Today I read Moroni 7 because I felt prompted to. One thing that stuck out to me today was two attributes of charity in verse 45.
Moroni 7:45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
The two that stuck out to me today are 1) rejoiceth not in iniquity and 2) rejoiceth in the truth. I am they stuck out to me because of an experience I had recently. And others I’ve had in the past.
Many people say charity is to love everyone, which I agree with we should love everyone, but then they go off and say we need to be nice and not stick up for what is right but just love them I believe that is wrong. Charity does not rejoice in iniquity and I would also say does not go around saying it’s okay I love you, go ahead and keep sinning.
The other portion, rejoiceth in the truth. The Love of Christ is partly the love of truth. If you are not seeking the truth and rejoicing in it do you have charity? According to this verse, at the very least if you are not rejoicing in the truth, but hiding behind false traditions of men and mocking those who are trying to bring out truth, you are not.
