:05:16 December 28, 1789. That is important for
00:05:19 something that’s coming up that we will
00:05:21 talk about. Um he was ordained a high
00:05:24 priest but
00:05:28 and that happened in April 26th, 1832.
00:05:31 Steven, what is the significance of his
00:05:33 birth date being 17 at December 1789
00:05:37 and him becoming a high priest in April
00:05:39 26th, 183?
00:05:40 Uh, he was more than the required age to
00:05:44 be an elder or high priest, which are
00:05:47 the same thing, just different names,
00:05:51 because he was over uh 30 Hebrew there.
00:05:55 though
00:05:57 um by a good amount and I’m not too
00:06:00 worried about getting the exact number
00:06:01 but
00:06:02 and so why is that why is that important
00:06:06 then because
00:06:09 Okay, so you want me to say because you
00:06:11 have to be 30 Hebrew to publicly or
00:06:15 within the church uh do stuff with that
00:06:19 priesthood
00:06:20 and that’s found in Torah.
00:06:23 Yeah. Uh and even the New Testament with
00:06:26 Yeshua when he started his
00:06:27 group. Yeah.
00:06:29 Uh as Hebrew brings out, he was a high
00:06:33 priest and he was 30 when he started
00:06:35 doing his public ministry.
00:06:39 Exactly. Anything you want to add, Ben?
00:06:41 Um
00:06:44 uh he had uh he was one of those whose
00:06:49 uh historically speaking he’s one of
00:06:52 those whose attitudes kind of went sour
00:06:54 when things started going south in far
00:06:57 in um in uh
00:07:00 independence
00:07:01 in independence. Um
00:07:04 and the and truthfully the church was
00:07:08 potentially spread a little too uh that
00:07:11 there was too much space given the
00:07:13 travel mediums of the time between the
00:07:16 branches. They couldn’t really defend
00:07:19 um they couldn’t really defend each
00:07:21 other
00:07:23 uh at least not efficiently.
00:07:27 Uh and he but he he was um
00:07:32 from that point and from that point on
00:07:34 until the day until the day that he died
00:07:37 of uh uh chalera in Klay County,
00:07:42 he u he had a rocky relationship with
00:07:45 the church. He though he um
00:07:50 he never didn’t he never turned he never
00:07:52 turned his back on the church but he was
00:07:54 he had a kind of a
00:07:57 and he he also had an interesting
00:07:59 relationship with new K Whitney and New
00:08:02 K and he he gilbert started the general
00:08:06 store which uh tradition which new K
00:08:09 Whitney kept up
00:08:12 um until they were kept which until they
00:08:15 were thrown out of that thrown out of
00:08:18 that place. But then N K. Whitney in
00:08:21 every other place that he was at
00:08:22 operated the general store.
00:08:25 Um
00:08:27 the it’s is just these are not
00:08:31 necessarily these are things that are of
00:08:34 interest especially when you consider
00:08:35 that new K. Whitney with
00:08:40 is told to be ashamed of the secret
00:08:41 combination that he’s in
00:08:44 in a sec in I forget which section of
00:08:46 the doctrine of covenants that uh
00:08:49 but he he was involved in he was
00:08:52 involved in that. However,
00:08:56 uh so we will uh we’ll forgo that piece
00:09:01 of information right now because
00:09:03 go back to the Wikipedia real quick.
00:09:06 Absolutely.
00:09:07 So, it’s interesting. They have two
00:09:09 dates for ordination. June 6, 1831 and
00:09:14 April 26, 1832.
00:09:17 There’s probably that’s probably there
00:09:19 because of some confusion.
00:09:21 Well, actually, I think it’s the office
00:09:23 presiding high.
00:09:24 Well, they both say ordained.
00:09:27 Yeah.
00:09:28 Well, that’s true.
00:09:30 But it’s ordained to office and the
00:09:32 presiding high council.
00:09:34 He’s one of he was one of the seven high
00:09:36 priests in the presiding high.
00:09:38 Okay. So maybe April 26 is when he got a
00:09:40 later calling.
00:09:41 Yes.
00:09:42 And then but the June 6th one is the one
00:09:44 that I think is dealing with the one of
00:09:46 the revelation that we’re reading.
00:09:48 Correct. Yes.
00:09:50 Absolutely.
00:09:51 He was just ordained to the Melkisedc to
00:09:54 the high priesthood
00:09:56 uh when this revelation that we’re
00:09:58 reading was received. Uh well a couple
00:10:00 days after but
00:10:02 well yeah know right but you know
00:10:04 basically layman’s ser
00:10:07 so the thing is
00:10:13 the difference between an elder and a
00:10:15 high priest is a word
00:10:19 or a phrase
00:10:22 high priest is two words but anyways
00:10:26 at least last time I went to elementary
00:10:28 school.
00:10:30 No, it’s just one. It’s just one word. A
00:10:32 priest. Uh and uh yeah, there you go.
00:10:35 Well, especially Well, it has to be two
00:10:37 words, especially if you want that
00:10:39 priest to be high.
00:10:42 Anyways,
00:10:43 anyway, we’re we’re getting
00:10:45 All right. So, uh I I want to bring out
00:10:47 a couple things from verse one if that’s
00:10:49 okay.
00:10:50 Oh, that’s great.
00:10:50 Um so, it’s
00:10:53 uh I Yahweh have heard your prayers. So,
00:10:57 I want to talk about that some.
00:11:00 So, if
00:11:02 he told Joseph Smith what his concerns
00:11:04 were before the prayer,
00:11:07 that’s a like
00:11:10 that statement would not have much of
00:11:12 effect. Okay.
00:11:14 Right.
00:11:15 I So, without going and reading more
00:11:18 history, I’m inclined to believe that
00:11:23 Sydney didn’t tell Joseph Smith
00:11:25 everything. He may have told him some.
00:11:27 Okay. But there’s going to be stuff in
00:11:30 here that Sydney did not tell Georgia
00:11:34 Smith that he was wondering about.
00:11:37 Yes.
00:11:38 Um because I if and this also happened
00:11:41 with Oliver Calry. I can’t remember
00:11:43 sections numbers. That’s not my
00:11:45 strength. But uh there are sections like
00:11:49 uh where this kind of statement is told
00:11:52 to uh all over Calry also.
00:11:56 Now if these guys would have told Joseph
00:12:00 Smith what all the concerns were before?
00:12:03 I mean how is that phrase impressive?
00:12:07 Because he’s only answering stuff that
00:12:08 they told him. Mhm.
00:12:11 And so I do believe this is bringing out
00:12:14 how Sydney these last couple days were
00:12:18 praying to Yahweh
00:12:20 uh about what he needed to do as
00:12:23 concerning your
00:12:25 uh office and your voting into the
00:12:29 office into the church, right? As in the
00:12:32 latter part of the verse.
00:12:34 So, I I I do think this
00:12:39 shows that this is actually from Yahweh
00:12:43 and not just Joseph Smith. If you ask
00:12:45 me, um, and to me, if it wasn’t that
00:12:48 way, how would it would be like,
00:12:53 right,
00:12:53 it’d be very disappointing, right, to
00:12:56 make it sound like Yahweh’s hearing your
00:12:59 prayers, but it’s just stuff that Joseph
00:13:02 Smith heard from the person.
00:13:04 It’d be
00:13:06 easy to dismiss it. where if he’s
00:13:09 answering things that were not told
00:13:11 Joseph Smith,
00:13:13 that’s impressive. And I and considering
00:13:17 how this is this same basic idea has
00:13:19 happened in other sections in the DNC.
00:13:23 Um I think that’s a big deal personally.
00:13:26 Yeah.
00:13:28 Uh and then the other things are this is
00:13:31 do going about how um voting is done.
00:13:35 Okay. Aka election.
00:13:37 Yes.
00:13:38 So, I will add that to the page if I
00:13:41 don’t already have it. And then it says
00:13:44 last days and not latter days. It’s a I
00:13:47 might be being technical Timmy, but
00:13:50 there is a difference.
00:13:52 There is a difference.
