Summary:

Romans is the instruction book for the walk in holiness. Christians read the scriptures like a story. The Bible is the revelation of the mind and will of an unchanging Elohim to his people. YHWH does not contradict himself. Romans is to be understood as a letter. The New Translation is pro Torah. Torah = every word that proceeds from the mouth of Elohim. A comparative reading shows the New Translation to be clearer. Translations are problematic but necessary. Apostleship defined as one sent out. D&C 112:27 Not to be concerned with the established church. D&C 107:33-35 Traveling high council. keys are knowledge. Gospel = good news that Yeshua paid the price of sin. There is no freedom without law. Genesis with the story of Dinah and Shechem shows that the law and the gospel were always meant for the gentiles, but Israel was jealous and cut off the gentiles. Genesis 48 also talks about Ephraim becoming the gentiles. Christians do to Paul, what Mormons do to Joseph Smith. Yeshua was made a mortal man through the seed of David. If Yeshua was the literal Son of God, then God committed adultery. Yeshua is declared the Son of God through living by every word of Elohim. We receive grace through obedience. Members are called to discipleship. The objective is Shalom or sanctification. Steadfast = enduring to the end. Faithful obedience encourages others to obey. Apostles serve the body. Torah keeps us in the gospel. Obedience sanctifies and sanctification is the fulness of the Gospel. True leaders love the people and want to help them. Life happens. Paul acknowledges that others have helped him. Paul owes the gospel to the Romans. More is given to those who will receive. From those who will not receive is taken what they have. The gospel of the Messiah is the power of Elohim to those who have true faith. Those who keep Torah live because of their faith. The wrath of Heaven is revealed against unrighteousness. The truth was shown to them, and they remained in their sins. The Jews had all things revealed to them and rejected them for vanity. They make YHWH into their own image. It is a fool that rejects YHWH for man. Man changes the truth of Elohim into a lie by adding and taking away. YHWH allows us to sin. Homosexuality is condemned both in men and women. Every sin condemned in the last five verses comes from Torah. Torah is the authority upon which Romans rests. Those who know the Torah but support people in their sins are cut off from Elohim.

00:00:05 Happy Sabbath, brothers who are in
00:00:07 attendance and sisters who will watch
00:00:10 later.
00:00:11 >> Oh, I will also add happy new year
00:00:14 today.
00:00:14 >> Happy new year. Yes,
00:00:17 we I I hope you have had a those who
00:00:20 have observed this Sabbath day, I hope
00:00:22 you’ve had peace and rest from our Lord
00:00:26 and Savior Yeshua Hamashiach.
00:00:28 Um today we’re going to be going into
00:00:32 Romans. Now Romans is a book that is
00:00:35 viewed by many Christians and probably
00:00:39 rightly so as the
00:00:44 kind of the white handbook to holiness
00:00:46 to use Mormon terminology.
00:00:49 Um,
00:00:51 and what we’re going to do as I as we ex
00:00:55 as we uh this is a another series that
00:00:58 we’re doing that I’m doing
00:01:00 >> to explore um Romans as that white
00:01:05 handbook to holiness in in the from the
00:01:09 perspective of Torah observance.
00:01:13 Um, and I do realize that for a lot of
00:01:15 Christians that’s going to be a stretch
00:01:17 because you have been raised with um,
00:01:21 traditions
00:01:23 that don’t see that cannot equate Torah
00:01:27 with holiness.
00:01:28 >> So I just to add to that,
00:01:30 anti-missionaries also.
00:01:32 >> Yeah. And anti-missionaries. Yes.
00:01:34 >> Uh, which who knows what their motives
00:01:36 are uh, specifically. Um, but if they
00:01:39 actually see an anti-
00:01:42 uh law, they’re they don’t understand
00:01:43 their own law, which actually doesn’t
00:01:46 surprise me to be honest. But anyway,
00:01:48 >> well, I mean, there’s a lot of people
00:01:49 who fail to understand the scriptures
00:01:51 because they don’t read them correctly.
00:01:54 Christians, when they read the
00:01:56 scriptures, they read them as if they
00:01:58 are the story of God’s dealings with
00:02:01 man. And stories, as we know, have a
00:02:04 beginning, middle, and end. And what
00:02:06 matters is what’s at the end, right?
00:02:10 When you’re looking at a story.
00:02:12 >> Well, on that part, that would be the
00:02:14 millennium. And we have a page that we
00:02:16 put together today is Torah in the
00:02:18 millennium. But
00:02:19 >> exactly. But so, but but this is the way
00:02:23 they look at it through the Bible is
00:02:25 okay. We ended without law.
00:02:28 >> Yeah. Yeah. That’s how
00:02:30 >> that’s the way they look at it.
00:02:32 >> Yeah.
00:02:33 Um, and if you’re looking at the Bible
00:02:36 as a story book of God’s dealings with
00:02:39 man,
00:02:41 that seems logical. However, this is not
00:02:44 what the Bible is.
00:02:47 The Bible is the revelation of the mind
00:02:50 and will of an unchanging God to his
00:02:54 people.
00:02:56 >> Do you mean he doesn’t turn to the left
00:02:57 or the right? his ways don’t change
00:03:00 >> or he’s the same yesterday, today, and
00:03:03 tomorrow.
00:03:04 >> So, so we’re whether it doesn’t matter
00:03:08 whether something is revealed in the New
00:03:10 Testament,
00:03:12 >> the Old Testament, the Book of Mormon,
00:03:16 or legitimate revelations that were
00:03:19 received in our day,
00:03:21 >> aka Dr. They all come together as a
00:03:24 revelation to us of that mind and will.
00:03:28 And the more of the revelation that we
00:03:30 can get, the more blessed we are because
00:03:32 we now are given more with which to
00:03:35 understand the mind and will of Yahweh.
00:03:38 So we’re going to look at Romans from
00:03:40 the perspective of Torah observance.
00:03:44 And we’re going to look at it from the
00:03:46 perspective that it is Paul writing down
00:03:51 what has been revealed to him in a of
00:03:54 the mind and will of Yoha in a letter to
00:03:58 saints from Rome who uh who had
00:04:02 questions
00:04:04 and Paul has answers.
00:04:08 Unfortunately, all we have are the
00:04:10 answers. We don’t always have the
00:04:12 questions
00:04:13 >> and that does make it complicated at
00:04:15 times but
00:04:17 >> it’s less complicated when you
00:04:20 understand Yahweh does not contradict
00:04:22 himself. Right.
00:04:23 >> That’s right. So the o so the other
00:04:26 thing that we have here as we go through
00:04:28 this series in Romans just like we have
00:04:30 a series going through Ezekiel too we as
00:04:34 we go through this series in Romans
00:04:37 uh we’re going to be uh we’re going to
00:04:40 be trying because this is a letter we’re
00:04:43 going to be connect we’re going to be
00:04:46 taking what we’ve learned in one chapter
00:04:49 moving to the next chapter and bringing
00:04:51 them bringing it all together as we
00:04:56 Uh, one thing we’ll be reading the new
00:04:58 translation sometimes or more commonly
00:05:00 called the JST or the inspired version.
00:05:04 Now in now in the version that Steven
00:05:06 Ratz is going to pull up here, you can
00:05:09 also see the King James version language
00:05:11 there as well. So that you can and so
00:05:14 you can get a direct comparison
00:05:18 to see which translation better reflects
00:05:22 the revelation of the mind and will of
00:05:25 an unchanging Elohim.
00:05:27 >> Yeah. And uh I don’t make any money off
00:05:30 of these, but you can go get this. It’s
00:05:32 a journal edition of those. Um, so, um,
00:05:37 and you can even get the source code
00:05:38 where I, uh, wrote code to do it. Go
00:05:41 change it if you want. It’s out there in
00:05:44 the public. Uh, one thing I would like
00:05:46 to add real quickly is that the new
00:05:48 translation
00:05:50 is
00:05:52 very pro law or pro Torah. Okay.
00:05:57 Um there the things that Joseph Smith
00:06:00 restored makes it more obvious what’s
00:06:03 going on and it’s not getting rid of
00:06:06 Torah.
00:06:07 >> Mhm.
00:06:08 >> It’s keeping it. Okay. But the more that
00:06:11 you know actually know what Torah
00:06:13 actually is rather than just hearing
00:06:15 people say anti- Torah or or lawlessness
00:06:19 uh out there, it makes a lot more sense.
00:06:22 It really does. Um
00:06:23 >> yeah, when you realize that Torah is the
00:06:25 revelation of the mind and will of
00:06:27 Elohim, then you realize that
00:06:31 when somebody when you when Yahw
00:06:34 condemns someone for to for not
00:06:37 for not walking in the Torah,
00:06:40 it is because they have rejected him.
00:06:43 >> Yeah. And so um the way I like to put it
00:06:47 is it Torah is every word of Yahw.
00:06:49 That’s not a prescribed punishment
00:06:51 because punishments
00:06:53 don’t have to be eternal. They don’t
00:06:54 have to be. Um
00:06:57 >> and even
00:06:58 >> because punishments are punishments are
00:07:00 passed down by a sentence and sentences
00:07:02 always have an expiration date even if
00:07:04 that expiration date is life.
00:07:07 >> Well, actually not not all of them have
00:07:11 because there’s eternity in hell. But
00:07:14 anyways, um they can have an expiration
00:07:19 date is what I would say. But
00:07:21 >> um
00:07:21 >> yeah,
00:07:22 >> but um but in more ones that you receive
00:07:26 from mortals, yes, Ben’s correct on
00:07:28 that. I I’m just being technical Timmy
00:07:30 with uh Ys. Okay.
00:07:33 >> Right.
00:07:33 >> Um
00:07:36 and I forget the other statement, so I
00:07:38 guess it didn’t matter too much.
00:07:40 >> Okay. So, if we could just pull up
00:07:43 Romans chapter 1.
00:07:45 >> Yes, I will do that.
00:07:47 >> Um,
00:07:49 we’re going to we’re going to go through
00:07:50 this. Um,
00:07:53 we’re gonna we could uh I think we’re
00:07:57 going to go through this. Uh, first
00:08:00 we’re going to comp we’re going to have
00:08:02 somebody read a complete idea
00:08:04 >> and then we’re going to go verse by
00:08:06 verse through that idea.
00:08:10 So, if I could have Josh read verses 1
00:08:13 through7. It’s the first sentence of
00:08:16 this letter.
00:08:17 >> All right.
00:08:21 >> Um, how do you want me to read it? You
00:08:23 want me to read it with the JST or do
00:08:25 you want me to read it King James?
00:08:28 >> First, I would like you to read it in
00:08:30 King James and then I want you to read
00:08:33 it in the JST.
00:08:35 >> Okay.
00:08:37 Paul,
00:08:39 a servant of Jesus Christ,
00:08:44 uh, called to be an apostle,
00:08:47 um, and separated
00:08:50 onto the gospel of God or Elohim.
00:08:55 >> Okay. So, this is
00:08:56 >> Oh, sorry. Go ahead. Go ahead. My
00:08:58 >> I thought Yeah, I thought you said to
00:08:59 read through.
00:09:00 >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Go ahead. Sorry.
00:09:01 Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
00:09:02 >> Yep. All right.
00:09:04 uh which he had promised to four by his
00:09:06 prophets in the holy scriptures
00:09:09 concerning his son Jesus Christ our Lord
00:09:13 which was made of the seed of David
00:09:15 according to the flesh and declared to
00:09:18 be the son of God with power according
00:09:21 to the spirit of holiness by the
00:09:24 resurrection from the dead
00:09:27 by whom we have received grace and
00:09:29 apostilhip
00:09:31 or obedience to the faith
00:09:33 among all nations for his name.
00:09:36 Among whom are ye also
00:09:40 the called of Jesus Christ.
00:09:46 To all
00:09:49 in Rome, beloved of God, called to be
00:09:52 saints, grace to you and peace from God
00:09:54 our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
00:09:58 >> Okay, so now let’s go ahead and get that
00:10:00 again. this time in the new translation.
00:10:04 >> All right.
00:10:06 Paul, an apostle, a servant of God,
00:10:11 called of Jesus Christ, and separated to
00:10:14 preach the gospel,
00:10:16 which he had promised before by his
00:10:19 prophets in the holy scriptures,
00:10:21 concerning his son Jesus Christ, our
00:10:24 Lord, which was made of the seed of
00:10:27 David according to the flesh, and
00:10:29 declared the Son of God with power by
00:10:33 the Spirit according to the truth. truth
00:10:36 through the resurrection of the dead.
00:10:40 Big difference there. By whom we have
00:10:42 received grace and apostilhip through
00:10:45 obedience and faith in his name to
00:10:49 preach the gospel among all nations,
00:10:51 among whom ye also are called of Jesus
00:10:56 Christ. Wherefore I write to all who are
00:11:00 in Rome, beloved of God, called saints,
00:11:03 grace to you and peace from God our
00:11:06 father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
00:11:09 >> Okay. So
00:11:11 >> yeah, that that that I want people to
00:11:14 notice how the second reading is much
00:11:17 more specific and much more clear in
00:11:22 many instances.
00:11:24 >> Yes. Um I I also want to bring out how
00:11:27 it’s just it’s a lot more clear and if
00:11:29 nothing else it’s just easier to read.
00:11:32 >> Yes. They he he gets rid of some some of
00:11:36 these stuff some of these changes are
00:11:37 simply getting rid of King James isms.
00:11:40 Um, and a lot of people,
00:11:41 >> well, not all of them, but yeah.
00:11:43 >> Yeah. Some of them are about getting rid
00:11:45 of King James isms. And they, and those
00:11:48 are hard, those are hard for people to
00:11:51 understand, which is one of the reasons
00:11:52 why they even made a new King James
00:11:54 translation, uh, which actually gets rid
00:11:57 of some of those King James isms.
00:11:59 >> Yeah. But I I I I mean, we
00:12:03 some of the verses I’ve seen on it, I
00:12:05 think it’s actually worse than King
00:12:06 James. But anyways, that’s another
00:12:08 subject.
00:12:08 >> Yeah. I I would I would tend to agree.
00:12:11 Uh but you know, it’s one of those
00:12:14 things where when you’re when your basic
00:12:17 intent is to dumb down, you’re going to
00:12:19 well, most of the time you’re going to
00:12:21 achieve your basic intent. Um
00:12:26 >> so,
00:12:28 so although the King James does have
00:12:31 problems, so do modern translations,
00:12:34 >> right? Yeah. Unless the modern
00:12:38 translation is trying to be fairly
00:12:40 faithful to the um
00:12:43 to the original Greek to the original
00:12:46 Greek script, all translations require a
00:12:49 certain amount of dynamic translation to
00:12:51 go with the um to go with the literal
00:12:54 translation.
00:12:54 >> Yeah.
00:12:55 >> Otherwise,
00:12:58 >> it’s impossible for a translator not to
00:13:00 put his um theology into it. Some may do
00:13:03 it more than others, but it’s
00:13:05 impossible.
00:13:06 >> It really is.
00:13:06 >> Oh, yeah.
00:13:08 >> So, but the but the point that I want to
00:13:10 bring out here is how much clearer the
00:13:13 new translation is.
00:13:15 >> Yes.
00:13:15 >> How much more understandable it is.
00:13:17 >> Yeah.
00:13:19 >> Um and how it actually does not it does
00:13:23 not particularly change the intent of
00:13:27 what is actually being communicated
00:13:30 here. it makes it just less easy to
00:13:34 misunderstand
00:13:36 what is actually being communicated.
00:13:39 >> So with that with that general note on
00:13:42 verses 1-7, let’s uh John, if you’ll
00:13:45 read verse one.
00:13:45 >> Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I’m going
00:13:46 to interject. I I do want to say
00:13:48 something about verse two. Uh if that’s
00:13:51 okay. Um because verse two is talking
00:13:54 about how in the scriptures
00:13:56 this time of Paul is prophesied. Well,
00:14:00 yeah. And I actually was going to get
00:14:02 into that when we got into verse two,
00:14:06 >> but if you want to go ahead.
00:14:07 >> Oh, I guess I guess you plan to do that
00:14:10 later, so we’ll do it later then.
00:14:12 >> Yeah,
00:14:14 we’re going at this point. We’re going
00:14:16 verse by verse. Um, so John, if you
00:14:19 could read verse one.
00:14:20 >> Okay. All right. Okay. Verse one. I
00:14:24 think he means verse eight.
00:14:26 >> No, verse one. We’re gonna
00:14:28 >> We’re now doing one by one. We’re now
00:14:30 >> We read through seven. Now he wants to
00:14:32 go verse by verse.
00:14:34 >> Oh, okay. I was
00:14:36 >> You want me to read it as Joseph Smith
00:14:38 translation?
00:14:39 >> Read it in the new read it in the new
00:14:40 translation. We’ve we’ve shown uh we’ve
00:14:44 shown at this point we’ve shown the
00:14:46 value of the new translation. So, we
00:14:47 will continue to read it.
00:14:49 >> Okay. Very good.
00:14:51 Paul, an apostle, a servant of Elohim,
00:14:57 of Yeshua Hamashiach and separated to
00:14:59 preach.
00:15:00 >> Called to be is called of
00:15:04 >> Called of. Yeah, you’re right. Sorry.
