My favorite edition of the Book of Mormon is The Earliest Text. One reason is because the Book of Mormon The Earliest Text is based upon Royal Skousen‘s thirty years of work with the original and printer’s manuscript of the Book of Mormon along with most editions of the Book of Mormon in the LDS / Brighamite and RLDS / Community of Chirst traditions. Another very important reason is because there is plenty of room to write my thoughts and impressions about the sacred text of what it means at various levels, see PaRDeS, and angles.
Above is a picture of my notes from Alma (LDS 17:1-14) (RLDS 12:1-24). Alma (LDS 17-20) (RLDS 12) is a type of Yeshua’s / Jesus’ mortal ministry, His atonement, the resurrection, and insights about the second coming. Below are the Scripture Studies I have done thus far on this section that gets into the details.
- Scripture Study 2023-08-08: Alma (LDS 17) (RLDS 12:1-61): Alma 17 is a shadow of Yeshua’s mortal life. Intro points the same, apostles are to go to the world. Yeshua went to hell. Search the scriptures, preexistence and mortality, teachers. Yeshua fasted before His ministry, Ammon type of Yeshua, power and authority. 14 is Messianic number. Confess to Elohim not a bishop. Yeshua was afflicted. Son left the King, ministry was at prime of life, refused to be king. Zarahemla is heaven, sword is word, spear is Holy Spirit, bows is Torah, spiritual food, wilderness is life. Apostles to Jerusalem. Fasting before ministry. Teach aganist false traditions of men. Anointing, peace, preach. Type of Yeshua ministry. Apostles being sent to non-believers. Pharisees had hard hearts, wanted to murder Yeshua, robbed the poor, priestcraft. Daniel 9, indolent. Ministry, Yeshua ministered unto the 12. Ammon type of Yeshua. Yeshua went to the spiritually dead. Yeshua was bound, kings decide what to do with people. Son wanted to atone, cross, wicked want Yeshua to be wicked, authority taken away. Yeshua gave His life. Yeshua came after the 3rd day and gave revelation, meaning of Sebus. False leaders are punished, Jews were not unified. Wanted to help. Missionary work and mercy. Immitate Yeshua, YHWH fights, flocks, treds the winepress alone. Yeshua died and was protected. Miracles in front of non-believers. Wicked planned Yeshua’s death. Club is battling with YHWH’s word. Yeshua’s word harmed Pharisees power. Satan’s followers fell, Sling symbolism. Worshipping false gods is adultry, prophecy about the second coming, Ben had cup of judgement. Worst punishment goes to leaders. Few find and keep YHWH’s Torah. Resurrection and sharing.
- Scripture Study 2023-11-14: Alma (LDS 18:1-24) (RLDS 12:62-101): Expounding the first half of Alma 18 showing how Ammon is a type of Yeshua during His mortal ministry. Also brought out modalism in some of the verses.
- Scripture Study 2024-05-07: Alma (LDS 18:28-33) (RLDS 12:105-111): Expounding part of Alma 18. We are spirits not physical bodies. Torah is everywhere. If you are not seeing the promises from YHWH in the here and now, it’s because you’re not keeping His Torah. Fear is better translated as revere in many cases. Condensation of Elohim. Earth is Elohim’s foot stool. We need to be like Elohim. Judas and Brigham Young fell. We are literally or adopted in the family of Abraham. Talking about the Second Comforter. Talking about Special Witness / Apostles. Elohim is not a liar. Belief in Hebrew thought connotes actions. Hebrew thought vs Greek thought.
Around the start of 2024 I started seeing how the LDS / Brighamite church had journal editions of their scriptures. Because there is plenty of space to journal in the Book of Mormon The Earliest Text, I’m not interested in the LDS / Brighamite church Book of Mormon Journal. But with me believing in the majority of the Doctrine & Covenants (see Expose D&C), I got this blue version of the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price Journal Edition and have been enjoying it.
Above are my notes thus far for D&C (LDS 1:6-32) (RLDS 1) (1833 1) (1835 1) (1844 1). As you can see this section, that YHWH designated as His preface to the Book of Commandments D&C (LDS 1:6) (RLDS 1) (1833 1) (1835 1) (1844 1), it’s dealing with preparing the world for Yeshua’s / Jesus’ Second Coming, see Important Coming Dates for when it will happen. An important figure for Yeshua’s / Jesus’ Second Coming is the Mighty and Strong One and this section brings up one of his missions. D&C (LDS 1:17) (RLDS 1) (1833 1) (1835 1) (1844 1) also brings out how Joseph Smith is the Modern Day Elijah / Messenager, as does D&C (LDS 35:4) (RLDS 34) (1833 37) (1835 11) (1844 11) see Scripture Study 2024-01-18 and Mighty and Strong One. I hope to finish “Two Churches and The Mark verses The Seal” soon, which gets into this more and shows that D&C (LDS 1) (RLDS 1) (1833 1) (1835 1) (1844 1) is a chiasmus.
The LDS / Brighamite church also has journal editions for the Tanak / Old Testament and the New Testament. Which I am intrigued with, but becaues the LDS / Brighamite church is leaving out the JST / Inspired Version / New Translation of the Bible, I won’t be getting them. I have tried working with Deseret Book and others who publish the Inspired Version to create journal editions, but no one has been interested.
Because I really want Journal editions for the JST / Inspired Version / New Translation of the Bible, that shows the deletions and the insertions, I took it upon myself to make them. I wrote a C# program to parse what Glenn Wiskur has at Scripture Tool Box. The program can combine the deletions and the insertions together within verse boundaries to make them easier to read. And lastly the program will format the JST / Inspired Version / New Translation of the Bible into different file formats. The PDF(s) I have uploaded to be printed on demand are in the Published folder here. If you want to take the PDF(s) or docx(s) and print them yourself, your welcome to do that. If you want to take the C# code and do something slightly different, your also welcome to do that. I believe the only ones who should be compensated for their time and effort in publishing YHWH Elohim’s word are those who are putting it to paper for others, like the scribes of old. With three columns for the body. And most importantly with the middle column blank to write your inspiration, thoughts and notes next to the scriptures. Which I hope will help with your study and understanding of YHWH Elohim’s word to better understand it and to become more like Yeshua / Jesus, such that you will reconize Him as He is when you will see Him instead of wanting to hide under a rock.

I also did not include the book of Esther. It is not inspired of YHWH Elohim, and is instead patterned off of pagan ideas. I also don’t celebrate Purim because it has it’s roots in worshipping false gods including eating cakes of the queen of heaven, which is Satan.