00:13:53 Uh, and just to be put it briefly, last
00:13:56 days are with Joseph Smith. The latter
00:13:59 days are with the coming mighty and
00:14:01 strong one. Anyways,
00:14:05 behold I Yahwa who was crucified for the
00:14:08 sins of the world give unto you a
00:14:11 commandment that you shall forsake the
00:14:15 world.
00:14:17 Okay.
00:14:20 So, I I’m guessing he didn’t go tell
00:14:22 Joseph Smith that I’m wondering what if
00:14:25 I need to forsake the world or not.
00:14:29 Because I mean he Joseph Smith would not
00:14:33 have needed a revelation to tell him
00:14:35 what to do on that. Okay.
00:14:37 Yeah.
00:14:37 Uh so I think this is one thing among
00:14:40 others that he did not actually share
00:14:42 with Joseph Smith. personal opinion, but
00:14:45 anyways,
00:14:46 I do think that it’s important to go
00:14:48 into this idea of what it means to
00:14:49 forsake the world. The world when by
00:14:52 forsaking the world, you’re not necessar
00:14:54 doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re
00:14:56 just um um becoming a hermit and locking
00:15:01 yourself away and what have you. The
00:15:04 world
00:15:05 and just to add to that, if Ben will
00:15:07 excuse me just a minute, Yahweh said,
00:15:09 “Be in the world, not of the world.
00:15:13 So forsaking the world is not being of
00:15:17 the world,
00:15:19 right? You’re not partaking in the
00:15:20 Babylon system
00:15:23 per se in all the Babylon system.
00:15:25 Well, I I think probably a better way of
00:15:27 saying it, your desires are not aligned
00:15:29 with it because
00:15:31 especially right now we are still in the
00:15:35 s the Babylon system. But
00:15:37 yeah, we kind of have to we and we kind
00:15:38 of have to be because that’s what we
00:15:40 live in,
00:15:42 right? But you don’t make it your
00:15:44 desire. And the things that go against
00:15:48 Yahweh’s ways known as Torah, you just
00:15:52 don’t participate in. But there are a
00:15:56 lot of things in the world that are not
00:15:59 like commerce. Commerce is not against
00:16:01 Yahweh’s Torah. So,
00:16:04 no, not at all. Not at all. Um,
00:16:11 okay. Yes.
00:16:12 Is there anything else?
00:16:13 Uh, not that I uh just to reiterate that
00:16:17 uh behold I Yahwa who was crucified for
00:16:21 the sins of the world pointing toward
00:16:22 modalism.
00:16:24 Um
00:16:24 Yes. Because it shows that Yahweh is
00:16:27 Yeshua, right?
00:16:28 Yes.
00:16:31 Uh so that’s one other thing to take
00:16:33 into consideration.
00:16:35 And for those who think Elohim is a
00:16:39 different person, it’s just a title. And
00:16:41 you’ll even see throughout the DNC. I
00:16:44 don’t know if the sections that we’re
00:16:46 going to review or not, but it’s Yahweh
00:16:48 Elohim
00:16:50 is quite consistent. Oh, I though
00:16:52 actually we did do Yahweh in verse one.
00:16:55 So, I’m going to correct myself. Verse
00:16:56 one, Yahweh Elohim. I mean, I do know I
00:17:00 said Elohinu just because I know the
00:17:02 exact Hebrew that’s under it, but that’s
00:17:04 basically that Yahweh Elohim. Okay.
00:17:07 Yeah. Verse one, it’s showing that uh
00:17:10 Elohim is a title. Yahweh is the name,
00:17:14 right? But anyways,
00:17:16 Zach, do you want to read verse three?
00:17:20 Did you want to say that?
00:17:21 Sure.
00:17:26 Take upon you my ordination,
00:17:29 even that of an elder, preach faith and
00:17:32 repentance and remission of sins
00:17:35 according to my word and the reception
00:17:37 of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of
00:17:39 hands.
00:17:41 Okay. So here he is saying, “Take upon
00:17:44 you mine ordination.” those it states in
00:17:47 specifically in verse one that he
00:17:50 received his calling that he received
00:17:52 his calling obviously he would have to
00:17:54 have received his calling from Yaha but
00:17:57 it’s by the election of the church
00:17:59 yeah by the voice of the church
00:18:01 by the voice of the church take upon you
00:18:04 mine ordination and this is him giving
00:18:07 it to him by his voice through Joseph
00:18:09 Smith um and this actually is still
00:18:13 valid because of doctrine Covenant
00:18:15 section one whether by my known voice or
00:18:18 by the voice of my servants it is the
00:18:20 same.
00:18:25 Well I so I think my ordination is is
00:18:28 more along that my servant is doing it
00:18:33 but I do think the calling has to do
00:18:35 with office and the people voted for it.
00:18:38 Okay. Okay.
00:18:39 I I I don’t know. There are occasions
00:18:42 where Yahweh has said, “I want this
00:18:44 person.” Now, you church decide if
00:18:46 you’re going to listen to me or not. I
00:18:48 don’t know if this is one of those
00:18:50 occasions or not. Right.
00:18:52 Okay.
00:18:53 I don’t think there’s enough information
00:18:55 to justify.
00:18:56 There’s not there isn’t enough
00:18:57 information, but however,
00:19:01 uh I think it’s interesting.
00:19:04 So
00:19:06 yes, he’s called by the voice of the
00:19:08 people,
00:19:10 but take upon you mine ordination,
00:19:14 even that of an elder. So the ordination
00:19:17 comes with responsibilities.
00:19:20 Every calling comes with
00:19:22 responsibilities. So take upon you
00:19:26 those responsibilities.
00:19:27 What the responsibilities of those who
00:19:29 hold the high priesthood? Let’s look at
00:19:30 Elma chapter 13.
00:19:32 Yeah. In fact, I was going to say that
00:19:34 and it actually just kind of repeats it.
00:19:36 Call repentance.
00:19:38 Yeah.
00:19:40 Elma 13. Should have done a new tab, but
00:19:43 oh well.
00:19:45 Uh, do you remember which verse? And
00:19:48 uh, just search repent.
00:19:49 Oh yeah. Uh, controllf.
00:19:55 There we go. Yes. Now, as I said,
00:19:58 concerning the holy order of this high
00:20:00 priesthood, there were
00:20:01 which that’s the Melzdc priesthood,
00:20:03 which is elder, right? Which
00:20:06 I I I I know we say this uh regularly
00:20:11 right now, but here’s another instance
00:20:13 of the mazesc priesthood
00:20:16 in the Book of Mormon.
00:20:19 Yep.
00:20:21 Now, as I said, concerning the holy
00:20:23 priesthood or this high priesthood,
00:20:24 which we know, Mr. Uh, brother Sydney
00:20:27 Gilbert had
00:20:28 Wait a minute.
00:20:30 There’s several revelations that refer
00:20:32 to the United Order and I do believe
00:20:35 that is the same thing as the holy
00:20:36 order.
00:20:40 Uh,
00:20:42 so United Order I do believe is um
00:20:47 tithing,
00:20:48 right?
00:20:49 Um, and the poor.
00:20:52 You notice that um
00:20:55 Abraham paid his tithes to Melkisedc who
00:20:57 was a high priest
00:20:59 though the children of Israel paid their
00:21:00 tithes to the house of Levi
00:21:03 who were not high priests. Correct.
00:21:04 That’s
00:21:05 not all of it though. Let’s make that
00:21:07 clear. Some of it they gave to people
00:21:09 direct the to the poor directly. Some of
00:21:12 it was through the Levites. Some of it
00:21:14 they gave directly. And some of it they
00:21:17 just left the corners and people picked
00:21:20 up themselves. So there’s not all the
00:21:23 tithing was done through the Levites.
00:21:25 And this is another justification for
00:21:28 why we call
00:21:31 uh why we say the elders and high
00:21:33 priests are used interchangeably. There
00:21:36 were many who were ordain who were
00:21:38 ordained and became high priests of
00:21:41 Elohim.