00:15:06 >> Yep.
00:15:06 >> Called of Yeshua Hamashiach and
00:15:09 separated to preach the gospel.
00:15:13 >> Okay. So,
00:15:15 Paul, an apostle. What does it mean to
00:15:18 be an apostle?
00:15:20 Ascent one as sent out actually to be
00:15:23 spe more specific to sent out one.
00:15:27 >> Yes. The Hebrew word is shalia.
00:15:31 The sent one. The ambassador.
00:15:35 An apostle is an ambassador of the
00:15:37 kingdom of heaven.
00:15:38 >> Yeah. An ambassadors don’t stay in their
00:15:40 own kingdom.
00:15:42 >> That’s right.
00:15:44 They’re in fact
00:15:45 >> they visit every once in a while.
00:15:47 >> Well, of course they can visit, but for
00:15:50 the most part
00:15:50 >> their job I if you are called if you’re
00:15:53 in the United States if you are sent as
00:15:56 an ambassador to Egypt your job is in
00:15:59 Egypt.
00:15:59 >> Oh no I agree.
00:16:02 >> But this does go against how most
00:16:08 >> most who claim to be apostles even in
00:16:11 the church I grew up in LDS Brigamite
00:16:13 and among other ones also goes against
00:16:16 what they actually do. Mhm.
00:16:20 >> Apostles are Okay. And if you could if
00:16:23 you could call if you I think it’s in
00:16:25 the Doctrine and Covenants. Apostles are
00:16:28 not called to strengthen the church.
00:16:30 They’re called to establish the church.
00:16:34 >> Do you have a verse in mind?
00:16:36 >> Um
00:16:39 >> so I’m going to pause for a second.
00:16:41 >> Yeah.
00:16:46 >> Okay. Okay. So, the in reference
00:16:49 here’s that um here’s a reference to
00:16:52 what the what the twel apostles are
00:16:54 supposed to be doing. Um and this is in
00:16:58 Doctrine and Covenant section 1127. More
00:17:01 it’s a reference to what they’re not
00:17:02 supposed to be doing and which is
00:17:05 supporting of what I said that the
00:17:08 apostles are to are to establish the
00:17:11 church in new areas. They’re not to uh
00:17:15 they’re not to worry about the affairs
00:17:17 of the church that’s already
00:17:19 established.
00:17:20 >> In addition, I’ll just add this for some
00:17:22 clarification.
00:17:24 Once they establish a branch, I said
00:17:27 that on purpose because Ward is nowhere
00:17:30 in the DNC. Um we’ll just leave it at
00:17:32 that. Once they establish a branch, they
00:17:36 move on.
00:17:37 >> Yeah.
00:17:39 So there therefore see to it that ye
00:17:42 trouble not yourselves concerning the
00:17:44 affairs of my church in this place.
00:17:47 Where is this place? This is given in if
00:17:51 you could go to the top here.
00:17:52 >> I’ll go to the top.
00:17:54 Um
00:17:56 this was in Kirtland, Ohio, which was
00:17:58 the current headquarters of the church.
00:18:01 So they were not to concern themselves
00:18:04 with the affairs of the church in
00:18:06 wellestablished areas. Yeah, they they
00:18:09 are to build up Zion in places where
00:18:13 Zion or the church was not already
00:18:16 there.
00:18:17 >> Right.
00:18:19 >> So, so let’s go to Doctrine of Covenants
00:18:21 107.
00:18:22 >> Okay.
00:18:26 And that is 10733 through35.
00:18:30 >> Yep.
00:18:31 >> Uh so there we go.
00:18:33 >> Okay. The 12 are a traveling presiding
00:18:36 high.
00:18:37 >> Wait, what? What is traveling? What?
00:18:40 >> Yeah, they’re they’re they are
00:18:42 ambassadors.
00:18:44 Ambassadors
00:18:45 don’t stay home.
00:18:47 >> You mean like sent ones?
00:18:50 >> Yes. Shut up.
00:18:52 >> Yes.
00:18:52 >> Oh god. It’s funny how things work
00:18:56 together actually.
00:18:57 >> Missionaries.
00:18:59 >> Yes. They are a traveling presiding high
00:19:02 council to official.
00:19:04 >> Oh, you mean they’re the head, Josh? Do
00:19:06 you mean they’re the head of the
00:19:07 missionary department of the church and
00:19:10 nothing else?
00:19:12 >> Yeah, that’s what I’m getting at.
00:19:14 >> In in those areas where the church has
00:19:17 not yet been established, they’re they
00:19:19 have they have the duties of headship
00:19:22 until they establish the church.
00:19:24 >> Correct.
00:19:25 >> What
00:19:27 is the same? Is that how they’re the
00:19:30 same as other people in the church?
00:19:32 Because they do it in areas where
00:19:34 they’re not of the church.
00:19:36 Right. So the 12 are a traveling
00:19:38 presiding high council to officiate in
00:19:41 the name of Yah.
00:19:44 They are to officiate in his character
00:19:46 as he officiated. They are not to seek
00:19:49 power unto themselves
00:19:52 under the direction of the presidency of
00:19:54 the church. They are to accept direction
00:19:56 from the presidency of the church. So
00:20:00 they’re both the head
00:20:03 of the church
00:20:04 >> and there’s not a and there’s not a fast
00:20:07 travel from become from becoming an
00:20:10 apostle to becoming the president of the
00:20:13 church. No fast travels here.
00:20:15 >> No, it’s not like and he’s going off
00:20:17 along at least in the brigamite
00:20:19 tradition where um if you just outlive
00:20:22 the apostle before you,
00:20:24 >> you don’t automatically become an
00:20:26 apostle. And I I just just to sidetrack
00:20:29 on that a little bit, I’m going to show
00:20:31 my church government page
00:20:34 >> um because we looked at that to find
00:20:35 these verses. But anyways, there is a
00:20:37 ton here
00:20:41 uh about voting. So here’s scripture
00:20:44 studies summaries of scripture studies
00:20:47 and then above that is uh whole bunch of
00:20:50 verses and quotes about voting including
00:20:54 one from Brigham Young. Uh this one
00:20:57 right here about how Joseph Smith was
00:21:00 the president of the church because of
00:21:02 the voice or vote of the people. Okay.
00:21:05 So, so the so the way this works is that
00:21:10 the way this is supposed to work is that
00:21:13 when is that the first set of people who
00:21:16 are called are off are called through
00:21:19 inspiration
00:21:21 after that callings are extended by the
00:21:25 vote of the body of the church.
00:21:28 >> I I and I I concur with Ben. I do want
00:21:31 to add a little bit and the reason it’s
00:21:33 like this is because the church is not
00:21:36 established. People don’t know what
00:21:38 people’s
00:21:41 skills and talents are yet.
00:21:44 >> And
00:21:44 >> so it needs to be through revelation.
00:21:46 But after it becomes obvious what the
00:21:48 skills
00:21:50 and talents are of the people, the
00:21:52 people will vote for that.
00:21:55 >> Which it I don’t have it here, but you
00:21:57 can see this in Elma 13 also. Yes.
00:22:00 >> Um
00:22:03 >> because what people were pre-trained for
00:22:08 or
00:22:10 prepared for in mortality will come out
00:22:13 in their actions. Okay. So,
00:22:16 >> so there so so there’s that. So let’s go
00:22:20 back to um 107
00:22:25 um
00:22:27 okay under the direction of the
00:22:29 presidency of the church agreeable to
00:22:31 the institution of heaven.
00:22:34 >> Oh wait wait could that be like
00:22:37 that
00:22:39 t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t
00:22:40 t word word Torah.
00:22:42 >> Yeah. uh which is the law of the kingdom
00:22:44 of heaven which is what makes the
00:22:47 kingdom of heaven the institution of
00:22:49 heaven.
00:22:51 >> Yes.
00:22:53 >> So to build up the church. Okay. This is
00:22:56 what they’re to do. They’re to build up
00:22:57 the church and regulate all the affairs
00:23:00 of the same in all nations. First to the
00:23:02 Gentiles and secondly to the Jews. And
00:23:05 the 70 are to act in the name of Ya
00:23:08 under the direction of the 12 or the
00:23:09 traveling high council in building up of
00:23:13 the church.
00:23:14 >> We’ll bring out the first to the
00:23:16 Gentiles. These are not uh those who
00:23:18 were non-believing and especially like
00:23:21 the Jews is a little more obvious but
00:23:24 >> right.
00:23:24 >> Right. But this is bringing out unto the
00:23:27 unbelieving or those who are starting to
00:23:31 believe. Okay.
00:23:32 >> Right. This is this to regulate the
00:23:34 affair. All the affairs are the same in
00:23:36 all in the nations not in Zion.
00:23:40 >> Correct. And that is another good way of
00:23:42 bringing out that point, right?
00:23:46 >> The 70 are to act in the name of Yoha
00:23:48 under the direction of the 12 or the
00:23:50 traveling high council in building up
00:23:51 the church and regulating all the
00:23:53 affairs of the same in all nations.
00:23:55 Again,
00:23:56 >> I want to bring out this or this is
00:23:58 another name for the twel apostles
00:24:01 traveling high council
00:24:04 >> because there’s a non I want I just want
00:24:06 to bring out how there’s a nontraveling
00:24:08 high council and I’ll just There’s a
00:24:10 high council in Zion as well, regulating
00:24:13 all the affairs of the same in all
00:24:15 nations. First to the Gentiles and then
00:24:16 to the Jews. The 12 being sent out.
00:24:20 >> Well, the sent out ones.
00:24:22 >> What?
00:24:23 >> Sent. So outside the church, right? Is
00:24:26 that what that means?
00:24:27 >> Yes. They’re not just preaching to
00:24:29 church members. They’re not just
00:24:32 preaching where they can get their
00:24:34 >> exclusively
00:24:36 as it says in 30 verse 35
00:24:40 first onto the Gentiles, the
00:24:42 unbelievers,
00:24:43 the non-members.
00:24:45 >> Yeah. So Gentiles become Israelites when
00:24:48 they believe and then are adopted into
00:24:53 >> So if so if a so if a member of the 12
00:24:56 happens to be in your ward you can still
00:24:58 extend them the opportunity to speak but
00:25:00 they do not automatically get it
00:25:03 >> right. In fact sorry in your branch.
00:25:05 >> Yeah yeah in your branch. It’s a hard
00:25:07 habit to break. Right. But in fact,
00:25:10 Romans 1 is
00:25:13 >> established church asking apostle what
00:25:16 do the scriptures say about this? So
00:25:19 they can’t help when asked. They cannot
00:25:24 force anything.
00:25:26 >> And you’ll even see that in Acts 15. The
00:25:29 apostles speak. It is James the head
00:25:33 bishop or the first presidency of the
00:25:36 church that makes the decision.
00:25:39 >> Yeah.
00:25:40 >> So the 12 being sent out holding the
00:25:43 keys or having
00:25:46 what
00:25:48 >> we’ve already covered that
00:25:50 >> sent out. Okay.
00:25:51 >> We’ve already covered that.
00:25:53 >> I’m being a dork.
00:25:55 >> Yep. Holding the keys or having the
00:25:58 knowledge
00:26:00 >> of opening the door. We get I I I mean
00:26:03 keys on a map is the knowledge to help
00:26:05 you interpret, right? So,
00:26:08 >> right to open the door by proclamation
00:26:11 of the gospel of Yeshua Hamashiach. In
00:26:14 other words, so they proclaim the good
00:26:16 news
00:26:18 first to the Gentiles and then to the
00:26:21 Jews. But the good news is only good
00:26:24 news when we’re not
00:26:28 discounting the mind and will of the
00:26:30 person who sent the good news.
00:26:32 >> Yeah. As in Yeshua. So the gospel in
00:26:37 itself is a big subject. I’ll just say
00:26:39 this is the good news that Yeshua paid
00:26:41 the price. Right.
00:26:42 >> Right. Right. So this is this is how and
00:26:46 this is the thing is that we receive our
00:26:49 justification when we accept that price
00:26:52 that he paid and accept our
00:26:55 responsibility
00:26:58 to
00:27:00 because he’s paid that price for us
00:27:03 >> we now become his servants.
00:27:06 >> Correct?
00:27:07 >> Yeah. and his bond servants
00:27:13 >> and uh we accept that
00:27:16 and we receive
00:27:19 justification
00:27:21 >> or be uh allowed into Yeshua’s kingdom,
00:27:25 right? I mean it goes by many names and
00:27:27 concepts but it’s
00:27:28 >> so but so that it’s this by this
00:27:31 acceptance uh by this acceptance of that
00:27:35 penalty paid for us we become his bond
00:27:39 servants. Um it’s a interestingly enough
00:27:42 it’s a it’s a bond servitude that frees
00:27:45 us in many ways because without the
00:27:48 knowledge without the knowledge of law
00:27:51 we are not free.
00:27:54 No, in fact, even when you look at the
00:27:57 technicalities of freedom, just just
00:28:01 secular freedom, you’re free by keeping
00:28:03 the law because if you break the law,
00:28:06 you now have punishments which can
00:28:08 include jail time, which but you’re not
00:28:12 free.
00:28:14 >> Yeah. So, so this is this is Paul
00:28:18 reinforcing this idea that he is a
00:28:20 sentout one
00:28:22 >> and separated to preach the gospel of
00:28:25 Elohim.
00:28:26 >> Okay. So,
00:28:26 >> the gospel of Yeshua Hamashiach,
00:28:29 >> you want me?
00:28:30 >> That’s Yeah, that’s what verse one is
00:28:32 all about. He’s show he’s stating his
00:28:36 authority. He’s also stating he’s also
00:28:38 stating when we see that he says that
00:28:40 he’s an apostle right off the bat. We
00:28:43 also see that he’s stating the limits of
00:28:45 his authority.
00:28:48 >> Yeah. As in with the
00:28:51 um
00:28:52 >> separated
00:28:55 >> to preach
00:28:56 >> separated to preach,
00:28:57 >> right?
00:28:58 >> Yeah.
00:28:58 >> Right.
00:29:01 So, Stephen, I know you wanted to do
00:29:04 this one, so go ahead and do first.
00:29:05 >> Well, sure.
00:29:08 But she had uh promises
00:29:11 before by his prophets in the holy
00:29:14 scriptures. Now, um
00:29:19 it is not obvious in the scriptures that
00:29:22 Yahweh wanted um
00:29:25 things taught to the Gentiles. Okay.
00:29:29 >> Mhm. Um, it is in the five books of
00:29:32 Moses though. Um, my favorite example is
00:29:36 with
00:29:38 Jacob and his daughter
00:29:43 Del. No,
00:29:44 >> Dina.
00:29:45 >> Dina. Yeah. Sorry. Is that the D? Right.
00:29:48 Dina and the one of the princes
00:29:52 um that um she kind of
00:29:57 fooled around with.
00:30:01 >> Yeah. They were boyfriend girlfriend.
00:30:03 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:30:04 >> Yeah. They were boyfriend and girlfriend
00:30:05 and they went a little too far. Okay.
00:30:07 >> They were hanky panking.
00:30:10 >> Yes. They were hanky panking which then
00:30:12 there is um they fornicated. Okay.
00:30:17 just it wasn’t rape. It was
00:30:19 >> sexual relations. Yes, it was consensual
00:30:22 sex
00:30:23 >> uh before marriage and then the
00:30:28 consequence of that or
00:30:32 so when you decide to have sex you’re
00:30:35 saying I want to get married. Um okay,
00:30:38 we won’t get into that too much. Um, and
00:30:40 but it does go with the law. And yeah,
00:30:43 anyways, but in consequence of that,
00:30:48 uh, the brothers weren’t so nice.
00:30:52 Okay. They they didn’t realize that, um,
00:30:56 she kind of was part of the process. I
00:30:59 mean, they they’re overprotective
00:31:01 brothers. That’s a normal thing. Okay.
00:31:03 >> Yep.
00:31:04 um and they try and they forced all them
00:31:09 to uh get circumcised. Okay, which at
00:31:13 the time was actually part of the law um
00:31:16 or punishment or sentence that was um
00:31:21 given in JST Genesis
00:31:24 17 if I’m remembering correctly.
00:31:26 Hopefully that’s right. Um
00:31:29 >> it was given to Abraham. Correct.
00:31:31 >> Yeah. Abraham’s seed.
00:31:33 >> Well, group
00:31:36 Yes. his seed and his group because
00:31:39 >> I I would careful with
00:31:42 >> because it was with Isaac’s the group
00:31:45 that Isaac was part of because the
00:31:46 second group I don’t believe had that.
00:31:49 That’s a technicality we’ll not get into
00:31:52 right now. Um because Abraham did marry
00:31:55 after um Sarah died, but yeah, which is
00:31:59 allowable, right? So anyways,
00:32:02 um but when you look in the New
00:32:05 Testament, they
00:32:08 uh the Judizers, now that’s an
00:32:11 interesting word. Judaizers were trying
00:32:12 to push the oral law and circumcision.
00:32:15 Okay.
00:32:16 >> Mhm.
00:32:17 >> Uh and there’s verses for that.
00:32:19 >> Are you uh are are you potentially
00:32:21 talking about Messianic Jews?
