Introduction

Plain is a Hebrew idiom that points to Torah, depending on context just as All Things is depending on context. The first time in scriptures I know of this being brought out is Genesis 25:27. This is not the easier place to catch this understanding because one needs to know that dwelling in a tent is an Hebrew idiom meaning learning Torah (see ALL Things You Should DO for details). SJR Deuteronomy 27:8 is the first obvious instance in the scriptures that plain is a Hebrew meaning Torah. The first place I saw this Hebrew idiom was in the Book of Mormon in Alma (LDS 5:43)(RLDS 3:71-72). The OR in A-BB is telling us that “ACCORDING to the COMMANDMENTS [TORAH] OF ELOHIM” is another way of saying PLAINLY. Connecting 2 Nephi (LDS 1:24)(RLDS 1:40-42) and 2 Nephi (LDS 25:4-5)(RLDS 11:5-8) together also shows us that PLAINNESS is connected to the law / Torah.

New Translation / JST / Inspired Version of the Bible

1 Nephi (LDS 13:20-42)(RLDS 3:156-200) brings out how plain and precious words were removed from the Bible before it went to the nations. Both plain and precious points to Torah. When you study all of the New Translation / JST / Inspired Version of the Bible you will see it is more pro Torah than the KJV is, that Joseph Smith corrected.

1828 Webster’s Dictionary

1828 Webster’s Dictionary makes it clean that plain means: simple, clear, frank, blunt, easy to understand. In that it is explained and no excuses to misunderstand. With YHWH’s Torah being plain there is no excuses for missing the mark of keeping His Torah.

A-BA this is the way [Torah];
A-BB and there is none other way [Torah]
A-BC nor name [character] given under heaven
A–CA whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God [Elohim].
A–CB And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ [Messiah],
A–CC and the only and true doctrine
A-BA of the Father [YHWH],

A-BC and of the Holy Ghost [Torah],

AA 1 And now, behold, my beloved brethren, I suppose that ye ponder somewhat in your hearts
A-B concerning that which ye should DO after ye have entered [gate] in by the way [path / law / Torah].
AA But, behold, why do ye ponder these things in your hearts?

–CB for behold, the WORD [INSTRUCTIONS] OF CHRIST will TELL YOU ALL THINGS WHAT YE SHOULD DO.
—DA 4 Wherefore, now after I have spoken these words,
—DB if ye cannot understand them it will be because ye ask not, neither do ye knock;
—-E wherefore, ye are not brought into the light [law / Torah],
—-E but must perish in the dark [because continuing to sin].
—D 5 For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter [gate] in by the way [path / law / Torah],
–C and receive the HOLY GHOST [law / Torah], IT will SHOW unto YOU ALL THINGS WHAT YE SHOULD DO.
-BA 6 Behold, this is the doctrine of Christ [the Messiah],
-BB and there will be no more doctrine given until after He shall manifest Himself unto you in the flesh [mortality].
-BC And when He shall manifest himself unto you in the flesh [mortality],
-BA the things which He shall say unto you shall ye observe to do.
-BBA 7 And now I, Nephi, CANNOT SAY MORE;
-BB-B the Spirit stoppeth mine utterance,

-BBAA and the stiffneckedness of men;

AB and it grieveth me that I must speak concerning this thing.

—DB and this is the spirit of REVELATION [PROPHECY] which is in me.
–CA 47 And moreover, I say unto you that it has thus been REVEALED unto me,