00:21:44 And it was on account of their exceeding
00:21:46 faith and repentance and their
00:21:48 righteousness before Elohim, they
00:21:51 choosing to repent and work
00:21:53 righteousness rather than to perish.
00:21:55 Kind of goes along with what Stephen
00:21:57 constantly makes refrain to. Learn
00:22:00 Torah, repent, learn Torah, follow it,
00:22:05 and invite others to do the same.
00:22:08 Yeah. That’s what that here’s that
00:22:09 that’s his calling, right?
00:22:11 Yes.
00:22:12 Whi- which is the purpose of life.
00:22:15 Correct.
00:22:17 Um
00:22:19 therefore called after this holy order
00:22:21 and were sanctified. Their garments were
00:22:24 washed white through the blood of the
00:22:25 lamb.
00:22:28 So therefore is a connector to the other
00:22:31 to the previous section was on account
00:22:34 of their faith and repentance exceeding
00:22:36 faith. Not just regular faith. This is
00:22:39 faith that exceeds.
00:22:41 I mean, they’re being diligent. Um,
00:22:44 yeah, probably even exceedingly
00:22:49 diligent, right?
00:22:51 Yes. They’re exceeding faith and
00:22:53 repentance and their righteousness
00:22:54 before God. Therefore, they were called
00:22:56 to this holy order. And by their faith
00:23:00 and their repentance and their
00:23:02 righteousness before God, they were
00:23:04 sanctified and their garments were
00:23:07 washed white through the blood of the
00:23:10 lamb. So this holy order is the
00:23:13 Melchazdc priesthood. Just so we’re
00:23:14 clear, it it’s not the one that you were
00:23:16 bringing up before. This holy order here
00:23:19 is in fact even says the word or or this
00:23:23 high priesthood. Uh and I was wondering
00:23:26 where you’re getting it from, but I
00:23:27 think you were maybe changing that holy
00:23:29 order a little bit. But anyway, sorry. U
00:23:31 but this holy order is the Melkazedc
00:23:33 priesthood.
00:23:34 Yeah, the holy order is Melkis.
00:23:36 Yeah. Yeah. Now they after being
00:23:38 sanctified by the Holy Ghost Torah uh
00:23:42 Holy Ghost Torah uh having their
00:23:45 garments made white being pure and
00:23:47 spotless.
00:23:48 Well, but to go along with that, what’s
00:23:51 another name for sanctific? Oh, yeah.
00:23:54 Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
00:23:56 Spirit,
00:23:57 which spirit is behavior, right?
00:23:59 Yeah.
00:24:00 Goes along with one of Ben’s favorite
00:24:02 sections, DNC. Is that one 84?
00:24:05 84.
00:24:07 I think it’s
00:24:08 Oh, wait. Actually, it is 84. Yeah,
00:24:09 it’s 84.
00:24:10 I think 84.
00:24:11 Yeah, it’s 84. Um,
00:24:13 verse 45.
00:24:14 Yeah.
00:24:16 Now, uh, being pure and spotless before
00:24:19 Elohim could not look upon sin save it
00:24:22 were with abhorance. And Yahweh can’t
00:24:26 look upon sin with the least degree of
00:24:27 allowance.
00:24:29 Yes, that is uh that is Yahwa’s God.
00:24:31 That is Yahw’s law of allowance.
00:24:35 He doesn’t.
00:24:36 He looks upon sin without the least
00:24:38 degree.
00:24:41 And there were many, exceedingly great
00:24:43 many who were made pure and entered into
00:24:46 the rest of Yahweh Eloh Eloh.
00:24:51 And now, my brethren, I would that ye
00:24:54 should humble yourselves before Elohim
00:24:57 and bring forth fruit, meat for
00:24:59 repentance. Now he okay so this is Elma
00:25:04 teaching he’s gone through this process
00:25:07 now and now he is teaching people to do
00:25:11 he is inviting the people to do the same
00:25:15 and now my brethren I would that you
00:25:17 should humble yourselves before Elohim
00:25:19 and bring forth fruit meat for
00:25:22 repentance that ye may also enter into
00:25:25 that rest. I really think that here what
00:25:28 he’s doing is showing by example what
00:25:31 somebody of the high priesthood should
00:25:33 do.
00:25:33 Yes.
00:25:34 Yes. That’s one thing he’s bringing. But
00:25:36 let’s go let’s look at this word rest.
00:25:39 He was just talking about being
00:25:41 sanctified, right? Which another term is
00:25:45 uh that is celestial glory which shows
00:25:49 that rest is eternal life.
00:25:52 Yes.
00:25:53 Right. Because sanctification is eternal
00:25:55 life. And here it’s tying that
00:25:58 sanctification to rest right there.
00:26:01 You can also we can also and just an
00:26:04 interesting thing about rest.
00:26:08 Let’s uh go to Bible hub in Hebrews.
00:26:13 Um
00:26:16 in the New Testament, we go to Hebrews.
00:26:20 Let’s see. We’ll go
00:26:22 uh
00:26:24 Oh, okay.
00:26:24 Sorry, I I’m I’m sorry. I’m I’m doing
00:26:29 I was trying to get the DNC section back
00:26:31 up, but uh Hebrews
00:26:33 chapter 3.
00:26:35 Well, I think you wanted Bible Hub.
00:26:37 Oh, you wanted Bible Hub. Sorry. Yeah.
00:26:40 Yep.
00:26:40 So, hold on. Hold on. Hold on.
00:26:42 Control T. Oh, okay. Never mind.
00:26:44 Sorry.
00:26:48 Hebrews three, you said, right? Yeah.
00:26:51 Hebrews chapter 3. It talks a lot about
00:26:54 how people failed to enter his rest.
00:26:58 Uh and uh what verse specifically?
00:27:00 Sorry.
00:27:00 Let’s let’s first start let’s start with
00:27:02 verse 11. The first time where it talks
00:27:04 they shall not enter into my rest. What
00:27:07 is the word in the we’ll look at the
00:27:09 Greek word that’s used for rest in
00:27:12 Hebrews chapter 3 11.
00:27:14 Okay. So we’ll go to the interlinear or
00:27:17 Yeah, I guess.
00:27:18 Yeah. Uh they shall not enter. That is
00:27:21 katapulin.
00:27:22 Katapulin
00:27:25 which is rest or repose.
00:27:28 Reposing down. Abode
00:27:31 abode
00:27:32 abode. I see
00:27:35 abode like a like abode with or be with
00:27:40 they will not. Yeah. They are not they
00:27:42 will not be with him. No. So this is
00:27:45 entering into his rest is to be in his
00:27:48 presence uh which is as Stephen said
00:27:52 eternal life.
00:27:54 Yes.
00:27:55 Uh and because eternal life is abiding
00:27:58 or aboding being with
00:28:02 uh Yeshua in his glory which is also
00:28:05 talked about as the father. Right.
00:28:07 Yeah.
00:28:11 And there was
00:28:16 because even after baptism and the
00:28:19 laying on of hands
00:28:21 for the reception of the Holy Spirit,
00:28:25 uh going back to verse three of DNC 53,
00:28:29 you still need to continue
00:28:32 on living Torah, living the
00:28:34 commandments, living uh the instruction.
00:28:38 Are you telling me that it’s not once
00:28:39 saved, always saved?
00:28:41 Nope.
00:28:42 Oh dear.
00:28:42 I know.
00:28:43 Oh dear.
00:28:45 Terribly.
00:28:47 Uh Stephen, you want to pick up in
00:28:49 just on that point, if it was that
00:28:52 um what would be the reason to endure? I
00:28:55 just
00:28:56 Right.
00:28:57 You’re right. It’s like, oh, I’ve been
00:28:58 saved. I can I can now uh I can now goof
00:29:01 off now.
00:29:02 Yeah. So that sounds like a new excuse
00:29:04 for your old self.
00:29:06 Yeah. Yeah, they what’s the point in
00:29:09 striving for holiness?
00:29:12 Yeah, there is none with that attitude
00:29:15 in that
00:29:16 at that point. What’s the what is the
00:29:18 point?