00:32:24 >> Uh yeah, that’s what they’re called
00:32:27 today. Yeah. Um
00:32:30 >> um and so
00:32:33 this prophecy that I’m trying to get at
00:32:36 with um
00:32:40 this daughter
00:32:41 >> Dina Dina
00:32:42 >> Dina and this daughter Dina of Jacob
00:32:45 Israel is how she represents the church
00:32:50 and uh the prince I forget his name I’m
00:32:54 sorry I’m not very prepared
00:32:57 Um, he represents the pagans, how they
00:33:01 came together in a marriage.
00:33:05 >> The son of Aimilec, I want to say.
00:33:07 >> No, not the son of Aimilec.
00:33:11 >> Oh, no. Aimilec was something different.
00:33:13 That was Abraham.
00:33:14 >> That was Abraham. Yeah.
00:33:16 >> Yeah. We can look up the name if you
00:33:18 guys are worried about it. I’m not
00:33:19 >> I’m not that
00:33:21 >> I’m worried about the idea personally.
00:33:23 >> Yeah. More the idea is more important.
00:33:25 Let’s keep going. John
00:33:26 >> uh this is the
00:33:29 marriage between the pagans and the
00:33:33 believers which became Christians.
00:33:37 >> Right. Okay. Right.
00:33:39 >> Who actually loved Paul but twisted Paul
00:33:44 more than um in today’s
00:33:47 world in the first century they did
00:33:50 understand Paul better than they do
00:33:53 today. Okay. But there are even a letter
00:33:57 from Peter the head of
00:34:00 >> now there there are there are words in
00:34:03 the prophets which point to um which
00:34:06 point to the preaching to the to um to
00:34:11 uh someone being a light not just to the
00:34:15 Jews but also to the Gentiles into all
00:34:18 the world.
00:34:19 >> Yes. And so in the prophets pattern off
00:34:25 of the mighty and strong one which uh
00:34:27 Paul
00:34:28 >> is a preparer um with John the Baptist
00:34:33 that points to the ultimate preparer,
00:34:35 the mighty and strong one, right?
00:34:38 >> Um so we we’d have to look at some
00:34:41 specifics because I think that’s what’s
00:34:42 going on there.
00:34:44 But but that but I my point is is this
00:34:46 is also a promise of the gospel being
00:34:49 brought to the Gentiles as well.
00:34:51 >> Yeah. Yeah. And and and even on that if
00:34:55 I remember right Genesis
00:34:58 49
00:34:59 with the blessings of the 12 tribes goes
00:35:03 along how Ephraim becomes Gentiles or
00:35:07 mixes in with the Gentiles. I don’t
00:35:09 remember the exact word right now.
00:35:11 He will I will make of you I will make
00:35:14 of you many nations
00:35:16 >> which is the goyam
00:35:19 aka gentiles. Okay. Um and and so it’s
00:35:23 going with along with that also. But it
00:35:26 is prophesied at least in this uh part
00:35:29 with um the daughter that um and it goes
00:35:35 along with the history that’s seen in
00:35:37 the first part of acts and the
00:35:39 judoizers.
00:35:42 >> Um so it is in the scriptures even if
00:35:45 it’s not very obvious. Okay.
00:35:47 >> Yeah. No.
00:35:48 >> So Paul is So Paul’s not Paul’s not uh
00:35:53 Paul’s not making this up.
00:35:55 >> No, he’s not. And Paul,
00:36:00 he loved the law and he loved to see
00:36:04 the deeper meanings of it.
00:36:08 >> Mhm.
00:36:09 and uh translations
00:36:11 and
00:36:13 bad transcriptions have made some things
00:36:16 less obvious of that’s what Paul is
00:36:19 doing where the new translation JST uh
00:36:22 inspired version
00:36:25 helps bring that out uh restore that
00:36:28 thought process back again right so
00:36:31 >> yes
00:36:32 >> but hopefully that helps with some of uh
00:36:34 verse two because otherwise what is he
00:36:37 talking about where’s Is it in the
00:36:38 scriptures?
00:36:39 >> Is he making is he making it up like uh
00:36:41 the like the Christians say Joseph Smith
00:36:43 did all the time?
00:36:45 >> Well, if you don’t understand your
00:36:47 symbolism and and prophetic patterns
00:36:50 that you would you’d have to say.
00:36:53 >> Yeah.
00:36:55 >> Yeah.
00:36:56 >> Yeah. So,
00:36:58 >> yeah.
00:36:59 >> Yeah. So th this is getting to a point
00:37:01 that I make that the Christian that I
00:37:05 often make that the Christians have done
00:37:06 to Paul exactly what the Mormons did to
00:37:08 Joseph Smith.
00:37:10 >> Yes. And I will just add just as the
00:37:13 Christians are apostasy so are the
00:37:15 Mormons who are Christians that the
00:37:17 particular sect are in apostasy also. So
00:37:21 anyways,
00:37:21 >> so Brennan, if you could read verse
00:37:23 three,
00:37:26 >> concern concerning his son Jesus Christ
00:37:29 our Lord, which was made of the seed of
00:37:33 David according to the flesh.
00:37:35 >> Uh this is a juicy scripture right here.
00:37:38 This is a direct reference to the fact
00:37:41 that Yeshua was a mortal man born of
00:37:46 mortal parents according made of the
00:37:49 seed of David according to the flesh.
00:37:52 >> Yeah. So on this just real quick, it
00:37:55 also is bringing out modalism here,
00:37:57 right?
00:37:58 >> The son Yeshua and our Yahweh the father
00:38:04 made of the seed of David. Wait.
00:38:08 Um, re I I mean I might need to go back
00:38:11 to biology, but the seed comes from the
00:38:13 man.
00:38:14 >> Yes.
00:38:15 >> That is sperm.
00:38:16 >> Yep. Oh, really?
00:38:19 >> Yeah. In addition, uh, your tribe is
00:38:22 your father, not your mother. Okay.
00:38:25 Which means he’s got to have a mortal
00:38:28 father. If he if he was not of the seed
00:38:31 of David by his father,
00:38:35 he would not be able to claim he would
00:38:37 not be able
00:38:39 >> to he would not have been believed by
00:38:41 anybody to be the Messiah.
00:38:44 >> Yeah. Yeah. Because and this also goes
00:38:47 with the statement uh
00:38:50 somewhere in 1 Nephi
00:38:53 11-14. I think it’s 11 or 12 uh about oh
00:38:58 uh yes there was a son according to the
00:39:00 flesh.
00:39:02 >> Yeah.
00:39:03 >> Flesh goes along with um
00:39:06 it sex. I’ll just say it.
00:39:08 >> Yeah. Yeah. There’s only one way to have
00:39:11 children according to the flesh.
00:39:14 >> Yeah, it sucks.
00:39:15 >> Well, technically you could I suppose
00:39:16 you could do in vitro, but you know
00:39:18 >> Yeah, they didn’t have that back then
00:39:20 and that’s a perversion, but it Well,
00:39:22 >> yeah.
00:39:23 >> Anyways. Yeah, that’s something
00:39:25 completely different.
00:39:26 >> In addition, for those who think he was
00:39:28 the literal son of Elohim, that’s weird.
00:39:33 But if that’s the case, how is he the
00:39:36 seed of David? There’s a contradiction
00:39:38 there. Also, if you believe him to be
00:39:41 the literal
00:39:43 the the very literal son of God, then
00:39:47 explain to me how God is in favor
00:39:51 of
00:39:53 statutory rape
00:39:56 >> and and adultery. She was adultery to
00:40:00 Joseph
00:40:02 >> because Mary was not
00:40:05 Mary was of an age that now we would
00:40:08 consider it statutory rape. What sex
00:40:12 with her?
00:40:14 >> Well, her age I think is debatable. Um,
00:40:17 >> right. But I’m talking about in the
00:40:19 class what how she’s classically talked
00:40:22 about.
00:40:23 >> Yeah. Yeah. She’s classically talked
00:40:24 about. Yes, I do agree with that. But
00:40:26 that definitely is not what I believe. I
00:40:29 think she was of age 20 Hebrew or Greek
00:40:31 19.
00:40:32 >> To more of a point though,
00:40:34 >> how can you justify
00:40:37 >> adultery
00:40:39 a a a god who breaks his own
00:40:42 commandments?
00:40:43 >> Yeah. Yeah. Cuz she was engaged to
00:40:46 Joseph.
00:40:47 >> That would have been adultery.
00:40:49 >> That would have been adultery
00:40:51 >> if it’s according to how Christians put
00:40:54 it. um which it’s not maiden
00:40:58 uh is I’m sure
00:41:01 >> the word alma the word alma
00:41:03 >> word alma which is woman of childbearing
00:41:07 age
00:41:09 >> I have a resource page on it we’ll leave
00:41:11 it at that
00:41:12 >> so um so that so that is verse three is
00:41:16 a really is a really solid declaration
00:41:20 by Paul that Yeshua was made the son was
00:41:25 made of the seed of David
00:41:29 by sex.
00:41:30 >> Yeah. And and there is a new translation
00:41:33 actually that it’s on the Alma page that
00:41:37 shows how she was not a Greek virgin.
00:41:40 >> Okay. Yeah. I’ll just leave it at that.
00:41:43 >> Okay. Um and Andrew verse four.
00:41:48 >> All right. One second.
00:41:52 and declared
00:41:55 the son of God with power
00:41:59 by the spirit
00:42:01 according to the truth through the
00:42:03 resurrection from the dead.
00:42:06 Okay. So he is declared or it is made
00:42:10 clear that he is the son of God, the son
00:42:13 of Elohim with power.
00:42:17 How is it made clear?
00:42:20 through the spirit of truth.
00:42:24 The spirit of truth
00:42:27 when we read in Doctrine of Covenant
00:42:28 section 84, if you could bring that up,
00:42:31 Stephen.
00:42:32 >> Yep, I will do that.
00:42:47 section 84. And if we just go to
00:42:51 >> verse um 34,
00:42:56 I think.
00:43:02 Uh
00:43:03 >> okay. So, we’re going to pause.
00:43:04 >> Okay. So, I’m a little No, wait. Wait,
00:43:06 wait.
00:43:07 >> Okay.
00:43:08 >> Yeah. Go down. pause and listen.
00:43:12 So in Doctrine and Covenant section 84
00:43:15 verse 44 he’s so we found in Romans that
00:43:18 he is declared the son of God. It’s made
00:43:20 clear that he’s the son of God with
00:43:22 power according to the spirit of truth.
00:43:25 So let’s examine what the spirit of
00:43:26 truth is. Doctrine of covenant section
00:43:28 84
00:43:30 uh verses 44 through 46.
00:43:37 For you shall live by every word that
00:43:40 proceedth forth from the mouth of
00:43:41 Elohim.
00:43:42 >> Oh, so like you should keep Torah.
00:43:45 >> Yes.
00:43:46 >> Okay.
00:43:47 >> For the word of Yah is truth, and
00:43:50 whatsoever is truth is light, and
00:43:52 whatsoever is light is spirit, even the
00:43:54 spirit of Yeshua Hamashiach. And the
00:43:57 spirit
00:43:58 >> I I just I I know I’m being rude, but um
00:44:02 one of the definitions of spirit is
00:44:04 behavior. And I there we have a page
00:44:09 where Torah is light as defined by Old
00:44:13 Testament and New Testament.
00:44:15 >> And another and another
00:44:16 >> Yep. Absolutely. And another definition
00:44:19 of spirit is also mind and will.
00:44:22 >> Yeah. Yes. Yeah.
00:44:24 >> So um the mind and will drives our
00:44:27 behavior. There’s the big connection
00:44:30 right there.
00:44:32 >> That which we truly believe in is what
00:44:34 drives our behavior. whatsoever’s
00:44:35 lightest spirit, even the spirit of
00:44:37 Yeshua Hamashiach. So, we need to have
00:44:39 that mind and will if we live by every
00:44:41 word that proceedth forth from the mouth
00:44:42 of Elohim or Torah, we will be possessed
00:44:46 of the spirit of Yeshua Hamashiach
00:44:48 >> or mind will and behavior.
00:44:51 >> Yes. And I I do want to add this because
00:44:52 I know this goes on today a lot.
00:44:56 >> This is not your own truth. This is
00:44:59 Yeshua’s truth. There’s only one Yeshua.
00:45:04 Okay.
00:45:04 >> There is absolutely nothing so
00:45:07 emptyheaded as the idea of relative
00:45:12 truth.
00:45:14 >> That’s just a complete deception to get
00:45:16 you to believe lies. It it there’s only
00:45:19 one truth there. There’s tons of
00:45:21 opinions. Go on the internet. You can
00:45:23 look. There’s only one truth.
00:45:25 >> Everybody every opinions are like
00:45:27 armpits. Everybody’s got them. And if
00:45:29 you don’t wash them up, they stink
00:45:31 really bad.
00:45:33 >> Yes. Yes. H um and also if you don’t use
00:45:36 deodorant. But anyways,
00:45:38 >> yes. And the spirit giveth light to
00:45:40 every man that cometh into the world.
00:45:43 And the spirit enlightenth every man
00:45:45 through.
00:45:46 >> Wait, wait. Is that just some men that
00:45:48 join a particular church?
00:45:50 >> Nope. Every man.
00:45:52 >> So I and I I know I’m interpreting this,
00:45:55 but I would say that’s every adult, but
00:45:58 we don’t have to get in the details of
00:45:59 that. Ben doesn’t want to.
00:46:02 it and that’s fine. Um, that cometh into
00:46:05 the world and the spirit enlighteneth
00:46:07 every man through the world that
00:46:09 hearkeneth to the voice of the spirit.
00:46:12 What spirit? The mind and will and
00:46:16 behavior of Yeshua Hamashiach.
00:46:20 >> Yes. And for if you you’re like him, you
00:46:24 will recognize him.
00:46:26 >> Yeah. So, let’s go back to Romans.
00:46:29 >> Okay.
00:46:30 So this is the spirit of truth that
00:46:33 declare that makes clear that he is the
00:46:36 son as well as the father.
00:46:38 >> Yeah. I I do want to bring out how son
00:46:42 means follower and Elohim or God means
00:46:48 judge. Okay. Or the one that set up the
00:46:51 standard. Everybody wants a leader to
00:46:56 follow their own standard or their own
00:46:59 words or what they say.
00:47:01 >> Yeshua did that.
00:47:05 >> Yes.
00:47:08 And so verse and so if I could have uh
00:47:12 Josh read verse five.
00:47:15 >> Yeah.
00:47:16 by whom we have received grace and
00:47:18 apostilhip through obedience and faith
00:47:21 in his name to preach the gospel among
00:47:25 all nations.
00:47:26 >> So how did he receive how how is it that
00:47:29 we receive grace?
00:47:32 >> Obedience
00:47:33 >> through obedience.
00:47:36 >> And how did he re how did he receive the
00:47:38 calling of apostilhip?
00:47:40 after he was sanctified, which goes
00:47:43 along with the word grace because um
00:47:45 mercy is justification, grace is
00:47:47 sanctification.
00:47:49 >> And and might I also add obedience to
00:47:51 what? Not just obed just sheer unbridled
00:47:55 obedience, but there’s got to be
00:47:56 obedience to the standard which we have
00:47:59 already read in the previous verse. I
00:48:00 just wanted to
00:48:01 >> Yeah. His character
00:48:03 >> faith in his
00:48:06 >> through obedience and faith in his name.
00:48:09 Now, his name is his name. We’re not
00:48:12 talking about saying putting the name of
00:48:14 putting the name of Jesus on Christmas.
00:48:17 >> No, we’re talking about
00:48:20 we are talking about faith in his
00:48:23 character, in his glory, in his
00:48:25 reputation, which can be ours if we are
00:48:32 faithful servants.
00:48:33 >> I I want to bring out how uh faith has
00:48:36 two part trust and diligence. So trust
00:48:38 is the belief and the hope
00:48:41 >> and the diligence is keeping his
00:48:44 >> commandments or his becoming like him.
00:48:46 Right? So
00:48:48 >> this is also a throwback to apostilhip
00:48:51 uh apostles being sent out among all
00:48:55 nations
00:48:56 not as the sitting heads of the church.
00:49:00 >> You mean they they just don’t sit up in
00:49:03 towers inside Zion?
00:49:06 >> No.
00:49:06 >> Yeah.
00:49:08 So assumed as Zion,
00:49:10 >> they don’t just sit up in their ivory
00:49:12 towers, collect your tithing money, and
00:49:14 uh occasionally give self-help messages.
00:49:17 >> Uh or or is it in the high seats or the
00:49:21 Sorry, I’ll I’ll stop now.
00:49:24 >> Okay. So So that is what they’re
00:49:27 supposed to do. They’re supposed to go
00:49:28 out and preach the gospel among Wait a
00:49:30 minute. How many nations? Is it a
00:49:32 limited number of nations? All
00:49:35 >> l all.
00:49:37 >> Yeah. Yeah.
00:49:39 >> I think that’s like a lot. But I I
00:49:43 >> like to make it really simple.
00:49:46 >> It’s like a whole big world, you know.
00:49:48 >> Yeah. Are actually unnumberable to me
00:49:51 because I don’t know how many
00:49:52 >> to make it really simple for everybody.
00:49:56 Oh.
00:50:02 >> So, okay. So, um, John, could you read
00:50:05 verse six?
