High Holidays

(see also Morning, New Moon, Pagan Holidays, Sabbath, Inclusive Time, Sabbaths, Lunar Cycle Change, Calendar Changes)

The day starts are sunrise, the moonth starts the sunrise after dark conjunction, and the year starts the the moonth after the spring equinox. In the table below I only included what is necessary to determine the High Holidays and Hanukkah. In my Sabbaths resource page I give some explanations for these calculations.

All New Moon days are worship and non-work days. There are three days from YHWH Elohim’s High Holidays that are non-work days, that are not on New Moon Days or Weekly Sabbaths, which are First Fruits, Pentecost and Day of Atonement.

Yeshua/Jesus was born on Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles: (One thing that people should consider about Tabernacles is that they are to live in huts outside without complete roof, what a perfect time to see the star that would proclaim His birth.)

When was Jesus (Yeshua) really born?

Mosiah (LDS 3:5) (RLDS 1:97-98) For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.

Books:

Remnant High Holidays is a Facebook group I run for God’s Holidays from Lev 23.

I talk about the importance of High Holidays some in On The Morrow / Morning.

A lot of Christians will say “what would Jesus do”. I believe a better saying is “what DID Jesus do”. If we don’t know what Jesus actually did and the reasons behind why He did them, we won’t have any clue what Jesus would do in this or that situation. Nor do we really know Jesus or understand Him or His ways. For if we really know Jesus and understand His ways, we would conduct ourselves like He did while He was tabernacled here on earth and do the things He did. I believe that includes celebrating Feastival of Lights, see John 10:22-23, and the appointed times, moadim (H4150), commanded in Leviticus 23. I promise you will gain deeper insights from the scriptures, and thus the gospel, as you study about the Feasts of God for all mankind found in Leviticus 23 and celebrate them.
On The Morrow / Morning.

I talk some of how starting with 3 Nephi 11 the resurrected Yeshua is celebrating Shavuot/Pentecost with the Nephites.

Remnant High Holidays

The Saints in the New Testament celebrated God’s holidays from Leviticus 23 after Yeshua’s resurrection just as those in the New World in the Book of Mormon did, one example is 3 Nephi 11 and Shavuot/Pentecost (see The Holy Spirit and The Holy Ghost are the Same)

  • Scripture Study 2025-04-13: First going over the symbolism of not boiling the lamb for Passover.
  • Scripture Study 2025-04-06: Expounding Passover scriptures along with Unleavened Bread and First Fruits. Showing the imagery behind them and how they point to Yeshua. Also bring out how the scriptures contradict false traditions of men for Passover and the traditional Sedar meal which started after 70 AD. Scriptures talking about the end of the year for Tabernacles shows that the 7th moon is not a start of the year. April 6th 1830 was the 13th day of the moon, and you need to set up a church before Passover, because you need to be a member to partake of Passover. Which also means the day the Book of Mormon was published was on the 1st day of the 1st week, going along with when light was given, and the Book of Mormon is light. Explaining why the lamb is selected on the 10th day of the 1st moon. We are to fully consume Yeshua and His ways in this life. The Last Supper was not a Passover meal and we can know this because they ate leaven bread and everyone left before sunrise. The controversies about the High Holidays are to happen are resolved with the Lunar Sabbath. The scriptures about Passover tell us to cook on the weekly Sabbath, which goes along with D&C LDS 59. LDS church changed the articles of faith. In the book of Ruth people greeted each other with YHWH. Raising up the offering during First Fruits is like how Yeshua is the first one who went up to Heaven. Offerings are prayers unto YHWH. Bringing up various issue with using barley to determine the start of the year. The weekly sabbath is from sunrise to sunset. Pagan Holidays are dark. The High Holidays teach the gospel.

  • What Is Actual Leaven Scripture Talks About?

Bikkurim – First Fruits

  • Rapture see Second Coming
  • Scripture Study 2025-09-20: The rapture, which is partly a resurrection, will happen on the day of First Fruits and will include those who will receive Celestial and Terrestrial glory. First Fruits day is resurrection day, and the ceremony of raising up the First Fruits shows that.
  • Scripture Study 2025-04-13: Then expounding passages with First Fruits. Talked about YHWH’s calendar some. Bread offering is a better translation than meet offering. First Fruits is symbolic of Yeshua being the first one being resurrected. Salt is to be used with the bread offering. Burning of fat, which is symbolic of sins, is pleasing because it represents repenting. Testament has translation issues dealing with Yeshua’s resurrection. Yeshua’s body did not corrupt with three days and three nights. The reason for raising the first fruits is to teach us Yeshua went up to Heaven. The heave offering shows symbolism also. The Rapture will happen on first fruits. The first instance of first fruits is symbolic of the first resurrection, the second instance of first fruits is symbolic of the second resurrection.