00:29:21 Um, well, the point will make a hole for
00:29:24 you to go to hell. So,
00:29:26 yeah. Uh, yeah. And that and that and
00:29:29 that’ll be following the point on your
00:29:31 head. That’s
00:29:33 true. Yeah. Anyways, okay. Verse four.
00:29:36 Yes. and also to be an agent unto this
00:29:39 church in the place which you shall be
00:29:43 appointed by the bishop according to the
00:29:47 commandments which shall be given
00:29:49 hereafter.
00:29:50 And that place turned out to be as the
00:29:53 operator of the general store in Zion.
00:29:58 Sure. Um
00:30:02 yeah. And so
00:30:03 which actually shows that commerce is
00:30:08 not a anti- Torah.
00:30:11 Well, no, it’s not. If if it was, you
00:30:14 couldn’t give tithing by money.
00:30:17 Yeah.
00:30:18 Which the DEC does show is uh
00:30:20 acceptable.
00:30:22 Nor could you pay taxes,
00:30:26 right?
00:30:27 And so on that point, they never
00:30:30 complain that Solomon did taxes period
00:30:34 because taxes is fine. And I actually
00:30:37 believe taxes under the 10th division of
00:30:40 Torah. Okay.
00:30:42 The only complaint he charged too much.
00:30:44 Not that he was charging. He the taxes
00:30:47 that he the the way that they talked
00:30:50 about things the taxes that he was
00:30:52 charging were such that it was basically
00:30:57 take taking the life out of his people.
00:31:01 Right? And also I do think this goes
00:31:04 along that he was put in charge of the
00:31:07 general store goes against the false
00:31:11 idea of um united order that the
00:31:15 brigamites push or consecration as they
00:31:19 push it because if it was how they push
00:31:21 it
00:31:23 there wouldn’t be a general
00:31:24 there wouldn’t be a store.
00:31:26 Why? Why would you need why would you
00:31:28 need a general store?
00:31:30 Yeah. And then in addition, why would
00:31:32 you even have the 10th division of
00:31:34 Torah? Because that’s against coveting,
00:31:36 right?
00:31:37 And if you own everything with everybody
00:31:39 else, how could you covet?
00:31:41 I think um I think um Brigham Young I
00:31:45 think Yan needs to check with Brigham Y.
00:31:47 Young on this.
00:31:49 Uh no, Yahweh does not follow the ideas
00:31:53 of the false rabbis as Brigham Y Young
00:31:56 did. Okay.
00:31:57 Exactly. Exactly. No, I I said that
00:32:01 tongue and cheek because I know
00:32:03 just it’s one of those things that um
00:32:06 you know when you often times when you
00:32:09 cite scripture that goes against
00:32:12 people’s favorite um false traditions
00:32:16 uh
00:32:18 they
00:32:20 go
00:32:22 they go kind of haywire.
00:32:25 Oh yeah. Um, I have a little post about
00:32:28 it on the Book of Mormon even accept
00:32:30 this and accept that because when I
00:32:32 started I used to just I used share tons
00:32:35 of Book of Mormon verses
00:32:37 and so I get a little tongue and cheek
00:32:38 about it. I think it’s kind of I think
00:32:40 it’s oddly humorous.
00:32:43 Yeah. Yeah. Um,
00:32:45 people use the Book of Mormon and the
00:32:47 DNC and the Bible
00:32:50 as tokens because they’re not when you
00:32:54 show them something that goes against
00:32:56 it. No, I’m going to include the JST,
00:32:58 they’ll just say,
00:33:01 uh, I believe the rest of it,
00:33:04 right? They they it’s not a salad bar.
00:33:09 Sorry.
00:33:10 Yeah. No, it’s not.
00:33:12 Yeah. You can’t pick and choose the
00:33:15 while you should be picky and choosy
00:33:18 about what you accept as the word of
00:33:21 Elohim. Once you know that something is
00:33:24 the word of Elohim, you should live
00:33:27 accord there is no question as to
00:33:29 whether you should live according to it.
00:33:32 Correct? in the Book of Mormon and most
00:33:34 of the DNC and the JST
00:33:38 uh and for the most part the Bible it
00:33:41 has some translation issues. It is the
00:33:43 word of Yah. We should be following it.
00:33:46 Yeah.
00:33:46 Um we should not be making excuses that
00:33:49 it’s not I we could uh I can understand
00:33:52 that people wanting to understand it
00:33:54 better.
00:33:56 Yeah.
00:33:57 But that’s different than just whole out
00:33:59 rejecting as people generally do. So
00:34:02 correct.
00:34:03 Yeah. That that the rejection the
00:34:06 rejection uh the rejection thing that’s
00:34:09 not seeking understanding.
00:34:11 Yeah.
00:34:11 No, it’s willful ignorance.
00:34:14 Um
00:34:15 Oh, I I I wouldn’t call it ignorance. I
00:34:19 would call it willful rebellion.
00:34:22 Well, yeah. It’s rebellion.
00:34:24 It is rebellion.
00:34:25 They call it ignorance is to give them
00:34:27 excuse.
00:34:28 True.
00:34:28 Yeah. It’s rebellion. Sorry. You’re
00:34:31 right. No, you’re absolutely right. Um,
00:34:34 so Ben, you want to read five?
00:34:35 Okay. And again, verily I say unto you,
00:34:39 you shall take your journey with my
00:34:41 servants Joseph Smith Jr. and Sydney
00:34:43 Rigdon.
00:34:44 Read six as well.
00:34:46 Behold, these are the first ordinances
00:34:48 which you shall receive.
00:34:50 Okay, so let’s talk about
00:34:52 now we need to go into ordinances here.
00:34:54 What ordinances has this actually talked
00:34:56 about?
00:34:57 These ones are going to be laws,
00:34:59 especially with Yeah. What ceremonies
00:35:02 has it actually talked about here? None.
00:35:05 Ordinances here are laws.
00:35:06 Yeah. And in fact, verse four talks
00:35:08 about commandments. So,
00:35:10 Yep.
00:35:11 And the ordinance that possibly could be
00:35:15 talking about, which I don’t agree it
00:35:17 is, don’t think it is, is the laying on
00:35:19 of hands. Um
00:35:22 but
00:35:23 but considering four says he’s going to
00:35:25 get commandments uh that ordinance in
00:35:28 verse six I do believe refers to laws.
00:35:31 Yes. So when you consider that when you
00:35:34 consider that even with Aaron and when
00:35:37 you look when he was consecrated
00:35:40 when you look at the description of that
00:35:42 event in the Bible it doesn’t actually
00:35:46 mention the laying on of hands.
00:35:49 It mentions having oil poured upon his
00:35:52 head. Um, and when they’re set apart, it
00:35:56 talks about uh dabbing oil on the ear,
00:36:00 oil and blood on the ear
00:36:02 and and various other pl toe uh various
00:36:06 other places.
00:36:08 So I I I personally do believe it
00:36:12 at at some point it there would have
00:36:14 been laying on of hands and specifically
00:36:17 one I could use for that is DNC25 with
00:36:20 Emma that is specific stated laying on
00:36:23 of hands. So
00:36:24 yeah that’s true
00:36:25 and so
00:36:27 then this is the value of actually being
00:36:29 of actually having more word
00:36:34 more of Yah’s word than
00:36:38 it than just simply what was given to us
00:36:41 in the first place that called the
00:36:43 Bible.
00:36:44 Yeah. So the
00:36:47 the Bible is not focused on giving a
00:36:50 whole bunch of priesthood
00:36:53 ceremonies, nor is the Book of Mormon.
00:36:57 The DNC helps us out with that, right?
00:37:00 Yeah, that’s those are the kinds of
00:37:02 things that we find about as we go
00:37:03 through this journey. DNC uh is about
00:37:06 the things about the laying on of hands
00:37:09 and uh etc etc.
00:37:11 Yeah. So anyways,
00:37:13 and I think it’s also interesting.