00:50:08 >> Sure.
00:50:09 Uh, among whom ye also are called of
00:50:14 Yeshua Hamashiach.
00:50:16 >> Oh, what are the members called to do?
00:50:20 >> What is our calling?
00:50:22 Memberships are to
00:50:25 take upon themselves the name which
00:50:29 means
00:50:29 >> and what is the when we talking about
00:50:31 the name are we talking about a talisman
00:50:33 that we can wave around and just
00:50:34 sprinkle on everything and
00:50:36 >> we’re talking about his character.
00:50:38 >> It’s his character. So I actually did
00:50:41 say character but I but that is a good
00:50:43 point that Ben is bringing out right. Uh
00:50:46 you don’t just get to say his name and
00:50:48 everything works out.
00:50:50 >> Yeah. No,
00:50:51 >> not a talisman. This is about
00:50:56 becoming changing
00:50:59 becoming a new creature, not an old
00:51:01 creature with new excuses.
00:51:04 >> Putting off the natural man and becoming
00:51:06 a saint.
00:51:07 >> Yes.
00:51:12 >> Okay. Speaking of which, speaking of
00:51:14 which, Steu, uh, Stephen, can you read
00:51:16 verse seven? Wherefore I write to you
00:51:20 all who are in Rome, beloved of Elohim,
00:51:23 called saints or sanctified ones, grace
00:51:30 >> uh
00:51:31 to you which is given unto the
00:51:34 sanctified ones. Okay, as we talked
00:51:36 about
00:51:38 >> and peace as in um
00:51:41 >> shalom. Shalom or in John uh what is it
00:51:47 16 give or take about how the second
00:51:50 comforter or peace
00:51:53 >> I will say uh when you know what you’re
00:51:56 doing what Yahweh actually la wants you
00:52:00 to do you have
00:52:01 >> does bring peace yeah
00:52:03 >> so that’s sanctification
00:52:06 >> you are doing what Yahweh wants you to
00:52:08 do
00:52:09 >> that whole idea of shalom speaks s to
00:52:12 sanctification.
00:52:14 Yes. Um
00:52:17 from Elohim our father aka leader and
00:52:22 Yahweh
00:52:24 who is who is Yeshua the Messiah. I know
00:52:28 I had worse but that sue me.
00:52:30 >> Yeah. Well
00:52:32 well I mean it was it was justifi it was
00:52:35 justifiable given that it’s the Lord
00:52:37 there. So yeah.
00:52:39 >> Anyway,
00:52:41 >> um so so this is this is b this is a
00:52:44 reference to modalism here right at the
00:52:46 very end whenever it says that ya is
00:52:49 Yeshua Hamashiach uh
00:52:52 >> that’s a reference to the two modes of
00:52:55 Yah the father and the son.
00:52:57 >> Yeah. And um the Greek I mean we could
00:53:00 look I just know this uh I’ve I’ve
00:53:04 looked it up the Greek word behind and
00:53:06 can also mean even which goes with
00:53:10 modalism. So
00:53:12 >> yep.
00:53:13 >> Yep. Okay.
00:53:14 >> Okay. So let’s see. I think it’s
00:53:17 Brennan’s turn. Can you read 8 through
00:53:20 10 to give us the whole idea?
00:53:24 Uh, first I thank my God through Jesus
00:53:27 Christ.
00:53:27 >> Actually, no, just read verse eight
00:53:29 because that’s a singular idea there.
00:53:31 >> First I
00:53:34 >> First I thank my God through Jesus
00:53:36 Christ that you all are steadfast and
00:53:39 that your faith is spoken of throughout
00:53:42 the world.
00:53:43 >> Okay. So, so what does he mean when he
00:53:46 says when he calls them steadfast and
00:53:48 that their faith is spoken of throughout
00:53:50 the world?
00:53:53 uh that they are enduring to the end,
00:53:55 they are being obedient or diligent
00:53:59 >> as a portion of faith, right?
00:54:02 >> And that their examples are going um to
00:54:06 help convert people throughout the
00:54:08 world.
00:54:09 >> So what can so what can we learn from
00:54:11 this?
00:54:13 Um
00:54:16 >> so lectures on faith 256
00:54:19 brings out how um the faithful ones
00:54:24 um I don’t remember the exact words but
00:54:27 it’s along the lines the faithful ones
00:54:29 who are keeping Yahweh’s ways gives
00:54:31 encouragement
00:54:34 for others to do the same because they
00:54:37 see things in other people that they
00:54:41 themselves want like perhaps the peace
00:54:45 that we talked about.
00:54:48 >> Yeah.
00:54:50 >> Which which always which uh even in
00:54:54 those instances where maybe you have a
00:54:57 little bit of worry today if you can get
00:55:00 through it that peace will always come
00:55:02 back to you.
00:55:03 >> Well, I do have another idea.
00:55:06 um this idea of being that end sign that
00:55:11 is or that that example,
00:55:13 >> okay,
00:55:14 >> that shines to the world.
00:55:16 >> Why is it that Yahw
00:55:20 there’s a reason why Yahw tells the
00:55:22 children of Israel to do things in a
00:55:26 prescribed manner, aka with the with a
00:55:29 lot of the high holidays and the feast
00:55:32 days. is so that they can when the time
00:55:35 comes like especially during the
00:55:37 Passover he’s like
00:55:39 the son when your sons come to you and
00:55:42 they say and they ask why do we do these
00:55:45 things
00:55:47 >> and it is because Yah
00:55:52 told us to do it this way we are being
00:55:54 obedient to the commandments of Yah it
00:55:57 is that it is just shining that example
00:56:02 Yah told us to do it. We’re doing it
00:56:06 come, you know, pardon the expression,
00:56:08 hell or high water. We’re going to do it
00:56:12 because Yahw told us to
00:56:14 >> I would add just because that’s how we
00:56:16 get delivered.
00:56:18 >> That’s true.
00:56:19 >> And that and that’s the other it’s
00:56:21 remembrance. It’s all in remembrance of
00:56:24 Yahw’s hand in their lives.
00:56:27 >> Yeah. And I sorry I’m going to interrupt
00:56:30 just a little bit more. Ben Moroni 10
00:56:32 3-5 famous passage. Part of it is to
00:56:36 remember the mercy.
00:56:38 >> Mhm.
00:56:40 >> Absolutely.
00:56:42 >> We part of the reason we need to look
00:56:44 back is to see the mercy. And this is
00:56:47 even true with the Exodus here. Okay.
00:56:49 That which is what uh John’s talking
00:56:51 about here. He did it for others.
00:56:55 He’ll do it for us.
00:56:57 Yeah. And that’s really and it’s really
00:57:00 important to this is the importance of
00:57:03 believing in the ongoing validity of all
00:57:06 of the word because there’s lots of us
00:57:10 who are really good at connecting cause
00:57:12 and effect and not and therefore
00:57:17 um
00:57:21 therefore our belief in miracles often
00:57:24 has to be supplemented by what we read
00:57:27 in the scripture.
00:57:30 by what we read in the word because we
00:57:33 can see natural cause and effect for
00:57:36 most of the for many of the things that
00:57:39 people call miraculous.
00:57:42 >> Yeah. I I I will add to that what a lot
00:57:44 of people claim is uh miracles today are
00:57:47 really not I I’ll leave it at that.
00:57:50 >> Yeah.
00:57:52 So let’s
00:57:52 >> to give a funny real quick to give a
00:57:54 funny example.
00:57:58 There was a comedian that I saw,
00:58:01 his name is uh Russell Peters, and he he
00:58:05 remembers this one time he was in an
00:58:07 airport,
00:58:09 and this really dsy teenager walks up to
00:58:12 a pregnant lady and points at her
00:58:14 stomach and goes, “That’s a miracle.”
00:58:21 >> No, it’s not a miracle. It is a
00:58:23 biological a natural biological
00:58:27 process.
00:58:29 You had the intercourse to make the
00:58:31 baby. It is not a miracle.
00:58:36 >> Yeah. Miracles take faith. Um people
00:58:40 commit adultery and a fornication all
00:58:43 the time which is contrary to faith.
00:58:46 >> Correct.
00:58:46 >> Yeah.
00:58:47 So my point is
00:58:50 there if there is a natural process that
00:58:52 can explain why things happened, it is
00:58:56 not a miracle.
00:58:59 >> Uh and one miracle that uh that is not
00:59:04 provable is Yeshua walking upon water.
00:59:07 >> Correct.
00:59:09 >> But
00:59:09 >> yep. You cannot find
00:59:11 >> you cannot find a natural process that
00:59:13 explains that away.
00:59:14 >> No. I trust me, I’ve tried to walk on
00:59:18 water, it doesn’t work.
00:59:19 >> Well, even when m so-called magicians do
00:59:22 it. We’re not going to get into that
00:59:24 subject. It’s under very controlled
00:59:26 circumstances in a very uh small
00:59:30 distance under good weather. You go read
00:59:34 Yeshua walking upon the water, it’s none
00:59:37 of that. We’ll see.
00:59:38 >> Yeah, it’s an absolutely uncontrolled
00:59:40 circumstance. So Andrew, let’s get back
00:59:43 to Romans here real quick. If Andrew
00:59:45 could read verses nine and 10.
00:59:48 >> Sure. One second here.
00:59:52 For God is my witness whom I serve
00:59:56 that without ceasing I make mention of
00:59:59 you always in my prayers that you may be
01:00:02 kept through the spirit the gospel of
01:00:05 his son.
01:00:07 making request of you to remember me in
01:00:10 your prayers. I now write you unto you
01:00:14 that you will ask him in faith that if
01:00:19 by any means at length I may serve you
01:00:22 with my labors and may have a prosperous
01:00:26 journey by the will of God to come unto
01:00:29 you.
01:00:30 >> Okay. So here we have some significant
01:00:33 additions
01:00:34 in the uh new translation
01:00:38 which make this much more clear that he
01:00:40 is asking for their prayers.
01:00:44 Um and this is something that true
01:00:47 apostles
01:00:49 um should be able to ask for from the
01:00:51 membership
01:00:53 um that for the prayer of faith
01:00:58 >> just apostles just anybody. Um but
01:01:02 >> we we should pray for the leaders and
01:01:04 the apostles are the leaders of the
01:01:07 missionary arm of the church.
01:01:11 But I
01:01:13 >> but I also I also want to look at the
01:01:16 fact what he wants them to pray for
01:01:20 that you may ask him in faith that if by
01:01:25 any means at length I may serve you.
01:01:29 >> Wait uh serve and control are different
01:01:33 right?
01:01:35 Oh yes. Uh very very differently
01:01:38 polar polar opposites really. But
01:01:41 >> okay I I wanted to double check. Sorry.
01:01:44 >> And uh and of course the idea of the
01:01:47 prosperous journey but I do I think the
01:01:49 more important thing is something that’s
01:01:52 restored in the new translation that I
01:01:55 may serve you.
01:01:58 >> Yes.
01:01:58 >> My labors
01:02:01 >> or or my works, right? or my feelings,
01:02:04 my my hand.
01:02:06 >> I do my fruits. There’s lots of things
01:02:09 for it, right?
01:02:11 >> Fruit.
01:02:13 >> And I do like
01:02:15 >> Well, go ahead, Ben.
01:02:17 >> I just said I like fruit.
01:02:18 >> Yeah. Yeah, they’re tasty. um like uh
01:02:22 the ones according to Torah anyways. But
01:02:24 on the will uh I do want to bring up
01:02:28 that how we could possibly um substitute
01:02:32 plan
01:02:34 in the will here, right?
01:02:37 >> Yeah.
01:02:38 >> And will goes with Torah, but Torah has
01:02:40 multiple aspects more than just the
01:02:42 commandments. One is the his plan. Okay.
01:02:46 >> Yep.
01:02:47 And I also want to take bring note to
01:02:51 what Paul prays for them
01:02:55 that you may be kept through the spirit
01:02:58 in the gospel of his son.
01:03:01 Kept through the spirit in the gospel of
01:03:04 his son. We cannot stay in the gospel
01:03:07 without the spirit. The spirit is the
01:03:09 mind and will of Elohim and its
01:03:10 revelation is Torah.
01:03:12 >> Yes.
01:03:14 uh which defines what is holy which
01:03:17 tells us how to behave.
01:03:20 >> Yep. Yep.
01:03:21 >> As Yahweh who is Yeshua actually did
01:03:25 behave. Right.
01:03:26 >> So why is it
01:03:27 >> and then turned around and said and told
01:03:29 us to behave like he behaved. So now as
01:03:33 a point of general discussion here, why
01:03:35 is it that we cannot stay in the gospel
01:03:38 of Yeshua
01:03:40 >> except through the Torah?
01:03:44 Uh well, first of all, Torah is the Holy
01:03:47 Spirit behavior that testifies of the
01:03:50 son and the father. as when you look and
01:03:54 actually study his words, it talks about
01:03:57 those different modes and their
01:04:00 character aka how they behave.
01:04:05 Um, so I if we’re if we want to be in
01:04:10 the gospel, the so and we’ve talked
01:04:14 about this before, uh, but the fullness
01:04:16 of the gospel is to become like Yeshua,
01:04:19 which is sanctification.
01:04:21 If you’re not going in that direction,
01:04:23 you’re getting out of the spirit, not
01:04:27 working with or through the spirit
01:04:30 behavior.
01:04:31 >> Could you could you bring up Doctrine of
01:04:33 Covenant section 88:34 for me?
01:04:35 >> Yes, I will do that.
01:04:41 8834.
01:04:44 Okay, there you go.
01:04:46 88, not 84. Oh yeah, there is a little
01:04:50 difference. There’s one digit
01:04:51 difference. Sorry about that.
01:04:55 >> Three, four. What’s the difference?
01:04:57 >> Yeah, it’s just one digit.
01:05:00 >> Yeah.
01:05:01 And again, verily I say unto you, that
01:05:04 which is governed
01:05:06 by law, we choose to follow the law, we
01:05:09 are governed by it,
01:05:12 is also preserv.
01:05:19 >> Yeah, that law is Torah. Yes. Uh that
01:05:22 which is governed by Torah is also
01:05:25 preserved by Torah and perfected and
01:05:27 sanctified by the same. This is why we
01:05:30 are kept in the gospel through the
01:05:33 spirit. The mind and will of Elohim
01:05:37 which is which is revelation is Torah.
01:05:41 We this it because we cannot be
01:05:45 perfected and sanctified. Read in verse
01:05:47 35. that which breakketh a law and
01:05:50 abideth not by law, but seeketh to
01:05:52 become a law unto itself, and puts all
01:05:54 kinds of uh puts all kinds of hedges
01:05:56 around the law, and does all kinds of
01:05:58 really crazy things, and will to abide
01:06:01 with their own personal commandments.
01:06:03 >> Uh yeah. Uh um you’re not to add or take
01:06:06 away from the law or Torah as these
01:06:09 people do. And because they do that,
01:06:12 they will desireth to abide in sin.
01:06:16 They’re just their sins
01:06:18 >> and and because they will and desire to
01:06:20 abide in their sins which they call the
01:06:22 law,
01:06:24 they altogether abide in sin.
01:06:27 >> Therefore, they cannot be sanctified
01:06:31 by law, by Torah
01:06:34 or by mercy,
01:06:36 >> which is part of Torah,
01:06:38 >> either by mercy,
01:06:40 >> justice,
01:06:41 >> which is part of Torah.
01:06:43 So if you do not remain in the spirit
01:06:46 which is the revelation of to of which
01:06:49 Torah is its revelation
01:06:52 you cannot
01:06:55 be sanctified.
01:06:56 >> Yeah. And and I I will add uh just in
01:06:59 case Ben just forgot. Therefore they
01:07:01 will remain filthy wicked sinners still
01:07:06 >> remain
01:07:08 >> for eternity.
01:07:10 >> Yeah. Um,
01:07:13 and so here’s the thing and the and so
01:07:16 this is the thing is that mankind is not
01:07:20 basically good regardless of what your
01:07:22 Greek philosopher will tell you.
01:07:27 >> Yeah.
01:07:28 >> Mankind, the heart of man is desperately
01:07:31 wicked.
01:07:32 >> Yeah.
01:07:33 >> And deceitful.
01:07:34 >> Jeremiah, right?
01:07:36 >> We cannot
01:07:38 we cannot trust our own hearts. This is
01:07:41 why the word is so important
01:07:44 and what is actually there, not what we
01:07:47 want to be there. Because now we’re
01:07:49 trusting in our hearts over the word.
01:07:51 >> Yeah. We are supposed to trust in
01:07:54 Yahweh, not our own ideas that pop in
01:07:58 our heads,
01:07:59 >> not lean onto our own understanding.
01:08:01 Right.
01:08:02 >> Yeah. And throughout the scriptures, Old
01:08:04 Testament and Book of Mormon, DNC,
01:08:08 um, and
01:08:11 They all say go by the written word of
01:08:14 Yahw not our
01:08:17 thoughts and ideas.
01:08:19 >> You had something to add, John.
01:08:21 >> Perfect idiom. Yah knows my heart.
01:08:25 >> Yes, he knows he does deceptively
01:08:28 wicked.
01:08:29 >> Yeah.
01:08:30 >> And wicked.