Second Passover, Unleaven Bread and First Fruits:

Summer Feast:

Shavuot – Pentecost

Immediately after [Pentecost] comes the festival of the sacred moon.
The works of Philo, The Special Laws, 2, The Eight Festival, XXI (188), page 586

… each lunar month was divided into four parts, CORRESPONDING TO THE FOUR PHASES OF THE MOON. The first week of each month BEGAN WITH THE NEW MOON, so that, as the lunar month was one or two days more than four periods of seven days, these additional days were not reckoned [counted] at all.
Article “Week”, The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, Volume 10, page 482

Fall Feasts:

Feast of Teruah / Shouting / Blast / Trumpets (not a new year as implied with Rosh Hashanah see Mindful / Covenanted not Males):

  • Sixth Trumpet & Bowl see Second Coming
  • Scripture Study 2025-09-20: Expounding Teruah aka Trumpets aka Shouting. Teruah is a day of calling repentance. Teruah is in the 7th moon not the 1st moon. Offer a burnt offering on Teruah, at minimum light a candle or start a fire and burn wood. No scripture calls Teruah Rosh Hashanah, because it is not a new year as many claim with that title. After we repent we will feel joy. The church gives the offering of the animals in Numbers 29. The offerings in Numbers 29 point us to Yeshua and His atonement. The trumpet is blown on Teruah because it is a new moon day. Going over instances in the Tanak / Old Testament of keeping Teruah. Nehemiah 8 is an example of calling people to repentance during Teruah. Men, women and children were celebrating Teruah.Tradition of eating honey and apples on Teruah goes along with the fall and returning to YHWH’s Torah.
  • Scripture Study 2024-10-01: Expounding scriptures dealing with Feast of Trumpets. Day of Trumpets is a day of warning and joy. One non-work day, in addition to weekly and moonly sabbaths, for each of the three groups of the High Holidays / yearly sabbaths. Feast of Trumpets is not a New Year celebration. The Fall Holidays deal with the believers final fate. The wood offering represents how we are to offer ourselves to YHWH. Looking at the symbolism of the Day of Trumpets offering. With out keeping the commandments, aka being obedient, offerings mean nothing. Day of Trumpets is to convince people to come to Yeshua and to keep His Torah.
  • Scripture Study 2023-09-13:
  • Scripture Study 2022-09-26: If you believe when Joseph Smith received the gold plates was during Feast of Trumpets, starting the day at sunset and using the first visible crescent of the moon does not work with the calendar.

10 Days of Awe – 10 Days of Repentance:

Yom Kippur – Day of Atonement:

  • Seventh Trumpet & Bowl see Second Coming
  • Scripture Study 2025-09-29: Showing the reason why Yeshua said “why hast Thou forsaken Me”, is because He took our sins upon Him and went through a spiritual death. Talk about the calendar in relation to when Yeshua died and the connections to Law of Moses and the Passover Lamb. Matthew was originally written in Hebrew. Day of Atonement and Red Heifer ordinances goes over Yeshua’s last hours point by point. The wicked will burn everything down just so they can be in control. The Restoration explicitly brings out Yeshua bleeding from every pore and suffered twice where the ordinances from YHWH imply that. Unveiling SJR 1 Peter 2:24 and SJR 2 Corinthians 5:21 translations. Hanging people is not a pagan tradition but is specified in Torah and is done in the Book of Mormon. Isaiah 53 is about Yeshua not the Mighty and Strong One or Israel. The Mighty and Strong One will be married by reputation and not physically. Yeshua accepts us into His kingdom after we come to Him with a broken heart and contrite spirit and only after that are we rewarded for our works. When we sin we can feel YHWH leave us, and when we repent you can feel Him give you joy and peace. Scapegoat or Azazel means to enterally remove. Only Yeshua can bear our sins upon Him, showing that the scapegoat or Azazel represents Yeshua and not Satan. Yeshua is being represented by goats in the Day of Atonement ordinance because He took our sins upon Himself. Orthodox Jews add many traditions of men to the written Torah from YHWH which we are commanded not to do. Animal sacrifice will be restored during the Second Coming events. We are to office a sacrifice by fire. We are also to afflict our souls, done by fasting and repenting, which is to point us to what Yeshua did for us during the atonement. The tenth day of the moonth brings out how Yeshua was selected before the foundation of the world. Fasting is to bring about righteousness just as Yeshua’s atonement does. Trees and thus wood represents people show YHWH’s work, which we are to help Him with, is to purify people. Starting the fast the evening before 10th just as Yeshua affliction of soul happened after a dinner. If you don’t fast during Day of Atonement you are cut off from YHWH and will not be able to receive more than Telestial glory. Working on the sabbath is a sin worthy of capital punishment. Day of Atonement is telling you start a fire on the sabbath. You are also allowed to cook food on the sabbath. If the day starts at even, which it doesn’t, you would have to fast two days. Yeshua bleed twice for us, which goes along why there are two goats for the Day of Atonement, and two daily lambs for the punishment known as the Law of Moses which is not to be done anymore, and the Red Heifer how the alter had to be cleansed with blood before anything could be put on the alter. The Red Heifer is to be killed after the temple is done because you need the blood on the finished temple. Taking the bitter cup of bitter wine for the sacrament points us back to Yeshua’s bitter cup of the atonement.
  • Day of Atonement in Torah: Day of Atonement / Yom Kippur is about the atonement that Yeshua / Jesus worked out for us believers and the different aspects of that. Symbolism is deeply important to understand what YHWH Elohim wants to teach us with the ceremony of the Day Atonement / Yom Kippur, and how it is a prophecy of Yeshua’s / Jesus’ mortal life and especially of His last hours. How Yeshua / Jesus took our sins upon Himself to save all those who have sinned in their past and come under His covering.
  • Scripture Study 2024-10-10: Day of Atonement is about what Yeshua did for us and the different aspects of that. Sin is breaking Torah. Love the way YHWH wants us to love. Fatted calf and the blood on the alter. Day of Atonement shows the day starts at sunrise not sunset. All Things, means Torah. Jacob 2 is during Day of Atonement. Fasting is about not giving into our bodily appetites aka the natural man which is sin. Different names for focusing on different aspects of the same things. To understand prophecy you need to understand symbolism. To understand the seconding coming you need to understand Torah. Mercy is integral to Torah. Day of Atonement is about how Yeshua and Yeshua only.
  • Scripture Study 2024-02-24: The two goats for day of Atonement points to Yeshua’s atonement because He took our sins upon Him.
  • Jacob (LDS 2:1-35) (RLDS 2:1-47)

Sukkot – Feast of Tabernacles/Booths:

Eight Day: (Not commanded)

Hanukkah: (Not a commandment but Yeshua/Jesus did celebrate it, and I believe it is when Yeshua was conceived. I also don’t do the 9 candle stick.)

  • Quick Hanukkah Thought: We are to dedicate ourselves to light on the 8th day of Hanukkah.
  • Scripture Study 2024-12-15: A few quick thoughts about Hanukah. Light entering the temple. I give gifts. Don’t enforce your traditions. Difference between your own traditions and traditions on how to worship false gods. Christmas is Saturnalia. It’s interesting Hanukah starts on the 25th of the 9th moon and Christmas on the 25th. Twisting of truth and lies together. It’s not about what’s on your heart, it’s about it means to YHWH. You take what is bad and make it good. Eight is the number of renewal. Recommit to Yeshua and His ways. Dreidel was used for deception. Don’t continue to do something that encourages deception. No where in Torah that gives an exception to not keep law to keep people alive. Jews return at the end of the Second Coming events not before. The Jews need repent, as everyone does. What is going in the Jerusalem is not prophetic. Good prophecy is about Zion, bad is about the world which includes old Jerusalem. The popular prophecy interpretation is from the Jesuits to get people to lose faith. When conception happens, lights enters the tabernacle / body. Yeshua was born during the first day of Tabernacles. Gambling is not explicitly forbidden in Torah. Proverbs warns against gambling with money we can’t lose. Your kids will like Hanukah, play with fire and get presents for 8 days. Yeshua celebrated Hanukah, if you want be like Yeshua celebrate Hanukah.