00:37:15 Behold, these are the first ordinances
00:37:18 which you shall receive, which is laws,
00:37:20 and the residue shall be made known in a
00:37:23 time to come, according to your labor in
00:37:27 my vineyard, or your diligence
00:37:30 in keeping the first ordinances that you
00:37:34 receive. Uh, and I think also part of it
00:37:38 could be in this one as it
00:37:42 situations come up that you need to
00:37:43 learn it. So,
00:37:44 right. Right.
00:37:45 So, and but I do think if he wasn’t
00:37:48 being diligent though, he wouldn’t learn
00:37:50 that because why would he give him more
00:37:52 if he’s not keeping what he already got?
00:37:54 And that’s a summary from Yahweh.
00:37:57 So, and so again here in verse seven, we
00:37:59 also have the again this I reiteration
00:38:03 that it’s not once saved always saved.
00:38:05 And again, I would that you should learn
00:38:07 that he only is saved who endureth unto
00:38:10 the end.
00:38:12 Yeah, there’s that endure. Now, I I
00:38:15 don’t know off because I haven’t studied
00:38:17 this subject a lot, but I don’t know if
00:38:19 there’s something so as clear as that in
00:38:21 the New Testament. Ben would probably
00:38:23 know better than that than I would.
00:38:26 Um, I would have to I would have to I I
00:38:30 couldn’t do it off the I couldn’t recall
00:38:32 it off the fly.
00:38:33 Okay. But this is that’s very uh clear
00:38:37 there, right?
00:38:38 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
00:38:42 But this is the thing because
00:38:45 you know everybody likes to sing their
00:38:48 comforting songs about how Yopa never
00:38:51 changes but they don’t get what that
00:38:53 means. They don’t get what’s on the
00:38:55 other end of that stick.
00:38:57 That means that whether it’s whether
00:39:00 it’s reveal
00:39:02 whether we have it recorded as revealed
00:39:04 early or late it’s just as true.
00:39:10 what was revealed late was always just
00:39:12 as true as what was revealed early.
00:39:15 And um
00:39:18 I know this is at least in the DNC,
00:39:20 maybe some other places that Yahweh does
00:39:22 state that truth is what was before,
00:39:25 what is now, and what is to come.
00:39:28 Correct.
00:39:28 Yeah. Um there is a
00:39:31 now
00:39:33 that that I do remember when I was um
00:39:37 back a little bit into my uh eastern
00:39:40 into my eastern
00:39:43 um religion phase. I I I read this quote
00:39:48 from Confucious that said that is real
00:39:50 which does not change.
00:39:53 that one. I actually agree with him on
00:39:55 that one, but there’s much I don’t agree
00:39:57 with him on.
00:39:58 Right. And this is this is a this is
00:40:02 actually a truth that I was able to
00:40:04 cling to that was that’s helped me to uh
00:40:07 come out of um many layers of deception
00:40:12 because that is real which does not
00:40:14 change. No.
00:40:20 Right.
00:40:22 Now we will move to um
00:40:27 section 54 which is given to brother new
00:40:31 night
00:40:34 not to be confused with new k Whitney.
00:40:36 Correct. New night.
00:40:38 New seemed to be have been a very
00:40:40 popular name among the early latter day
00:40:42 saints.
00:40:43 Correct.
00:40:45 Um, so let’s do a little uh Do you mind
00:40:50 pausing real quick?
00:40:55 All right. So, we found information on
00:40:57 N. Knight. He was one of the first
00:40:59 bishops. He was a bishop of the
00:41:01 Kohl’sville branch in Kohl’sville, New
00:41:03 York.
00:41:04 uh that branch relo was told to relocate
00:41:07 to the Lehman Copley farm in I do
00:41:12 believe it’s Kland no Thompson Thompson
00:41:14 Ohio
00:41:14 Thompson Ohio uh and Leman Copley did
00:41:18 not consecrate the land and attempted to
00:41:21 sell it to them at exorbitant prices
00:41:24 u which they had had to uproot they
00:41:27 couldn’t afford that uh they couldn’t
00:41:29 afford those prices so then they were
00:41:32 later relocated to Jackson County,
00:41:34 Missouri.
00:41:36 Um,
00:41:37 and the interesting thing is this whole
00:41:39 body uh this whole this whole
00:41:43 congregation
00:41:44 of um of members of the restoration
00:41:49 stayed together
00:41:51 up until the point and then where they
00:41:54 arrived in Jackson County, Missouri.
00:41:56 Correct.
00:41:56 As a
00:42:04 So um
00:42:07 yeah.
00:42:10 So I where it says first branch
00:42:12 president
00:42:14 uh that means bishop. This idea of
00:42:17 branches and wards or that’s a LDS
00:42:22 brigamite.
00:42:23 It’s an LDS brigamite fiction.
00:42:25 Yeah. there. So, yeah.
00:42:29 Now, I can understand why they say
00:42:31 branch president because
00:42:37 DNC 20 or DNC 107 does bring out how the
00:42:41 bishop is the president of the erotic
00:42:44 priesthood in the branch. Right. So,
00:42:49 and not just the priest, all the erotic
00:42:52 priesthood, but
00:42:53 Yeah. Yeah. So, you
00:42:56 If you if the if the church were still
00:42:59 operating according to uh what it was
00:43:02 revealed to operate
00:43:05 under Yahwa,
00:43:07 there would not be a teachers corn
00:43:09 president or a deacon’s corn president.
00:43:12 They’re all under the opices of the
00:43:14 bishop.
00:43:15 Correct.
00:43:17 Correct. So with that being said,
00:43:21 um
00:43:25 this section is to
00:43:29 uh was given to New Knight after the
00:43:32 betrayal of Leman Copley. And so we will
00:43:35 go ahead and read these verses. Uh
00:43:38 right, Zack, you want to start it off in
00:43:41 verse one?
00:43:46 So, Zach, you’re muted.
00:43:48 You’re muted, buddy.
00:43:54 Behold this saith Y, even Alpha and
00:43:58 Omega, the beginning and the end. Even
00:44:02 he who was crucified were the sins of
00:44:04 the world.
00:44:06 So again, another reference to modalism.
00:44:11 He’s crucified for the sins of the
00:44:12 world.
00:44:13 Yahweh go just to bring this out. Yahweh
00:44:17 goes with the father, right?
00:44:20 Yes.
00:44:21 The one that was crucified is the son.
00:44:23 So
00:44:25 and the alpha and alpha and omega is
00:44:27 used for both.
00:44:32 Yeah.
00:44:32 And the beginning and the end is used
00:44:34 for.
00:44:35 Well, alpha and omega means the
00:44:37 beginning and the end. It’s just that
00:44:39 alpha is the first letter in the Greek
00:44:41 alphabet. Omega is the last one in the
00:44:44 Greek.
00:44:44 Yeah, you’re right. You’re right.
00:44:46 But yes, I’m just I noticed that this is
00:44:50 used constantly in the in the Bible and
00:44:53 Well, it’s going to be in the New
00:44:54 Testament. The alpha omega is going to
00:44:56 be New Testament, not Old Testament.
00:44:58 Correct.
00:44:58 Yeah. You’re not going to find that.
00:44:59 You’re I I challenge anyone to find a
00:45:03 reference to Alpha and Omega in the Old
00:45:04 Testament.
00:45:06 A valid one from script, not something
00:45:09 they may,
00:45:11 right? Yeah.
00:45:14 Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you,
00:45:16 my servant New Knight, you shall stand
00:45:19 fast in the office where unto I have
00:45:21 appointed you.
00:45:24 Okay. And so once again, this is New
00:45:26 Knight having been appointed in that
00:45:28 office through Joseph Smith.
00:45:31 Um, but by my voice or the voice of my
00:45:35 servants, it is the same.
00:45:37 Correct.
00:45:37 Right. Right. And we I don’t I don’t
00:45:40 know enough. It was done by the vote of
00:45:42 the church because it was uh already
00:45:44 organized or by re
00:45:47 he had been the president of the
00:45:48 Kohl’sville branch since it was
00:45:50 organized.
00:45:51 Mhm.
00:45:52 Okay. But still
00:45:54 uh was it done by revelation because it
00:45:58 was decided before it was organized or
00:46:01 Yes.