01:08:32 >> No, sir. You are the idiom.
01:08:36 >> You are the idiom.
01:08:39 And just there’s one that talks about
01:08:42 how the Gentiles have inherited lies
01:08:45 from their fathers. Um
01:08:47 >> yes,
01:08:47 >> it is Gentiles that are saying this. I
01:08:49 could look at the verse if Ben wants me
01:08:51 to, but
01:08:52 >> um but uh yeah. So uh let’s actually go
01:08:56 back to Romans here. So this is but but
01:08:58 I think we’ve covered this point well
01:09:00 enough. This is why this is why you have
01:09:05 to stay. This is why Paul prays that
01:09:08 they may be kept through the spirit of
01:09:10 which Torah is the revelation
01:09:13 in the gospel so that they will be
01:09:15 sanctified.
01:09:17 He wants them to be saints.
01:09:20 Yeah.
01:09:21 >> He desperately wants them to be saints.
01:09:24 No, Moses sought to sanctify his people
01:09:28 >> or be saint sanctified
01:09:32 saints.
01:09:34 Do
01:09:34 >> those together?
01:09:38 Well, they might.
01:09:39 >> Okay. So,
01:09:40 >> there’s a chance.
01:09:42 >> Yeah.
01:09:43 >> So, Josh, could you read 11 and 12
01:09:45 there? That’s a complete idea here.
01:09:47 >> Sure. For I long long to see you, that I
01:09:53 may impart unto you some spiritual gift,
01:09:56 that it may be established in you to the
01:09:59 end, that I may be comforted together
01:10:02 with you by the mutual faith both of you
01:10:06 and me. Oh, is that reference to how we
01:10:09 strengthen each other?
01:10:12 >> And we are to strengthen each other.
01:10:15 >> Yeah. I I
01:10:16 >> Go ahead, Ben. I love that thing right
01:10:18 at the very beginning. I long to see
01:10:21 you.
01:10:23 >> Well,
01:10:25 he he
01:10:27 Paul loves the people.
01:10:29 >> Yeah.
01:10:31 >> And true love helps people to improve
01:10:36 and that’s and and thus become like
01:10:38 Yeshua. And that’s how that’s calling.
01:10:44 >> And I and we’ll find out um we’ll find
01:10:47 out as we go through the book of Romans
01:10:49 what this spiritual gift is that he
01:10:52 wishes to impart to them. Okay.
01:10:57 So,
01:10:58 >> so
01:10:59 >> I do want to bring out that goes along
01:11:01 with receiving peace by keeping the Holy
01:11:04 Spirit, the holy behavior, which it it
01:11:08 does give you peace and comfort when you
01:11:10 when you know what you’re doing is
01:11:12 right.
01:11:14 >> It does bring
01:11:15 >> actually know and not just think, you
01:11:17 know,
01:11:20 >> it gives you peace. It really does.
01:11:23 >> Yeah. even if it’s hard because there’s
01:11:26 a difference between something being
01:11:27 hard and you being peace.
01:11:32 >> Yeah.
01:11:32 >> At it or with it.
01:11:35 >> For instance, for instance, right now um
01:11:39 right now there are many things about
01:11:41 living Torah that are made hard by our
01:11:44 world. But as you as you
01:11:48 figure it out, you can have peace.
01:11:54 As you figure out how to keep that Torah
01:11:58 come, as John put it, hell or high water
01:12:03 >> because the world will send hell at you
01:12:06 >> and high water.
01:12:11 >> When you attempt to keep Torah, the
01:12:12 world will send hell at you.
01:12:15 >> So,
01:12:16 >> especially when you attempt to help
01:12:18 other people keep Torah.
01:12:21 So, I I don’t know. Uh, but the high
01:12:24 water sure makes me think of Moses going
01:12:27 through the water or the chaos.
01:12:30 >> Yeah.
01:12:31 >> I I wonder if the phrase ties back to
01:12:33 that, but that’s a whole another
01:12:36 >> Yeah, it’s something completely
01:12:37 different. Yes. But
01:12:39 >> okay, so yes, John, can you read verse
01:12:42 13?
01:12:44 >> Sure. Sure. Now I would not have you
01:12:49 ignorant brethren that often times I
01:12:52 purposed to come onto you,
01:12:55 but hindered hitherto but was hindered
01:12:58 hitherto that I might have some fruit
01:13:01 among you also even as among other
01:13:04 Gentiles.
01:13:06 So, so he so he wanted to be he he
01:13:10 wanted to share the gospel in Rome as he
01:13:12 shared it in other places.
01:13:15 >> Uh but hindered sometimes it was um as
01:13:19 in he’s like pray for me to come here
01:13:22 sometimes I was not allowed to as I
01:13:24 wanted to. Right.
01:13:26 >> Right. Right. Right. Right.
01:13:28 >> So let’s go down.
01:13:29 >> It’s like he’s saying life happens even
01:13:31 to apostles.
01:13:33 >> Oh yeah. Oh, so you so you mean that um
01:13:37 life that um that um authority in the
01:13:42 kingdom doesn’t come with a life made
01:13:43 easy card?
01:13:45 >> Oh, no. It comes with a button. You just
01:13:48 push the easy button.
01:13:49 >> Oh, it’s the easy button. Yeah, it’s not
01:13:51 a card. It’s a button.
01:13:52 >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
01:13:54 >> I You need to send me one, Josh, because
01:13:56 I haven’t got mine yet.
01:13:58 >> Yeah.
01:13:59 >> I I Yeah, I wish I had an easy button.
01:14:02 Um
01:14:04 I think we all wish we had an easy
01:14:06 button.
01:14:07 >> I I would agree with that. So, let’s
01:14:10 look here at um So, Brandon, if you
01:14:13 could read verse 14.
01:14:17 >> I am debtor both to the Greeks and to
01:14:19 the barbarians, both to the wise and to
01:14:22 the unwise.
01:14:23 >> So, what is he talking about here?
01:14:26 I am a debtor both to the Greeks and to
01:14:28 the barbarians.
01:14:29 >> They helped the
01:14:31 >> Yeah.
01:14:31 >> Other people helped him. Yeah, that’s
01:14:34 literally all it’s saying here.
01:14:36 >> It’s not saying that he’s borrowing
01:14:38 ideas from all these people.
01:14:41 >> No, literally.
01:14:42 >> Or he took loans cuz
01:14:45 >> Yeah,
01:14:45 >> that’s another subject. But uh people
01:14:48 helped him.
01:14:50 >> Yeah,
01:14:50 >> right.
01:14:51 >> And he feels indebted to them because
01:14:53 they helped him. That’s always
01:14:55 >> Yep.
01:14:57 Okay. Andrew, verse 15.
01:15:01 >> Coming. Let’s see. Verse 15.
01:15:05 And as much as in me is, I am ready to
01:15:10 preach the gospel to you that are at
01:15:12 Rome also.
01:15:15 There you go.
01:15:18 Because because of that sense of
01:15:20 indebtedness that he feels,
01:15:23 he’s ready to preach the gospel.
01:15:27 >> Yeah. And so this somewhat goes along
01:15:29 with how um preachers will go
01:15:34 to where they know they are wanted. If
01:15:39 >> if they’re completely rejected, made fun
01:15:41 of, belittled, so on and so forth, guess
01:15:44 what? They’re not going to do much
01:15:45 preaching.
01:15:47 >> No, they’re not.
01:15:49 >> And and and and that is just a human
01:15:52 thing. That’s not even that’s not even a
01:15:56 that’s a human thing. Who wants to spend
01:15:57 time with people who are gonna treat
01:15:59 them like crap?
01:16:00 >> Well, yeah. Well, that’s you.
01:16:01 >> You might get extra You might get You
01:16:03 might get extra food
01:16:06 >> when they throw stuff at you.
01:16:07 >> Yeah. In the old days.
01:16:09 >> In the old days.
01:16:11 >> You don’t want to eat that food. Let me
01:16:12 tell you.
01:16:13 >> That’s what I was going to say.
01:16:15 >> That is human nature. And it also is
01:16:19 according to the plan, too. For example,
01:16:22 12 9 through 11 is my favorite for that,
01:16:24 but there’s others.
01:16:25 >> Yeah. Let’s actually look up Alma 12 9
01:16:28 through11 real quick.
01:16:29 >> Oh, okay. All right.
01:16:46 >> Okay.
01:16:48 >> Whoops. Uh and now Elma began to expound
01:16:51 these things unto him, saying, and him
01:16:54 is uh Zazram,
01:16:56 it is given to many to know the
01:16:58 mysteries of Elohim.
01:17:00 Nevertheless, they are laid under a
01:17:02 strict command that they shall not
01:17:03 impart,
01:17:05 only according to the portion of his
01:17:08 word, which he doth grant unto the
01:17:10 children of men. So, we’re to preach
01:17:12 according to the scriptures,
01:17:14 >> according to the heen diligence which
01:17:16 they give unto him. We’re not supposed
01:17:17 to preach these mysteries that aren’t in
01:17:19 the scriptures. We’re supposed to preach
01:17:21 >> Yeah. or or I’m going to add to this
01:17:23 where people There’s tons of people out
01:17:26 there that claim to know so-called
01:17:29 mysteries,
01:17:30 >> right?
01:17:31 >> Um that they’ll preach according to
01:17:35 their false understandings, but when
01:17:38 asked about the word of Yahw that they
01:17:41 actually received for it, they’re like,
01:17:44 “Oh, I can’t share that.” Well, the real
01:17:47 mystery sacred, but yet they’re teaching
01:17:49 the idea. So if the is Yahweh’s actually
01:17:52 word is too sacred to share, why are you
01:17:56 teaching that idea?
01:17:58 >> Well, the mystery is where they can find
01:18:01 it in the scriptures. That’s
01:18:05 >> valid. Valid.
01:18:06 >> Okay. Valid. I I stand corrected. Thank
01:18:09 you, Andrew. Okay.
01:18:11 >> That’s what I’m here for. And so only
01:18:14 according to the portion of his word
01:18:16 which heath grant unto the children of
01:18:17 men according to the he diligence which
01:18:19 they give unto him. And therefore he
01:18:21 that will harden his heart the same
01:18:23 receiveth the lesser portion of the
01:18:26 word.
01:18:27 Oh wait so if you harden your heart
01:18:30 against Yah’s preachers they’re not
01:18:31 going to preach to you. Oh yeah. or or
01:18:35 even well it’s they may preach a little
01:18:37 bit but it’s less lesser less.
01:18:42 >> So as in they may humor you for little
01:18:45 statements here and there but they’re
01:18:47 not going to do expounding.
01:18:49 >> You’re gonna you’re going to get Torah
01:18:50 light.
01:18:52 >> Yeah. Yeah.
01:18:53 >> And he that will not and he that will
01:18:56 not harden his heart to him is given the
01:18:59 greater portion of the word
01:19:02 >> until it is given to him. Maybe could
01:19:03 that be like actually the preachers
01:19:06 expounding things, helping you to see
01:19:08 the deer depths that goes along with
01:19:12 things,
01:19:13 >> right?
01:19:14 >> Until until it is given unto him to know
01:19:17 the mysteries of God until he know them
01:19:20 in full.
01:19:21 >> Oh, wait, wait.
01:19:23 Is that F or P A R T?
01:19:27 >> That’s F U L.
01:19:30 >> Okay, thank you.
01:19:32 The real the real mysteries of God are a
01:19:35 lot like what Alma expounds in uh
01:19:38 chapter 40.
01:19:39 >> Yeah. The mysteries of Elohim actually
01:19:42 teach of Elohim’s character
01:19:45 >> and and we probably shouldn’t get into
01:19:47 that um because
01:19:48 >> Yeah. Well, that’s another time at just
01:19:51 a few verses already, but anyways.
01:19:53 >> Yeah. And they that will harden their
01:19:55 hearts to them is given the lesser
01:19:57 portion of the word until they know
01:19:59 nothing concerning his mysteries. Uh and
01:20:02 then they are taken captive by the de uh
01:20:05 or then they are taken captive by the
01:20:08 devil and led by his will down to
01:20:10 destruction. Now this is meant what is
01:20:12 meant by the chains of hell. So those
01:20:16 who are disrespectful to Yahw and his
01:20:18 servants
01:20:19 uh
01:20:20 >> and his word because
01:20:22 >> and his word and his word particularly
01:20:25 his word they will receive less and less
01:20:28 and less effort from the servants of
01:20:30 Yahw until they are left to their own
01:20:32 devices and to be taken down to hell.
01:20:36 >> Yeah. Uh um and they actually know
01:20:39 nothing. So when they actually see
01:20:41 Yahweh’s word, they’re not going to
01:20:44 understand it.
01:20:45 >> Nope.
01:20:46 >> Nope.
01:20:47 >> Okay. So back to
01:20:48 >> they will they will proclaim it to be a
01:20:50 bunch of psycho babble.
01:20:53 >> Yeah.
01:20:53 >> And so Yes. Yes. So let’s go back to
01:20:56 Romans.
01:20:58 >> All the while producing their own psycho
01:21:00 babble.
01:21:01 >> Pretty much
01:21:02 >> correct. Yes.
01:21:03 >> Okay. Who was the who was the last one
01:21:04 to read? Oh, I think it’s Stephen’s
01:21:06 turn. I think it’s
01:21:08 >> I I I believe I was the last one. Yeah.
01:21:11 >> Yeah. I think it’s Stephen’s turn here.
01:21:13 So, verse 16 for me.
01:21:15 >> For I am not ashamed. Meaning, he will
01:21:19 stand up for the truth of the gospel,
01:21:22 the good news of the Messiah that he
01:21:25 paid our debt.
01:21:26 >> And he will contend for the faith.
01:21:29 >> Yes. Which is contending for the faith.
01:21:32 Cuz if you’re ashamed, you’re not going
01:21:34 to con uh stand up for what is true. Uh
01:21:38 contending for the faith is standing up
01:21:40 for what is true.
01:21:43 >> Mhm.
01:21:43 >> For it is the power
01:21:46 >> or the gospel of Christ
01:21:48 >> or action doing of Elohim unto salvation
01:21:53 to bring people into the kingdom to
01:21:56 receive uh baptism of fire,
01:21:58 justification.
01:22:00 Um,
01:22:02 everyone that believeth, now this is not
01:22:05 Greek believe, this is Hebrew believe
01:22:09 which has actions attached to it which
01:22:12 goes along with faith, trust and
01:22:14 diligence. Okay. Um,
01:22:17 >> for and you know if I really there’s an
01:22:20 example that I like to use a lot. It’s a
01:22:22 really silly example but it’s a it I
01:22:25 think it works. If I really believe, if
01:22:28 somebody told me
01:22:30 that my house was going to sink into the
01:22:32 earth because an earthquake, because a
01:22:34 fault line, a long dormant fault line
01:22:36 was going to open up underneath my
01:22:38 house, I would get everything out of my
01:22:40 house and my family and I would leave.
01:22:42 If I truly believed that, that’s what I
01:22:44 would do. I would act on it.
01:22:46 >> Yeah. Real belief causes action as
01:22:49 lectures on faith one actually brings
01:22:51 out where this uh it brings out how
01:22:56 Greeks
01:22:59 are all in the mind. They’re not about
01:23:01 action or behavior or changes. They’re
01:23:04 all about just ideas and you believe an
01:23:06 idea, you’re fine. But that does not
01:23:09 work in real life as Ben brought out
01:23:12 with the earthquake. Silly idea, but
01:23:14 it’s very valid silly idea, right?
01:23:17 >> Yeah, exactly. So, and so who is who is
01:23:22 this message to? Stephen, if you can
01:23:24 finish that up real quick.
01:23:25 >> To everyone. So, this goes along with
01:23:28 some prophetic things and we’ll just say
01:23:31 initially it was to the Hebrews, Jews.
01:23:34 Jews is an overloaded term here and here
01:23:37 I think it would be better to say the
01:23:39 Hebrews or the Israelites. and then also
01:23:43 to the Greeks or the world. Okay? Cuz
01:23:46 the Greek was the world at the time that
01:23:48 this letter was written just like
01:23:51 English is the world today. Okay? So it
01:23:55 it you got to take some cultural context
01:23:58 into account here and some prophecy uh
01:24:02 aspects right there also. So but
01:24:05 ultimately it’s to everyone, right?
01:24:07 >> Yeah. Ultimately.
01:24:09 >> Yeah. So, uh, Josh verse 17,
01:24:14 >> for therein is the righteousness of
01:24:16 Elohim revealed
01:24:18 through faith on his name. As it is
01:24:21 written, the just shall live by faith.
01:24:25 >> Oh, this is a this is a beautiful
01:24:27 example of why you need to understand
01:24:29 Torah in order to understand this
01:24:31 perfectly. Um,
01:24:34 for what for where in what what is the
01:24:37 righteousness of God revealed in the
01:24:40 gospel of Yeshua?
01:24:42 And I want to uh bring out here
01:24:46 as it is
01:24:49 written.
01:24:51 >> Yeah. As it’s written. a as in um and
01:24:55 I’m I’m just going to get into some
01:24:56 things how it was written because
01:24:59 there’s been some trans posing errors
01:25:02 and also translation errors as it was
01:25:06 written by the authors not as has
01:25:08 translators messed it up at times.
01:25:11 >> No, now in context he’s about to say
01:25:15 he’s about to say what was written here.
01:25:17 The just shall live by faith.
01:25:19 >> Right. Right. And but faith is trust and
01:25:22 diligence. Um yes do the written word. I
01:25:27 I I
01:25:28 >> And who are the just?
01:25:31 >> The just are those who live by Torah.
01:25:35 >> Yeah. To be just is to live by the law.
01:25:38 And the law is Torah.
01:25:41 So
01:25:46 in order to understand this correctly,
01:25:48 you have to understand that it’s not
01:25:49 faith versus works.
01:25:53 It’s faith shown through works.
01:25:58 >> Yeah. That goes with the Hebrews 11:1.
01:26:01 And also James, what was it? 15.
01:26:05 >> Yep.
01:26:06 >> I think.
01:26:07 >> Yes. James 15. Yes.
01:26:09 >> Mhm. So, so, so what? So, basically the
01:26:16 all of Christianity has misunderstood
01:26:19 this point. They teach that the just
01:26:21 shall live by faith, i.e. whatever it is
01:26:25 that they choose to set their heart on
01:26:27 or something.
01:26:28 >> Yeah. Well, this where this is the Greek
01:26:31 idea of belief as a just believe it. You
01:26:34 don’t have to do anything,
01:26:36 >> right? coming in
01:26:37 >> the Greek philosophy that um
01:26:41 the Christian church fathers who would
01:26:45 actually be excommunicated today even in
01:26:47 Christian so-called Christian churches
01:26:51 uh twisted
01:26:54 >> ideas concepts upon these Hebrew ideas
01:26:58 here that is
01:27:03 >> confused the world.
01:27:05 >> Yep. Right.
01:27:06 >> And so when it says
01:27:09 >> y so that just that attribute of being
01:27:13 just is not something that
01:27:17 is is is something that
01:27:21 we have to take an active part in being
01:27:24 just.
01:27:26 >> We have to take an active part in our
01:27:29 faith.
01:27:31 The idea that faith just that that um
01:27:36 the idea that you are either elected
01:27:41 to have faith or not have faith and you
01:27:43 have no choice in the matter is a lie
01:27:46 from Satan.
01:27:49 >> Can I do 18, Ben? I’m sorry.
01:27:52 >> Yes, you may. For the wrath of Elohim,
01:27:56 I mean I I I don’t want the wrath is
01:28:00 revealed from heaven as in um
01:28:04 like Peter in Acts two or the mighty
01:28:09 strong one and Aaron his religious
01:28:12 helper in Revelations 11
01:28:15 against all the ungodly, the unlawful or
01:28:19 un Yeah, unlawful uneous,
01:28:21 >> the wicked, the sinners, ers unrighteous
01:28:25 of men who love not the truth but remain
01:28:29 in unrighteousness. This goes against so
01:28:32 many Christian apologists that just say
01:28:34 you just have to believe
01:28:36 >> here in Romans very clearly even without
01:28:40 the JST or new translation as it’s
01:28:44 Yahweh called it uh some habits are hard
01:28:46 to die um
01:28:51 in unrighteousness if you remain in
01:28:54 unrighteousness you will receive some
01:28:57 degree of wrath depending on your degree
01:29:00 of unrighteousness.
01:29:03 >> Yeah.
01:29:03 >> So, so here’s something that a lot of u
01:29:07 that a lot of Christians will actually
01:29:10 say about this verse.
01:29:14 They will say that the Torah is the
01:29:16 ungodliness and the unrighteousness of
01:29:18 men that will cause the wrath of God to
01:29:21 fall upon them. Is the Torah a
01:29:23 commandment of men?
01:29:26 >> No. Well, I I I just I don’t even see
01:29:29 how they get any basis for that
01:29:31 statement. I’m sorry, but I just I I
01:29:33 have to put that out there. I I
01:29:35 >> Yeah.
01:29:37 >> Is the Torah a commandment of men?
01:29:39 >> No.
01:29:40 >> No. It came from Yahweh,
01:29:42 >> right? So,
01:29:44 >> unless you think the scriptures are just
01:29:46 completely uttery,
01:29:49 >> unless you are a dut unless you’re a
01:29:50 Deuteronomist.
01:29:52 >> Well, you’d have to be an Exodus or I
01:29:54 don’t know how to
01:29:55 >> an Exodus. Yeah. I don’t think you, man.
01:29:58 I I couldn’t think how to say that.
01:30:00 >> You’d have to be an Exodusist.
01:30:04 >> Yeah. You’d have to be all of my books
01:30:06 of Moses. It’s like it I can’t say it.
01:30:08 >> Well, the Deuteronomist the the
01:30:10 Deuteronomist
01:30:12 the Deuteronomist theory is a part of
01:30:14 the documentary hypothesis. And the
01:30:17 documentary hypothesis is that the books
01:30:20 of Moses were compiled over time by
01:30:22 different authors from different time
01:30:24 periods. And so those people who hold to
01:30:28 the documentary theory would it it makes
01:30:32 it very makes it makes it very easy for
01:30:35 them to see to decide that these are the
01:30:37 commandments of men.
01:30:39 >> Well, but the problem I just want to add
01:30:42 Yeshua quoted those books that they’re
01:30:44 saying,
01:30:44 >> right?
01:30:46 >> And what did he quote those books to
01:30:48 side with the devil or to defeat the
01:30:50 devil?
01:30:52 >> Uh let me think. Uh my vague memory of
01:30:56 his time in the 40 days of fasting in
01:31:00 the wilderness, it was to defeat the
01:31:03 devil. I mean, we could go and double
01:31:05 check, but I think that’s pretty
01:31:07 >> I think that’s I think that’s pretty I
01:31:09 actually think that’s pretty well known
01:31:10 to most people.
01:31:12 >> Yeah, I tend to agree. So, I’m being a
01:31:15 little facicious here.
01:31:17 >> So, also Stephen, since you wanted to do
01:31:19 18, let’s let’s have you read verse 19,
01:31:21 too.
01:31:21 >> Sure. after that which may be known of
01:31:25 Elohim is manifest to them.
01:31:28 >> Oh,
01:31:30 they loved they loved No, actually
01:31:33 because the periods after 19 uh they
01:31:35 loved the truth and they remained in
01:31:37 unrighteousness after
01:31:41 that which could be known was shown to
01:31:44 them. Right? A and I’m also going to go
01:31:47 along with how uh Torah unrefined. Okay.
01:31:53 Um spirit of Christ, spirit of the
01:31:55 Messiah, behavior of the Messiah is
01:31:58 given to all adults.
01:32:02 >> But they they they know what’s right and
01:32:03 wrong. In fact, everybody complains when
01:32:05 someone does it wrong to them that they
01:32:07 just know it’s wrong.
01:32:10 Right? How do they just know it’s wrong?
01:32:13 >> Right? So the thing is to say to state
01:32:18 that one is unrighteous when they do
01:32:20 unrighteous things
01:32:22 is not an unfair judgment.
01:32:24 >> No. And actually
01:32:26 >> and it is not an unjust judgment.
01:32:28 >> Yeah. And even the new translation of
01:32:32 Matthew 7:1 actually brings out uh it’s
01:32:35 according
01:32:37 righteous judgment should be done. And
01:32:40 even without the new translation, just
01:32:42 go down a couple verses. It talks about
01:32:44 how you should do righteous
01:32:47 without the Joseph Smith correcting the
01:32:49 Bible. It’s there in addition to the
01:32:52 letter later letters by the apostles
01:32:55 teach it too. I should I go on? It’s in
01:32:58 the book.
01:32:58 >> Yeah, it’s all
01:33:00 it’s all right there. It’s all right
01:33:02 there. So, so the it and so the truth of
01:33:06 the matter is
01:33:08 the person who would be a disciple of
01:33:11 Christ is without excuse. This is stuff
01:33:14 that can be known. And if you choose to
01:33:18 continue in your sins, when you have
01:33:21 this stuff before you, you are a vessel
01:33:24 of wrath. I do not want it to be so.
01:33:28 >> Yeah. And I will add, even if you’re not
01:33:30 a disciple of Yeshua, there is still no
01:33:33 excuse. But it’s worse for those who
01:33:36 claim to have taken upon his name, his
01:33:39 character, and go around in vain,
01:33:43 >> right?
01:33:44 Uh and you know it’s uh that’s also um
01:33:49 you can also in there you can also begin
01:33:52 to see the condemnation also of those
01:33:55 who profess themselves to be teachers
01:33:57 among the Jews the Pharisees etc etc
01:34:02 >> because they had the scriptures they
01:34:04 understood the scriptures and they
01:34:07 taught against the Messiah.
01:34:09 >> Yeah. And in addition to that, what I
01:34:11 like to call sermon on Torah, what most
01:34:13 call sermon on the mount, um the
01:34:15 Pharisees are specifically called out in
01:34:17 that particular version that was given
01:34:20 in Matthew 5 through7.
01:34:22 >> Yep.
01:34:24 >> So let’s see. I think it is uh
01:34:29 is it John’s turn now?
01:34:34 >> Sure.
01:34:35 >> Okay. John, can you read 20 and 21?
01:34:38 >> Okay. So, uh, beginning for Elohim,
01:34:42 >> for Elohim hath revealed.
01:34:44 >> Gotcha. No, I just wanted to. Okay. Mhm.
01:34:47 >> For Elohim
01:34:49 revealed unto them the invisible things
01:34:52 of him from the creation of the world,
01:34:55 which are clearly seen, things which are
01:34:57 not seen, being understood by the things
01:35:01 that are made through his eternal power
01:35:05 and godhead, so that they are without
01:35:08 excuse. Because that when they knew
01:35:12 Elohim, they glorified him not as
01:35:15 Elohim. Neither were they thankful, but
01:35:19 became vain in their imaginations,
01:35:23 and their foolish hearts were darkened.
01:35:27 And this is actually a straight
01:35:30 condemnation of the Jews because they
01:35:34 had re they had had these things
01:35:36 revealed to them. they had not been
01:35:38 revealed to the that that they had not
01:35:40 revealed to the Gentiles and they had
01:35:44 rejected their Messiah.
01:35:46 >> So there were things revealed to uh
01:35:48 outside the Hebrews. Um
01:35:50 >> yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah.
01:35:52 >> Is
01:35:54 because of the righteousnesses Abraham
01:35:57 though we are either literal descendants
01:36:01 or adopted into his line. But I do want
01:36:04 to bring out how the invisible things of
01:36:07 him, Elohim, is his words. You can’t
01:36:10 >> Yes,
01:36:10 >> we’re looking at the words right now,
01:36:12 but that’s because we wrote them down.
01:36:15 But it to help support that is being
01:36:18 understood.
01:36:20 >> Yes,
01:36:21 >> you understand words.
01:36:23 >> Yep.
01:36:24 >> Okay. Or or concepts, ideas.
01:36:27 Okay. or maybe lines and principles also
01:36:31 as they have put it, right?
01:36:33 >> Yeah.
01:36:34 >> Yep.
01:36:35 >> Um
01:36:36 principles are not something you see
01:36:39 unless they’ve been written down but
01:36:41 they are to be understood such that we
01:36:45 become like him.
01:36:46 >> Okay. So when you and I agree with all
01:36:49 of that. Now when you understand that
01:36:52 Paul his background was as a Pharisee
01:36:58 and he understood
01:37:00 as a Pharisee that the Jews were those
01:37:04 who knew Elohim and the Gentiles were
01:37:08 those who did not. That was his
01:37:10 understanding from his background.
01:37:11 >> Oh yeah. Yeah. considering
01:37:13 >> and so this is why you can see that this
01:37:16 is that this is also a clear
01:37:18 condemnation of those Jews who have not
01:37:21 accepted Yeshua.
01:37:22 >> Oh yeah, I agree with that. There is the
01:37:24 general and specific. That’s that’s all.
01:37:27 Right. Because yes,
01:37:29 >> they’re both important to to keep in
01:37:32 mind, right? The general and the
01:37:33 specific. So, and the specific can
01:37:36 actually be applied out in a general
01:37:38 way. When we have the knowledge of
01:37:42 Elohim
01:37:44 and we reject him,
01:37:48 then we become vessels of wrath.
01:37:50 >> Yeah. And then also unforgivable.
01:37:53 >> Yeah.
01:37:55 >> Which Oh, wait a minute. that just
01:37:57 definitely goes along with the third
01:37:58 division of
01:38:00 >> so you know it’s re it’s really easy to
01:38:03 read these last few verses of Romans in
01:38:06 a very judgmental way towards other
01:38:07 people but I do think that we are best
01:38:11 served in many instances to become
01:38:13 self-reflective
01:38:15 >> yes in fact in generally speaking
01:38:20 um it is better to be self-reflective
01:38:22 than accusatory right
01:38:24 >> right
01:38:25 >> generally speak
01:38:26 There there’s a place for
01:38:27 >> I mean unless you want to be unless you
01:38:29 want to be like Satan the great accuser
01:38:30 then then you can do whatever you like.
01:38:32 >> Well, you got to be careful with that
01:38:34 because we are to call out wickedness.
01:38:36 So,
01:38:36 >> of course. Yes.
01:38:38 >> Well, there’s a difference between
01:38:40 calling out wickedness that you see and
01:38:42 just generally accusing. Um
01:38:44 >> Oh, valid point. Valid point.
01:38:46 >> So, yeah. Uh let’s see. John just read,
01:38:51 right?
01:38:51 >> Mhm.
01:38:53 >> Okay. Brennan verses 22 and 23 please.
01:38:58 >> Professing themselves to be wise, they
01:39:01 became fools and changed the glory of
01:39:04 the uncorruptible God into an image made
01:39:07 like corruptible man and to birds and
01:39:09 for-footed beasts and creeping things.
01:39:13 Okay. So, so this is talking about
01:39:18 um again in reference to Paul’s specific
01:39:22 experience here.
01:39:24 This is talking about how the Pharisees
01:39:27 became fools and how they used their uh
01:39:32 hedge around the law to change the glory
01:39:35 of an uncorruptible Elohim into an image
01:39:39 made like the corruptible men.
01:39:41 >> Yeah. And he’s also calling them fools.
01:39:44 This is historical. Okay, we got to be
01:39:47 careful with this. He’s bringing out how
01:39:49 they rejected Elohim. Yahweh Elohim
01:39:52 because they actually did reject Yahweh
01:39:55 Elohim who is Yeshua
01:39:58 and murdered him actually.
01:40:00 >> Yeah.
01:40:01 And they tried to take Elohim and say,
01:40:05 “Oh, you just have these
01:40:08 weird unscriptural ideas to you, corrupt
01:40:12 men’s of ideas.” When there are the ones
01:40:14 that had the ideas of men to them,
01:40:17 >> right?
01:40:20 So, um, Andrew 24 and 20 24 and 25,
01:40:27 >> wherefore God also gave them up to
01:40:31 uncleanness through the lusts of their
01:40:34 own hearts to dishonor their own bodies
01:40:37 between themselves,
01:40:39 who changed the truth of God into a lie,
01:40:44 and worshiped and served the creature
01:40:47 more than the creator.
01:40:49 who is blessed forever. Amen.
01:40:52 >> Verse 25 is so powerful to me.
01:40:57 Who changed the truth of Elohim, the
01:41:00 Torah, into a lie
01:41:04 through adding it adding to it or
01:41:08 later as Christianity would do by taking
01:41:10 away from it.
01:41:12 >> Well, okay. So I do want to say this
01:41:15 both Jews and Christians add and take
01:41:18 away,
01:41:19 >> right?
01:41:19 >> Um
01:41:21 Jews do more adding than taking away and
01:41:24 Christians do more taking away than
01:41:27 adding. But
01:41:31 >> yeah, the funny thing is is so much of
01:41:33 some the Jews add so much that what they
01:41:36 add takes away.
01:41:38 >> Yeah. which actually goes along with
01:41:40 what’s brought out in uh Mark 7, if I
01:41:43 remember correctly, how Yeshua told the
01:41:46 Pharisees who are
01:41:49 the leaders of the Orthodox Jews that
01:41:52 they make Torah null and void, right?
01:41:55 >> Um
01:41:57 >> and it’s because of their lusts.
01:42:00 >> Yep.
01:42:01 >> Is what goes on in 24 that they did
01:42:03 this.
01:42:04 >> Yeah. They they wanted to do wickedness
01:42:06 but make it look like righteousness.
01:42:09 >> Yes.
01:42:10 >> Which still goes on today.
01:42:12 >> Yeah.
01:42:14 >> 100%.
01:42:16 >> Which goes along with Isaiah 8, they do
01:42:18 it because there’s no light aka Torah in
01:42:21 them.
01:42:23 >> Yep. If it is not to the law and the
01:42:26 testimony and if it is not to these
01:42:28 things, it is because there is no light
01:42:30 in them.
01:42:32 Verse
01:42:34 uh 26 and 27, Stephen. Yeah. For this
01:42:38 cause Elohim gave up to vile affections.
01:42:41 Okay. So I this is in the other one and
01:42:43 I forgot to mention it but gave up. He
01:42:45 allowed them to do what they wanted to
01:42:47 do.
01:42:48 >> He g he gave agency. He allowed it to
01:42:51 happen. Okay.