00:46:04 Yes. His his appointment came uh his
00:46:07 appointment came by revelation.
00:46:09 Okay. before the branch as part of the
00:46:12 organization of the branch.
00:46:14 Okay. So, right. Right. So, but that’s
00:46:16 in the starting of the organization. So,
00:46:18 it was before a vote was necessary at
00:46:22 that time.
00:46:22 Correct.
00:46:25 Once again, but New Knight was I I will
00:46:30 tell you this among those in that from
00:46:33 what I’ve read among those in that
00:46:35 branch, they would have voted for him.
00:46:38 Sure. Sure. It was obvious that he had
00:46:40 the skills needed, right?
00:46:42 Yes.
00:46:43 And if your brethren desire to escape
00:46:45 their enemies, let them repent of all
00:46:47 their sins and become truly humble
00:46:51 before me and contrite.
00:46:55 You see, and this is and herein we have
00:46:58 the issue with the entire restoration.
00:47:02 I don’t know of a whole lot of people in
00:47:04 the restoration who actually repented of
00:47:08 all their sins.
00:47:10 Sure. Sure. Um and this also goes along
00:47:13 with um
00:47:15 to receive Yahweh’s protection, you have
00:47:19 to repent because that’s the only way to
00:47:23 escape from your enemies. because
00:47:27 um Satan is a clever little dude and
00:47:32 he’s got little minions spying on
00:47:34 everybody all the time. So you unless
00:47:38 you got Yahweh’s protection, you’re not
00:47:41 going to escape from Satan and his
00:47:43 minions. Okay.
00:47:44 You’re going to have a hard time.
00:47:46 Yeah. Yeah. Because I I I mean
00:47:50 his devils are everywhere spying on us,
00:47:55 right? Yes,
00:47:56 absolutely.
00:47:57 Can’t keep a secret from him.
00:47:59 Nope.
00:47:59 So, we we need uh as what’s brought up
00:48:03 in Job is to make it such that uh Satan
00:48:08 doesn’t have permission to do specific
00:48:10 things because when Satan did stuff to
00:48:12 Job, he had to get Yahweh’s permission
00:48:16 first.
00:48:18 Yep.
00:48:20 Yep. Yep. Yep. Uh Stephen, do you want
00:48:22 to pick up in number four?
00:48:25 Yeah. And as the covenant which they
00:48:28 made unto me, Yahweh, has been broken,
00:48:32 uh-oh. Meaning sinning, even so it
00:48:35 became void and none effect. So, uh, if
00:48:40 you want Yahweh’s promises, you have to
00:48:43 keep his word, which goes along with the
00:48:48 repenting, right, of all your sins.
00:48:51 Nowhere in scriptures does it state
00:48:54 repent of your favorite sin.
00:48:59 Though that might be the hardest one for
00:49:01 you to repent of,
00:49:02 right? But that is something that only
00:49:05 comes from false prophets of Satan.
00:49:09 said
00:49:10 throughout the scriptures is repent of
00:49:12 all your sins. Not your favorite one.
00:49:14 Okay.
00:49:15 And all of your sins is all of your sins
00:49:18 as defined by Torah.
00:49:21 Yes.
00:49:21 Correct.
00:49:23 Because no commandments have been added.
00:49:26 No commandments have been taken away.
00:49:28 Anyone who has attempted to add or take
00:49:31 away a commandment from the Torah
00:49:36 stands accursed before Elohim.
00:49:40 Now, punishments can stop. Okay?
00:49:46 Through repentance and ceasing to add
00:49:49 and take away commandments. The
00:49:51 interesting thing about these
00:49:52 punishments
00:49:54 is that when you read in is when you
00:49:56 read them carefully, you’ll see that
00:49:57 their end that their end date is
00:50:00 actually given in along with the
00:50:02 description of the punishment like you
00:50:05 find in numbers chapter 28 with regards
00:50:07 to the law of Moses.
00:50:09 Correct.
00:50:12 But because of false traditions, people
00:50:14 don’t notice that. But anyway,
00:50:16 right. and and they think that the law
00:50:17 of Moses is Torah.
00:50:20 It’s it’s no I understand why they think
00:50:23 that because that’s been incorrectly
00:50:27 taught for a very long time.
00:50:29 Correct.
00:50:29 But when you look at things carefully,
00:50:33 which I I can add some resources for
00:50:35 that, it actually shows that they’re
00:50:36 different. So,
00:50:38 absolutely. And also read verse five,
00:50:41 Stephen.
00:50:43 And woe to him by whom this offense
00:50:46 cometh. For it as in the sin or the
00:50:50 broken covenant, right?
00:50:52 For it hath been better for him that he
00:50:54 had been drowned in the depths of the
00:50:57 sea.
00:50:58 That’s quite a statement there.
00:51:01 He’s basic. And um now
00:51:05 there are peop now the
00:51:08 now the heading of this section will
00:51:11 link that to Leman Copley as being the
00:51:13 person who broke his covenant by not um
00:51:18 by saying that he would consecrate his
00:51:20 land and then withholding it.
00:51:23 I you know on some of that history I
00:51:26 don’t know
00:51:28 what was going on there. Uh, I know what
00:51:31 brigamites say about it, but brigamites
00:51:35 twist history. So,
00:51:37 yeah.
00:51:38 Um, because consecrate is giving to the
00:51:40 church versus letting someone use it is
00:51:43 different, right?
00:51:44 Yeah. Right.
00:51:46 And I I think he just let people use it,
00:51:49 but it’s not something I’ve been that
00:51:50 worried about. But,
00:51:53 um, it’s not mentioning his name at all.
00:51:57 Right.
00:51:58 Yeah. It doesn’t specifically mention
00:52:00 Leman Copley though. Um Leman Copley was
00:52:04 did turn out to be the cause why they
00:52:06 had to move to Far West.
00:52:08 Yes.
00:52:10 Well, there there was probably multiple
00:52:12 issues on that one.
00:52:13 Well, as we see, they’ve broken the
00:52:16 covenant. The people of the Kohl’sville
00:52:18 branch had broken the covenant.
00:52:20 Right. This is
00:52:22 So I I I mean I know people love to
00:52:25 change pronouns nowadays, but back in
00:52:28 when this was given they is actually
00:52:31 multiple people and not just one.
00:52:34 Well, right. Yeah. Yeah. This is this is
00:52:36 multiple people.
00:52:38 Yeah.
00:52:38 This is multiple people breaking the
00:52:40 covenant. And I would and I will say
00:52:44 I will say this. I
00:52:49 not very long after this that we get the
00:52:51 revelation in section 84 that talks
00:52:53 about the church being under
00:52:54 condemnation. Well, because they’ve
00:52:57 taken lightly the covenant. Oh, wait.
00:52:59 Isn’t that somewhat the same as saying
00:53:01 you’ve broken it?
00:53:03 Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. So, there’s one.
00:53:06 That’s a good point. And DNC84 says the
00:53:08 whole church had broken the covenant.
00:53:10 The whole church.
00:53:11 Well, maybe not the whole church, but
00:53:13 the majority of the church.
00:53:14 Enough of the church that you could say
00:53:16 it was that you could.
00:53:17 Yeah. Yeah. Because I I without being
00:53:20 too exaggerating without exaggerating.
00:53:22 Sure. Sure. Yeah, that’s fine. Um
00:53:24 because I I I’m just bringing I don’t
00:53:26 think Joseph Smith was included in that
00:53:29 and probably hire him and a few others.
00:53:30 But anyway,
00:53:31 well, you have some except you have some
00:53:33 exceptions. And in and in the doctrine
00:53:36 of covenants, it talks about um that
00:53:39 there are exceptions to the general rule
00:53:41 of condemnation. But um
00:53:45 most of the time uh you know he he
00:53:50 doesn’t exempt the church from that
00:53:51 condemnation. He lumps them into it.