01:42:52 >> Yeah.
01:42:53 >> For even their women did change the
01:42:56 natural use into that which is against
01:42:58 nature. Okay. So I do want to talk about
01:43:00 this a little bit. This is a little
01:43:02 weird. Um, there are verses in the New
01:43:06 Testament that talks, I’m sorry, Old
01:43:09 Testament, the five books of Moses, that
01:43:11 talk about how men should not have sex
01:43:13 with men.
01:43:16 There is none that I know of how women
01:43:18 should not have sex with women.
01:43:21 But here is Paul bringing out how it’s
01:43:24 for the women also here. Okay.
01:43:27 >> The reason Oh, go ahead, Ben. And the
01:43:29 reason why that’s significant is because
01:43:32 Paul was
01:43:34 one of the brightest students of Torah
01:43:37 of his age.
01:43:39 >> Yes, exactly. He understood it and he
01:43:42 probably had it
01:43:45 all if not most memorized. I I I don’t I
01:43:49 have I I have principles and ideas and
01:43:51 you ask ask these people that here that
01:43:54 a lot of times uh someone else has to go
01:43:56 find out where it is. Yeah,
01:43:59 >> I don’t know. I I I have some memorized
01:44:02 as you guys see here. But as you learn
01:44:04 more and more and more,
01:44:07 >> I am not a rope memorizer. Okay. I I I
01:44:10 I’m more concerned about the line and
01:44:13 the principle. But anyways, more what
01:44:15 I’m getting, the reason I brought this
01:44:16 out is how adultery also applies to men
01:44:21 and women, not just women.
01:44:24 >> Yes.
01:44:25 >> Right. Or men either, but Yes. Well,
01:44:28 yeah, because it’s just adult. Yeah, it
01:44:32 applies to both. And so maybe I didn’t
01:44:34 the best.
01:44:35 >> Adulterers are to be killed.
01:44:37 >> Yes. Men and women as the law actually
01:44:40 states says in uh which is uh talked
01:44:44 about in the teaching that Andrew led on
01:44:49 the woman caught in adultery. We’ll add
01:44:50 a link to
01:44:52 >> um
01:44:53 >> it’s applied to both. Just as um
01:44:58 men not having sex with men is only in
01:45:00 the five books of Moses, it is
01:45:02 understood it’s both. So is adultery.
01:45:06 Okay? And that includes polygamy
01:45:11 which comes from the depths of hell from
01:45:13 Satan himself.
01:45:15 >> Okay?
01:45:16 >> All right. So I’ll go to 25 now. Sorry
01:45:18 about that. Go ahead and read verse 27,
01:45:20 too.
01:45:21 >> Oh, we’re in. Sorry, I guess I forgot.
01:45:24 >> You You read verse 26.
01:45:26 >> Okay.
01:45:26 >> Verse 27’s a part of that.
01:45:28 >> Okay. And likewise also the men leaving
01:45:31 the natural use of women burned in their
01:45:33 lust towards one. Okay. So, this is
01:45:35 talking about gay sex,
01:45:37 >> right?
01:45:38 >> It’s wrong. So, here it is in it’s in
01:45:40 the Old Testament and here it is in the
01:45:42 New Testament. I know some people claim
01:45:44 otherwise, but there it is. it.
01:45:46 >> It doesn’t have the word because that
01:45:48 word’s been perverted, but it’s got the
01:45:51 concept there.
01:45:53 >> Men with men working which that is
01:45:55 unseemly in receiving in themselves the
01:45:59 recompense of their error which was met.
01:46:03 Yeah. Uh LBT
01:46:06 plus and all the other alphabets are
01:46:08 wrong.
01:46:09 >> Mhm.
01:46:10 >> Yeah. Very very wrong.
01:46:13 >> Okay. So when you’re
01:46:16 I’m sorry. It’s a sin. You need to
01:46:19 repent.
01:46:21 >> Um,
01:46:23 you weren’t born that way. You made a
01:46:26 choice.
01:46:28 >> Yeah.
01:46:30 >> Or, you know, and so you need to uh you
01:46:34 but you can repent and you can turn your
01:46:37 life over to Elohim and he can uh and he
01:46:41 can make he can make right that which is
01:46:45 that which is broken in you.
01:46:47 >> Correct.
01:46:50 >> Okay.
01:46:54 So, let’s uh so if I could have um Josh
01:46:59 read the last five verses and we’re
01:47:02 going to go into these these lists of
01:47:04 this list of sins and we’re going to
01:47:07 show from Torah where Paul got these
01:47:13 things.
01:47:15 Okay.
01:47:17 And even as they did not like to retain
01:47:21 Elohim, according to some knowledge,
01:47:24 uh God Elohim gave them over to a
01:47:27 reprobate mind to do those things which
01:47:31 are not convenient,
01:47:34 being filled with all unrighteousness,
01:47:38 fornication,
01:47:39 wickedness,
01:47:41 covetousness,
01:47:42 maliciousness,
01:47:44 full of envy, murder, debate, deceit,
01:47:49 malignity, whisperers,
01:47:52 backbiters, haters of Elohim,
01:47:56 despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors
01:48:01 of evil things, disobedient to parents,
01:48:06 without understanding,
01:48:08 covenant breakers without natural
01:48:10 affection, implacable,
01:48:13 unmerciful.
01:48:16 And some who, knowing the judgment of
01:48:18 Elohim,
01:48:20 that they which commit such things are
01:48:23 worthy of death, are inexcusable,
01:48:26 not only do the same, but have pleasure
01:48:29 in them that do them. Yesesh. So this
01:48:33 this last verse, first off, this last
01:48:35 vers’s condemnation
01:48:37 is talking about those who know the
01:48:40 judgments of Elohim. They know the
01:48:42 Torah.
01:48:45 But they like it anyway. But they like
01:48:47 their
01:48:49 >> Yeah. And they not only
01:48:51 >> take pleasure in their wickedness.
01:48:53 >> Yeah.
01:48:54 >> And other And they are glad that other
01:48:56 people are sinning.
01:48:58 >> Yep.
01:49:00 >> Would that also include people who
01:49:01 support who support openly support
01:49:04 people in their sins?
01:49:06 >> Yes.
01:49:08 >> Knowingly, right? As they know.
01:49:11 >> Here’s the thing. Here’s the key verse
01:49:14 here, right? Or key words in the verse.
01:49:16 Knowing the judgment of Elohim.
01:49:19 >> Yeah. So, they have to know it’s a sin
01:49:21 to be qualified for 32. It’s a sin
01:49:24 either way, but to be part of 32, they
01:49:26 have to know it’s a sin. Right.
01:49:28 >> Yeah. That they which commit such things
01:49:30 are worthy of death.
01:49:33 These people who know the judgments of
01:49:35 Elohim are inexcusable, but they do the
01:49:38 same as those who are committing these
01:49:40 sins, but have ple and have pleasure in
01:49:43 them that do them.
01:49:46 >> Yeah, that but’s probably a bad
01:49:47 translation and especially in today’s
01:49:49 modern English. But anyways,
01:49:51 >> but I guess my point would be like
01:49:57 if I mean I I don’t know how you can be
01:50:00 reading the Bible and not understand
01:50:03 that you know, for example,
01:50:04 homosexuality is a bad thing.
01:50:08 >> Uh they skip verses or they twist and or
01:50:11 twist verses. There’s just
01:50:14 >> Oh, and they and then they mix and match
01:50:15 verses, too.
01:50:17 Yeah, because it the ones I read
01:50:20 describe it, right? So there’s
01:50:23 >> like Romans one doesn’t leave a whole
01:50:26 lot of uh room for doubt.
01:50:30 >> No.
01:50:30 >> Yeah. Yeah.
01:50:32 >> All right. So, let’s get into this list
01:50:34 here. We’ll start with unrighteousness.
01:50:36 Since that covers all sin, I figured I
01:50:39 would look in some look at some of the
01:50:42 uh Torah commands that uh Torah commands
01:50:45 that are not um more well-known. Let’s
01:50:49 go to
01:50:50 >> Well, well, I just before we go look, I
01:50:53 just want to say that is in general just
01:50:55 the first division, right?
01:50:58 >> First division. So, but with that, I’ll
01:51:00 go uh probably go get the other app up,
01:51:03 right?
01:51:04 >> Yep.
01:51:05 >> Okay.
01:51:06 Let’s look at Exodus chapter 22 verse
01:51:09 21.
01:51:10 >> Exodus 22.
01:51:16 >> You know, is that like 67? Sorry, I’m
01:51:23 >> thou shalt
01:51:25 >> thou shalt neither vex a stranger nor
01:51:27 oppress him, for you were strangers in
01:51:28 the land of Egypt. This is don’t
01:51:32 oppress.
01:51:33 >> Yeah. And and and in my personal
01:51:36 opinion, and this would go on the sixth
01:51:39 division, have mercy.
01:51:41 >> Mhm. Yeah. Uh but can you see how if
01:51:45 you’re going around being oppressive or
01:51:48 uh if you’re going around being
01:51:50 oppressive, then you are and vexing the
01:51:52 stranger for their uh lack of knowledge.
01:51:57 Can you see how that is wickedness?
01:52:00 >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. because uh part of
01:52:02 righteousness an integral part of Torah
01:52:05 is mercy which is in the sixth division
01:52:08 and also uh how um then just uh the
01:52:13 Lord’s prayer that’s
01:52:15 >> Lord’s prayer have mercy says that you
01:52:18 will receive mercy
01:52:20 >> right so then there’s also
01:52:23 another command against another form of
01:52:26 unrighteousness let’s take a look at
01:52:27 Leviticus 19:15
01:52:30 Okay.
01:52:35 >> You said 19, right?
01:52:36 >> Mhm.
01:52:39 >> 17.
01:52:41 >> 15.
01:52:42 >> 15. Okay, there we go.
01:52:43 >> You shall do no unrighteousness and
01:52:45 judgment. Thou shalt not respect the
01:52:47 person of the poor, nor honor the person
01:52:49 of the mighty, but in righteousness
01:52:51 shalt thou judge thy neighbor.
01:52:55 >> Righteous judgment. Unrighteous judgment
01:52:59 is
01:53:01 literally unrighteousness.
01:53:04 >> So is this like saying don’t be
01:53:06 respectctor of persons?
01:53:08 >> Yeah.
01:53:09 >> Oh
01:53:10 >> yeah.
01:53:11 >> Okay.
01:53:12 >> You could say that could be what it’s
01:53:14 saying. Yeah.
01:53:16 >> Yeah.
01:53:18 I’m kidding. I know that’s exactly what
01:53:19 it’s saying. Don’t be
01:53:21 >> um
01:53:21 >> Yeah.
01:53:23 other words.
01:53:26 >> And so let’s let’s flesh that out a
01:53:28 little more. How does being a respector
01:53:30 of persons in judgment
01:53:33 >> um
01:53:36 enforce on righteousness?
01:53:38 >> Uh
01:53:40 different standards.
01:53:42 >> If there’s different standards, it’s not
01:53:44 righteous.
01:53:45 >> Well, it’s a double standard is what it
01:53:47 is. But yeah.
01:53:48 >> Well, yeah, val point. In addition uh
01:53:52 also one just in practice that happens
01:53:55 which I think it’s Exodus 21 or 22
01:53:59 brings out sorry I don’t remember
01:54:00 exactly where um that we should not take
01:54:04 bribes during respect
01:54:07 >> or with uh
01:54:08 >> it’s actually Exodus 23:8
01:54:12 >> an unrighteous judgment is actually
01:54:16 another form of
01:54:18 >> oppression
01:54:20 that we just read about.
01:54:22 >> Yes. Yeah.
01:54:23 >> Yeah.
01:54:24 >> And so it’s really it’s really
01:54:26 interesting how these command these
01:54:28 Torah commands which actually make up
01:54:31 even the narrowest version the narrowest
01:54:34 definition of unrighteousness which the
01:54:38 broad definition of unrighteousness is
01:54:39 all sin. The narrowest definition of
01:54:43 unrighteousness. Uh the narrowest
01:54:45 definition of zedic is to is to um be
01:54:50 mer is basically
01:54:52 giving to people who stand in need, not
01:54:54 oppressing
01:54:56 um and being merciful.
01:55:00 That’s the narrowest definition of it.
01:55:03 >> Yeah. And also unrighteous judgment,
01:55:05 which actually goes along with Matthew 7
01:55:08 1 through the uh five, I think it is,
01:55:12 how it says to have righteous judgment,
01:55:14 and here it says don’t do unrighteous
01:55:17 judgment. Oh, wait a minute. Isn’t that
01:55:18 the same thing?
01:55:20 >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
01:55:22 >> Okay. All right.
01:55:23 >> Slightly different slightly different
01:55:24 wording, but same idea.
01:55:26 >> Yeah, that’s good. And so this so so can
01:55:30 can we see here how unrighteousness it
01:55:33 is how when he’s talking about
01:55:35 unrighteousness
01:55:36 as the as the leading thing how that
01:55:38 comes from Torah.
01:55:41 >> Yeah.
01:55:42 >> Okay. So let’s
01:55:46 >> Torah defines what is right and wrong
01:55:49 >> according to Yahweh which is what we
01:55:51 should be who is Yeshua. uh which is if
01:55:55 you’re a believer uh that’s what you
01:55:58 should be doing and if you’re a
01:56:00 non-believer well that’s how you’ll be
01:56:01 judged at the judgment bar in the end.
01:56:04 So I mean it is what’s right and wrong.
01:56:06 In fact on that point even atheists
01:56:09 admit if people kept the 10 divisions of
01:56:13 Torah the world would be a better place.
01:56:16 >> Yes.
01:56:17 So, so let’s move on to the next item on
01:56:20 his wonderful list and go to and let’s
01:56:22 look up the commands against fornication
01:56:24 in Torah. Um,
01:56:28 >> that goes over the seventh division,
01:56:32 right?
01:56:33 >> Yes.
01:56:34 >> So, let’s look at um Exodus 2014,
01:56:38 obviously.
01:56:50 Okay.
01:56:51 >> Thou shalt not commit.
01:56:54 >> That one doesn’t really require a whole
01:56:56 lot of explanation.
01:56:57 >> Well, other than like I talked about
01:56:59 earlier, uh, men and women commit
01:57:02 adultery,
01:57:03 >> right?
01:57:03 >> Despite what polygamists will claim.
01:57:07 Okay. And if you want the whole list of
01:57:10 things that you can’t do, look up
01:57:12 Leviticus 18 verses uh 6-23.
01:57:17 >> Yeah,
01:57:18 >> there’s there a whole list.
01:57:22 >> We don’t need to go into the specifics
01:57:23 there.
01:57:24 >> So, just to be in general, it’s uh
01:57:27 sexual sins including fornication,
01:57:29 right? As in sex before marriage. Okay.
01:57:32 Right. And
01:57:33 >> so, let’s go to Exodus 22:16-17.
01:57:37 Okay. Uh, Exodus 22, you said.
01:57:40 >> Yep.
01:57:44 >> And then 17- 18.
01:57:46 >> 16-1 17.
01:57:47 >> Oh, sorry. My bad. There we go.
01:57:50 >> Okay. So, uh, if I could get, did
01:57:53 somebody want to read that?
01:57:55 >> Sure. If a man entice a maid
01:58:01 that is not betrothed and lie with her,
01:58:03 he shall surely endow her to be his
01:58:05 wife. So, just so we’re aware, uh,
01:58:08 premortal sex because and not adultery
01:58:13 because it’s not endowed.
01:58:15 >> This is fornication. When you fornicate,
01:58:18 >> uh, the way to repent is to, uh, marry.
01:58:22 >> Marry her. You marry the woman that you
01:58:24 that you boked. Yes.
01:58:27 >> Yeah. So, and so and so there’s a law
01:58:30 against do against seducing people. And
01:58:34 yet also there is a punishment given for
01:58:36 if you do.
01:58:38 >> So then we have
01:58:40 >> so if you’re married to someone and then
01:58:42 you do uh seduce another one that’s
01:58:44 called adultery, right? If
01:58:46 >> and there’s a penalty for that.
01:58:48 >> Oh that one’s uh death.
01:58:50 >> That one’s death.
01:58:51 >> Yeah.
01:58:53 >> Not to put too
01:58:55 so don’t do that.
01:58:56 >> So not so not to put too fine a point on
01:58:58 things and we agree that fornication
01:59:01 comes from the law.
01:59:02 >> Yeah. Yes. Yeah. By the way, ju just
01:59:05 just real quick, another point, and
01:59:08 that’s another point against polygamy.
01:59:10 If repentance from fornication is to
01:59:14 marry the subject of your fornication,
01:59:18 and the penalty for adultery is death,
01:59:24 that goes against
01:59:26 >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. How And if you’re
01:59:28 already married and you had sex with
01:59:30 somebody else, that’s adultery. How can
01:59:32 you have another one?
01:59:34 >> Yeah, it goes against polygamy.
01:59:36 >> Yeah. In addition,
01:59:38 >> in DNC 42, LDS42,
01:59:42 it brings out how you should cleave unto
01:59:44 your wife and none other. So, if you’re
01:59:48 cleaving your wife and none other, how
01:59:50 do you go look for another one without
01:59:52 breaking that?
01:59:54 >> Yeah. Well, at that point, you’re not
01:59:55 cleaving.
01:59:57 >> Okay. So, so we have established now
01:59:59 that unrighteousness and fornication
02:00:01 clearly Paul is clearly driving
02:00:06 getting this the derivation for this
02:00:08 list from the law. Let’s look up
02:00:09 wickedness now.
02:00:10 >> Do do we want to talk about 17 or just
02:00:13 move on?
02:00:14 >> Uh 17. Oh. Uh just move on because I
02:00:17 think that
02:00:17 >> Okay, that’s fine.
02:00:18 >> I think that’s just more about
02:00:20 >> that’s just restitution.
02:00:22 >> It’s some technicalities. So that’s
02:00:24 >> it’s a technicality in the law. So, uh,
02:00:27 let’s just move on to Deuteronomy, uh,
02:00:31 commands against wickedness.
02:00:33 Uh, Deuteronomy 17:7.
02:00:38 No, sorry. Start with 16. 16:19.
02:00:41 >> Oh, 16:19. Okay. So, just general
02:00:44 command of wickedness that goes with the
02:00:46 first division.
02:00:48 >> Yep.
02:00:48 >> Watch it, guys. We’re getting into
02:00:50 dangerous territory here.
02:00:52 >> Okay, there you go.
02:00:54 Thou shalt not rest judgment. Thou shalt
02:00:56 not respect persons. Neither take a
02:00:58 gift. For a gift does blind the eyes of
02:01:01 the wise, and pervert the words of the
02:01:02 righteous. This is wicked wickedness and
02:01:04 judgment.
02:01:05 >> Yeah. So this goes along with how
02:01:07 Deuteronomy is a second telling because
02:01:09 has been reminded me that’s also in
02:01:12 Exodus 23.
02:01:14 >> Yeah. It’s don’t take bribes.
02:01:17 >> Yeah. Yeah. This is a second telling of
02:01:19 that or third or fourth. I don’t know
02:01:22 how many. Yeah. It’s not the first time,
02:01:24 right?
02:01:24 >> Right.
02:01:26 >> 17:7. Deuteronomy 17:7.
02:01:28 >> Sure.
02:01:32 >> Okay. There you go.
02:01:33 >> The hands the hands of the witnesses
02:01:35 shall be the first upon him to put him
02:01:36 to death, and afterward the hands of all
02:01:38 the people. So thou shalt thou put the
02:01:40 evil away from among you. You’re
02:01:41 supposed to put evil away from among
02:01:43 you. This is a commandment against
02:01:45 wickedness. Put the evil away from among
02:01:47 you.
02:01:48 >> Yeah. This also goes along with the
02:01:50 woman caught in adultery that we’ll give
02:01:52 a link to. We won’t get any more than
02:01:54 that.
02:01:54 >> Yeah. 19:19 Deuteronomy.
02:01:58 >> Okay.
02:02:05 >> Then shall ye do unto him as he had
02:02:07 thought to have done unto his brother,
02:02:09 so shall ye put the evil away from among
02:02:12 you. Again that command th this
02:02:15 reiteration that we are to put the evil
02:02:17 away from among us. Wickedness is not
02:02:20 supposed to be a part of Yashel.
02:02:22 >> Yeah. So this specifically is bearing
02:02:25 false witness against your neighbor.
02:02:28 >> Okay.
02:02:28 >> In order to get him killed
02:02:31 >> or or or killed or any punishment
02:02:34 actually.
02:02:35 >> Right. Yeah. True true.
02:02:37 >> Especially killed. But
02:02:38 >> the recompense for that is
02:02:40 >> any
02:02:41 >> is you get the penalty that you were
02:02:43 seeking for that person, right?
02:02:45 >> Well, yeah. You get the penalty that
02:02:48 that person would have got if your
02:02:49 testimony was believed.
02:02:52 >> That’s to get rid of people lying or
02:02:54 bearing false witness against others.
02:02:57 This is a serious deal.
02:02:59 >> I mean I mean
02:03:02 Deuteronomy 22:21
02:03:04 >> 22 21.
02:03:07 Is that like 67? Sorry
02:03:10 >> again.
02:03:12 >> Sorry, I’m being a dork.
02:03:16 >> John, you want to read that?
02:03:21 >> Which one again? 21.
02:03:23 >> 21. Yep.
02:03:24 >> Okay. Then they shall bring out the
02:03:26 damsel to the door of her father’s
02:03:28 house. And the men of her city shall
02:03:30 stone her with stones that she die
02:03:35 because she hath wrought folly in
02:03:38 Yasharel to play the in her
02:03:40 father’s house. So shalt thou put evil
02:03:44 away from among you. So the specific
02:03:49 >> So the specific command here is about we
02:03:53 if if if it be found that a woman as um
02:04:00 if we go up I believe this
02:04:02 >> 20 would probably make it more clear.
02:04:05 >> Yeah. That a woman is uh that a woman is
02:04:09 not a virgin. she has and that she is
02:04:12 that she’s not confessed to her sins or
02:04:16 or
02:04:17 >> if she’s lying about being a virgin is
02:04:19 what
02:04:19 >> that she’s lying about being a virgin
02:04:21 then she is to be stoned to death.
02:04:24 >> Yeah. it cuz um this goes along with um
02:04:29 kind of a mixture of things, lying uh
02:04:32 but also how uh she committed
02:04:35 fornication and should have married the
02:04:36 guy that she willingly for fornicated
02:04:39 with but she didn’t. So it’s kind of a
02:04:43 bit like adultery that’s going on here.
02:04:45 Okay.
02:04:46 >> Right. And so, and once again, that
02:04:49 reiteration, so shalt thou put the evil
02:04:53 away from you.
02:04:55 >> Yeah. Yeah. Don’t put up with wickedness
02:04:57 in your society.
02:04:59 >> Yeah.
02:05:01 >> Actually, society today actually says we
02:05:04 should be tolerant of wickedness.
02:05:07 Yeshua, Yahweh says otherwise.
02:05:10 >> Yep. He says, “Put the evil away from
02:05:14 you.” And the way that he prescribes to
02:05:17 do that in many instances is by death.
02:05:24 Yeah. Um
02:05:25 >> or cutting off or cutting off you have
02:05:28 is
02:05:29 >> it depends on the severity. So I I don’t
02:05:32 know about many but it there are
02:05:35 occasions where capital punishment is
02:05:38 required.
02:05:39 >> Yes. So wickedness is not tolerated in
02:05:43 the house of Yashel.
02:05:46 >> I find it interesting that most
02:05:49 >> I if Let me just say one thing.
02:05:53 >> I find it interesting that most of the
02:05:56 capital punishment has to do with being
02:06:00 true
02:06:03 to
02:06:05 your spousal relationship. Like the
02:06:09 church is supposed to be true to Yahwa.
02:06:11 The church is the bride of Yahwa or
02:06:15 Yeshua Hamashiach
02:06:17 and the woman or the man both are to be
02:06:21 true to their spouses. So I find
02:06:25 interesting. I find that
02:06:26 >> which is which is why the church is
02:06:30 commanded
02:06:32 um this is why the early church was
02:06:35 commanded that adulterers were to be put
02:06:37 away. They were to be cut off from the
02:06:41 church because the church has no
02:06:42 authority to enforce um
02:06:46 capital punishment.
02:06:48 >> Yeah. Uh well, as brought up in what is
02:06:51 it in Elma 30ish is I can’t I I’d have
02:06:56 to look. But when Oh, it’s probably uh
02:07:00 Elma 34 with the Antichrist that they
02:07:04 had to get permission from the state to
02:07:07 put someone to death that deserved the
02:07:10 capital punishment. Um, and so with Elma
02:07:16 I sorry DNC 42 with exccommunicating
02:07:20 adulterers
02:07:22 uh
02:07:23 the govern the wicked government at the
02:07:26 time uh was not putting adulterers to
02:07:29 death as they should have been. So
02:07:31 that’s why they just said get rid of
02:07:32 them because they needed permission from
02:07:34 the state to do that. So
02:07:36 >> yes,
02:07:37 >> so they weren’t going to get
02:07:38 >> what Yahweh was stating was somewhat
02:07:40 taking into account the limitations that
02:07:43 they themselves had in that day. Right.
02:07:45 >> Right. So okay. So let’s now take a look
02:07:49 at covetousness in Exodus 20:17.
02:07:52 >> Okay.
02:07:53 >> Thou shalt not covet.
02:07:57 >> I I I I that one’s confusing.
02:08:01 >> Yeah, I know. This is this is a really
02:08:03 it’s really hard to see uh how Paul is
02:08:06 drawing on the law with this one. Um but
02:08:09 uh
02:08:11 Brennan, you want to read that?
02:08:15 >> What verse is that?
02:08:16 >> Verse 17.
02:08:17 >> 17.
02:08:18 >> That thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s
02:08:21 house. Thou shalt not covet thy
02:08:23 neighbor’s wife, nor his man’s servant,
02:08:26 nor his maiden servant, nor his ox, nor
02:08:29 his ass, nor anything that is thy
02:08:31 neighbors.
02:08:33 >> And this is reiterated in Deuteronomy
02:08:35 5:21, by the way. So, um, let’s look go
02:08:39 ahead to maliciousness
02:08:41 and let’s look up Leviticus,
02:08:44 uh,
02:08:46 19 verses 16 and 18.
02:08:54 And Andrew, do you want to read those?
02:08:57 >> 16 and 18, you said.
02:08:59 >> Yep.
02:09:01 >> Thou shalt not go up and down as a
02:09:05 tailbearer
02:09:07 among thy people,
02:09:09 neither shalt thou stand against the
02:09:12 blood of thy neighbor. I am Yahweh.
02:09:16 and verse 18.
02:09:17 >> Thou shalt not avenge nor bear any
02:09:21 grudge against the children of thy
02:09:23 people,
02:09:24 but thou shalt love thy neighbor as
02:09:27 thyself. I am Yahweh.
02:09:31 >> Okay. Two two
02:09:34 cut and dry commands against malicious
02:09:36 intent.
02:09:38 >> Yeah, this uh there is some weird
02:09:41 warning in some of this, but don’t tail
02:09:44 bearer. Don’t go follow your around
02:09:47 looking for their sins to call it out.
02:09:50 If you see it, call it out. But don’t be
02:09:53 trying to look for their sins and, you
02:09:56 know, getting in all their business to
02:09:59 to do that. Right.
02:10:01 >> This also this also goes along with
02:10:03 gossiping.
02:10:04 >> Yes, it does.
02:10:06 >> Which is a very which is a very
02:10:08 malicious activity.
02:10:10 >> Yeah. It’s actually against the sixth
02:10:12 division.
02:10:13 >> Yeah. You’re murdering their character.
02:10:16 >> Yeah.
02:10:17 >> In other people’s eyes, right? So,
02:10:20 >> and can anybody can anybody uh not see
02:10:24 the bearing a grudge
02:10:26 uh and seeking and seeking for vengeance
02:10:29 is not malic as being not being
02:10:32 malicious.
02:10:33 >> Well, it it’s very malicious. Yes.
02:10:36 >> Yeah. Yeah.
02:10:38 Which is against the uh sixth division.
02:10:42 Yeah,
02:10:42 >> you’re supposed to have mercy.
02:10:44 >> But thou shalt love thy neighbor as
02:10:46 thyself.
02:10:47 >> Yeah. Which Oh, wait a minute. That
02:10:49 sounds like the second great
02:10:51 commandment, which is all the second
02:10:54 fifth are under.
02:10:56 >> Uhhuh.
02:10:58 >> So, you mean Yeshua renewed
02:11:02 something? Maybe?
02:11:03 >> Yeah.
02:11:05 >> I don’t know. There’s a good chance was
02:11:07 a restorer. Oh, okay.
02:11:09 >> Oh my goodness. that. Oh, he was a
02:11:12 redeemer. Oh, yeah. Anyways, so let’s go
02:11:15 to full of envy.
02:11:17 >> Uh let’s look up uh let’s stay here in
02:11:20 Leviticus 19. Look up and go with verses
02:11:24 17 and 18 again.
02:11:30 >> Who do you want to read, Ben?
02:11:32 >> Uh Brennan, you want to read that?
02:11:35 >> Or is it Josh’s turn? I don’t know.
02:11:37 >> It doesn’t read. It’s fine. I’m I’m
02:11:40 fading fast, guys. I’m
02:11:42 >> Okay.
02:11:43 >> That’s That’s 17 and 18, right?
02:11:45 >> Yep.
02:11:46 >> Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine
02:11:49 heart. Thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy
02:11:52 neighbor, and not suffer sin upon him.
02:11:55 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any
02:11:57 grudge against the children of thy
02:11:59 people. But thou shalt love thy neighbor
02:12:01 as thyself. I am the Lord.
02:12:03 >> Someone who is full of envy cannot
02:12:05 fulfill these commandments.
02:12:07 >> Yeah. And I I do want to bring out how
02:12:09 it brings out how you are to love your
02:12:11 neighbor and you are to help them keep
02:12:14 the commandments.
02:12:15 >> Yeah.
02:12:17 >> In fact, I I I know the middle parts may
02:12:19 be a little confusing, but the last part
02:12:21 of 17 is not thou and not suffer sin
02:12:25 upon your neighbor. As in, you help him
02:12:28 learn the commandments so that way he
02:12:30 does what is right.
02:12:32 >> Right?
02:12:32 >> The story of Kora is about envy.
02:12:37 Kora envied the he was a his house were
02:12:41 Levites but they were not priests
02:12:44 and he wanted he envied the priests.
02:12:49 >> Yeah.
02:12:51 Which goes along coveting right? Thou
02:12:53 shalt not covet.
02:12:55 >> Yep.
02:12:56 >> So part of coveting uh also deals with
02:12:59 leadership. Don’t covet someone’s uh
02:13:01 position and
02:13:03 >> right
02:13:06 >> so I think it’s important to note I I we
02:13:10 could go through the rest of this you
02:13:12 can see that it’s all connected and
02:13:15 drawn from Torah.
02:13:18 So let’s go back to Romans real quick.
02:13:20 >> Would would that imply that Torah is
02:13:22 still valid in the book of Romans?
02:13:25 >> Uh yes. Well, I I that’s a that’s a
02:13:29 really good question. I wonder why for
02:13:33 authority for these things being wicked,
02:13:35 he’s his source of authority being the
02:13:39 law. If the law is no longer valid, why
02:13:43 is he citing that as his source of
02:13:45 authority for citing for rel for
02:13:47 rattling off these sins?
02:13:51 >> Uh yeah,
02:13:52 >> that’s a great question. H
02:13:54 >> I I think both are st both Ben and I are
02:13:58 stating Torah is still valid. Now
02:14:00 >> Torah is still valid when Paul is
02:14:04 writing this book. And so if and so
02:14:07 anything after this you have to look at
02:14:10 from this lens. He is citing Torah as
02:14:16 the source of judgment against these
02:14:20 people.
02:14:21 I I do want to add um that there’s a
02:14:24 difference between Torah, law of Moses,
02:14:27 and oral law. And it was the law of
02:14:30 Moses, a punishment that was given at
02:14:32 Mount Si that was ended at the cross,
02:14:36 not Torah. Because if Torah ended,
02:14:40 these shouldn’t be concerns anymore.
02:14:42 >> That’s right. So he that is and that is
02:14:46 absolutely correct.
02:14:48 So as we proceed through Romans, we have
02:14:52 to bear in mind
02:14:55 this section right here which shows that
02:14:58 the law is still valid. So anything
02:15:02 after this has to be read in light of
02:15:04 this.
02:15:06 This is a letter.
02:15:08 >> This is a letter and he’s not going to
02:15:10 change his mind between now and the end.
02:15:15 Uh Paul’s not because he’s not crazy,
02:15:18 but some people do. But Paul
02:15:22 Paul is not Paul is Paul is not. Paul is
02:15:24 an apostle. So, as we continue to unpack
02:15:28 Romans,
02:15:30 that’s what I need people to be left
02:15:32 with is this knowledge, this backbone of
02:15:35 understanding that Paul knows that the
02:15:40 law, that Torah is still valid, and that
02:15:44 those who have had the opportunity to
02:15:47 know Torah are under a greater light of
02:15:50 judgment from Yah than those who have
02:15:54 Not.
02:15:56 >> Yeah.
02:15:58 And that is that along with the gospel
02:16:01 being the p the gospel of Yeshua being
02:16:05 the power of God onto salvation to both
02:16:07 Jew and Gentile is the salient message
02:16:12 of Romans chapter 1 that I want anybody
02:16:17 who reads who watches this teaching to
02:16:20 walk away with
02:16:22 and to know
02:16:26 that you’ve been fed fed lies.
02:16:29 >> Oh, you mean like Jeremiah said the
02:16:31 Gentiles have been fed lies?
02:16:33 >> Yes. You have been fed lies.
02:16:37 But you can
02:16:41 get over it.
02:16:43 >> Yes. And repent and become like Yeshua
02:16:48 >> by becoming holy as he is holy as
02:16:51 defined in Torah.
02:16:53 >> Amen. I mean,
02:16:56 let that I think that’s a great closing
02:16:59 place, brothers.