00:53:55 Yes. This is another example how the
00:53:58 church is twisting things and they don’t
00:54:00 even know what a pronoun is specific
00:54:04 they
00:54:05 right
00:54:08 well blessed are so going into six but
00:54:11 blessed are you want to read it then
00:54:12 here
00:54:12 oh yeah maybe yeah I I do know how to
00:54:14 read thank you excellent excellent
00:54:16 um but uh blessed are they who have kept
00:54:19 the covenant see
00:54:21 oh wait wait wait there’s a plural there
00:54:23 again stupid have kept the covenant and
00:54:27 observed the commandment for they shall
00:54:30 obtain mercy.
00:54:35 So some people broke it, some people
00:54:37 kept it, right?
00:54:38 Yes.
00:54:39 Uh which could go along with the we the
00:54:42 tears possibly even, right? But
00:54:44 yeah,
00:54:46 wherefore go to now and flee the land
00:54:50 lest your enemies come upon you and take
00:54:53 your journey and appoint whom you will
00:54:55 to be your leader and pay monies for and
00:54:57 to pay monies for you.
00:54:59 Uh appoint who you will that would be uh
00:55:03 by the voice of the people.
00:55:05 Yes.
00:55:05 Yes.
00:55:07 And thus you shall take your journey
00:55:09 into the regions westward onto the land
00:55:12 of Missouri onto the borders of the
00:55:16 Lammonites. And trust
00:55:19 and these they weren’t just supposed to
00:55:21 live in the borders of the Lammonites.
00:55:24 There are revelations which tell them
00:55:26 that they’re supposed to teach the
00:55:27 gospel to the Lammonites.
00:55:29 Correct. Now, one thing I um I want to
00:55:31 go back to seven a little bit. The
00:55:35 reason they had to flee
00:55:38 is because
00:55:40 uh a lot of them were breaking the
00:55:42 commandments. So they did not deserve
00:55:45 Yahweh’s actual real protection. So the
00:55:48 only way to save them is to get them to
00:55:51 leave.
00:55:52 Yes.
00:55:54 Okay. And so he’s being merciful to them
00:55:57 in the degree that he can be uh in
00:56:00 regards to their obedience to the
00:56:03 covenant that they made. Right.
00:56:08 Right. So this is the interesting thing
00:56:10 that you find time and time again in the
00:56:12 Bible. Ya is merciful with Israel and
00:56:16 does not does not scatter them and does
00:56:19 not destroy them. And just like with the
00:56:22 early with the early church with the
00:56:25 1830s restoration,
00:56:28 um they spit on it.
00:56:32 They don’t repent. They don’t turn to
00:56:35 the law.
00:56:40 They don’t turn to Torah.
00:56:43 They walk every man in their own way.
00:56:47 Right? And then on verse 8, this also
00:56:50 helps support that the Book of Mormon
00:56:52 happened on the US continent. But I do
00:56:56 think we need to keep in mind here that
00:57:00 um the government pushed him west.
00:57:03 Right.
00:57:05 So this
00:57:07 there there’s a little ambiguity here,
00:57:09 but it’s not to the point that it’s a
00:57:11 mess America. Right.
00:57:13 Right. Right.
00:57:16 Yeah. the government didn’t remove any
00:57:18 peoples from the heartland and send them
00:57:22 all the way to Meso America.
00:57:24 Well, and then there’s also the point
00:57:26 where where did they actually go?
00:57:29 The early saints did or the early church
00:57:32 did not go to Meso America,
00:57:35 right? So, so they did make the Native
00:57:38 Americans walk in the cold of winter.
00:57:42 Yeah.
00:57:45 to places like Missouri
00:57:48 and uh Oklahoma
00:57:49 and Oklahoma
00:57:52 thousands of miles.
00:57:55 Yeah, they did
00:57:56 dumping those who died of exposure in
00:57:58 the swamps.
00:58:02 The US government uh killed more Native
00:58:06 Americans than Hitler killed Jews, but
00:58:08 it’s in history. So,
00:58:11 yes. um they did a lot of atrocities to
00:58:15 them. So
00:58:17 anyways,
00:58:19 verse nine. And after you have done
00:58:21 journeying or fleeing,
00:58:25 behold, I say unto you, seek ye a living
00:58:29 like unto men, until I prepare a place
00:58:33 for you.
00:58:34 Or as stated in Genesis, uh by the sweat
00:58:37 of your brow.
00:58:38 Yes.
00:58:40 So what were they to do? Were they to
00:58:42 just walk in, waltz in and say, “This
00:58:45 land is our land. This land is our land.
00:58:46 We’ve got a shotgun and you ain’t got
00:58:48 one.”
00:58:50 No, they were supposed to make a living
00:58:52 as in work for money and trade as you’re
00:58:57 supposed to do. Cuz when they said that,
00:59:00 that’s actually against Torah. And thou
00:59:02 shalt not steal.
00:59:06 Whoa.
00:59:10 They did not conquer a land to to take
00:59:13 of the spoils.
00:59:16 They just wanted to go in and steal. Uh
00:59:19 the the early church had some problems.
00:59:23 And again, be patient in tribulation
00:59:25 until I come. This sounds like what he
00:59:28 told the Jews who were taken into
00:59:31 Babylon.
00:59:34 Yeah. Be patient in tribulation. But
00:59:37 it’s also what he told uh Elma the elder
00:59:41 too when they went to another land and
00:59:43 the Lammonites found them.
00:59:45 Yep.
00:59:48 Until I come. Behold, I come quickly. Uh
00:59:52 this
00:59:52 that quickly is an interesting word.
00:59:54 This would fall under the definition of
00:59:56 biblical soon.
00:59:59 And my reward is with me. And they who
01:00:01 have sought me early shall find rest.
01:00:06 Oh, there’s that eternal life, right?
01:00:09 Rest to their souls. Even so, main.
01:00:14 Okay. So, I’m gonna pause a second.
01:00:16 Yep.
01:00:18 All right. And so in this last section,
01:00:21 section 55, we will be talking uh Yahweh
01:00:25 will be giving instruction to WW Phelp
01:00:28 Phelps who was a registered printer. He
01:00:32 owned the printing press for the church
01:00:34 and printed all of their major uh
01:00:37 publications.
01:00:39 Um
01:00:41 and Yahwa gives instruction in this
01:00:43 section to him and also to Joseph Co and
01:00:49 Oliver Cry.
01:00:53 All right. So verse one, I’ll go ahead
01:00:56 and start us off. Behold, thus sayith
01:00:58 Yahweh unto you, my servant William.
01:01:00 This is WW Phelps or William W. Phelps.
01:01:03 Yay, even Yahwa of the whole earth. In
01:01:07 case you didn’t think that was the case,
01:01:10 William,
01:01:12 thou art called and
01:01:14 we don’t know his background, but um
01:01:18 different cultures saw that was there
01:01:20 was an Elohim for different sections of
01:01:24 right. Um and so
01:01:27 this is this is a this is actually
01:01:30 simply a reference to monotheism as
01:01:32 opposed to um
01:01:34 polytheism poly poly or pantheism.
01:01:38 Yeah.
01:01:39 Yeah.
01:01:40 Uh and when we as we look at WW Phelps
01:01:46 later,
01:01:50 he does tend to uh he does become
01:01:54 antagonistic towards Joseph later. Um
01:01:58 but yeah, thou art called and chosen,
01:02:00 and after thou hast been baptized by
01:02:02 water, which if you do with an eye
01:02:05 single to my glory, you shall have a
01:02:08 remission of your sins and a reception
01:02:11 of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of
01:02:14 hands. Okay. So, whose glory?
01:02:17 Yah’s. So, not him trying to make
01:02:20 himself look good because he’s got cool
01:02:22 words, but it’s all for Yahweh’s glory,
01:02:26 not the preachers glory.
01:02:29 Correct?
01:02:30 And I has to go with desire. So, your
01:02:34 desire should be bringing glory to
01:02:37 Yahweh, not yourself. As in another way
01:02:40 of state this
01:02:42 uh those who
01:02:45 abase themselves shall be
01:02:49 exalted. Those who exalt themselves
01:02:51 shall be abased. Right.
01:02:53 All right.
01:02:54 Yeah. Let your let your glory be in Yah.
01:02:58 Yeah.
01:02:58 Always. All right. Ben, you want to do
01:03:01 too?
01:03:03 And then shalt thou be ordained by the
01:03:05 hand of thy servant Joseph Smith Jr. to
01:03:09 be an elder onto this church, to preach
01:03:12 repentance and remission of sins by way
01:03:15 of baptism in the name of Yeshua
01:03:17 Hamashiach, the son of the living
01:03:19 Elohim. Now, this is really cool. So,
01:03:24 he’s telling him first to get baptized
01:03:26 himself
01:03:28 and then to preach repentance and
01:03:33 baptism to others. So here here’s a a
01:03:37 question because I I I think this is
01:03:39 saying something but I’m going to double
01:03:40 check. He was a member at this time,
01:03:44 right?
01:03:45 Yes.
01:03:46 So uh it seems we have just found a DNC
01:03:50 section that teaches
01:03:53 rebaptism,
01:03:54 right?
01:03:55 Yes.
01:03:59 Um
01:04:00 that’s a nice little gem. Actually,
01:04:03 actually, I don’t know if he was a
01:04:04 member at this time.
01:04:06 All right, hold on.
01:04:08 Well, let’s go find out.
01:04:10 I’m looking it up right now.
01:04:12 What year did his day?
01:04:13 June 14th, 1831.
01:04:16 Okay. Yeah, he may or may not.
01:04:19 It may not have been Hold on. Uh WW
01:04:23 Phelps cuz that was like really at the
01:04:26 beginning.
01:04:28 Early founder,
01:04:31 author, early life 1800. When was he
01:04:35 back?
01:04:36 Going with involvement in the L
01:04:37 statement.
01:04:38 There you go. Uh Phelps met Joseph Smith
01:04:42 1830
01:04:46 and became convinced that Smith was a
01:04:48 prophet. On April 29th, 1831, Phelps was
01:04:51 imprisoned at Lions, New York by a
01:04:53 couple of prison for a small debt for
01:04:56 the purposes. Okay. Phelps moved to
01:04:59 Kurland. He soon visited. Dang it.
01:05:05 Sorry.
01:05:08 I don’t know what that was.
01:05:14 He was not yet baptized.
01:05:16 He wasn’t.
01:05:17 Okay. Well,
01:05:20 okay. So, it’s not rebaptism then.
01:05:22 It is not. It is.
01:05:23 It’s not in the Book of Mormon and the
01:05:25 Bible as I have examples of, but
01:05:27 he’s not baptized until June 20th.
01:05:30 Okay.
01:05:30 So, six days after he gets this
01:05:32 revelation, he gets baptized.
01:05:34 Correct.
01:05:36 So, he But there’s still some good
01:05:39 things to get from this. If he thought
01:05:42 Joseph Smith was just doing stuff off of
01:05:44 what he told him,
01:05:46 why would he just
01:05:50 and claiming it from Yah, it’d be kind
01:05:53 of funny, right? So
01:05:55 this
01:05:57 touched him or inspired him, right?
01:06:03 So well,
01:06:07 uh, you want to do verse three, Stephen?
01:06:09 Sure, I’ll read it.
01:06:11 and on whomsoever you shall lay your
01:06:14 hands if they are contrite before me,
01:06:17 you shall have power to give the Holy
01:06:20 Spirit.
01:06:22 So he’s talking about what he his
01:06:25 calling could be in the future, right?
01:06:27 Because this is to
01:06:30 William and not to Joseph Smith. It’s
01:06:32 through Joseph Smith but to William. So
01:06:34 he’s bringing out Yahweh is bringing out
01:06:36 a future calling he could have. Right.
01:06:38 Yes.
01:06:41 Okay. And again, so I said it was to
01:06:45 Oliver Cry. It was actually WW Phelps
01:06:47 who was given to be an assistant to
01:06:49 Oliver Caldry. And again, you shall be
01:06:52 ordained to assist my servant Oliver Cry
01:06:54 to do the work of printing and of
01:06:58 selecting and writing books for schools
01:07:01 in this church. that little children
01:07:04 also may receive instruction
01:07:07 before me as is pleasing unto me.
01:07:12 Well, that’s interesting. So, these are
01:07:15 books by the church specifically for
01:07:17 little children to help them
01:07:20 Yeah.
01:07:20 understand, right?
01:07:22 Oh, so that maybe they might be ready to
01:07:26 uh
01:07:28 be baptized
01:07:29 to be baptized.
01:07:30 Yeah. So, so this is part like I would
01:07:33 say m printing materials to help the
01:07:36 parents to do their job,
01:07:38 right?
01:07:39 Correct.
01:07:41 Correct.
01:07:42 Because uh Moroni 8 and a DNC section, I
01:07:47 forget which one it is, but it brings
01:07:50 out how the parents are responsible for
01:07:51 teaching the children, but here it shows
01:07:54 how the church is responsible to help
01:07:56 the parents, right?
01:07:57 Yes.
01:08:00 And again, verily I say unto you, for
01:08:02 this cause you shall take your journey
01:08:05 with my servants Joseph Smith Jr. and
01:08:07 Sydney Rigdon, that you may be planted
01:08:10 in the land of your inheritance to do
01:08:14 this work.
01:08:15 And William W. Phelps, the where it was
01:08:18 he was supposed to do his work
01:08:22 was in Missouri.
01:08:24 Yep.
01:08:28 because that’s that’s where he went with
01:08:31 Joseph Smith.
01:08:39 And again, let my servant Joseph co
01:08:41 Joseph Co also take his journey with
01:08:43 them. The residue shall be made known
01:08:45 hereafter, even as I Yahwa will. Amen.
01:08:54 So, um that’s really the only sections
01:08:59 that uh I wanted to go over tonight. Uh
01:09:03 we’ve learned a ton uh from these three
01:09:07 uh sections. Just just because it was
01:09:11 aimed personally
01:09:14 does not mean that we cannot learn from
01:09:19 these revelations that Yahw gives.
01:09:24 All the scriptures uh well
01:09:29 most likely the scriptures were not
01:09:32 given to you personally so we’re all
01:09:34 learning but we all can benefit from
01:09:38 these
01:09:39 um scriptures like uh Alma 12 pops in my
01:09:43 head that conversation
01:09:45 uh I was not there but I can
01:09:48 you know that’s true that’s true
01:09:50 and learn from it right Yeah.
01:09:53 Yeah. And anybody alive today was not
01:09:56 alive back then.
01:09:58 You’re absolutely right. I I didn’t say
01:10:02 it the best, but
01:10:03 Oh, I’m just um making it a little more
01:10:07 obvious for
01:10:09 more dense people, but
01:10:10 Oh, absolutely. Absolutely.
01:10:11 Yeah. So we uh so you know it’s uh
01:10:14 there’s there’s
01:10:18 the facts of the matter are we’re all
01:10:20 fools in the eyes of ya and we can all
01:10:22 afford to learn the same lessons that
01:10:24 these people either learned or failed to
01:10:26 learn.
01:10:28 Yes.
01:10:30 Yeah.
01:10:31 So the the key the invitation coming
01:10:35 from this teaching is the same
01:10:37 invitation that came to the Koh’sville
01:10:41 branch and those who are already in the
01:10:43 land of Thompson and uh Kirtland County
01:10:46 Ohio
01:10:48 uh Thompson and Kirtland counties Ohio
01:10:52 and that is
01:10:54 repent
01:10:56 come unto Torah. Take Torah into your
01:10:59 life. Live it. Uh, learn it, live it,
01:11:03 and love it
01:11:05 or else.
01:11:06 No,
01:11:09 thanks.
01:11:10 Uh, learn it, live it, love it,
01:11:15 take it upon you. This is what it means
01:11:18 to repent is to take Torah upon you and
01:11:23 embrace the atonement of Yeshua.
01:11:29 So please, brothers and sisters, I
01:11:32 implore you
01:11:34 to repent.
01:11:40 And uh I say these things in the name of
01:11:42 Yeshua Hamashiach. Amen. Amen.
